This is true what Dan says, but I exclude Britain from being European's in this instance! In France children are given wine at the table with the family from a young age and it is normal to them, it's not forbidden fruit so they don't go crazy when they can go out for a drink. There is a huge problem with alcohol, specifically binge drinking over here. Kelly will have seen it when she was a student over here!!! It costs us so much money as a country in terms of police and ambulance services. Go to the casualty department of any hospital on a Friday/Saturday night and it will be full of drink related injuries. Men get agressive and fight. Actually women also do that!! Women drinking to excess worried me more because of rape. So many people go out and aren't even in control of themselves, can't remember what happened the next day. Our football yob culture is also part of our drinking culture. But having said all that, I don't think the age should be raised, I'd lower it to 16 and in America too! I don't see how any policies can change people's attitutes to what is acceptable behaviour. |

Maybe!!! I don't think it would be any worse for the country than having Bush in control for a start!! Hvae an awareness campaign about drink driving then, and the harmful effects of too much alcohol. Educate people but let them make their decisions. |

I'm not exactly sure how people in other countries are raised but here in america it seems we glamourize getting drunk and make it look like everything is a party with alcahol and you will get laid till your dick falls off. But i'm sure in a culture where you are raised to believe that having a drink or two is a nice way to unwind after a day and maybe hang out with friends and family at a pub or something it's no problem to have a younger legal drinking age as people raised that way might be able to drink a bit more responsibly. Americans get beer and it's like "wooo i'm drunk lemme get some pussay!!!!!"

Joel! Americans are really fucking stupid and primitive! I dont get why getting plastered is idolized as being the only way to have a good time in this country! Are we that fucking boring as a people that we must think the only way to have fun is to act like fucking drunken imbeciles and contract gonerrehea from drunken one night stands? We are such an immature people with no class and sophistication at all! |

lol Jesus drank wine and when they ran out, he made water into wine! I wish I had that power. I heard in Germany 16yr olds can drink beer legally and drink wine/liquor @ 18. I never hear shit about the Germans! |

I dig some of the guys in Rammstein. When they do buch dich live the lead singer whips out this big dildo in his pants and it starts shooting fake cum for like 3 minutes while he dances around waving it at fans and at one point leaning over and drinking some of it! Pretty hot lol

I agree with everything said about Americans I guess I'm just an odd one in that getting drunk never interested me infact it actually scares the hell out of me. Always hearing about high school and college boys getting girls drunk so they can all get laid. I hope when I have kids it won't be like that. I won't make it a forbidden thing. With my parents if I wanted some they let me have a little but I also think the way they used it helped too. My mom would get some beer and it would sit in the refrigerator for almost a half a year. It just wasn't a big deal to them to drink a lot. I also saw what it did to my old friends at school manytimes they'd be drunk as hell in class they drank so much that even when sobber you couldn't hold a propper conversation with them. Drinking is just another thing Americans have distorted like sex. It's put up to be like the greatest thing by the media and people one second and the next it's horrible, sinful and sick the next. Americans have distorted it to the point where we don't know what to make of it which can lead to abuse. |

I drank in high school. We evwen knew of a liquor store in the bad side of town where you could buy underage but only through the drive through. Jane, when I mentioned Europe,it was your comment about France that I was thinking of.And you should know me well enough by now that I would never think that Great Britain was a part of Europe.

Erin I feel the same as you. Drinking has never really interested me. When I do have an alcoholic beverage I am drinking it cause I like the taste. Like my favorite drink is amaretto and gingerale. No one I know drinks that but me and my friends and such always make fun of me that I drink that cause it is a "weak" drink, it would take at least 5 to get me drunk. But they miss the point, I drink it cause I love the taste of amaretto, my goal is never to get drunk. Another reason why I drink it is cause usually I am the designated driver so yes since it is not strong I can have 1 or 2 and still be fine to drive. And I also am uber paranoid when I am drinking with regards to guys taking advantage. On the rare occasions when I manage to get drunk (always an accident) I dont like guys trying to hit on me, if they do I usually shoo them away. I wont hook up with a guy when I am drunk either cause I am so paranoid of what will happen. |
