I think it is ridiculous and terrible. Seems they will never get over the Bay of Pigs humiliation. They will have to wait till Castro kicks it before they stop the sanctions. But Cuba is doing ok--the life of the average person seems much better than what I hear it was under Batistas' control and the booming tourist trade is a big boon for them. I want some ham and eggs too Jules! I wonder what they will give us on the plane. Rubbery chicken in a saliva flavoured sauce probably. Ok I really am outta here. Gotta get my chillen all set. Hope they enjoy the flight and don't go all apeshit on the plane!! xoxoxox |

I cant hook up my verizon internet cause the phone jacks in my apartment suck! The holes in them are not big enough to fit ANY phone cord. I asked the rental office about it and they said that they had nothing to do with it verizon would need to install new jacks and I asked verizon and they said that the rental office should do it. If they do it, they will bill me a big ass charge. meanwhile, my current cable internet was supposed to be shut off 2 days ago and obviously has not been done which in a way is good cause I dont have this installed yet but fucking Comcast and vampires. They didnt put the order through so that they can continue to charge me. I will be calling them about it tomm. |

CLOVERFIELD SPOILERS.........dont look if you dont wanna know re it is if anyone's interested: CLOVERFIELD Movie Review I just got back from seeing Cloverfield and am still feeling a bout of motion sickness. Not sure if it was the bus ride or the movie, but here I am and here's my some thing of a review. On the whole, Cloverfield is the best horror/action/romance movie I've seen in ages. It's really exciting and the fact that its all shot on a handheld camera just makes it all the more believable. It isn't draggy and chock full of action like Transformers was, Cloverfield actually hits you hard and keeps your adrenaline going and yet manages to create character development and this rare quiet moments where we are allowed to develop a kind of affinity to each character in our own way. However, after all that hype and controversy, the monster totally sucked balls. It wasn't creepy, scary or mysterious. In fact, the monster seemed almost like the victim here as it was being continuously attacked when all it was probably doing was lumbering around. What was the deal with the Statue of Liberty's Head though? Did it rip it off and lug it all the way across the ocean before tossing it at the building? Or was it playing golf with its tail as the stick and the head as the ball? As the whole film is supposed to be filmed by HUD and Rob, we never get any information on the monster and why it's here or how it came about as we are so used to in most Hollywood productions where a backstory is given, cue: "Two years ago, a group of scientists dumped deadly toxins into the ocean and created an abomination like no other. Now, the world as we know it is in peril." There is no lesson to be learned from this movie, no hidden government propaganda, just pure evoking of human emotion and the connectivity of each individual. Talking about individuals, I'm proud of Matt Reeves or J. J. Abrams or whoever it was that decided to not have the black character be the first to die as is so common in all the films that are being produced now a days. Its good to see a black character play a huge role in the movie. Thumbs up for that. Although up till now I haven't the slightest idea if Lilly survived or if she died in the crash. That whole part was just happening so fast, the shaky handycams did not help. On to the monster, it was really not frightening, in fact it looked, sorry I HAVE to say this, stupid. If I recall, it has two huge arms, two smaller ones at its abdominal area (we don't see it move. EVER. maybe it aids in swimming?) a face that looks like well.. nothing innovative about the face. It has fangs, pulsing red sacs on the side of its head, three fingers, a tail like that of a tadpole and legs that really do not look like it would be of any use for underwater movement. I've no idea where the huge tentacle comes from that smashes the bridge as it does not look like any part of the Cloverfield monster after that. That was weird, maybe it was the tail? Oh and the parasites that fall off the creature look like mutated spiders with neon like eyes, 8 clawy legs and 4-6 fangs. Apparently once you are "The Bitten", you stand no chance of survival as your blood will pour from your eyes and mouth and inevitably you will go POW. The parasites are the ones to look out for, they scared the shit out of me which big man Cloverfield did not achieve at any one point in the movie. Except that part with the helicopter. Watch out for that. :D Okay anyway, don't want to give any spoilers, all that can be found on wikipedia. I found it funny that when the movie ended I was the only one who got it and everyone around me was like "Wait, you mean that's it?" The guy sitting beside me left halfway for reasons unknown, so I guess it doesn't appeal to everyone. Great movie on the whole, great acting, wonderfully paced and stunning visual effects. More work could have gone into the Cloverfield monster though and the writing..and the plot somewhat if there even was one. CLOVERFIELD gets 8 out of 10 from me. |

Jules its Xenu making his return! I like a little mystery, I don't need the origins of the monster. People are so used to having things explained to them so that they don't have to think for themselves! Lazy fucking Americans. But I had a feeling the monster itself wouldn't blow people away, we've seen so many versions of monsters throughout the years that we are sort of desensitized to them as far as shock value is concerned. But this movie is supposed to be about the people being terrorized, not about the monster, so that is what makes it different. |

It’s Bozology 101: Clowns scare kids They’re ‘universally disliked by children,’ British researchers discover LONDON - Bad news for Coco and Blinko — children don't like clowns, and even older kids are scared of them. That's the finding of a poll of youngsters by researchers from the University of Sheffield who were examining how to improve the decor of hospital children's wards. The study, reported in the Nursing Standard magazine, found all the 250 patients aged between 4 and 16 they quizzed disliked the use of clowns, with even the older ones finding them scary. "As adults we make assumptions about what works for children," said Penny Curtis, a senior lecturer in research at the university. "We found that clowns are universally disliked by children. Some found them quite frightening and unknowable." ____________________________________________________________ I don't like clowns either precious! |

As a kid I wasnt fond of clowns either. I didnt find them completely scary, but I found them weird, they made me slightly uncomfortable. All that face makeup. As a kid for halloween I would NEVER be anything that required me wearing a lot of face paint or a mask. |

Found a place halfway between my home and work and I will go there after work to buy a ticket. Ironically enough its the same place I've wanted to go for the past two days to see The Orphange but a certain mexican didn't want to. That's why I like going to movies BY MYSELF! You know what? Fuck it. I'm going to the same theatre anyway right? I shall see The Orphange after work AND buy Cloverfield for tomorrow! Works fucking perfect! |
