I own a passport and have been to both countries bordering the US. Mexico and Canada but we would so love to explore other states in the U.S. including Chicago, New Orleans and Hawaii |

my passport is 8 years old already! and if I were to go out of the country even this year I need to get a new one cause it has my maiden name on it. There was almost a problem with that when I went on my cruise last year. I had totally forgotten but luckily remembered like a week before the trip. There wasnt enough time to get a new passport so the travel agent just changed my boarding pass to my maiden name.

Ew-ness, indeed! Never been to Liverpool. but you have all kinds of people living in London. used to have this fling with a guy Jamie, alsofrom liverpool. Very cute and sweet but, whenever he opened his mouth, especially if he was moaning about something, that Liverpuddlian accent would fucking annoy me!
exactly what I mean. eventhough the US are one nation, geographically it's so versatile and vast! it's like visiting new countries alltogether, I reckon. Hawai-tropical climate, Chicago-continental climate, New orleans-moderate tropical climate...and all these different cultures! in one country. Amazing. Aren't Chicago and New orleans, cities, though? I thought Chicago was in the state of Illinois and New Orleans in Louisiana. can't keep up. Me is ignorant European |

And Michele was so ipressed with Sevilla. would love to check that out as well. But I would really like to live somewhere else for a while, like I did when i was in London. Just don't know where. |

I did not go to Barcelona when I went to Spain but I so want to! I am dying to go back to Spain but at the same time there are other countries I want to see as well. Rodney your US geography was correct! You know most americans probably dont even know where Chicago or New Orleans are, or even that they are cities and not states! It is embarrassing how dumb americans are in the area of geography. I have known people who have thought that Canada was part of the US!

I'm sure it's not that bad in the whole of the States! Sometimes Europeans look down on America becasue it's so much younger than Europe and "supposedly-less "cultured". But I don't reckon most Americans fit the stereotype. The evidence lies within this Forum. All US members are extremely bright! Although I have come across American tourists in London who started speaking German to me when i told them I was from Holland/the Netherlands |

but geography is not a difficult area of study. There is no excuse for it! I know my geography pretty damn well, especially for an american. If there was a geography contest where I could win big bucks I would definately enter it and I think there is a very good chance that I would win. I took a geography course in college and there were these two girls I went to high school with in that class and I couldnt fucking stand either one of them and they were so clueless in that class, they were FAILING. I was amazed that anyone can fail geography. All it is is memorization of where countries and capitals and whatnot are on the map! They were so desperate on the final they were begging for my help and I said "NOPE!" they had to do extra credit just to pass the damn class! Meanwhile I aced the class. |
