It's pretty, though.

I have been twice. I was teeny the first time and the second time I spend some time in paris. it was great. And once you get over the french speaking thing, it's a GREAT city.

What really annoys me is that most of the time, a Parisian shopkeeper KNOWS how to explain something in english but, they'd rather not.

What did you think? I kind of liked it. I was 17 but, I would love to go again to see it with new eyes. I still speak a bit of french. But then, there are so many other countries I would like to visit.

if I ever were to go to France I would skip Paris. I would just go to the southern coast and country side. I hear that is gorgeous! Paris is too pretentous, and dirty and the people I heard are rude and I think it is made too big a deal of as being a romantic city.

You want romance? Go to Seville. Now THAT is truely a city of romance!

They were nice to our american speaking asses! We went to a bar and they closed while we were there but let us stay in and we drank with the owner behind shuttered doors, and a booking snafu led us without a hotel room and the person there was kind enough to find us a room at another hotel and a good price. We visted the Eiffel Tower and Jim Morrison's grave. We had a pleasant time in Paris.

Every big city is the same. And if you want it to be romantic, you make it so, not the city. Have you been to Paris? Maybe you should check it out first on your way to the country.

I hear tell that it is indeed gorgeous. My maye has got a house in the Languedoc area. Very rustic! The people are very unto themselves but, friendly. Imagine you sitting somewhere in a vineyard, eating a baguette and blue cheese and drinking a beautifully full bodied wine....*sigh*

I have never been to Seville!!!! Heard great things about it.Would love to visit Barcelona again. Have you been there? The architecture is magical!

who did you go with jesse? Where else in europe have you been besides there and london and the netherlands?

I really want to go to Belgium. I have always had an affinity for that country. That and denmark. I hear Brussels is a great city. I did a big project on Belgium when I was in 6th grade. I had to dress up like I was from there and do a whole presentation in front of the class. It was stupid. And we had to bring in a food from that country. They grow lots of blueberries there so I made blueberry muffins for my class. My 6th grade english teacher was a fucking wack job

I have been to spain but not barcelona. I went to Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, Costa Del Sol, Gibraltur, Seville, then we went into Portugal and went to Lisbon and Fatima then back to Madrid. I want to go to Barcelona so badly though. I also want to go to Valencia and San Sebastian and Pamplona!! I want to live in Spain actually.

what you described about the french countryside sounds heavenly! :faint

Languedoc area

That area is steeped in a rich history and mythos, it is where Christians killed rival Christians. I want to read a book on the Cathars.

I went with two buddies. And it was only Paris, London, and Amsterdam I've been to. We passed through Belgium on the way to Paris.
