The system is sad yes, which is why I do not begrudge the illegals in this country.

In the end its about survival and better lives for their families.

I will never begrudge someone that, and life itself always dictatates in order for someone to get ahead someone else will be left behind.

It is a sad fact.

I begrudge them coming in droves and bringing down the house value due to human smuggling and drop houses.

Thats what I dont like.

That's not how it went back in the old days. Everyone could come then, there are rules now and that's what we are discussing.

That's what she would get for overbreeding!

Now that is a wanker-ish reaction if there ever was one....more on this later :;

Interesting topic. Sad thing is that, this is not the first time a gay guy was sent back to Iran by the British. 2 years ago some Iranian kid was thrown of the roof as punishment for his sexuality. Very sad indeed.

What really annoys me is that, this particular case gets all this publicity and the guy gets to stay(GREAT!!!) but, how many others get send back to Iraq, Nigeria, Congo,Yemen etc? And it's not only people who fled the country for being gay. There are people getting the hell out for millions of reasons! and we're thinking:"Gosh, that's really sad"

The problem is that laws have come into place about if and where refugees get to stay.
I think the UK was wrong to overthrow his application but, that is a personal thing But, why should the Dutch, take over? Especially with such a hig profile case? .

If the Dutch would have taken the case on, we would have to accept EVERYBODY in the same situation. Should we all really create a new law where it says: If you deny a refugee asylum, send them to The Netherlands?

For years, The Netherlands have accepted more asylum seekers than any other country in the EU! It's one f the smallest countries in the world and one of the most densly populated!

The issue of asylumseekers is very sensitive but, it needs fareness. We cannot allow our emotions to be clouded by personal feelings towards each case. Should we feel more sorry for this poor fellow, who will suerly be killed only because he's gay or, should we feel more sorry for the wife of a freedom fighter. Who's husband has been murdered and now there is a warrant out for her and her three young children? Who do you send back?

These are questions that people in Immigration have to deal with every day and I don't envy them. I'm sure they wish they could save everybody. But you can't!
And do not forget that, these people did not come here because they think Europe is so much fun;they fled their homes and left their loved ones behind. It is up to the global community to show countries-like Iran, that they have a HUGE problem, here. You can only do that with clever with dialogue and diplomacy. People might say, it is a softly softly approach but, that is all they can do, short of invading a country for not having the same principles(Iraq anyone?)

At the end of the day, in our society it took years of black people getting lynched, shot at, butchered, and fighting for their freedom to be seen as real citizens. It took the same for gay people. women had to fight for equality as well. I am very thankful and proud of my ancestors for what they did, resulting me being considered a free man. But it took a long time and a lot of death and despair. But it was all thanks to the people themselves empowering themselves through individual action( Rosa Parks)

Seems to me that countries which such despicable laws as they have in some African countries and the Middle East, will go through the same thing whilst, the world watches on from the sidelines. it is no different from the struggle that we all went through and then-NOBODY helped.

One has every right to feel sympathetic to the gay Iranian but, do not for one second turn your anger to countries that, take on many different cases wher the outcamde is a matter of life and death, each and every day. Don't say that, the UK and the Netherlands should be ashamed when they treat every asylum seeker the same and do what they can.

Quadruple shame on Iran. And power to the gays in Iran. I hope they can do what has been done for us in the past by brave men and women and make an end to the injustice.

It is not always up to to others to sort out some countries problem. The US have shown us time and time again that intervention can sometimes lead to a bigger problem. leave it to the Iranians

Rodney, I truly do love it when you post because you can tell it was well thought out.

The immagration does all it can, but I do believe at times the immagration turn people away for no reason.

I agree with Anne and Jules. The boy went to the media and good for him. But I am sure there is a gay boy being sent back today and will be killed tommorrow.

How the hell did these people find out anyway? I mean, do they like have fucking spies somewhere!

Also, I was reading about this 14 year old boy who "supposedly" pimped himself out for his poverty stricken family. Hiss downfall? He lived in Iraq. Where the hell is the US in all of this? We put our nose into everything this country does, but whn it comes to the gays we're all no touchy?

Why should it be matter to the US or any nation. It's an issue in Iran. You don't see people flocking to America's aid for their problems. It is up to the Iranians to sort out their mess in this case.

Julesy- Did you does :zz me? oh no you did'nt!

*takes out his GIANT velt tip pen* :angry take it!

come to Arizona, the border town of Mexico. Once you live here and actually experience it here, YOU tell ME what its like.
See your hard earned money be blighted by non americans. Watch your house value go down due to these illegals.
Then come at me. Other than that

case closed. :zz
