I think they should stay as true to the story that is possible. If it is written that someone is white/black/yellow/green then keep it so. :rocks

Goku looks like a white boy in the cartoon anyway! And he acts like a white boy too! So really I don't see what the fuss is about with that Dragonball Z casting. There is no ethnicity in the way Goku has been depicted in the cartoon what so ever!

An ethnic group is a group of human beings whose members identify with each other, usually on the basis of a presumed common genealogy or ancestry.[1] Ethnic identity is also marked by the recognition from others of a group's distinctiveness[2] and by common cultural, linguistic, religious, behavioral or biological traits

even white folks have a backround therefore they cant be excluded, no?

White folks came up with the word and concept and is commonly used to denote non-whites. While I recognize the broad and seeming inclusiveness of the supposed general defination, in reality it is most used to denote race, particularly non-white

**waits for Rodney to come in and set me straight :chuckle **

This betch is looking at Jesse's comment and will desist from commenting on it as Jesse knows that wahtever it was he wrote was clearly to egg Jules on and came straight from his asshole. :;

As for the qwhole Goku thing. The Anime style of the Dragonball series depicts Japanese people in the same way they have always done. Instead of slanted eyes, anime-style figures are depicted with "rounder"eyes than you might expect. Think about Goku's wife. She's not a Saiyan. The only thing that gives it away that she is Japanese is her clothing style and the fact that well...the bloody story takes place in Japan. DragonBall Z is also a Japanese series that was taken over by Americans. If you want to be all PC about it a kiddie show, than all characters should be played by Japanese actors.

WHAT EVER.

And a silly cartoon at that. I fucking hated that show. My ex always wanted to watch it. It was during the Namek Saga. HORRIBLE! The voice over kept saying: "Any minute now, Namek will explode as Super Goku and Super Gay Frieza battle it out"

Any minute? It took 2 fucking weeks! and we had double bill epis everyday of that pile of rubbish, All the characters looked silly and clenched their teeth and shook and made weird noises as if they were taking a shit.
