Hendrix was an addict but he showed up for gigs and performed entire sets! She doesnt show up for her her shows half the time.

I do like her one song though, not the rehab song but the other one. It got some radio play but not as much as the rehab song did.

Anyway, enough about that crackwhore.

So be it. That is not the discussion. Hendrix was talented, Amy is talented. Whether they showed up or not.

I told you I was trouble

yeah that one

showing up for shows counts. you cant expect people to take you seriously and buy your albums if you dont show up when they buy tickets to see you perform. Also you are honing your craft even more with every performance. Besides, there are many people out there who are also very talented and havent gotten the opportunities she has been given. And she is wasting it away. I feel no sympathy for the bitch. And she only gets media attention for her drugging and boozing her and drugging and boozing husband. If she was SOOOOOOO talented she would be getting more attention for her music than her trainwreck life.

Her drug antics are indeed the majority of what her column inches consist of. Her own drug feuled fault! But that goes for every celebrity with an issue.

As for her not being recognized for her talent.

ummmm. No woman has received more prestigious awards than Amy over the last two years. And I don't mean the crappy awards like the Grammy's. But proper gongs awarded to her by her peers and musical heavyweights. She is widely considered as a great songwriter and singer. despite her cancelling gigs(ever since she got out of rehab she hasn't cancelled any more than workaholic Maddonna)-people still keep buying her album by the bucket loads. Not because they like HER,they like her art.

Herdrug problem can cloud many easy-to-be-influenced minds, but that goes without saying.

As for sympathy...maybe it's because I read EVERYTHING about her and definetly because I just LOOOOOVE her that I do. She's a very troubled soul and she pours it out through her songs.

Thing is, is that it's unacceptable but I have been around druggies enough to know that addiction doesn't say anything about the good stuff in people. I hope she gets better but....I think we got another Janis Joplin, here.

well maybe she gets lots of accolades in europe and has had more singles released over there as that is where she is from.

Over here, all she has had out is that rehab song and that trouble song I said I liked received just A LITTLE air play, not much.

Actually,no. Most of her gongs are from The US. She doesn't get a lot of airplay in europe, either. Only in Britain. Her talent has not been measured by the amount of airplay she gets. It's about her work. That's what's being recognized. And her album sales worldwide. Amy Winehouse is not what you would call a pop-artist that gets a lot of airtime. She is just an artist.

If it wasn't for the drugs, you probably would;nt have heard of her.

It's like with her first album "Frank". People weren't aware of her at all! But it was a worldwide success as well. And she got rave reviews for it from the best in the industry. Amy Winehouse is rediculously talented. And it's sad to see the public decline of a self destructive person so young through her own fault. She's only 24!

what is sad is that she is destroying her own life and her own body at such a young age. What a waste of life!

Now THAT I completely agree with. And if she OD's. I will be sad. But I won't sympathise with her for NOT kicking the habbit. She's loaded and can afford the best treatment in the world if she wants to. For now, she "seems" off the drugs but we've heard that one before.

Get rid of Blake,Amy...You know he ain't no good

I know it is hard to kick the habbit when you are addicted. I allow you some time to get your shit together but when you never do, and you keep destroying yourself further and further, I loose all sympathy and empathy for you.

I had this friend who was an addict. The sweetest guy EVER!!!! But he was so addicted, you know? And as much as I loved him, as much as I sympathised with him, I just had to turn my back. I would only allow him to come back untill he was willing to kick the shit. Sometimes he would seem to be willing to get help(that's why I don't trust ms. Winehouse to be clean)and then fool me by stealing money and stuff as he knew I would'nt give him anything more than a ride to the clinic. It's the only thing you can do.

I never told this to anyone but, the forum(because you guys are miles away and cant easily influence my offline life and my people in it .hahaha).

He's dead now. Very sad but, it's his doing. Help was there. He did'nt take it. he's gone. I miss him very much as he was a great person regardless of the drugs.

That is probably why I can still like the Wino. But fron at her drug abuse.

I love her eccentric behaviour and the way she is so bonehard honest in Interviews and so vulnerable in her writings. A friend of mine got to interview her in Amsterdam(lucky bitch) 5 years ago. They went for coffee afterwards. What I would'nt have given to at least be at that Interview. Lucky bitch :angry

Most addicts I know are into alcohol. One has been to drugs as well but also
alcohol. I have no sympathy towards them. I guess mostly because few of them have been close relatives and have made my life much harder because of it. They also have one similarity... they have always been soft-spirited people. People who are very kind, gentle or even artistic within. Kind of like "I can't take this world without being drunk". I can relate to that last statement, however I have never been gentle or weak. I have always had to be strong for all of them. I feel like I am always the one that takes it to her shoulders and crawls to the finish. Luckily I started talking about it to my friends because this "keep secrets, clean up their mess and be strong" stuff was destroying me.

Sooooooooo true! That's well scary!
I had the EXACT same thing and it caused my total meltdown.
For as long as I can remeber I have been "the strong one" and never complaining . Always taking things on the chin when, actyually, I was pretty fucked up within and did'nt share. I just did'nt do sharling. I did however urged people to talk to me whenever the felt the needed a shoulder to cry on. became known as the Agony Aunt. Well, I reached a point where I just could not take it anymore and I just went "pffffffffffft" completely deflated. Majorly depressed, contemplated doing scary things. No drug or drink could take it away( and I did drink a LOT but, not to the extend of alcoholism) and then I decided to open up(a difficult task)...and things are defo better. I could have easily gone the route of taking drugs to numb the pain, as tempting as it was...I value my health and life too much to do that. And the fact that, i saw someone dear to me die from it, that kinda helped as well.

I did sympathise with my friend. But I do hold it against him for, making me feel the way that I did when he went through his shit. He put me through a lot of shit because of HIS shit.Andhe was too coked up to realise that-HEY, I'm not doing THAT well, either but I'm not snorting and injecting and drinking by the gallons! I feel sorry for the fact that he was weak, and I'm sorry for the way he felt and sorry that he's dead

. I don't feel sorry for the fact that he did'nt want to get well enough to live. I'm still angry with him over that. Even more angry that he's probably chilling in the afterlife and I have to get to terms with not being angry with him anymore ! *shakes fist to the skies* grrrr. That afterlife better be worth it, arsehole!

YAY! SHIRLEY MANSON

The Hollywood Reporter says that Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson has landed a regular role next season on Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

On "Sarah Connor," produced by Warner Bros. TV, Scottish musician Manson will play Catherine Weaver, the CEO of a cutting-edge high-tech company.

The sci-fi series, an offshoot from the "Terminator" feature franchise, is returning for a second season in the fall after launching in midseason as the highest-rated new scripted series of the 2007-08 season.

It stars Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Thomas Dekker as her son John Connor and Summer Glau as terminator Cameron Phillips.

Okay so, she's not thin. The woman clearly likes her food. And clearly Pierece doesn't mind a bit of a cushion for the pushin'
She's not Huuuge or anything. Just very different from those anorexic girls.
She's a bit flabby but then, so are most women her size. If it really bothers her, she should join a gym to tone up. Other than that, pretty healthy looking woman.

How much thinner was she before?

well Camden NJ I believe is the poorest major city in the states and also most years has the highest murder rate. It is right across the river from Philadelphia (my neck of the woods).

They have a nice concert venue and a nice aquarium in Camden. They built them like 15 years ago to stimulate jobs and economic growth in Camden to hopefully lessen the crime and poverty but I dont think it helped all that much. But yeah, those are the only reasons anyone goes to Camden. To see a concert or go to the Aquarium

I have been to like 10 concerts there and to the aquarium 2 or 3 times. It is so easy, both are right on the waterfront so you just drive over the bridge from Philly and almost as soon as you get off the bridge you are at the concert venue then when the show is over you immediately hop right back on the bridge so there really isnt much danger.
