yeh it's aboput a month and a week away. The Brits still have their trials to go through and I expect them to head off to China quite early in order to get over the jetlag and get some training in.

Beijing will pull half its 3.3 million vehicles off the roads during the Olympics, betting the move, plus a stringent ban on construction and heavy industry, will clean the city's noxious air when the games open in seven weeks.

Vehicles will be allowed on the roads on alternate days — according to even or odd car registration numbers — from July 20 until Sept. 20.

In addition, 300,000 heavy polluting vehicles — aging industrial trucks, many of which operate only at night — will be banned from July 1.

A deadly earthquake last month and fierce human-rights protests on international legs of the Olympic torch relay have removed some of the scrutiny from Beijing's chronic air pollution. But sparkling venues and $40 billion spent to improve infrastructure have not disguised the fact that air quality remains a contentious issue for the games.

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge had said outdoor endurance events lasting more than an hour will be postponed if air quality is poor.

"Ironically, the one place where expectations are so low are on the environment, where China may come out looking better than people thought," Victor Cha, director of Asian Studies at Georgetown University, said in an e-mail.

"Pea-soup air at the opening ceremony would be their worst nightmare, however," Cha added.

The Beijing Olympics take place on Aug. 8-24 followed by the Paralympics Sept. 6-17. About 500,000 foreigners are expected for the Olympics with 10,000 athletes and about 30,000 journalists set to attend.

Under the temporary plan announced Friday, between 30 and 70 percent of 300,000 government-operated vehicles will be taken off the roads. Officials also expect a strong increase in the use of public transportation, with several new subway lines set to open. Several others have opened in the last year.

The traffic plan was announced on a day when Beijing sweltered under a thick haze of pollution, limiting visibility to a half mile. Conditions were even worse on Thursday, although both days the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau's Web site described conditions as only "slightly polluted."

Post whore makes history

By setting a new world record! We are weeks away from the Olympics and Julesy's form seems to grow and grow as we edge closer to the tournament each week. Julesy is now officialy the highest post-count record holder and is the woman to beat. She has claimed four consecutive wins; something that hasn't been done since the old QOTD days when "Stacy" held dominion over Foruminians worldwide.

"I'm not in the least interested in worldrecords other than breaking them"said the young american. "I'm on a winning streak at the moment and I can feel myself getting stronger and stronger. I have gained a lot of confidence and would like to bring home the gold for the United States of America" Julesy then started to get teary eyed and proceeded with putting her hand on her hard and singing the "Star spangled banner"

"I want to compete and win for my country. This country needs a new hero. America is in decline and they don't believe in true americanism anymore! But, I look at my alltime hero for inspiration: George Bush."

Rodney-who is sporting a massive injury and suffering from an all too familiar ilness( no timus behind the computeralis because it's more fun going out-itis) posted quite low but could'nt help himself in saying that: Julesy and Bush have something in common...I won't say what but let me just say...Florida state?" The dutch Diva still hates losing apparently.

Meanwhile Dangerous Dan reached new heights and beat his own personal best by a huge margin. Ever since he took a day off smoking it seemed that the Maine Maiden is able to tap into a new energy source. It is evident that the flower-lover will be the dark horse.

The top story was the return of Jesse. For the first time in weeks, he managed to claim a medal. The God-complex-ed one surprised everyone with his sudden return. It seems that Jesse let his experience do the talking and peaked when crunch time is on! . Asked about the reason behind his re-surfacing, Jesse laughed and explained that it had everything to do with eating hueveos rancheros for breakfast. We reckon that to be one of those me-hee-can things that cannot be explained in layman terms.

This just in

The most likely reason for Michele'sudden drop in postings is probably alcohol and drug related. we wish the cavernous coozed one a speedy recovery

Put that hand on your hard.

:ha OMG! I did'nt even notice that spelling mistake! I HATE spelling mistakes normally. Oh well...the curse of the non native english speaker strikes again. And I just love the image of Jules putting her hand on her hard....nipples? and singing the national anthem. Which is-by the way- too difficult to sing for you americans.

That note in the middle is soo incredibly high! Like when they go : blah blah Land of the Freeeeeeeeeee" No wonder they have have Mariah or Crackey(Whitney) or some American Idol winner belt it out through a microphone. It's to drown out the squeeling of the general public trying to hit that note. I can just see some tornado bait poor white trashy fellow with a mullet during a Baseball game, trying to hit the note and holding one finger in his ear the other raised in the air and eyes tightly shut a la Mariah Scarey and go : "Fah-rrrreeeeeeeeeeeeee--ee-ee-yeah...and the hoooooooome of thaaaaa-aaa* long pause* braaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa*Mariah pitch* vvvvvvfffffffffeee-ah
