thank you chica!!

Ill post my fave hangover recipe! try it, its sooo yummy and good for nursing your hangover. FO SHO!!!

2 cups of uncooked pasta (I use small pasta shells, you can use almost anything. If you use a long pasta like spaghetti, break)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup onions
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
water

1. Heat the olive oil in a 2 qt sauce pan.
2. Put the uncooked pasta, onions and garlic in 2 qt sauce pan.
3. Stir regularly until onions become translucent and pasta has brown spots on it where it has fried.
4. Put tomato sauce and salt in sauce pan.
5. Put enough water in saucepan to cover pasta completely but not too much.
6. Stir then cover saucepan and let simmer for 5 minutes.
7. Uncover saucepan and let water cook down until sauce nearly disappears, stirring ocassionally

*side note* I add my own american cheese slices to it, to make it more cheesey.
Yeah, IM a cheese whore.

LARISA :kizzzzzz

Now give up the goods on that Latvian food/comida!!!

Ok I thought I'd start with an appetizer and eventually work my way through a meal. This recipe I got from a friend not soon after I moved here.Never was much of a fan of crab but, this I like. :rocks

Crabmeat Cheese Spread

1-8oz. crabmeat
1-8-10 extra sharp cheddar cheese,grated
1 small onion,2-3 Tbsp. chopped fine
1 tsp.dill weed
1/2 Tbsp of mayonaise
Mix the above ingredients together and bake at 375 for 40 min.
When the cheese spread comes out it will be bubbly and needs
to sit for 10-15 to cool a bit and firm up.Serve with crackers
serves 6-8

You can boil them Jules, or steam them, or bake them, or throw them bitches on the grill!

Miguel and I love us some king crab legs. Just watch them sharp thorny shells.

Kick ass salsa Miguel's momma style!

If you have a comal, great! If not, a flat iron pan or even a grill will work perfect!

Roast about 4-5 plum tomatoes, and about 10 jalapeno peppers (remove the stems).

Roast them till they are black on as many sides as you can get.

Put the blackened roasted tomatoes and peppers in a plastic bag and tie it. Keep them in the bag for at least 15 minutes, this allows them to steam.

Peel as much of the skin off of them as much as can.

Place the hot peeled tomatoes and peppers in a container and smash them to bloody pulps! Miguel's mom actually uses her hands! Miguel and I use the bottom of a glass. Smash and smash and smach until its all pulp. If you wish, add some salt and a bit of water to give it more of a juice, because it will be thick.

Experiment until you find the consistancy that you want, and subsequent tries will tell you how many more or less of tomatoes or jalapenos you want.

You can also use banana peppers or serrano peppers with the jalapeno peppers.

Enjoy as a dip or on top of anything you want.

my grandpa uses a Molcajete. Its a like a stone bowl with a stone rock (sorta) used for smashing.

I want a molcajete!

Doing if manually makes it a bit chunky, has more substance, that's why I like it this way, especially because of the roasted flavor.

A food processor is fine, but it really liquifies it.

:shrug To how much it cost.We buy it in little plastic tubs already picked.I always double check though with my fingertips just in case they missed something.

Jesse you lousy bastard. :tapping the recipe you post is the only one i have been able to get out of you in a year of asking for mama recipes.You gave that to me on the phone one night.Post another now. :;

What is the difference between using a comal and a cast iron skillet?

Oh yeah and that "me living near the ocean" The grocery store where we shop is directly across the street from back cove.Which means that you always have a cool view of a changing body of water when you go shop...just kinda cool to me. :shrug
