Speaking of my retardo, he called in sick today cause we overslept.

:shock but... but that's wrong! I feel guilty about being away from work even when I am sick. Don't know why. :shrug

When you're sick, you're sick.

But not showing up at all because you overslept...ooooooooh. Thank God his boss was not to know. If I would have found out....disciplinary action. I have fired people for less than that. LOL

I've overslept too on a couple of occassions. But, always called in, told the truth and showed up. And stayed later.

He has like 14 days call in sick days.

He can easily explain it away by exhaustion.
It is 115 degrees here. No ac in his truck.

That amounts to a good sexcuse

Sick in lurve....LOL

Can we see a doctor's note, please?

14 sickies!!!? That's a lot! And nice holiday entitlement as well. Lucky sod.

Now if he would have called in and said"exhaustion" I bet his boss would have been more than happy with it. I just don't think oversleeping merits a day off. Because he's not ill! I bet he just really really really did not want to go to work today and then add up him oversleeping...Ican totally get that.

But, my work ethic is such that I could'nt possibly do it. I'd feel like a thief or something! LOl...also, we only got 4 paid sickdays a year. If you ahve more than that, you go on Statuotory Sick Pay...which is nothing. It pays to go to work, fo sho!

:faint That's sick. We get 60 days. It's bit better than rest because I work for the government. You get to be away 3 days (call in) but after that you need a doc's paper.

60!!!! wow! But then it's controlled by the 3 consecutive sick days-rule. We had that as well. Stopped people from staying away too long. If they were REALLY sick, all the needed was a note from the doctor and they would get normal sickpay for the ammount of days off sick under doctor's supervision. If you do not have a note, you get SSP AND your boss would probably like to have a word.

Cool stuff on the appartments, Anne! I'm still saving up but, I'm gonna buy next year. The market is still strong and it looks to stay that way(fingers x-ed)

See???There you go! They should limit his sickday allowance to ten days! Once he's exceeded that, he would be forced to get a note from his doctor! No way he's gonna produce one, now! That really pisses me off. I can understand people having a life outside of their job and sometimes you just don't want to go in. But then, use your holiday allowance! I have had people working for me whom I had to send home beacuse they were practically fainting off their chairs! And then you have those slackers who call in sick when they're not! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO COME IN AND HAVE A DAY OFF. TELL ME AND WE'LL USE YOUR HOLIDAY ALLOWANCE, THAT'S WHY IT'S THERE! If I had a penny for everytime I used that sentence, i would be buying a house and owning it outright within the day of purchase!

Let me attempt to do math....

371 hours, 8 work hours in a day, should equal about 46 days (sick)

273 hours, 8 work hours in a day, should equal about 34 days (personal/vacation)

:sos

We don't get sick days, I got called in for a "absence review meeting" because I had 8 days in quite a short space of time, I was ill 3 times over the winter with viruses. They make me feel guilty when I shouldn't!! I get 29 days a year + bank holidays, it's so rubbish compared to Jesse's!

when I was a social worker I have called out sick a few times, not cause I was really sick but because I was so stressed out. We called them mental health days. But really you arent allowed to call out for that so you have to make up an illness.

alondria I just posted the tiramisu recipe for ya! I think you can do it with oranges as the recipe calls for Cointreau and orange juice. I guess you would use mandarine oranges maybe with orange marmalade?
