[Aurelia: Many Years Ago] When the guards would come for her, Rin was already awake, dressed in a simple red gown, and carrying a large book under her arm. She held up a hand to silence the guard the moment she saw him, and then simply nodded and started walking towards the guest rooms. Once she arrived, she glanced to the guards by the door. “Stand aside.” She brushed past them, opening the door and walking into the room. She frowned at the sight of it, the destruction was heavy and Gallic looked like he hadn't slept a bit. “Well, you're alive, so that's something.” Rin glanced at him. “Maybe you will be useful after all, Mr. Champion.” [Nohr] [Hospital] Caitlin sighed, crossing her arms and watching this... obnoxious doctor talk down to her sister. She frowned as Liam went over and started kissing up to the doctor, even offering him money to make up for things. “Hey! Just relax, will you stuffy? Rue's a great healer! Just take her to the patients, will ya?” Caitlin snapped, but Graham quickly stepped in front of her. “Cait, why don't we go wait outside?” [Castle] “You have your orders, Brother Didymus. Your priority, as ordered by the Elders, is to get the Princess out of Nohr safely.” Cid stated bluntly, as he put his hand on Didymus' shoulder. “... So you and Aiden must obey those orders. It would be inappropriate for you to go back... I on the other hand, am an Elder, so I'll do as I please.” Cid gave a slight smirk – then he paused, his hand on the hilt of his sword, but he thought better of it. “Go! Get the Princess out of here before the Wyvern Riders can muster! Cecil and I will meet you on the way if we can, but do NOT wait for us!” With that Cid turned and rushed back towards the castle... [---] “It is not our place to question the King and Queen!” Xander frowned at Cecil. He had always trusted Cecil – thought of him as one of his closest friends. He moved back, raising his sword and slashing it – and bright red lights shot from the blade, flying at Cecil – but these beams were clearly aimed at his arms and legs, and not for his vital areas. “Even I, who will one day reign over Nohr, am in no place to question the decisions of my parents.” Xander said, much quieter. “You have broken your oaths and betrayed ME, Cecil – but I will offer you mercy. Throw down your weapon and I will plead my father for mercy for you.” Suddenly there was a massive flash of blinding light – Xander staggered back, his eyes blinking rapidly. Cid had appeared at the back of the room, and in his hand, his sword was now burning with a white-hot fire, sparks of lightning still slipping from the blade. “Cecil, my brother, it is time to go!” [Hoshido] [Forlorn Forest] Musashi nodded, sighing a bit as he crossed his arms. He reached out for his bowl of tea – but instead found that it was floating off the ground on its own. Musashi blinked, watching as the bowl floated right past him and into the bushes nearby – where a thin hand reached out and grabbed it. A woman with bushy pink hair was sitting just beside the three of them, smiling broadly as she stole Musashi's tea and took a sip. “Mmm... that's not bad at all!” [Galdwin] [Streets] “Do you travel often for your music?” Nanami asked Elysia. She was surprised to think that she'd come all the way to Galdwin for a show – she must have been popular. [Castle] “He was an interesting man. To this day I cannot say whether he was an optimist or a pessimist from the way he spoke, but he had a sense of hope about him.” Rin said, meeting Eleanor's gaze. “It is... interesting. The idea of trusting a power bigger than one's self. I can see the advantage in something like that, though I'm afraid the way my parents saw the world was far different. They trusted no one and nothing but themselves.” Rin cast her memories back to her parents. She didn't much miss them. “... but I found him an interesting man. He had a certain wisdom about him. Though he was the only Paladin I can recall meeting, so I have very little experience with the Order in your nation.” |

[Hospital] “I apologize good sir, I was the one who unfortunately kept Miss Jackson from seeing to her duties, the fault lies with me. Perhaps this will help make things even?” Rue's face went a bit pink as Liam took the blame for her lateness, even offering him a gift for the hospital. The doctor was quiet for a moment, before taking the gem and giving the teen a smile. "This is really a generous gift young man! It more than makes up for our inconvenience!" Rue turned to Liam, ready to ask just where he had got such an item. “Hey! Just relax, will you stuffy? Rue's a great healer! Just take her to the patients, will ya?” "C-Caitlin!" she exclaimed The doctor gave a small cough, pocketing the gem. "Y-Yes, come along. You all are welcome to watch Miss. Jackson's healing if you'd like. Rue's face went from pink to flush. No pressure. [Train] Joyce blinked....She knew of Samara, and had seen her before...But not for awhile. "Uh....S-Sure....Though will it hurt you?" she asked. |

[Hoshido, Forgotten Forest] Hiko calmly sat and sipped at his tea, quietly listening to the two conversing and simply enjoying the calm and the company of the moment. And while he listened, he felt out the two, letting his ki permeate the area as he let his mind slip into a semi-trance state, feeling out the two companions through their own spiritual ki. And he smiled. From the samurai, he received a turbulence of action, the spirit of a warrior that valued freedom over restraint, a wild and untamed spiritual force that felt like it would burst from his physical confines any second and ascend to something greater. He had almost forgotten how it was to sit beside such a locus and he could already see himself traveling with this man, simply to see where his adventures would lead him and how much upheaval he would cause. Men like him were a rarity, and often incited great change, and were always at the center of great events. The other one, however, was much more... Intriguing, simply for the mystery of it. A spirit that was both male and female, a duality he had NEVER sensed before in any entity he had met short of some of the really powerful or strange ones. For such a ki to belong to a mortal was almost beyond comprehension, yet there it was, two faces of spiritual identity facing him, bright as day and good to the core. They were good, fine people. Their secrets were their own, and Hiko withdrew his senses before they went too far into identifying the two he sat with, but he knew that he could trust them, because they were truly good people. However, just as he was withdrawing his senses and about to speak up and offer his own advice and knowledge of what he had found in these woods, he felt a third presence that appeared within his senses. Calmly taking a sip, just as the cup floated out of Musashi's hand, Hiko motioned to the side at the empty space he had left where they sat. "There is no need to steal another's tea when it had already been served for you, stranger. Come take a seat and join us, ease the worries of those who worry for your safety." |

I'll bite your legs off!

Nohr [Castle] Didymus paused for a brief moment, reflecting on what he was being ordered to do. Being ORDERED to run. ORDERED to quit the field whilst some of his fellows remained upon it. Sure, he WANTED to get out of here, especially with the guards closing in...but he didn't want to do it like this. Still, the fact was that not leaving while they had the chance only further endangered them all, and their important mission... He realized that Cid was invoking his status as an Elder to not join him in the command he had himself just given. Didymus wasn't sure if that was truly how it was supposed to work, and this reminded him that he was now leaving TWO of his fellow Paladins behind, and he briefly considered asking if it might be wiser if Cid remained with Garnet, thereby ensuring her safety all the more-but Cid was quickly gone, running back into the castle. He blinked, asking silently for forgiveness for leaving two other Paladins behind-if indeed there was sin involved in it in this case, and then focused on the task at hand. He had his orders and his task. "Hang on, ladies!" he called, hopping into the cart and taking the reins. When he was sure they were secure, he spurned the horses on, and they were off! Paladins were knights-horseback riding is an art they were trained in, so he had some experience handling horses... "Be with us, Father, please...and with Cid and Cecil back behind us..." he whispered. --- "Your mother and father do not see all; and are still imperfect-it falls not to THEM to wield the sword of judgement as if they WERE!" As the tendrils shot at Cecil, he slashed at one, and another burst of light from his armor repulsed another-but the another two struck at him, and he stumbled! "I honestly appreciate the offer of mercy from you...but I've found mercy, old friend. It's why I stand here as I am, today. A pity I had to break my oaths to your service to do it-but my actions still serve Nohr's best interest, whatever now comes of them." he stated, no bitterness in his voice as he spoke, but a quiet acceptance of it all. Beatrix raised her blade as Steiner hesitated again, then both were also blinded for a moment as Cid stormed into the room, the flash of light allowing Cecil to step back and escape the tendrils! "Elder! Thank you, the aid was most needed!" he said, stepping back and heading towards the door... Galdwin [Capitol] For the first time since they had sat down, Percival spoke. "May I ask his name, my lady?" he asked Rin. "Perhaps I know or knew him? As for the Order...there are some regional differences, perhaps, but the same codes ultimately apply in every chapter across the realms." Elanor listened quietly to Rin's statements, before replying. "The Order does good work." she said. "Has done good work. But while you said your parents saw things a different way, do you share their view, if I may ask? You've spoken of seeing the strengths of having faith, and of your parents' convictions, but you've made no definite mention of your own outlook. You can feel free to ask mine in turn, but...I imagine it isn't difficult to guess." Richard laughed at Gallic's statements. "I'll admit, sometimes I WISH that a courtly dispute or diplomatic meandering could just be decided by a good, fair fight. That would make things so much...simpler..." he mused. "...but alas, such is not the case. It requires a more...delicate...hand. As for passing our values on to our children...indeed, and I pray that my son's time when I am gone is filled with peace and plenty. And perhaps it shall be. But like every leader of our people before us, it falls to us to face the dangers of our time head-on. When the clarion call sounds, as has been our custom, we answer it along with our countrymen. Tis a poor leader indeed who shrinks from the tasks that he must lead his people through." |

[Hoshido] [Forgotten Forest] Musashi gasped at the sight of the woman – she matched the description perfectly. He hadn't expected something like this, and it made him suspicious. She had not only simply joined them completely unexpectedly, but she had taken the bowl right out of his hand with some form of magic – and as far as he knew, the woman he was looking for was not a mage. The woman gave a sly smirk, her eyes darting to Hiko and her nose twitching slightly as she stared at him. She stood up and walked over, taking a seat as if she was the fourth at their party, sitting across from Celest, and with Musashi to one side and Hiko on the other. “It is lovely tea, and I couldn't help myself but to try some.” The woman smiled. “You're Tamamo, aren't you? The villagers are worried about yo-” Musashi started. “Oh there's plenty of time to talk about that later.” Tamamo dismissed the issue, smiling as she bounced slightly where she sat. “You're quite the unexpected trio to find in these woods! I'm intrigued...” [Nohr] [Castle Road] The carriage was off, riding down the winding roads, speeding away from the castle. Garnet was nestled in the back – and she was wracked with doubts. She had been absolutely certain that she had to do this – but now that she sat here, seeing the pain and anger on her brother's faces, she was worried. She moved to the front, looking to Didymus. “Wait, please! We can't leave without the Elder and Cecil!” She was worried. Had she led them to their dooms? She knew Cid's reputation, but she also knew that even he could not hold out against the whole of Nohr's army... But then a shadow descended on the carriage and a roar split the sky. Garnet's eyes widened, and she suddenly knew why they were fleeing. A massive wyvern was flying up from behind Nohr Castle, and upon its back was Garnet's older sister, Camilla. The eldest Princess of Nohr, she was known to be devoted and loving to her siblings... but she was also known for being absolutely bloodthirsty and brutal to Nohr's enemies. The Wyvern gave a massive roar, and lightning sparked in the skies around the large axe Camilla wielded in her hand. “Give me back my sister!” A blast of lightning struck the ground beside the carriage, the horse letting out a bellow as it ran, barely avoiding the electrical doom! [Castle] “We must go!” Cid called out. He did not like leaving the Princess' side, but he would not leave Cecil behind. It was far more important that their mission be complete, but Cid was never a man who would allow his brothers to suffer when he could help it. As Cid moved towards the door, a blast of red came at his head – he only just managed to spin around and block the beam with his sword. “So... you're Cidolfus Orelandu... and that must be Durandal.” Xander stepped forward, and his sword was glowing with a strange red and purple fog. Cid merely shrugged. “It is neither my power, nor my blade's power you should worry about, Your Highness.” “We will see.” Xander frowned. [Hospital] Caitlin and Graham followed, Caitlin smirking a bit as she moved in close behind her sister and patted her on the back. “You'll do fine!” [Galdwin] [Capitol] “He was called Owen. A rather serious man, and a fierce warrior. I do wonder what has become of him.” Rin replied, thinking back to her youth. Then she paused, taking a sip from her beverage. After another moment she sat it back down. “While I recognize the strengths of having faith, I'm afraid it's not for me. I am a mage, even if my work as one is mostly ceremonial.” That last point was a lie, but one that only a handful of people would recognize as such. She had always hidden her true abilities away from nearly everyone. Gallic was perhaps the one person to know the extent of her actual magical capabilities... [Hoshido] [Forgotten Forest] Hiko shifted expertly to face Tamamo and gave a sitting bow of respect as the woman in the robe took a seat. "Welcome, Tamamo-san. My current companion seems to want to jump straight to the point for people truly have been worried for your safety, enough to send a wandering ronin to aid you, and I do not blame them for the concern. I am Hiko, a passing wandering swordsman that has been wandering these woods these past few days. I am glad to see you safe." He shifted his seating position again, refilling tea cups expertly as he did, picking up his own refilled cup and taking a sip before speaking up again in curiosity. "But do allow me my curiosity, Tamamo-san. How was the shrine visit?" |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Aurelia: Many Years Ago- The guards moved aside for Rin, looking nervous as she approached Gallic. The King was still being roused. Even if barbarian invaders had overrun the city and were charging through the halls of the castle, the king still had to be woken up slowly, lest he grow angry. Gallic swayed, forcing himself up as he eyed Rin. A brief thought of trying to take her hostage and escape entered his mind, but he rejected it for three reasons. One, that he was simply too tired. Two, that he would be incredibly outnumbered. And three, the biggest reason, was when he looked into Rin's eyes. She was dangerous. Not the same way her father was dangerous, who simply employed dangerous men. Even if fully rested Gallic would have been wary of fighting this woman alone with some back up. It intrigued him... just who was this princess? “...My name is Gallic,” he simply said. “I don't really deserve to be called a Champion.” -Nohr- Hospital “I have seen her healing before, I can wait out here,” Liam said, smiling, then nodded to Rue. “I'm sure you'll do well! I'll talk to you once you finish, okay?” Train “No... why would it hurt me?” Blake asked, shaking his head. “Most of the time I feel better when she's out...” Since manifesting her used up some of his lightning abilities he couldn't use otherwise. He focused now, trying to summon up Samara. Castle Road Aiden looked out as Camilla appeared, raining down lightning around them. She closed her eyes for a moment, focusing, muttering a prayer as she summoned forth the holy fire that burned within her. A ball of fire blasted from outside the wagon, shooting up towards Camilla and the wyvern, trying to knock them back! -Galdwin- Castle “I quite agree,” Gallic said to Richard, pausing. He was actually finding himself liking this man, thinking that they could work together... though Galdwin's views on magic, among other issues related to such, would always be a sticking point. He smiled towards Rin, reaching over and placing his hand on her's for a moment and grasping it, before returning his attention back to Richard and the others. “We are letting preachers and paladins into our borders,” Gallic said, “Though we also quite allow magic to be used.” He didn't want to mention, though it was possible Galdwin had heard from spies or informants, that Gallic was attempting to poach some mages from the College of Magic in Elgaia to start one in Aurelia. -Hoshido- Forlorn Forest Celest was wary, eying Tamano carefully. He could feel the magic from this woman. He stayed silent, sipping his tea and wondering if he could carefully get off a couple defensive spells without this woman noticing. Something was telling him that he probably couldn't, but his magic was welling up slightly as Celest forced himself to remain calm. Edited by AGodofIrony, Jul 23 2017, 06:43 PM.

[Aurelia: Many Years Ago] “Ah, but you do.” Rin said as she walked into the room casually, and then waved her hand – the door closed behind her. The guards looked concerned, but they knew better than to upset the Princess, so they stood by awkwardly. Rin waved her hand a second time, and one of the destroyed chairs slowly mended itself. The repair was sloppy, but it was sturdy enough that Rin could sit – so she did, sitting across from Gallic and watching him with intense crimson eyes. “Not because of the arena. No, that was impressive, but I've seen many people survive in there. However... the fact that you survived my little spell? Now that is impressive. It's very experimental magic. Most of the test subjects I tried it on didn't have your luck.” She watched him warily. He was undoubtedly a dangerous man. He had abilities beyond what she knew, and an unknown was always precarious... but Rin was not afraid. “There is much I'd like to discuss with you, but now is not the time. Those guards are too timid to eavesdrop, but my father will arrive eventually and when he does he will most likely offer you a job as his new protector. A job you will accept.” Rin smirked. “... To have an opportunity to rise up from gladiator in the slave pits, to royal protector? Now that's a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Most men would be honored. Some would accept for the money and power that comes with it. Some would accept to free themselves from the arena. Some, foolish ones, would accept in the hopes of a chance to get revenge against the King who watched them bleed and suffer... and some would simply accept because refusal means execution.” She stared into his eyes. “... but you... hmmm... someone like you, might accept for other reasons.” [Hoshido] [Forgotten Forest] Tamamo still had a sly grin on her face as she watched these three men in the woods. They were interesting... and she could sense such wonderful possibilities from them all. There was a sense of... importance. These people were not just the same boring townsfolk from before. One of them could be the one she was searching for – though that was a large leap to make until she knew them more. “I'm afraid I haven't been to a shrine in far too long, Hiko-san.” Tamamo smiled, bowing her head a bit. For just the briefest of moments her nose twitched again, as she took in their scent. There was so much magic here... and at least one of them had a strangely familiar scent to his magic that made her wonder if she was dealing with more than simple humans. “I assure you, though, I am in no danger. I simply left the village because while those villages were very kind, none of them were truly suitable for my needs... so I must continue on my way.” Musashi could only drink silently, wondering what he had gotten himself into. [Nohr] [Castle Road] As the fireball flew up towards her, Camilla's Wyvern dodged to the side and let it pass by. It was close enough that a few sparks dripped down onto the leathery wings of the creature, but it managed to evade the majority of the flames. The Wyvern gave a howl, and then from its great mawl a bubbling green liquid came flying out! Garnet gasped and she raised her hands – and a translucent light appeared above the carriage, blocking most of the liquid from hitting them. Some of it hit the ground around the carriage, however, and it began to burn and smoke where the acid had fallen! |

[Hoshido] [Forgotten Forest] Hiko clicked his tongue in slight disapproval, shook his head and sighed. "I apologize, I assumed and erred in my assumption. You are dressed much like a miko, and I truly hoped that perhaps you were here for that purpose. Before you arrived safe and sound here, I in fact was about to suggest two locations of interest to my companions to which you might have traveled if it was a specific location in this forest." He took a sip of his tea, pausing, then continued slowly and thoughtfully, choosing every word he spoke carefully. "... There is a shrine deep within this forest, as you might have guessed. It is a long abandoned place, forgotten and overgrown. I have attempted to visit it to pay respects to the spirits that resided in the shrine, but... I was not able to approach without attracting attention of... Things have have taken residence there. I hoped to travel to a larger city to ask some of the priesthood to perhaps come cleanse and renew the shrine, but such a task would require rather concentrated effort I'm afraid." He sighed. "But no matter. The shrine will remain where it is, and it is no danger to anyone as its seals still hold strong. I would, however, ask of you a favor, Tamamo-san. Allow me to deliver the news of your safety to the town which you have left in such worry, and inform anyone you could find that would be capable of cleansing the shrine that such a place exists in these woods, and that it needs aid." |

[Hoshido] [Forgotten Forest] Tamamo paused, her eyes flickering to Hiko. He wanted to clear a shrine in the forest? It was an interesting prospect – and certainly a worthwhile effort. She knew she could help with that task, but not without revealing herself. Her eyes lingered on Hiko, and then she gave a smile. “I cannot return to that town, I'm afraid, but I would so appreciate it if you could tell them that I am safe.” Tamamo nodded. “As for this shrine... I could help you. I could cleanse the shrine, but if it is as dangerous as you suggest, the two of us alone may hardly be enough.” She turned to Musashi, smiling and batting her eyes. “Perhaps you will come too, Ronin-san?” Musashi blinked in response, his eyes lingering on her pretty face (and her cleavage) and he slowly nodded. “I'd be happy to help, milady!” |

[Hoshido] [Forgotten Forest] Hiko's ever-smiling face never changed, but there was this distinct feeling that he was suddenly quite pleased about something. "So you are versed in some of the esoteric arts, Tamamo-san? That is wonderful indeed, and... If you truly are willing to perhaps use some of your knowledge and lead the cleansing, then I would gladly join my strength to yours, meager though it may be. But it would take more than just knowledge and spiritual focus. That place is... Tainted, and the paths that the spirits use to visit upon that shrine are tainted and now lead elsewhere, to the realms of things much darker. I fear that we may not simply find a befouled place, but one that houses youkai. And if so, then the two of us shall certainly not be enough for the task." Hiko knew that this was a pretty bold-faced lie. In truth, he figured that if he used every tool available to him, he could potentially cleanse the shrine on his own. But that would reveal much more than he was willing to at this time, and it would be better for the shrine and its environs if the rituals performed to cleanse it were of the more standard kind, arts performed by experienced onmyoji and not forced through tools and abilities that exercised force. And he especially wasn't about to reveal to his companions what it is that he was capable of. So he hid in his guise as a simple swordsman with just the passing knowledge of the esoteric arts, and hoped that this woman's strength would be enough. And from what he sensed, it was definitely enough... |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Aurelia: Many Years Ago- Gallic remained standing, both because there was nowhere for him to sit beyond the floor, and he was still determined not to show weakness. “...You seem to think more highly of me then I really am,” Gallic said, “I'm just trying to survive. That's all.” He paused, looking again in Rin's eyes, staring for a long moment. “...But I suppose a position like that could mean a chance to help others out of former position as well...” Gallic added. -Hoshido- Forgotten Forest “...I'm not good with any weapons, but I'm a pretty decent mage. If you'll have me, I would be willing to come along and help,” Celest volunteered as well. He spun a finger around, letting some magic spark around it, before letting it disappear, as if to demonstrate slightly. “Musashi saw some of what I could do earlier.” -Nohr- Castle Road Aiden took a deep breath, trying to think. What would her mom do? ...Probably cast some spell to save them... Her father? He'd probably be at the castle backing up the other two Paladins with his own holy fire. She focused, placing her hands on the wagon floor, muttering a prayer. Her fire spun around the wagon, though didn't burn, giving a pleasing warmth as it spread, going towards Didymus and the horses. Despite the flames, the horses would not be scared, but they did go faster, Aiden concentrating on her own blessings to increase the wagon's speed! “Can't... keep this up... for long...” Aiden said, eyes closed. |

I'll bite your legs off!

Nohr [City] Didymus was focused on driving the kart, and praying for aid as he could, driving the horses fast and hard as he safely could in this city, heading for the nearest exit so he could really gun it. Of course, what were their odds of outrunning a wyvern? They still had to outrun the rest of Nohr's forces, though...one wyvern rider was something they could face, the whole of Nohr's stationed guard was less desirable... He noticed that Aiden and even Garnet were doing their best to shield and cover their own escape. A princess shielding them with magic? And Aiden adding...he wasn't sure, she always insisted her flames weren't magic, and he admitted they didn't SEEM so, perhaps...but he wasn't completely sure. But as Camilla demanded they relinquish Garnet, he called out. "You, too, would be her jailer, then? She comes by her own free will!" Aiden was having difficulty, it seemed, straining, stating she couldn't keep things up for much longer. "Father, please..." he whispered. "...let safety be upon us. Let us be shielded and guided by Thy mighty arm..." He held up his sword with one hand, and from it light one more began to spread, veiling the cart and providing a shield as it had before in the castle, and obscuring the cart from view (granted it was easy to spot the bright light) though for now he had little means to strike back at the elder princess...albeit, he thought, he could pray for one...and Aiden had her fireballs, though she seemed to be growing tired... With their veil/shield upon them, he urged the cart further on, seeing well enough despite or even all the more BECAUSE of the light around them...he hoped they'd at least be leaving the town soon... [Castle] Cecil nodded as Cid told him they had to go, looking with regret at his former allies. He stepped backwards, towards the door, as Beatrix charged at him again, and their blades met, Cecil parrying much more easily not having to worry about fighting several foes at once. "Captain Steiner...you were always honorable. Know that your charge flees of her own will-as did I-both of us seeing that a...festering...wound...was eating at the nation, a darkness threatening to consume it. And general...loyal as always, but tell me, have I or Garnet ever come off as traitors to you?" Steiner seemed to still be grappling with these statements, whereas Beatrix simply spat. "Life's full of surprises." she insisted. "And my prince...I am truly sorry it comes to this...but you know as well as I do the nature of the powers we courted-that you still court. You know as well as I do the travesties we had to commit. Can you honestly say your parents possessed the wisdom to know they were justified, and if so, that they also would see fit to keep this knowledge from you?" Beatrix continued to attack, and he continued to parry her, give ground, towards the door... Galdwin Richard took a swing from his drink as Gallic spoke. "I am aware of your...newer policies. A welcome change from the way things were done there previously, despite our...lingering disagreements." he stated. "I imagine that the people may enjoy the Order's presence, once they settle in and get to their duties, among other things, of guarding against...horrors." "Owen?" Percival asked Rin. "...yes, yes, I know one of us by that name. I cannot say if he's the same man or not from that detail alone, but that certainly sounds like him, though most who know him, if indeed it's the same man, would argue his outlook to be more pessimistic." he stated simply, as Elanor took in Rin's further comments. "Hmmm." she said. "Well, they are complex issues, these things...matters of the soul and the mystical. All the same, I hope you enjoy your stay in our land." Hoshido -Town- With a sparkling smile, Shimera thankfully accepted the gift from the ramen guy. “Thank you very much!” she said. Reading the paper she was given, she had finally understood how to use the chopsticks, but it took her a few tries before she really got it. “This is really good!” |

[Hospital] Rue followed the doctor into the back of the hospital, down a long hallway and into a sterile room where several very ill people lied resting. The young woman followed with her eyes low, not wishing to disturb any of the critical ill patients or offend anyone with a stare. Before she was allowed to heal alone her father had taught her many things from her dad, one of which was no matter their ailment or injury always allow people their dignity. "This is him" the doctor said, coming to a stop and pulling open a white curtain. Behind it lied a man, probably in his mid fifties or so, whose skin was a unnatural looking yellow-tint. "We believe his kidneys are failing, and his blood poisoned because of it" the doctor explained to the group. Rue quietly stepped forward, smiling at the man, who seemed conscious but weak. "H-Hi there, i'm Rue Jackson. I'm a healer and i'm going to try and get you feeling better" she said softly, smiling at him. When the man gave no word against it she moved forward, placing her hands on his bare skin around his torso. For a moment nothing happened, but after a few more a golden glow came to her palms. The glow covered much of his torso and Rue sat silently concentrating for several minutes without movement. She seemed to be focusing very hard. Finally after almost 10 minutes the glow dimmed and Rue sat back, wiping a bead of sweat from her brow. Like her father and sister Rue used her own energy to heal and thus had to stop before she wiped herself out. Hopefully it would be enough. The girl looked to the doctor and stood up, wavering her her stance a tiny bit. "I did what I could to repair the damage, though he'll still need rest and an IV of liquids for at least 48 hours. He's very dehydrated and it really isn't helping his ailment." [Train] Joyce watched as Blake concentrated, attempting to summon the strange incarnation of his powers. After a moment she noticed the train car getting colder and colder until- A young woman who looked almost identical in age to Blake appeared beside him in a puff of shadows. Her long black hair fell down her back and her pale skin was striking against her very ominous looking red eyes. It was weird, she could be Joyce's much prettier, much eviler twin. Samara was silent for a moment, surveying the scene she just appeared in, before looking to Blake. "You needed me?" she said. |
