[Nohr] [Clearing] “Don't worry, this sword won't break – and it won't go anywhere. It's a part of me.” Graham smiled, and then he took a stance. Caitlin, grinning, nodded in agreement to Liam. “Alright! You better show off Liam or I'll never let you live it down! 3... 2... 1 – Go!” The moment she said 'Go' – Graham simply stood motionless. He didn't attack, he simply stood and waited, sword in hand, watching Liam... [Hoshido] [Forlorn Road] Musashi paused, suddenly spotting a figure lying across one of the branches of a large tree. He listened to the music and smirked – watching this person for a moment. From the look of his clothes, he was a local – potentially a problem if he recognized Musashi. “Greetings Flue player!” Musashi called out. “That's a rather pleasant tune.” |

Nohr [Tavern] Cecil nodded. "Thank you...and yes, Lord willing..." he looked up for a moment, then sighed, bowing his head. He had changed over the past year or two, certainly, but it still hurt to know that the land of his birth was in such dire straits that action like this was necessitated. Didymus blinked. "Oh...um, well, thank you, Aiden, but I assure you, I'm alright. A bit weary from our journey, certainly, but perhaps that is more to do with the mission here...but Lord willing, indeed...we can do this..." "Right this way..." Cecil said. "I know the castle, I can guide you...still, if I am recognized, then...escape with her." he said, and Didymus and Cecil stood as Cecil lead them to the cart they were to be "working".... [Castle] The sound of armor clanking could be heard all along the hall as a largely-built man strode down it. "PRINCESS!" Steiner called. Just where WAS that girl, anyway? True, she was a woman now, not just a girl, able to keep track of herself...but HIS job, among other things, was to keep track of HER. And she had a habit of trying to get away, he'd say, if he didn't know better... Galdwin [Capitol] Richard nodded. "Ah, I see..." That would be a more pragmatic reason for Gallic to visit in person. Or, he thought, a convenient excuse to mask the REAL reason. Either way, it was a matter to be attended to. "Very well! In any case, then, allow me to show you to your quarters for the evening, then we can move to the dining room and even discuss things AT dinner!" He stood, and Percival moved to follow him. "Right this way!" |

Hoshido -Town- Shimera tilted her head. “Weird stuff? Well, I was going there because I heard the place is full of magic!” She took a good look at Moniker. The fluffy girl seemed to be the type to understand special magicks and what happens when the wrong people get their hands on said powers. Being a Star-Maiden, Shimera was taught as a young girl that her power to grant wishes would be coveted by the worst of men if she weren't careful. She wasn't sure quite yet if she could trust Moniker with her little secret. Edited by Knucxsonia, Jul 4 2017, 10:28 PM.

[Hoshido] [Forlorn Road] Hiko's melody came to a soft end as Musashi traveled off the beaten path and between the trees to find the one the flute player took as his resting place for the moment. The melody came to a finish just as Musashi came close and addressed him, and the man with the flute put the musical instrument down. "Greetings to you as well, osamurai-san. It is wonderful to see swords of the empire still patrol the roads. You might wish to be careful around these parts though, osamurai-san. These woods are not just famous for their large killable grunts of the Nohr. These forests... Are much older, and many secrets are still held within them. Take care not to let a stray melody take you from your path, lest you forget where you came from, or lose your way." The man jumped down, landing with no sound whatsoever and bowing to Musashi deeply. "My apologies, osamurai-san, It has been some time since I spoke with another and I seem to have forgotten my manners. I am Hiko, a wandering swordsman and amateur flutist, and I am happy to have a sword of the empire listen to my melody and judge it worthy." Edited by HellAvatar, Jul 6 2017, 04:51 AM.

[Hoshido] [Forlorn Road] Musashi listened to the words of the strange swordsman in the tree, and he could only give a slight smirk. This guy seemed to know a lot about this place... there were old rumors and stories about the myriad of spirits who dwelt deep within the woods. Every so often someone would claim to see one, and many would talk of how dangerous they were – certainly that was what this man was warning him of. When Hiko jumped down and introduced himself, Musashi met his bow with one of his own. Short and polite, even though that was rarely his style. “Well met, Hiko-san. If your skill with a blade matches your flute playing then you must be worthy of the sword on your belt!” Musashi always felt a kindred spirit with a fellow swordsman, be they from Hoshido or elsewhere in the world. To those who truly devoted themselves to following the path of the blade, meeting another with the same aspiration was either very fun... or very deadly. [Galdwin] [Capitol] “Thank you, your highness.” Rin finally spoke, quietly and politely. She was in the moment playing the role more of a traditional housewife than a queen – but she had her reasons for staying silent. Gallic was the face of Aurelia, he was the King who saved the nation and transformed it. He was the one who knew how to negotiate. He was the charismatic leader. Rin, as far as the world knew, was little more than a quiet and supportive spouse. And that was just how she wanted it. The more they underestimated her, the better her odds of destroying them if the need ever arose... She stood, but waited for Gallic before she followed them. [Nohr] [Castle] “Captain Steiner, is there a problem?” The voice had an almost oily quality to it. A tone that made the skin crawl just from the sound of it. The man who spoke was tall and regal, with neat blue hair and the cerulean robes of a court mage – but he was more than just a simple court mage. Melord was the personal adviser of the monarchs, and since he had been appointed that job, Brahne and Garon had... changed. “... Where is Princess Garnet, Captain?” Melord questioned quietly. [Tavern] “We will do this. We don't have a choice.” Cid stated bluntly. “Failure is not an option, and none of you should even entertain the possibility of it. Above all else, we must get our contact back to Galdwin – back to the Order. Too much is at steak.” His face softened, and he smiled. “And that is precisely why we will succeed – because we must, and above all else, because we know we have the Lord on our side. So do not allow the notion of failure to enter into your thinking – we go, and we will succeed, and tomorrow when we are at home we will sit and know we have done our part.” |

Nohr [Tavern] Didymus listened as Cid spoke, and nodded. He was encouraging them, extolling them to faith and valor and virtue, as the elders were (rightly) wont to do. For his part, he may have still a bit unsure, but dedicated to keeping the faith and doing his part all the same. Cecil took what inspiration he could from Cid's words, as well, but the whole situation still felt odd to him...this is the first time he would be returning to Nohr's capital/castle since his...conversion. He led them out back, to a wagon that was empty... "...here it is. We can purchase and gather whatever other supplies we need for delivery, but here is our...means of transport." he said. [Castle] Steiner felt a bit of a chill as he heard the voice addressing him. Melord was trusted by Brahne and Garon, so he trusted him...more or less. But something about him always rubbed Steiner the wrong way. Still, he was a royal official just like he was, right? "Bah. That girl has run off again, but I'm sure she's still in the castle. If I didn't know better, I'd bet she ENJOYS trying to slip away from my watchful eye...I know she's a woman now, and probably wants more space, but I still have a job to do! Dangers could strike at her from anywhere!" he paused, and shook his head, before looking about again. "So if you'll excuse me, Court Mage, I must continue my search!" He started walking off, bellowing out another "PRINCESS!" The thought occurred to him, she didn't seem to eat much that day...maybe she was hungry, and was scoping out the kitchen or dining area? |

-Nohr- Clearing Liam paused, not having rushed forward either and smirked towards Graham. “Looks like neither of us like to rush. Okay then, I won't disrespect you,” Liam said. He put his hand on his sword and drew it, the metal looking rather dull, the sword itself simply designed as he held it in front of him. Something seemed to radiate from it, making anyone with magic nearby feel a little odd, before it seemed to vanish as Liam focused. “If you'll use something so personal for you, I should do the same. I got this sword from my father, and we're one of the few people who can wield it,” Liam said. “A sword of cold iron...” He held up the sword, then charged towards Graham, slashing downwards at him! Wagon Aiden had her hood back up, looking over the wagon. “Then we should get going to the castle, right?” Aiden asked. -Hoshido- Forlorn Road Celest followed Musashi towards Hiko, listening to the two as he kept his cloak around him. “Greetings from me as well. I am Celest Guillory. Your flute playing was lovely,” Celest said, introducing himself as well. Town “That is true, but personally I'd steer clear of Nohr if you're alone...” Moniker said. “Weird stuff happening there...” -Galdwin- Capitol “Thank you, King Richard,” Gallic said as he stood up, taking Rin's arm as they headed towards the quarters. He smiled towards her, quite knowing what she was doing. “Your kingdom seems to be doing well, from what I've seen,” Gallic said as they walked along. |

Hoshido -Town- Shimera crossed her arms. “What kind of weird stuff?” she asked. “I'm curious now!” She suddenly regretted not doing research on the recent political standings of the surrounding cities. Nohr -Tavern- Heavy boots thudded across the tavern floor as Strobe walked in. She made a beeline toward the bar and glared at anyone who looked at her funny. She found that having black irises tended to spook people. There was nothing inherently special about her that made her eyes black, but few people bothered to notice anyway unless she was giving a death-glare. She sat at the bar and ordered a drink. “Also...” she said to the barkeeper, “Got the word around town? I'm not familiar with Nohr. Been hearing that something's not right out here.” In Strobe's experience, the best place to gather information on anything local is from a barkeeper. |

[Nohr] [Castle] Melord stood and watched as Steiner set off down the hall, shouting for the Princess. He turned and walked in the opposite direction for several steps until he was sure he was alone – and then he passed right through the nearest wall, disappearing into a puff of purple smoke. When he had reappeared, he was in a chamber secret to even most of the castle's elite guards. The blue-haired wizard walked over and sat, grasping his chin with his hand and becoming lost in thought. [Wagon] Cid looked at the wagon for a moment and sighed, but then he nodded towards Aiden. “Yes, there's not enough time to buy actual supplies – but we're not making an actual delivery anyway. Deception is not a skill valued or often practiced by those of our Order, but today we must act in secrecy.” He turned towards the other three, watching them all and nodding. “The castle is expecting a delivery, so we should have no problem getting through the gates. Once we're at the loading area, I will deal with the wait staff who will no doubt be there for the delivery. While I distract them, Didymus and Aiden will enter the kitchen and look for our target.” He now focused on Didymus. “Once you make contact, simply bring her back to the wagon. Do so without arousing suspicion if you can, but if that is impossible then take whatever action is necessary. Regardless, the moment she steps foot into this wagon we will have no plausible way to explain it. If all goes well, we will ride away without anyone being the wiser... but it is entirely plausible that we will have to flee in a hurry, perhaps even fight our way out.” Cid gave a sigh. “If it comes to that, our utmost priority is to get the target out of Nohr. Obviously the road to Galdwin is preferably, but if we cannot get her to Galdwin, then anywhere outside of Nohr will suffice for now.” “Everyone be sharp, be at your best. Take care of one another. There is no reason we cannot all arrive home safe and sound, unless we are foolish.” [Clearing] Graham's one remaining eye widened the moment he got a look at the sword. He felt a sensation running down his bones, like a chilled vibration through his marrow and he knew exactly what it was. Although he had never come across an entire blade of it before... there was no doubt that the sword was made of Cold Iron. “Fascinating...” Graham whispered – but then Liam struck. He moved and slashed and Graham had to dodge to the side as the blade came crashing down, knowing that he could not very well block it with a sword formed entirely out of his magical eye. “You have a very interesting friend here, Cait.” Graham called out as he spun back around to face Liam. In an instant the sword in his hand vanished, and he clapped his hands together – filling them back with the translucent blue light. Graham knelt down and slammed his hands onto the ground and there was a crackle of lightning – and then dirt and stone from the ground slowly formed around the blue magical shine, and solidified into a sword. “There – that's much better!” Graham grinned and he lunged out, slashing at Liam! [Hoshido] [Forlorn Road] Musashi turned his head towards Celeste and then back to Hiko. In a very short time-span he had come across a very unusual couple of people in these woods. He whistled a bit, putting his hands behind the back of his head. “You know, as much as I enjoy standing around in a dangerous forest, maybe we'd all be a little happier to sit down and have some tea?” [Galdwin] [Capitol] “It is a beautiful land your people inhabit, King Richard.” Rin spoke up as they walked, her eyes drifting towards the windows. “I did not grow up on this side of the continent, but I have long admired its beauty. Galdwin has a long history. You should be proud of your nation.” |

[Clearing] Rue sat in the grass watching the fight intently, holding her breath as Liam slashed down at Graham. The man was extremely quick, having dodged and made his own move towards Liam. "Soooooo any reason you're traveling with a guy like that" Rue asked her older sister. "Are you sure you're not dating him. You really should be" [Inn] Joyce could feel the tension in the room but decided to ignore it for the time being. She also wanted to ask Blake about his shadows comment but didn't. "Alright then, you both can be my travel buddies! I'm sure grandmother would be happy to see you Blake! She always seemed interested in you" Probably because of his strange powers. Most definitely because of his strange powers. She led them out and towards the train station! |

[Nohr] [Clearing] Caitlin was watching the battle beside her sister, grinning at the sight. When Rue asked the inevitable question, Caitlin could only sigh and rub the back of her neck. “We met a couple months back... He helped me out of a jam I'd gotten myself into, and we kinda hit it off.” She explained with a small shrug, deciding not to elaborate lest word get back to her parents that she had such a knack for getting into trouble. She paused at the other question and sighed. “... I mean, I've thought about it... but anytime I even hint at something he deflects it...” Her voice dropped, and she leaned in so only Rue could hear. “And I know he has a locket he carries around... I think maybe he's still not over some ex or something.” |

[Clearing] For a moment Rue was excited about the prospect of her sister and Graham together, especially when she didn't shut down the idea instantly- but then she mentioned the locket and the girl gave a small frown. Both girls were raised relatively sheltered and thus Rue had even less experience with guys than her sister. She wasn't sure she could offer any decent advice for the situation. The only advice about dating boys she had gotten from her parents was 'just don't'. "Guys are....Complicated" she decided carefully, eyes still on the match rather than her sister. "Maybe he'll come to his senses? Though i'm happy to see he's such a gentleman. I think dad wouldn't mind him too much if you ever decided to bring him home" |

-Hoshido- Town “Not sure... just rumors I heard...” Moniker said. “I was gonna visit my mom, then meet up with a friend of mine. You wanna tag along?” Moniker was very friendly and trusting of people. Forlorn Road “Tea sounds good,” Celest said, nodding his head. “I have a kettle in my bag here...” Of course Celest would carry around something to heat water with. -Nohr- Wagon Aiden nodded, listening to the plan. “Okay... I'm ready!” Clearing Liam grinned as Graham remade his sword, bringing his around to block Graham's. “Not bad!” Liam said, taking a step back to get a better stance, trying to slide Graham's sword away from his own. Liam was fairly strong himself... not stronger then his mother, but he had grown up learning his father's training regimen. He didn't know how strong Graham was, and was trying to get a feel for it. It would mean different tactics, after all. Train Station The train was a fairly new beast, expensive but Sage pulled out several gold coins to pay. As much as he hated his father, he did decide to use his money for good, at least. Better then letting his dad waste it on booze and women. “Kyran would be jealous,” Blake commented. “She wanted to study one of these trains...” -Galdwin- Fayre House In a clearing was a decent sized house, kept separate from a nearby town. There were always rumors... a witch lived there, terrible things happened, but... they were but rumors, people worried about the strange sorceress from Nohr who came to live there after marrying a paladin of Galdwin. Even after two decades, there were still a few rumors, but no one doubted the conviction to God and country that burned through Zadkiel, and, it seemed, burned out of him, literally. A teenage son, barely 16, charged at his father, a dull sword in hand. He had blond hair, tall and beginning to show muscle like his father. The only thing odd about him was his red eyes... Same as his father. Zadkiel dodged to the side, throwing a small ball of fire, Markus blocking with his shield. “Faster!” Zadkiel said, “You have to get use to the weight of the armor!” Markus paused, then focused, his sword up as he stared at his father. Something seemed to stir, and Markus glowed slightly, the glow moving towards his legs as he charged, moving a lot faster now, taking Zadkiel by surprise. A blonde woman was between them now, magic glowing from her hand and pressing against her son's armor, the boy falling forward as his own was dispelled. “...He just... used magic...” Zadkiel said, worry in his voice as Markus sat up, looking dazed. “Yes... I used a counterspell...” Loralee said, looking worried. “He's inherited my magic... Aiden didn't have any potential for it, she got your fire abilities...” |

[Nohr] [Clearing] The two swords clashed together and Graham eventually jumped back, putting some space between them. He could tell that Liam was skilled – and he had a rare and powerful object in that sword of Cold Iron. Graham smirked, knowing that so long as his magic weapon was covered by earth it would at least still function. There was a flash of magic from his hand and the sword changed – it suddenly transformed into a whip! Still covered in rock, he slashed it out towards Liam! As the boys fought, Caitlin nodded to her sister. “Tell me about it...” She sighed. “Yeah he's actually pretty cool... but don't tell him I said that.” She had a feeling that Connor would probably object to anyone she brought home, but that was a bit different... |

Nohr [Castle] Steiner continued to march about, screaming at the top of his lungs. He seemed not to notice that Melord had slipped into a wall-he was dutifully searching for the princess...and repeatedly shouting "PRINCESS!" If Garnet was nearby, he was sure, she would hear him and reveal herself...right? [Tavern/Wagon] Cecil nodded, as did Didymus, responding with a "Understood, Elder", then both were quiet for a moment-Didymus longer than Cecil, for he spoke first. "I should be able to get us in, unless you'd like to take the lead, Elder?" They loaded into the wagon, and Didymus was quiet still, before speaking up. "Stay close to one of us, Aiden." The wagon would soon be departing, either way, and he was nervous, a little, but...he took a deep breath, and continued his silent prayers. He would soon sit up, and, while keeping his head beneath his hood, look about, trying to stay alert...he had to monitor his arm, ensuring his hand kept not too close...not too far from...his sword's hilt. He wasn't sure what to expect there, in Castle Nohr. But...he had dealt with missions before. This was still not terribly similar to any previous exorcism, monster hunt, or doomcult suppression...not most of them, anyway... Galdwin [Capitol] Richard laughed heartily as Gallic and Rin made their observances, Percival following nearby and his son at his side now. "Thank you, thank you both...it's true." he paused, looking less jovial for a moment and more earnest. "It is an INCREDIBLE burden that a monarch bears, wouldn't you say, Gallic?" he said. "I endevour to teach my son to understand the weight, and bear it...with the help of my dear friend Percival." he nodded to the Paladin, and his son remained silent. "And yes, I suppose we are doing well enough, but you of all people know that any appearance of wellness may or may not hide other, more sinister truths..." he said, looking to Gallic for a moment, leaving it slightly in the air what precisely he meant by that. "All the same, welcome, welcome! Here are your quarters!" he opened a door, gesturing at the room inside-it was a guest room that that would have come to expect for a visiting monarch and his wife-a luxurious canopy bed at the rear surrounded by a room containing a desk, with chair, mirror, and central table around which one could gather. A lavish rug covered the floor and ornate tapestries adored the walls. "Should you require anything else, please do not hesitate to let myself or any servants know. Get comfortable if you wish, otherwise, come along! Let us feast!" |
