[City Island] Eastern Skyscraper "HA HA HA HA! So the test has begun!" At the top of one of the skyscrapers, a young woman stood... ![]() "I guess that means it is my turn to play my part as the tactical commander of the 'villains'!" She then raised her sword, pointing it forward. "Go forth, mini-Nobbus! And conquer the nation by force!!" With those words, a number of strange looking 'creatures' of differing sizes emerged from the building, to join the other robots already set up around the city. ...but because they were mini-Nobbus, they also were probably more apt to cause craziness, too. ================ North Safe Zone Rumi looked a bit grumpy. Connor and Sarai were having a moment, and that got RUDELY interrupted by the beginning of this introductory examination. At least now, though, those two were going to get to work together on this exam, and she could watch it all on the big screens nearby! ...and maybe see how other people worked together, too... Just because she wasn't going to participate in the actual exam, didn't mean there wasn't stuff to pay attention and learn about... ---------- Meanwhile, Dion waved off Elysia and Kyran, as they went off themselves. He really wanted to just watch and see what Elysia would do during this exam, as well as to see what Serafina would do, but... he also wanted to test his armor again... Last year, he didn't do that great, but so much had happened since then. So he soon had his armor transform onto him, and then ran off. ---------- [City Streets] "That's a pretty neat power you've got there!" a voice from directly below Soon-Lee's flying disc spoke up. It was probably a bit unexpected at least because he seemed to only be flying about 5 feet off the ground, but there was a red-haired girl wearing glasses and a long labcoat, underneath the disc, observing it. Closely. "Transmutation? Something someone built for you that you can summon? Something else? Tell me, I'm suuuuuuuper curious!!" Edited by Dark Phazon, May 22 2018, 10:18 PM.

-Horikoshi City- Crime Scene “You're right, we never should make assumptions,” Barry nodded to Didymus, “And even if this... cutting up... was to cover his actual death, whoever did it had to have a pretty twisted mind...” He shuddered slightly, finishing getting what he needed now. “I'll run back to the lab and start on some tests, Commander Pharah,” Barry said, “I'll let you know what we get.” Kanna's Office Building: The Twenty-Second Floor “You really have terrible security, you know.” Galv walked in, scowling towards Kanna now, one of his devices humming, running on his own power and creating a small field that distorted security devices around him, effectively making him invisible on cameras. It required a lot of juice to work, which is why he shut it off once he stepped into Kanna's office. He glared at his mother-in-law now. “We need to talk.” -City Island- North Safe Zone “I want to see what my cousin does,” Edda told Chloe, “It's his first year, so he has to join in...” He hadn't seen his cousin in... a very long time, he wasn't sure just how capable Jens was. “Honestly, tempting,” Cess said. “But I think I will sit this one out. I wanna scope out these new students...” East Streets A robot short circuited as Elysia blasted one, Kyran gently moving some dummies on some shadow stretchers, the two hurrying to another safe zone to drop them off... Skyscraper Alpha Blake moved through the building, locating dummies and using his shadows to carry them carefully, just like his sister was doing, counting on Samara to cover his back. North Side Streets Jens slashed his sword, destroying a robot that was attacking him, then glanced around. Most of the students were running forward now. He did need an edge... He could try randomly grabbing a student to borrow their Quirk, but... His eyes lit upon Kasumi and he moved carefully towards her. “Excuse me, miss!” Jens called out, waving with his free hand. “Would you perhaps wish to join forces?” Dark Alleyway A robot sparked, falling backwards as it was stabbed I'm not sure where she got the knife. Park Jimi smashed a robot, Hammah hauling a few dummies, pausing as Nobus began to appear now, using one hand to produce a laser sword, slashing at the Nobus. “...This is weird...” Jimi muttered as he smashed in the face of one robot. Chimichanga Stand Near an empty stand where Soon-Lee and Lara were, the stand suddenly burst open as a robot came from it, attempting to slam into him! “Not so fast, evil doer!” From the sky came a girl in a blue bunny suit, riding a giant spoon that smashed the robot as she landed, the girl flipping off the spoon and the curved edge of it, making it fly up where she caught it easily in one hand. “Never fear, Battle Bunny is here!” Sayuri declared, then paused as she just now seemed to notice Soon-Lee and Lara. “Oh! I'm sorry! Were you two fighting that robot?! I didn't mean to take your points!” (Feel free to have any characters show up in those locations for things and such!) City Island Chimichanga Stand "Well..." Soon-Lee started to explain to Lara, "It's a bit more complicated than that, but..." He was hesitant to go too far into detail, considering the nature of his powers, but at that moment, a robot attacked! Before Soon-Lee even had a chance to attack, that girl on the giant spoon arrived on the scene to make short work of the mechanical menace. "Oh, not at all, Ba--" Soon-Lee suddenly noticed her somewhat revealing bunny suit attire "buh-buh... boo... Battle Bunny!" he cleared his throat, blushing a bit under his hood. "I guess you already picked out a superhero name for yourself?" He looked at Sayuri and then to Lara and then sighed, "Guess I should reveal that I've done the same..." Soon-Lee was nervous about revealing his superhero persona for the first time. After years of being used to people fearing him, he was taking the initiative to be seen as a hero. Seeing Sayuri's costume being so... bold... had given him the added courage to reveal his own look. "I am..." he took the cloak and hood off, as they folded out into a big cape, revealing his costume underneath. "THE SPOON!" He was wearing silver tights with red accents. A big logo of a spoon adorned his chest. He had a shining silvery domino mask covering his face. His dark hair was out and a bit spikey, with the back tied in a braided tail. "...and incidentally, I couldn't help but take notice of your choice of transportation, Battle Bunny." North Side Streets "I'm not one to say no to a helping hand!" Kasumi responded, giving a thumbs up. "I'm Kasumi. Kasumi Yagami. Nice to meet ya!" |

City Island Chimichanga Stand "..So that's why you pulled out a spoon thing before!" the red haired girl exclaimed. "Does that mean you're powered by spoons then? Or is it just coincidental 'cause you think it's also a good battle-cry?" The girl was speaking at quite a high number of words per minute, but soon enough paused, reaching out with her left arm and giving a thumbs up. "Whatever the case, sounds cool!" With that, the girl quickly scurried over to observe Sayuri's spoon, now. "And yeah, you've got a spoon too," the girl then looked at her left hand, which she seemed to clench and expand a few times, while looking at it... before one of her fingers transformed into a spoon as well. "I guess I'll join the club," she then poked at Sayuri's spoon... with her finger spoon. "I don't have a fancy hero name all picked out or anything, and probably wouldn't amount to much of one, either. But if you guys are going big-time, remember my name! Lara Osborne! Hopefully you'd consider me for any of your hero-gadget-making needs!" Lara was beaming with a big smile, before sighing and deflating. "...though I can't do much now but look over stuff 'cause my combat arm is back at the academy, since they told us to drop our stuff, so I've gotta wait for it to fly here..." City Island Chimichanga Stand "No worries, Lara. It's good to meet you." Soon-Lee stated. "My superhero name might be The Spoon, but you can call me Soon-Lee. Soon-Lee Chon." Soon-Lee took out three spoons from out of his cape (how he's able to keep them in there only he knows), and held them out. "I just need matter to convert into energy to use my quirk. It could be anything, really, but I just like using plastic spoons since they're expendable, easy for me to get lots of, and fit in with the whole theme I have going on." |

-City Island- Chimichanga Stand Sayuri smiled brightly, glad that these two were not angry for her wrecking the robot and getting points instead of them. She gasped at Soon-Lee's costume, clapping happily. “Oh good! I was a little worried no one else would be wearing a costume... Mom didn't think I should but I wanted to anyways!” She patted her spoon, which was partially embedded in the ground, nodding to Lara and The Spoon. “And it's nice to meet you, The Spoon and Lara! I'm Battle Bunny! ...as you might have heard... But you can call me Sayuri if yah like!” Sayuri smiled, then looked at Lara's arm. “Woooooow. Battle arm? But that arm you have is pretty cool too!” She paused as she heard Soon-Lee's real name, tilting her head slightly. “Oh! The Spoon, and you're name... Spoony! I'mma call you Spoony!” Trying to talk her out of it probably won't work. North Side Streets Jens smiled, nodding towards Kasumi. “Excellent. My name is Jens Adwr.” He decided to leave out that he was a Prince, he was actively trying not to sound pompous. He might be arrogant but he wasn't a dummy. “In the sake of openness, my Quirk is a copying ability. I can copy a single Quirk by touching someone or by observing it long enough in action. But even without it I consider myself an able fighter with a sword here,” Jens said, hefting the sword up. If Kasumi attempted to check it out her powers, she might be surprised. It was definitely metal, but something was telling her that her powers wouldn't quite work with it... |

[City Island] [North Safe Zone] Connor quickly moved to Sarai's side, and smiled, putting his arm around her. “Hey, it'll be okay! Don't worry.” He knew Sarai wasn't actually after a hero's license, but a job at the Association – but the Association often made people take some of the same tests, because they worked alongside heroes. He smiled to her, trying to keep her spirits up. “We'll be fine. Just stick close to me, okay?” Connor paused, and then closed his eyes. Slowly several lights began to appear across his back, and little ribbons of golden light flowed out, swaying behind him for a moment before they suddenly solidified and became a pair of large, almost angelic-looking wings! “Hold on tight, Sarai!” Connor suddenly scooped her up in his arms as his wings started to beat and a moment later the two were soaring through the skies above this artificial city! […] “Hmph. So this is what passes for heroes...” A tall, blonde boy in a black tracksuit walked up, not far from where Cess, Shimera and Strobe were standing, although it seemed like he was paying no attention to them. Instead he was watching the various students running into the city. He paused, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a bag of snacks. He popped a few into his mouth as he watched. Although he was also a new student, he didn't seem like he was participating at all. […] Bianca bit her lip as she looked around. This was a very combat-oriented test, and she... had no combat abilities. She didn't know if she could rescue a single doll! She looked around, trying to find the people she'd been talking to before they were all warped away. Maybe she could at least help someone else... [East Streets] Suddenly, a large green robot dropped down in front of Elysia and Kyran! It was about the size of a person, and twirling a ball on a chain above its head! ![]() With a loud beep, it threw the ball towards Kyran! [Skyscraper Alpha] As Blake ran to grab at the dummies, a robot emerged from behind a pillar! ![]() It gave a shrill sound, like a haunting echo, and threw a bone at him – the bone was glowing and missed hitting Blake, but it hit the wall behind him and exploded out with concussive force! [Chimichanga Stand] Suddenly, nearby the stand, a large robot dropped down! It was huge, red and muscly. It looked towards Sayuri, Lara and Soon-Lee, and suddenly started to charge at them! ![]() However – as it got within ten feet of them, a young woman with green hair and bright, glowing orange eyes flew down and slammed her fist into the robot's head, knocking it off with ease. She landed beside it and sighed a bit. “Honestly... making us fight robots... I'm kind of offended.” Vespa sighed, as she crossed her arms, and then looked over at the group. “Hey! … is that a Chimichanga stand?” [Horikoshi City] [Crime Scene] “I agree, the cuts to the body not necessarily indicate a Quirk. However...” Fareeha looked around the room. The couch, the walls, the ceiling – they all had deep gashes in them. “There's a lot of damage to the room. Very deep cuts in some very hard materials. It's not impossible to do with a normal sword and normal human strength, but it's very unlikely... and what's more... it would be unnecessary.” She shook her head. “Why slash up the ceiling? Remember, our victim's only Quirk was translation. And while he was certainly in good physical condition and had extensive training, I doubt he was really jumping around on the ceiling. Now it's possible we're dealing with someone with such extensive mental issues and rage that they just decided to damage the property on a whim, or for fun... but...” She frowned. “... It seems unlikely. We of course can't and SHOULDN'T rule out any possibility without more evidence, but right now the most likely course is that whoever did this had some level of enhanced abilities.” She then looked to Didymus, and frowned. “I think you're absolutely right. It's absolutely possible that whoever did this isn't Registered, but checking our records is at least a good place to start. Though I do doubt this was this person's first crime...” She shook her head. “Look at the cuts on the body. They're smooth and even. I'm no forensic scientist, but I've read enough autopsy reports to know that a first-timer usually has far less even cuts. There's no hesitation marks. Whoever did this had no qualms about dismembering a body, and likely has experience.” Then she gave a rather grim smile. “... But you're right. It's entirely plausible this crime was completely random. Sometimes violence has no meaning.” She nodded to Barry. “Try to hurry for once, Allen.” |

Horikoshi City -Crime Scene- Didymus listened as Pharah went on about the extensive damage to the room-the notion that incredible feats such as these sword marks pointed to quirks rubbed him the wrong way, admittedly, but he had to admit she was right that that was the most likely suspect... He looked to Barry. "A twisted mind, perhaps, or simply a very, very callous one-one that would not shy away at a...gruesome act...like this...all in service of a cold, logical goal-misdirection. Of course, that's merely ONE theory amongst many right now." As Pharah talked about the quality and nature of the cuts, Didymus raised an eyebrow-how much of this job really entailed investigation and forensics like this? He was kind of just expecting to be an administrative assistant...well, publicly. In any case, he spoke again. "...I see. Though admittedly, a first-timer may also go all out...though really, this isn't my field of expertise." he said. "In any case, we've done what we came here for-we've identified the body. I suggest we confirm this to the detectives and let them get on with their work, and get on with our own, even if the two are one and the same...the point is, I think we've done what we can here." |

[Horikoshi City] [Crime Scene] “It's possible that a first-time could do this. There have been cases, but statistically speaking it's not the case. Of course... we still don't know what kind of killer we're dealing with. The gruesome nature suggests either some manner of incredible violent sociopath, or it was a rage crime. Someone who was close to the victim and had reasons to hate them intensely.” Pharah sighed a bit, and then gave a grim chuckle. “... Well, speculation won't get us anywhere. Let's get outside and-” The wall of the house suddenly exploded, violently! A hole the size of a truck was blasted into its side, sending debris in every direction and resulting in a deafening 'BOOM'. Several of the officers outside jumped, some fell down, and many went for their sidearms while scrambling for cover. As her ears rang, Fareeha felt the terribly familiar sensation of a nearby explosion. She growled as she jumped back to her feet. “Take defensive positions! GET DOWN!” |

Horikoshi City -Crime scene- When the explosion rocked the side of the house, Didymus was blown off his feet. A sudden explosion, pain, PAIN everywhere, feeling himself knocked against something hard, the sudden, unexpected nature of it... ...fear shot through him, both from being startled and the whiff of a memory... No. You have a weapon...get to some cover... he thought. Hearing Pharah yell for a moment, he instinctively looked about for a defensive position, not thinking of anything else...before realizing-there WERE no defensive positions. "THERE'S NO DEFENSIVE POSITION IN A WIDE EXPOSED SPACE LIKE THIS!" he yelled. He looked to the door deeper into the house-get some walls between them and the point of attack. But what good would that do? Whatever was happening clearly had the means to break through walls. Heck, walls could become deadly debris-flingers...they were kind of screwed... No you aren't. You didn't WANT to do this, and you'll have to do a LOT of explaining both to anyone who sees you, AND General Solomon...but... he thought to himself... ...and he did crawl behind a wall for a moment, dragging his stillbriefcase behind him. He reached into his pocket with a trembling hand, drawing a key. He used it to unlock his briefcase, then unlocked the handcuff-noting that the force of the explosion had almost sent his briefcase flying out of his hand...with his arm still handcuffed. He wondered if his arm had been injured. He DID tighten his grip reflexively as he was startled, but...no, if it had been strained, or dislocated, it would hurt more, right? Or was just the adrenaline? Ugh, he'd think about it later...for now... ...inside the briefcase was a glove. A very, very advanced glove that was a smaller part of a larger suit. He did not have the full suit with him. "Father, grant Thy favor and protection, please, I ask..." he whispered, patting his chest where the cross necklace was hanging beneath his business attire. He then took the glove, sliding it onto his left hand, covering all the way up his arm to just below his elbow. "Activating...link with user established." he heard it let out. He then held it forward, and from it shot a force field-an almost transparent blue energy shooting out, forming a hemisphere in front of him. He ran back into the room where the crime scene had taken place, now projecting this force field in the direction of the blast. "We...should probably push forward. Check out where that came from...stay close! I can make this shield us all around, but only in a certain radius!" Of course, he did not address why an "Observations" agent would suddenly be sporting this piece of technology. Outside, Mt. Lady jumped, hearing the explosion...then ran in its direction! If the property was destroyed before she even enlarged, she wouldn't have to worry about being fined for it! |

-Horikoshi City- Kanna's Office Building: The Twenty-Second Floor “You really have terrible security, you know.” "Usually people aren't stupid enough to come into my office uninvited" Kanna said, not looking up from the paperwork for a long before heaving a sigh and meeting Galv's eye. "What do you want Hawkins?" [...] Samara didn't quite understand why Blake wanted to save fake people but she did her part, disappearing and reappearing to blast bots whenever they got even a little close to Blake. Eventually she looked back at the boy frowning a bit. "What is the point of this?" she finally asked. [...] "Well he's your cousin, you've sparred with him right?" Chloe asked, still sitting in er spot, looking up at her boyfriend "How do you think he'll do?" -City Island- North Safe Zone Sarai gave a little (shaky) breath of relief when Connor moved against her, reassuring her that everything would be okay despite the fact that they were just literally tossed into their first (and possibly most important) test of their schooling...A test that would set the foundation of the rest of their time at Kohei. No pressure. None at all. Before the girl could utterly panic a bright light caught her eye and she looked up to see Connor's wings appearing. A second later he lifted her up and the two were skybound. She quickly made a move to grab onto her boyfriend tightly, wrapping her arms around his neck as she stared down at the ground below them. |

[City Island] [Chimichanga Stand] "Spoony...?" Soon-Lee asked Sayuri, but before anymore could be said about it, a robot appeared and was dispatched almost as quickly as it had appeared. Soon-Lee hadn't been getting many chances to show off what he could do, which made him a bit relieved... until he realized that he still needed to pass this exam. "Thanks for the assist." Soon-Lee said to Vespa, before she trailed off about the chimichangas. "There sure has been a lot of robots, but I have yet to see any dolls to rescue... I wonder if we're not looking hard enough..." Soon-Lee began to ask out loud. [North Side Streets] "Hey, that quirk is kind of similar to a friend of mine's." Kasumi stated in response to Jens. Kasumi took a look at Jens' sword. It certainly was remarkable looking. She brought her hand up just to sort of "sense" the metal with her quirk. "This isn't an ordinary sword, either, is it...?" |

[City Island] [Traffic Jam] Several unoccupied cars were piled up in front of a street light, creating the false image of a traffic jam. Inside several of the cars were dolls in need of rescue – and ramping across the roofs of the cars were several other robots – and these had scissors on their heads! Zhao gave a loud sigh, as he looked over at the robots rampaging above the cars. He stepped forward and waved. “Hey there! Can I get you to stop th-” One of the robots immediately whipped around and threw his scissors at the boy. Zhao raised his hand, channeling ki into his fist and let the blade catch on his hand – the blade ripped in half, sending each side of it flying on either side of his head. “Okay, gonna take that as a no.” Zhao gave a sigh. [Skyscraper] “We'll be okay, Sarai!” Connor called out as he flew them up to the roofs of one of the buildings. There were a group of dolls in the center of the roof, and a few robots running around the edges of the roof. “I'll deal with the robots, can you grab one of the dolls?” He landed on the edge of the roof, setting Sarai down. [Chimichange Stand] Vespa paused, and started to speak – but she wasn't talking to any of the people around the stand. “Vincent, can you identify a location of the dolls? We need to find them.” She paused, as if she could hear a voice no one else could, and then nodded. “Got it.” She looked over to Soon-Lee. “There's several dolls in a factory about a quarter of a mile ahead of us. Also several more of these robots. There are enough dolls for all of us to score points if you'd like to come with me.” [Horikoshi City] [Crime Scene] Pharah had a grenade launcher on her back, but it stayed there for the moment. This was a crime scene and she couldn't risk damaging it more than it had already been attacked. So she raised her right arm, charging the energy bean hidden inside her glove. When Didymus reacted by producing a super-advanced glove, and projecting a hologram that Reinhardt would have been jealous of, she raised an eyebrow. “Good going! We need to press out there and find the shooter!” Meanwhile, as Mt. Lady came around the building (followed by some detectives) they would find a figure on a hill in front of them – a man in a motorcycle outfit and helmet, sitting on the back of a bike and holding a large, strange gun. He fired a blast at the approaching cops and it hit the ground in front of them, sending out a powerful shockwave and knocking several down! |

City Island North Safe Zone “Aww. Okay, I'll stay here too.” Shimera sat down next to Cess. Watching wasn't quite as fun for her as actually doing, but she knew she'd still have chances in the future to do cool things. That's what the academy was about. “Hmph. So this is what passes for heroes...” Shimera looked up to see the stranger close-by. “Hm, I don't recognize him,” she said quietly. The Park Kay followed Jimi and Hammah to the park. Of course, at a distance. She didn't want it to look obvious that she was scared of being alone. She also didn't want to look creepy...which she probably did, considering she was following them. Before she could ask “what the hell is a Nobbu?” mini-Nobbus had descended! “Crap, I can't fight these things! Come on, think...” She pulled out from her pocket an object that was about the length of a pen and the width of a quarter. She pushed a button. The object extended to about twice its length and three small, metal claws protruded from the top of it. Kay did a little tinkering in her spare time. Nothing huge (certainly not what she considered Gear), but this was her best invention. She pressed another button and the device made a sound very similar to that of a taser. That's basically what this thing was. If a robot got close enough, she could at least stun it and save her some time to get away. In the meantime, she would try to stay low. The dolls were her priority. She focused hard on her surroundings, trying her best to obtain some sort of vision or find a doll without one. Traffic Jam A cheetah with a pink fringe raced between the many cars on the street. Summer was measuring her odds. She never fought in an urban setting, let alone walked in one. She wasn't sure how any of her animal forms would stack up against bots with sharp blades. She would have to be crafty. She pounced up toward a robot, and almost in a blink the cheetah became a gorilla, which reached to grab the robot's face and smash it onto the pavement below. Horikoshi City From atop the skyscraper that Roarar had been perched on, they watched the students disappear toward one of the training islands. As much as they wanted to watch, the Eye of Heart had a job to do. Roarar changed to their anthropomorphic form which enhanced their senses. Their snout smelled smoke. Their large ears picked up the sounds of explosions. They quickly turned to the direction of the crime scene. On instinct, they spread their wings and took off in that direction. They had to see what was happening and see if they could stop it. Surely other heroes were there already, but Roarar had to play their part as well. |

Horikoshi City -Crime Scene- As Pharah spoke, Didymus blinked, thinking that he had just said that...though he supposed that officially, this was Pharah's operation, and his own statement was perhaps, a bit lacking in assertiveness. He still had to work on that. Still, they were in agreement, and he began walking forward, the shield projected by his glove surrounding them in a hemisphere with the ground as its bottom/flat portion. As they advanced, Didymus saw the man on the motorcycle open fire on the cops, and spoke again. "There's our man! Open up! The shield won't block OUTGOING projectiles!" he called. He briefly considered drawing his own pistol, or even firing off the single heaviest round he had brought with him, but decided against both things. The former would be too inaccurate firing one-handed, the latter he didn't want to use unless he HAD to... ...as they advanced, Mt. Lady was knocked off her feet from the shockwave, but saw her chance-this was a suspect! This was a criminal!
