Do you think 21 is too old to legally start drinking?

I was on another web site and they were talking about this.

Do you think it would cause more problems?

I know it the UK and other countries its 18. They dont seem to have a problem with it, or maybe they do. I dunno.

Or is it cause Americans are drunken idiots who dont know how to stop and like the rest of things, they overindulge?

:cheers

Yeah that. American kids don't seem to have any true sense of culture and responsibility. They are immature. 21 it should remain.

There has been talk of this, of course, to lower drinking age, but one must look at the long run affects. If we lower the drinking age how many 18 years old will rush to the stores to buy beer?

I dont really see the point of it being 21. Most people younger than 21 drink anyway. It doesnt seem to be a problem anywhere else like you said. I wonder if there are statistics that show if drunk driving has decreased or increased or remained the same since they moved the drinking age to 21.

If we are to lower the drinking age we must do it slowly. We shouldn't just make a law that says "drinking age now 18." The United States has had the drinking age 21 years for a couple of decades now if we automatically lower it then we are looking at a boom. stores prices would go up as to fact that they have a lot more business and if we lower this what else should we lower.

Europeans are raised with different standards than we are to drinking. Therefore the mentality is different. Not that I am saying there aren't morons in Europe that are drunken fools.

I agree with Dan. Americans have been use to this for so long that they don't see any other way. If we decide to lower it we should start out first. The reason why kids drink so much is because they are denied alochol, but if we give it to them are also giving them a ride to their deaths for many teenages are killed in drunk driving.
