age is a state of mind as well. Have you ever seen old people who are like 85 but look like they are 55 and feel like they are 40? If I could live to be 200 I would want to

what is so decadent about beer? and puking?

You are right, we do overvalue alcohol. And I hate it that people have to explain why they do not drink. Like it was the most important thing in the world and we could not survive without it! Heck alcohol is just like candy. You do not NEED to do it. And if you can actually go to a bar, not drink, and have fun, then you are indeed lucky :rocks

I like drinking myself. I cannot go to a bar and not drink. I can't stand people who are drunk so I drink to tolerate them. :shrug Also I have much more fun that way. Sometimes I also drink to "zero things down", meaning that I have worries and need to drown them with some heavy-arse drinking. :;

exactly anne! It is not that I dont drink at all, but I dont drink to get drunk, though occasionally it has happened anyway but 95% of the time when I go out nope I dont get drunk. And just like you said I always have to explain myself to people and am looked at as if I have 3 heads.

all I can say is that my liver is healthier, my heart is healthier, my brain is healthier, I wont get fat and bloated from drinking, I know what I am doing, I am in control, and I am not murdering people with my car or in jail like my sister's friend Trish is right now for drinking.

us drunkards have to explain WHY we drink as well. why the hell not? sorry Im not an uptight paranoid whos worried about how they act if they drink. keep it in control people . I like to get a good buzz on and have fun.
Deal with it or dont go to a bar which is filled with drinking patrons. :cheers

thats like goin to a buffet and not expecting shitty low quality food! :toot

apparently Michele you dont know how to handle yourself while drinking.THAT or the people who you know that drink dont know how to handle themselves.

:rocks

:cheers

:rocks

I have not puked from drinking in ages!

Nor have I been "plastered" to the point of incoherency.

I know how to handle my alcohol, I don't let the alcohol handle me! :rocks

I have never ever had to explain why I drink as much as I do. However when I was without alcohol for month or so, they thought I had gone absolutely mad. :ha Eh hum. If you say that you do not drink (in here) you get blank looks. It goes against our very blood I guess. But I think that idea is wrong altogether; that you HAVE to drink. No you do not. :shrug

But in another news, I will get wasted this weekend. :rock

Jules I would have ordered the biggest mug of beer they had and after taking a huge gulp would have smacked my lips together and said "mmmm....so freshing!"

Just because a person in my presence does not drink is not going to stop me from drinking.

You can have a couple beers before the meal and not get drunk. The soda I bet they drank is worse than the beer!

I am not talking about people who drink to get a buzz, I am talking about people who drink to get totally wasted, which seems to be the norm and like part of the culture almost. A lot of my friends did or sometimes still do drink with the goal to get completey plastered
