We were in this new sporting goods store the first weekend of this month and I saw this English Pub game that caught my attention called Shut The Box.I could not stop thinking about it so after work on Friday I drove out and bought it.
Posted Image

Centuries ago, Norman sailors and fishermen used their dice to play Shut-the-Box™. Hand-carved, 1" wooden dice give this game its Old World charm. Comes in a decorative, solid-wood box. Roll the dice and lay down any combination of tiles that match your roll. Keep rolling until you can't match your roll on the remaining tiles. Low score wins.

History

The origin is not known but there exist references from at least the 12th century to the Normandy (northern France) or the Channel Islands (English Channel, United Kingdom), others also mention fur trappers from the Hudson's Bay Company. The game has been popular among sailors and fishermen.

Jimmy and I played quite a while on Friday and then off an on as it hits us. :clap

It's so ornate!

I need to go lull myself to sleep, for some reason I sometimes have a bad nights sleep on a sunday. Don't know why, I don't hate going to work, not so good at getting up on a morning though. Still hot and sticky here too so that won't help!

Night garden :wave
