So what do you think? Who do you really think was behind it? Do you believe what the media tells us completely, partially, or not at all? Or do you believe any of the conspiracy theories?

Discuss!

*someone please pin me!*

I think, based on nothing concrete, it was a source outside the US government that planned and carried out 9/11, but Bush etc have used it to their own advantage. Maybe not even conscously, just reacting badly, lashing out in fear. All violence does is bring more violence. An endless cycle. Having someone else to hate, ie Bin Laden, or Iraq (which doesn't seem to have had anything to do with it) brings your country closer together.

Incidently almost as many American soliders have died in Iraq as were killed when the twin towers fell.

Sorry had to edit Michele, the blame was placed on al Queda, not the Taliban.

Anyhow, to make this short and sweet, I do believe factions within our government assisted in carrying out 9/11. There is more information to support that theory than there is to discount it. An excellent documentary is called Loose Change. I'll look for the link later but it has been posted in the Garden in the past.

Yeah, that's true. It's sad really that it took a terrorist attack to bring America together. It seems like every time I turn around there's some new argument raging between two factions. It's ridiclous.

9/11 brought america together for what, a year maybe? We are not together. The country seems more divided as ever, as more and more people realize how much Bush has FUCKED UP this country and is slowly taking away our civil liberties.

I agree Michele you're not together and neither are we over here. But Bush was probably advised and acted in a way to try and make it an us against them situation.

It doesn't matter how long we were together, we were together. We all had one goal and as the Iraq war waged on and people started to wonder why we were there we started to divide. Bush needs to know Americans aren't patient, and for a country who is the most richest abd powerfulest we are basically looking like assholes in front of the world. Most of the world hates us because of our leaders. The higher you go up the simpler it gets: it's about money, nothing else.
