actually its not. you have nothing to show for it. we are both on the house note. I just dont pay the bill but get all the credit for it. my credit score jumped up after I signed for it. Yes, we will eventually marry and this is our house. I just have to find the courage and fucking do it. |

With a house you have property taxes, plus water and garbage bills, and all repairs come out your pocket. Not when you rent. Home is what you make it. I've always detested the "American Dream", that's why the housing market and thus the economy is in such shambles right now. Everybody chasing the "American Dream" of owning a home, and raising children. Well its put everybody in this country in massive debt and the dream is becoming a nightmare for many families. It is too damn early for me to start preaching, and hell its sunday! Shut up bitch! LOL |

lol but in the end its OURS. I always hated renting. You get NOTHING. Least with the house I can decorate and have kick as parties with no worries from the landlord. as far as the housing market. i could care less. we can afford a 3 bedroom 2 bath...no prob. renting is like throwing away money. to me anyway |

I agree, renting is better. I mean if I made at least $70,000 a year then yeah, I would get a house but for making less than that a year to me it is not worth having a house cause you pay a shitload for property taxes and homeowner's insurance is also a fortune, plus like jesse said you have to pay for EVERY utility and every repair. I LOVE being able to just pick up the phone when something breaks and someone comes out right away and fixes it and I dont pay a dime! I highly doubt I will ever own a house. I think the only way that is happening is if I end up marrying a guy who makes at least $70,000 a year plus my income. Which I dont seem to ever date men who make more than $35,000 so I doubt that will happen. lol. I would like to rent a house though. Or if I do ever buy, I would buy a duplex building. I would live in one of the units and rent out the other, that way it is affordable to pay for everything that comes along with owning property because the rent I would be charging would cover at least half of the expenses. |

in your situation it may be throwing away money, but for those of us whom buying a home would put them in the poor house, scrambling each month to pay all the mortage and all the bills of the house, it is not worth doing that if your income is not really high enough for it and I have known people who buy a house in these circumstances and they are miserable scrambling each month, just barely eeking out the mortage payments and insurance and such, each month stressed out worried that they might not be able to pay. no thanks, I would much rather not have that stress and worry. |

If I could formulate a plan to pay off my credit card debt I'd be in a better position. **sigh** One day. I'm almost done with one of my two school loans though! It will definitely be paid off before the end of the year! |

that is just it, I always have debt. Last year I paid off my credit card debt, this year I got back in debt when I was unemployed. Not as much as last time, but enough that I am still trying to pay it off currently. And each month it seems like things come up that I need money for that are unexpected and take away from the amount of money that I had planned on using to pay down my debt, so I rarely end up being able to make the payment size that I had wanted to and thought I would be able to. Life always fucking gets in the way!

I don't have any debt. The idea of having a lot of it, creeps me out. That's why I have avoided it thusfar. I want my own apartment one day but there is no need to buy a whole house unless you have someone to share it with. I have been thinking about going a step further from renting. I don't know if you have this in Us or Uk (propably) but you can buy 15% of the apartment and then rest is in rent form. Thus no one can kick you out but you are still renting and it is more "your own" than in regular renting. If you move out, you get the 15 % (plus interest back) and in some cases part of the rent as well. That does not creep me out as much as taking a huge loan and being tied to the house/apartment. |

Old flame? I could never. When it's over I shut them out. Don't know why really. I just never want them near me again. I should save money but at the same time I have loads of stuff I need to buy. I hate it.

I reckon it depends on your financial status. To me it means EQUITY. as far as calling someone to fix something..thats what my guy is for. He can pretty much fix anything. same thing with the cars, we dont pay and get an oil change. He does the 'manly' work around here. Either that or he calls in a friend. It works out for us.

you are lucky your guy can fix things but you guys still have to pay for the parts and such, and I am sure there are some things he cant fix for which you would have to call someone, like a water heater or something like that and like if you need an exterminator, have to pay for it yourself. Need a new roof? Have to pay for it yourself |

lol a water heater in Arizona isnt exactly a must need. as far as paying for parts, thats nothing. You get fucked by paying labor. Besides, every mexican knows another mexican who can fix anything! seriously. if my guy cant fix it, my bro in law can or my uncle. I have these guys on speed dial. |

That's true! Michele good luck but Graham hasn't changed and I'm sure he's not going to any time soon, so if you really want things to work out its gonna have to be you who makes the change. |

Jules--take *two* of your birth control pills on the same day. This acts as a sort of morning after pill and if by the off-chance that any of those little swimmers are on their way, this will stop them. I was told this once by a doctor. |
