The streets of Shinjuku were oddly desolate as the flames burned against the backdrop of the night sky. People ran, screamed and hid – but most of them knew there was little hope. In the middle of the street stood a tall, intimidating man who strode through the wreckage with glee on his face. He wore an impeccable black suit and slowly adjusted his tie as he stared out at the myriad of frightened faces looking back at him. The attack in Tokyo was the largest one to date – a symbol to the world of the power the Legion of Super Villains had amassed over the last few years. As he stared out at the faces of the panicked populace, a sinister smile stretched across his face – he had won, and today the world would finally know that it was his. It was all his – just like the name suggested. All-For-One. The man who had united the criminals and villains together under a single banner. The man who no hero could stop. Today was just the first step of his grander conquest – Japan would be under his control in a matter of days, and then he would move to the mainland. China and Russia would follow, and then Europe – and then he would move on America. The world's superpowers would watch impotently as he crushed them one-by-one. Those who did not follow him would die. All-For-One stopped as he heard a child screaming, and turned to look down the street. There was a young boy trapped beneath a destroyed car – All-For-One recognized the car as one that one of the would-be heroes had thrown at him earlier. The sound of the screaming child was like a soothing tune to his ears. A symbol of his power, and the fear he inspired in all who laid eyes on him. “Ahahahahahahahahaahah!” All-For-One froze as he heard the sound of joyous laughter. It wasn't the cruel stinging laughter of his followers; this was a sound dripping with joy and peace. To think anyone could laugh like that in the middle of the attack- “It's fine now! Why? Because I am here!” All-For-One turned slowly to see the man who had appeared out of the flames. As tall and broad as a mountain and inexplicably grinning from ear to ear, despite the carnage. There was only one man foolish enough to exude hope when all hope was lost. As the child trapped beneath the car watched, the villainous man who had become a symbol of terror and unstoppable horror to the entire world finally met his match. All-For-One, the seemingly invincible monster was defeated. His horror would be forgotten, replaced by the legacy of a true hero – All Might. In the weeks following the Battle of Shinjuku, All Might became a household name. The fear of super villains and out-of-control heroes slowly started to fade, and to help insure that such a calamity would never occur again, new restrictions were placed on the use of Quirks. Special schools were created around the world to train those with Quirks, to teach them to control their amazing abilities and to use them responsibly and safely – and to instill in them 'the virtue of a true hero'. Of all these schools, the most prestigious and most important was Kohei Academy, a school built on a series of artificial islands in the pacific ocean. Many classes were taught, but this is the story of a very special group of students. . . the students who would carry on the legacy of true heroes . . . ![]() [Kohei Academy – Main Gate] A rather unassuming and unimpressive man stood near the grand gates outside of Kohei Academy. He wore exceptionally baggy pants and a shirt that was several sizes too big for his thin frame, and walked with his hands in his pockets up towards the gate. The school year was set to begin. Very soon, students from all across the globe would be arriving at the Academy. Some just here for their licenses, other here because they truly wanted to be heroes – and Toshinori hoped he would find one of them who was worthy. He stared out at the main gate, wondering when the students would arrive . . . |

-Kohei Academy- Main Gate A short young man with messy red hair beamed into the sun, blinking as he looked around, producing a pair of sunglasses to cover his blue eyes. “Finally here...” Blake said, knowing his siblings were somewhere around here as well, but right now what was important was that he would finally get the training to be a Hero... “Think The Professor is going to be a good teacher?” Jimi asked Hammah as they got off the bus, a chicken sitting on Hammah's backpack. “Well, he taught us, after all...” Hammah pointed out. “I bet he'll do fine!” A tall young man with blond hair, dressed in green, grinned as he stretched, looking around at the other students. “This should be pretty interesting! Lots of people with cool powers...” Edda said, mostly to himself. He was determined to prove himself among everyone here. At the gate itself, walking up to the man in baggy clothes, was a short, tanned man with a stubble, using a cane to help him get by. “Looks like the students are starting to arrive,” Ethan said to the man, smirking. “Think they'll have what it takes?” |

[Horikoshi] [???] ... It was burning. Everything was burning. The walls surrounding him, bathed in flame. The trees that he slowly passed, alight in a conflagration that aimed to sear off skin and muscle and bone. The ground itself, licked by flames as even the water burned. The sky above him, a bright orange-red as the very air burst into flames. It stifled, but didn't burn. His breath came short and rapid, unable to fuel his lungs with enough oxygen, but the heat itself didn't bother. A hellish landscape that choked with ash and smoke and burning dust, but didn't burn HIM. And the corpses. His friends, staring blankly as their flesh melted from their features under the heat. His parents, their eyes lifeless as they slowly turned to ash. Every face he has seen and known and many he had only glimpsed once in his life, scattered along the narrow road he walked like discarded toys from a younger age, some still twitching with agony and others truly lifeless. And through it all, he simply continued to walk, one foot following the other, making step after step and never looking back. Because he knew that if he stopped for just a moment, he would suffocate. If he paused for even a second to look over his shoulder, he would be lost. He had to walk. He had to continue. He HAD to make it. He HAD to survive this hellscape, even if no other did. He WOULD survive. Undeniably, unquestionably, no matter how much he lost along the way, he would SURVIVE and he would BREATHE, he could FEEL the clear breeze ahead, he KNEW that this ash and smoke and fire didn't last forever. He stretched a hand out before him as though seeking, trying to gulp in nonexistent oxygen, his sight swimming and tunneling as he stepped... stepped... Stepped... And then, his vision was full of flame. It took the form of a majestic bird, filled his vision completely, filled his lungs and heart and BEING, and he knew nothing but fire... ----------------------------------------------------------- [Airplane] He woke with a start and a gasp of air, his consciousness jumping into reality with a snap that was not unlike a rubber band finally releasing tension. He experimentally took a deep breath, as if afraid that he would once again choke on ash and lack of air, but only the cool and conditioned breeze entered his lungs as his heart settled from its racing pattern. That old nightmare... The boy with red hair blinked a few times, getting his eyes adjusted to the lighting around him. Sometime during the transit, he apparently fell asleep and now it was already morning. The light of dawn was shining through the illuminator window to reveal an endless oceanscape, with a set of islands closing in fast. It was quite the view, and the young man wasted no time pressing his face against the glass and audibly displaying his awe as he got his first glimpse of the place that would hopefully teach him how to control his gift. Well, and hopefully provide the facilities required to not burn himself to ash in the process. "Whooooooa... That looks BALLER..." the red-haired young man grinned widely, peeled away from the window and picked up the pair of headphones that slipped off his ears sometime during his sleep. Putting them on, he dove into his pocket, pulled out a phone, clicked a screen... Then frowned and clicked it again. And again. Then clicked the side of the phone. "... Oh, come on, out of battery already? I am going to find whoever thought it was a bright idea to cap batteries at four hours, and I am going to do something... Unpleasant..." Stuffing his headphones and phone away, he once more took a look outside the window and grinned as the airplane made its final circle and aimed right at the landing strip at Hirokishi airport. He couldn't wait to get off this cramped flying box of people and finally step into a new life. He just couldn't wait. |

[Kohei Academy] [Main Gate] Toshinori turned his head to see Ethan hobbling over, and he gave one of his grim smiles. In this form it was hard for him to look anything but grim. He gave a thumb's up. “Of course! Ethan my old friend, among the students now arriving are the future of heroes! Some of them will falter, of course, but others will soar high – and some of them will be absolutely amazing!” He paused, and slowly that dark grin became a much brighter grin – and the one scrawny man was suddenly much larger, his body muscled and his jaw strong – and standing beside Toshinori was All Might! “And one of them . . . one of them will be something even more spectacular! Ahahahahahah!” “I can't believe it! I'm really here!” A young woman with icy blue hair and piercing eyes to match stepped out of a taxi and excitedly squealed as she gazed out at the Academy campus. She wore a white hoodie with a blue stripe down the side and an old pair of jeans, and grabbed for a couple of bags from the back of the taxi before paying the driver. “I'm actually at Kohei! This is the start of something really cool!” Bianca Bowie smiled brightly, as she dashed towards the campus. [Horikoshi City] [Solomon Industries Building] At a large, and unusually round building in Horikoshi's expansive city, a trio of unusual youngsters were getting ready for their first day at Kohei as well. “zzzzz...no... no more ice cream... zzzzz.... can't eat another bite....” A young woman was sprawled out in her bed, snoring away the morning as one of her legs dangling off the edge of the bed. In the doorway of her room were two of her 'siblings' – although you would never know from looking at the trio. The woman on the bed had jet black hair, with fiery the bangs on the right side and a portion of the rest colored a fiery red. The other siblings each had bright, almost-glowing orange eyes and mossy green hair. The boy had dark skin, while the girl's was light. Both stared at the sleeping girl and sighed. “... She's gonna miss the first day of school...” Vincent, the boy, sighed deeply as he ran his hand through his hair. “What should we do?” “What do you mean 'what should we do'?” Vespa, the girl, raised an eyebrow. “What else CAN we do but...” She walked across the room, over to where the sleeping girl was still mumbling and reached out and poked at her side with one finger – and then delivered a slight, but noticeable, electric shock. Immediately the slumbering girl was jolted awake – quite literally – and yelped loudly. “AUGH! DAMN IT VESPA, WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THAT!?” “I don't care.” Vespa shrugged. “You're gonna be late for school.” “Ha-ha, I got my third Master's when I was thirteen, I haven't set foot inside a school in over a dec- oh dear sweet merciful crabcakes, you mean the hero school. CRAAAAAAAP!” Verity Solomon immediately sprang out of bed, throwing her blanket away with careless abandon. “Get the stuff ready!” She yelled loudly as she started to disrobe and ran towards the bathroom. “Everything is ready.” Vincent called with a sigh. “I took the liberty of taking care of everything already, since I knew you'd sleep in.” “Good! You're the best Vinny!” Verity called out over the sound of the shower. “What about breakfa-” “We'll grab something on the way.” Vespa called, crossing her arms. “We don't have time.” “Okay, okay!” The shower switched off and after a few moments Verity returned to the room and grabbed a rather... eccentric... outfit from her closet. Dark slacks and a crimson red jacket with gold trimming and large frilly shoulder-pads. It looked like a cross between a discolored lab-coat and a Ringmaster's outfit. “You're not seriously wearing that, are you?” Vespa raised an eyebrow. “Oh shuddap little Miss. Turtleneck! It's a little thing called style, which I don't remember programming you with!” Verity frowned. “And I thank God every day you didn't subject me to your sense of fashion.” Vespa responded flatly. |

Horikoshi Off the coast of Horikoshi, a boat was arriving to the docks. Upon that boat were quite a few excited young people. One of them was Kay, a country girl who gazed upon the city in sheer awe. She was hypnotized by the magnificent sight and by the thought of finally going to Kohei Academy. She bounced in her boots, almost not noticing the weight of her backpack and suitcases. One day, while watching television by her lonesome, an ad for Kohei played. She obtained a vision of her standing at the Academy's gates among a crowd of people her age. A feeling of excitement had rushed over her and she told her parents. Her mother berated her for it. “None of this 'vision' business!” she would cry. “There's no such thing as future-telling!” Yet here she was. The boat had docked and Kay rushed out to take the bus. She was excited and nervous and impatient the entirety of the 15 minute ride. She had waited and worked for this for most of her life and she couldn't stand another second of anticipation. And then, she was here. As clear as her vision years ago, she stood in front of the gates of the famous Kohei Academy. She felt like her heart was going to explode then and there. She couldn't hold it any longer! She double-fist-pumped the air and exclaimed “I'm here!! I'm here!!! Take THAT, Mom! And shove it up your butt!” Kay approached the gates laughing almost manically. – Not too far away from the Academy, a winged figure with lavender hair was perched atop a building and eating a bag of junk food. “Looks like the kids are showing up,” they said to themself. Ah, Roarar remembered when they were a freshman. The excitement, the anxiety, the feeling of intensity that came with that dawning realization that they had a shred of hope of becoming a hero. They grinned, sharp teeth gleaming in the sunshine of a new day. They had come to realize that they were a hero now! When on the clock, they were called Eye of Heart, after the shape of their pupils. Roarar never really understood why their Quirk had them covered in heart-shaped scales in Dragon Form. They just went with it. It provided good distraction while they roasted their enemies' feet. Roarar continued watching people flood toward the school. They'd certainly get up and leave if duty called, but for now things were pretty quiet. |

Heat. Flame. Smoke. Ash. The choking smell of death, all around... "What's wrong?" a female voice taunted. He slumped up against an overturned car, almost too terrified to move... "Aren't you supposed to be the guardians of tradition?" the voice spat. He could hear footsteps coming closer. She was hunting. "For God and country, right?!" she shouted. "...or is it...that country is founded on flaws and weakness and wickedness?!" she said. He reached out, slowly...there was a combat knife that an explosion had blown in here...he reached for it, trembling hands grasping at the handle and holding it close... "...and maybe it's that that..."God"...of yours...well..." she chuckled, then spit. "Face it. You're obsolete. No more tradition's chains shall bind us!" she cried. He peeked out from behind his cover, seeing her kick over the charred remains of one of his fellow midshipmen. She was getting closer. He pressed himself flat again against the car... I...I...if I... he thought, afraid to even whisper. ...I'm going to die here. This freaking pyropath is going to kill me. Just like she's killed my classmates and- "If any of you are still alive out there...well, I'd tell you to pray, but..." she let out a sickeningly girlish giggle. He heard her boots hitting the ground, and the sound of another charred skull being crushed. ...for the sake of all that's freaking good, Didymus! he thought, or heard in his mind, or both...If you're going to freaking die here, at least do it on your feet, weapon in your hand, like a man. Not sniveling like a freaking steak cow before the butcher. He felt a pang of shame at those words, but tried to steady himself. Her boots were getting closer...he could hear... ...F...Father...please...I don't ask for my own glory, nor even necessairly for victory, though...if if please Thee, I would like to exorcise this demon...but please...grant me this moment to stand...and receive me as Thine own, please... With hands still trembling, he raised a cross around his neck to his lips, and silently pressed it against them. He then gripped the knife, and looked out-she was RIGHT THERE, just passing the car he was behind...he slowly positioned his legs for a lunge, and as she turned, possibly hearing him, he pushed off! She whipped around her head, brought up her hands, fire already sparking in them, just in time for him to throw his body weight to the side, his hand gripping the knife plunging in a heavy sweep at her neck...he felt something warm, and expected he'd feel pain, or something, afterwards...but the pain didn't come. Instead, he felt a more comfortable warmth, as he saw her eyes roll back, the fire in her hands go out, and her body go limp...he kept pressing the knife in, feeling SOMETHING slide all the more out of place... ...her body collapsed, and he withdrew his knife, looking down, seeing the red substance on his shirt...without thinking of anything but to ensure the kill, he stabbed his now bleeding out enemy in several other vital areas... ...then he turned to the side and vomited. Horikoshi City, Association Building Didymus adjusted his tie. The suit was nice, though he wondered if constantly wearing one would rob it of its special nature. In any case, it was the first day of his new job-well, his public/day job. He took a deep breath and was quiet for a moment. On top of the fact that it was a new job, and that was always a tad rough, he was confident, being himself, that his co-workers at the foundation would NOT approve of his past. At least, his co-workers at THIS part of the Association. Honestly, though, it was a local news story, sure, but it probably didn't get THAT far...in any case, he eventually stepped forward, looking for his desk and where to check in. Time to, at least for now, be a bureaucrat...if nothing else, he told himself, he believed in what he was doing-one part of it at least. And the pay in any case was certainly nice... He pressed the cross necklace he had on under his suit-the same one from THAT day-and stepped into the building... Kohei Academy A ways off from the main entrance stood a masked-indeed, a fully-costumed figure, with a bag of chips in one hand that she was nonchalantly popping into her mouth as she watched the influx of new students. "As if keeping up with all the older pros wasn't hard ENOUGH..." she mused. "Whatever. We'll see if any of these kids look special...I could use a housekeeper come internship time..." she thought outloud. Edited by The Vidit of Light, Apr 17 2018, 11:17 PM.

[Kohei Academy] Bianca smiled as she hurried towards the main gate, and she noticed someone else coming up quickly. She paused for a moment and patted her head, as if checking on a hat that was not present, and then seemingly satisfied she rushed over. “Hiya! You seem happy!” Bianca had noticed Kay's uproarious laughter as she approached the gate, and decided to say hello. Bianca was determined to meet some people, after all. She knew at least one person she hoped would be showing up for the semester, but aside from that she didn't know a single soul. [Horikoshi City] [Bus Station] “... Hey, wake up.” . . . “... Come on, get up, kid! Your bus is leaving!” One of the station workers frowned as he awkwardly prodded at a young man who was sleeping sprawled out on the side of a bench. The bus station was unusually crowded for the hour, and several of the comers and goers were the more eccentric sort – students, heading towards the Academy for the first day of the semester. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry – everyone, that was, except for a dark-haired young man who was sound asleep, drool collecting in his cheek. The station attendant finally grew annoyed, and prodded at him a bit harder with the edge of a binder – and finally as the hard plastic dug into his cheek, the man sat up and yawned, wiping his chin on the back of his sleeve. “Whazzat?” The brown-eyed man rubbed at his eye, groaning a bit. His hair was messy and held back by a headband. He looked around and then stared up at the bus station attendant. “Hey, how come you woke me up, I was just at the best part of my dream – a whole river of pudding, and these sexy pudding nyphms were swimming around and feeding me and -” “Kid, kid, shut the hell up!” The attendant shuddered. “Ain't nobody wanna hear that! Besides, your bus is leaving! I mean from your get up I imagine you're one of them hero wannabes.” Zhao blinked again, as his head whipped around in time to see the bus pull away from the station. He sighed deeply. “Ah, man... what a bother... thanks for wakin' me up, pops!” He waved, grabbed his suitcase, and started sprinting after the bus – he was surprisingly fast on his feet. [Coffee Shop] “You've got everything you need?” “Yep!” “Did you remember toothpaste? Sunscreen? Underpants?” “... Moira, I'm not ten and you're not mom; so can you please chill?” At a small coffee house in the middle of Horikoshi's business district, a young man with bright eyes and burning hair smiled up at his elder sister as she helped him carry his bags to the door. The coffee shop was both a place of business, and housed a loft above it where the siblings had lived for the past few years. Moira Jackson smiled, looking down at her brother and suddenly pulling the boy into a one-armed hug – her other hand was busy holding her cup of coffee, which she was almost never seen without. “I just worry about you Connor... but I shouldn't. You're an adult, and you're off to one hell of a weird place.” Connor smiled. “Don't worry, I'll be good. Just promise me you'll hire some part-time help to make up for me not being around as much?” “I'll consider it.” Moira shrugged, tucking some of her hair behind her ear. “Get goin', Connor. You don't wanna be late.” “Seeya Moira!” Connor called out happily as he darted out of the shop, a backpack and a suitcase both firmly in place as he dashed off towards the ferry that would take him to the Academy Island. [Association Building] Around the time Didymus entered the building, another man entered. He looked a bit older, and wore an impeccable white suit, tie and fancy hat – but the man's eyes and hair were dark, and the smirk on his face seemed almost predatory. He brushed right past Didymus without a word, walking over to the large counter in the middle of the room. The woman behind the counter smiled – until she saw who it was. “Oh. They're expecting you upstairs.” “Good. I'm not checking-in. Buzz me up.” The man growled slightly, and then approached the door without any hesitation. He pulled on it, and it did not budge – but after he cast a glance at the woman behind the counter she reluctantly pressed a button, and the door opened. |

I'll bite your legs off!

Association Building Didymus paid little mind as the man in the white suit brushed past him without a word, suspecting that maybe it would be best if he didn't have to speak with anyone with whom he had no business. He noted, from his conversation, that this person seemed rude; which only INCREASED his conviction that it may be best to only speak on business-related affairs-it certainly gave him a bad first impression of the people at the office. That's a lonely way to go through life... he thought. Perhaps, but HERE... he thought back to himself, ...HERE, of all places...at least, at THIS part of my job...it may indeed be best. He stepped into the building, going through whatever check-ins and presenting whatever ID was required of him, before turning to head to the elevator and seek out his desk... Classified Facility General James Solomon sat at his desk, looking over the dossiers provided to him. "These are ALL of them?" he asked. "Yes sir." his aide said. "All of whom are reporting to work today, as scheduled." Solomon sighed. "Honestly, I was hoping for a FEW more. But we'll work with what we have. This worked well enough back home...let's see how it fares here." His aide grinned a bit. "If all else fails, the rest of the world can just call on our team, right?" Solomon grinned himself, chuckling. "Some of these men may be JOINING our team, if this works out well. We've quite a few of our countrymen here...but otherwise, yes, they can call us. Of course, that's always something of a lose-lose proposition for us..." he shook his head. "In any case, we'll begin their training soon enough. In the meantime...let's go over the equipment requisitions, see what's here and what we're still waiting on...and see if all the information we've been granted access to has actually arrived yet...perhaps we'll use our candidate's day jobs to gather it, if nothing else..." Kohei Academy Mt. Lady dug her hand into her bag of chips, scraping out the last few crumbs and popping them into her mouth, before yawning. "Seeing the new recruits wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped..." she mused. "...of course, all they're doing is walking in. Maybe they'll publicize just what they can do..." she said. Briefly, she considered becoming gigantic and screaming out welcoming phrases to the new students, but decided against it. Such a stunt would be sure to get the cameras pointed her way, but would also probably get her a stern talking to by the Association, and possibly the school staff themselves. To say nothing of the potential of collateral...so she simply leaned against a nearby signpost and kept watching, wishing her snack wasn't finished already. |

GRAPPLING HOOK!

|
[Horikoshi City] While a good majority of the young people of Horikoshi were rushing to make sure they weren't late on the first day of classes a dark-haired woman was just now making her way home. She wore the same short green dress she has the night before, the only difference was a oversized men's jacket drapped over her bare shoulders to protect her from the slightly brisk fall morning. She looked absolutely exhausted but rushed along towards her house- hoping and praying she wasn't too late to see her children off. When she finally slipped through the door Melanie gave a sigh, looking around the dark sitting room of their two story brownstone. It was empty which meant she must have missed them. She hated missing things like this, it seemed so unmotherly to. But when her mother called - and eventually ordered her to stay the night- she had no choice but to oblige. [Kohei Academy] A black car pulled up at the gates of Kohei Academy, a man rushing out of the drivers seat to open the sleek black door. As he did a tanned skin young woman climbed out clad in an oversized sweater and leggings, her long brown hair wavy around her face. She clutched a slightly overstuffed messenger bag, but nothing else indicating she was staying. All the while she spoke on a phone, wedged between her ear and shoulder, as she shuffled everything and offered her driver a grateful smile. "I'm sure dad" Sarai continued, sounded annoyed yet still pleasant- the girl knowing she could not be snippy with her father- especially considering the gift he was giving her. "I promise i'll be careful - yes, it's just me- no boys-" Sarai fell silent for a moment as her father spoke again before she went very red in the face "Baba! No! -" before stringing off into a ramble of Hindi in order to protect herself from the public embarrassment of what she had to tell her father. Finally after a few moments it seemed as if the man relented, letting her hang up with a slight groan and give a proper thanks to her driver before he left. Attending Kohei was a dream come true for Sarai, she had been dying to study here since she was a small child. Unfortunately two things were slight hinderances in that goal: One, she had no powers of her own. Two, her father was....Morally ambiguous at best. He wasn't a villain per se, but he definitely was no hero. That's why having her own apartment was such a victory. It would allow her to study in peace (considering getting ahead at school was a lot harder - but not impossible - with no power of your own) and it would allow her to distance herself from her family. She loved them dearly - but she wanted to become her own person- and Kohei was just the place to finally do it. [...] “Finally here...” "You make here sound like some kind of vacation little brother. It may be Kohei, but a schools and school" A young woman came up behind him, a grin on her lips as she looked down at her younger brother. Joyce graduated last year, but still felt the need to turn up on the first day, if for nothing but to embarrass her younger siblings and kiss them goodbye. To prove this fact Joyce made it a point to hug Blake tightly at that moment, just as some pretty girls his age walked by. [...] “This should be pretty interesting! Lots of people with cool powers...” "Cooler than mine? I hope not!" With the type of hug that would knock a guy off his feet (literally considering her powers) Chloe appeared, embracing Edda with the strength of a tiger pouncing on a rabbit. Luckily she spared him her full strength- instead allowing him to keep his feet on the ground and his butt off the pavement. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Airplane- Not too far from Lavan was a brown haired young woman who looked nervous. Her brother was waiting for her at the airport, but she had come here alone. “Hmmm... Maybe I should have brought more crayons...” Erin said, mostly to herself. She pulled out her own phone, which seemed to still have charge, checking something on it. -Kohei Academy- Main Gate Ethan couldn't but smile at All Might's composure. There was something about the hero that made it seem like everything would be alright. “Hoping to find a successor?” Ethan asked, “Someone worthy of that title... Big shoes to fill.” Jimi and Hammah glanced towards Kay and Bianca as Kay shouted out about her mother. “Uhhhh... I guess you two are excited,” Hammah said, waving towards the two. “Hello! I'm Hammah, and this is my brother, Jimi. Nice to meet you two!” Edda oofed as Chloe semi-tackled him, though remaining on his feet. “Hey there Chloe,” Edda said, grinning, “You do have a pretty useful power for sure.” He put his arm around Chloe and hugged her back, “But powers aren't everything, you know! You should know that.” Blake smiled as Joyce hugged him, not minding in the slightest. “Sibling group hug!” “Ahhh, Kyran!” Suddenly two more girls were joining in on the hug, Kyran pulling Elysia in and hugging Blake and Joyce at the same time. “Hey Joyce!” Kyran grinned, “Glad you made it! Dad made sure we were all ready this morning... Mom hadn't gotten home yet from helping Grandma...” -Horikoshi City- Association Building Peterson sighed as he looked over some papers. A few reports... first day of class, things could get hectic, but there were experienced teachers. “Maybe should send Flash over just in case... No, better he stays here, he can get there fast if needed... Should make sure Cisco isn't making something weird in the lab though...” Peterson muttered to himself. Hawkins' House As Melanie entered, she would smell some breakfast, along with some tea in a teapot. Galv wasn't as good as Melanie at cooking, but he could make a few things, and some scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon was simple enough. “You missed the kids,” Galv said as Melanie entered, the light turning on, Galv pouring a cup of tea for Melanie, “I saw them off though...” He didn't sigh or anything, but he made a plate of food and handed it to Melanie. “Here, you should eat something dear.” |

[Airplane/Horikoshi Airport] The red-haired boy stuffed away his phone and once again glued his face to the window, watching as the airplane gently settled on the tarmac, the pilot having done a fantastic job at making a safe landing. The airplane slowed down for a few moment, a feeling of weightlessness settling in as the side ports on the engines opened and the aircraft gave reverse thrust to settle into a gentle roll, from which it turned into one of the many receiving lanes. By then, the redhead was already moving about impatiently in his seat, only held back by the belt which all passengers were made to buckle into during landing. He couldn't wait to get out of the flying box stuffed with people and breathe actual, fresh oceanic air. Conditioning was great and all, but nothing beat the smell of the ocean. Once the aircraft stopped and rolled to one of the extending passenger bridges, he unbuckled himself, jumped into a standing position and stretched, letting out a loud "Ouoooooooh-ha!" as he did, grinning widely. With an agile twist, the young man used the backs of the seats he was sitting in to slip around the man and woman whom he was sitting next to, ending up the first to get out of his seat into the main lane, popped open the overhead, grabbed his backpack and slipped into the forming line to get out of the airplane. ... It didn't take him very long to start bouncing in place, waiting until the doors finally opened. "... Come on come on comeoncomeoncomeon..." The man in front of him turned around with a look of distaste on his face. "Settle down, kid and be quiet." "Awwww, but I wanna see the Island alreadyyyyyy!" The man's sour expression didn't lessen up any as he snorted and turned away to ignore the young man with red hair, just as the announcer spoke up. "Thank you for flying with SHA Airlines. We thank you for your patronage and for your patience during this long flight. We will be disembarking all first class within the next five minutes, followed by the rest of the passengers. I, Captain Schultz, thank you for your cooperation and I look forward to flying with many of you in the future." The red-haired boy, however, couldn't help but let out a whine. "Awwww, really? I gotta wait for LONGER? Man, for how fast these airplanes usually get you to places, it's SO SLOW to get in or out of one." |

[Kohei Academy] [Main Gate] All Might's grin never once faltered – but his voice became far quieter as he spoke the next few words. “I have to find one, Ethan, and soon. I can barely maintain this form for more than an hour a day anymore... my time as a hero is quickly drawing to a close. Before I can retire, I must train a new Symbol of Peace... and I'm running out of time.” “Hiya!” Bianca waved as she noticed the two boys who were standing nearby. She gave a broad smile to the two brothers as they introduced themselves. “I'm Bianca Bowie; it's nice to you two, too!” “... Wow, your corner of the family is way more hand's on...” Walking up the same path as Blake, Joyce, Kyran and Elysia was a young woman with short hair and a fancy hat. Laila raised her eyebrow at the herd of relatives gathered at the gate. Technically, they were her nieces and nephew, but she didn't like to think of herself as an aunt – it made her sound way too old. “Wow! Nice ride!” Not far from where Sarai had pulled up in the impressive car, a young woman was standing and grinning over to her. Kagura stood out in any crowd given her bright red shirt, vivid purple hair and spiked collar. She looked like she belonged at some weird rave party more than a school; but she also didn't seem to care in the slightest about any weird looks she might get. [Horikoshi City] [Association Building] “Relax Peterson. The school is in good hands. You know All Might himself is teaching this year.” A tall woman in a black suit walked over towards Peterson's desk. Fareeha Amari sat down a folder on the old soldier's desk, and gave a slight sigh. “Here's the reports from last week's incident in Beijing, by the way. Everything should be in order, but paperwork waits for no one.” |

Kohei Academy Main Gate Kay looked to both sides of her as she was approached by three strangers. Whoops, guess she was too loud. She blushed, but kept the grin on her face. “A-ah, howdy! I'm Kay! It's nice to meet y'all,” she greeted, a subtle southern drawl coming out of her. “Are y'all first-years, too?” – A young woman with an unnaturally long purple ponytail quietly approached the now-forming hoard of students, paying more attention to her phone than the noise. This was her third year here, yet still she was not used to the great crowds that amassed at the gates. She loved it here, even if she hated people. “Strooooobe! Heeeeeyyy! Wait for me!” Strobe turned around to see a second-year student with hair even longer than hers floating toward her. This was the one person she didn't hate. “Oh, there you are Shimera,” she said. “I thought you went ahead.” Shimera shook her head after catching up with her best friend. “Nope! I saw a puppy two blocks back and just had to pet him!” Typical Shimera, Strobe thought with a chuckle and a shake of her head. “Figures.” “Oh don't be like that!! If you saw him you'd pet him too,” Shimera responded with a faux pout. Airplane Sitting a few seats behind Lavan was a dark-skinned girl who was also staring out the window. She wished she could have just turned into a whale and swam all this way, but that would have exhausted her. And she would have gotten lost. And she probably wasn't supposed to do that. Summer looked back at the book she had brought to keep herself occupied on the flight. She ended up only reading one chapter and sleeping the rest of the flight. Maybe she'd finish it while at school. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Horikoshi City- Airport/Airplane “Oh! Are you going to Kohei Academy too?” Erin asked Lavan as the plane stopped, and people started to disembark. “My brother's a Hero already, and said it would be good for me to come here...” She smiled towards the red haired young man. “My name is Erin by the way!” Association Building Peterson sighed, nodding and taking the paperwork, scanning it over. “I knew this job would involve a lot of paperwork, and considering my age that sounded fine... Sometimes like a Monkey's Paw...” He took a seat, “And yes, All Might being there is a good thing. Second best hero I've ever met.” Peterson paused for a moment, remembering his own incident decades ago, and a hero who gave their life and set him down this path... As great as All Might was, no one would dislodge that memory for him. -Kohei Academy- Main Gate “Heh, first thing that goes is the super strength,” Ethan said, tapping his cane to the ground with a noticeable thud. “You'll find someone... I wish I could give some suggestions but I don' have the best track record in choices of people...” Jimi gave a small nod towards the two, not being super friendly because it's Jimi. “Yah, it's our first year at this academy... Our dad is a teacher here too,” Hammah said, picking his words carefully. Of course... they were teachers here too... that might be awkward... But they wanted their Hero License, and this was the place to get it. “Lalia! Join us!” Kyran said, waving an arm towards their aunt, grinning. Elysia sighed a little, wondering if she could wiggle free with Kyran trying to beckon Lalia into the group hug. |

GRAPPLING HOOK!

[Kohei Academy] “Wow! Nice ride!” Sarai turned quickly as a girl regarded her, timidly smiling upon the realization that she didn't know who she was. "T-Thank you" she replied almost instantly "It's not mine though- my dad's r-really" Sarai wasn't sure if this girl was one of the people she was used to that were impressed by wealth or one that was seriously turned off by it. Since it was a toss up (and she didn't want to make enemies on her first day0 she decided to not be obnoxious about it and play it low key. [...] “But powers aren't everything, you know! You should know that.” "Yeah yeah, you only say that because you don't have any" Chloe teased playfully, looking up at him "I imagine if you had a quirk you wouldn't shut up about it just like every other guy on this campus. Luckily for you I go for guys with a bit a humility- it help balances out my massive ego" Chloe grinned, leaning up on her tip toes to give him a quick kiss before turning. [...] "GAH- too....many....siblings" Joyce managed, being hugged on all sides by her three younger siblings. While she loved them all to death, being the oldest wasn't always the most enjoyable. Besides being crushed she was responsible for keeping them all safe- and that was going to be harder to do this year. Finally Joyce broke free, taking a breath and looking at Kyran, Elysia and Blake. "Are you guys sure you're going to be okay here without me? I men I know you guys are practically adults but this school is no joke. Seriously. My first year I broke my arm on a crazy hero obsticle course and my third I almost drowned in a flaming swimming pool" A flaming swimming pool was both confusing and perfectly plausible for Kohei. -Horikoshi City- Melanie's eyes instantly went up from the floor when Galv turned on the lights, the man coming over with a plate of very delicious looking food in tow. Despite her love of cooking her mother never had anything more than expensive liqour and grapes in her fridge so the younger woman often returned home starving. Melanie gave a weak smile, dropping the coat on the floor beside her heels and walking past him to the stairs. "The coat was at my mother's" Melanie explained, doubting Galv would question her fidelity but feeling the need to explain the men's jacket anyways. She quickly rushed up towards their room. "Let me change real quick" After a few minutes and the sound of the shower running Melanie returned downstairs, long hair wet and curled around her face, makeup washed away and clad in a much more reasonable outfit for a mother of four. Despite all of this she still looked exhausted. Melanie came over and took the plate from him, placing it down before kissing him. "Sorry I didn't make it back in time. I didn't mean to stay the night...." she apologized "Hopefully the kids weren't upset..." |
