[Nohr] [Kanna's Hotel Room] Joyce was still frowning when she turned to Laila. As much as she wanted to get all of this over with with Sage's father she was a big sister first. She needed to keep Blake from killing himself, or worse, unintentionally killing Rouge. "We go back to the party- we need to find Bl-" Suddenly the door opened, Kanna (and probably Rica) stepping in the room. Joyce blinked for a moment as she met her grandmother's glance, the older woman obviously looking at the dress still in Joyce's hands. "I'm guessing that's from Rouge?" [Jackson House] Rue looked back at Caitlin with a worried look but nodded, turning her attention to pulling out enough foodstuffs in order to make a stew for the group. She sat a few things in front of Liam to chop before looking over her shoulder once more. "Why don't you show Graham your room?" she offered, not thinking that sentence through - obviously. [Inn] “Something is wrong! Edda, GET BACK!” "Mija!" Chloe exclaimed, once again pushing Willow behind her as Moira raised a magical wall between them and Sire...And....Whatever else was now here. It was only here for a moment, and then instantly gone- along with Sire. Willow stood behind her mother, eyes wide. Thanks to her parents and her pretty much constant travel since she was old enough to remember she knew there were things in this world that were....Supernatural. Was this one of them? [...] Meanwhile from her own spot Crystal was once again watching on, eyes wide, attention grabbed when Sire seemingly poofed out of existence with some sort of....She didn't even know what! This was NOT good. |

Nohr (Gotcha.) And they were off! At high speed, finally, heading towards the border. Didymus allowed himself a bit of relief as they sped away-chocobos were not as strong as horses, nor as difficult to scare, but their speed, in this particular case, seemed to more than make up for it now. He was more used to riding horses, himself, but there was enough similarity that he was able to keep his seat rather easily, even steer the bird a bit (though he also noted that these birds seemed particularly fit for riding, which was also helping, he was sure). As Garnet began to comment, he listened intently. "We did slip through it on our way in, albeit under different conditions...we pretended simply to be travelers...perhaps we can outrun news of your "kidnapping", but...I would not count on that, for caution's sake if nothing else." he began to speak in reply to her. "If indeed they've shut down ANY passage whatsoever, a bold move, but perhaps a likely one in a case such as this, it will be difficult to pass, indeed, though certainly not IMPOSSIBLE...if we wish to pass without violence, the most preferable option, well...yes, the Order DOES discourage lying, but...if it comes down to that or have to kill someone, perhaps, or at the very least, fail in this vitally important mission, I think...it would be understandable, Lord have mercy...and if we must fight, we must. The important thing is to get YOU through. Perhaps we should scope out the gate from a distance to try identifying any better apporaches concerning it, though such an act would probably draw suspicion from their own lookouts. In any case...Elder Orlandu DID mention that he had someone in the Gate Guard that would get us through, but how exactly or who they were he did not mention to me..." He paused, wondering what had become of Cid or Cecil, as well, but shook his head-no time to focus on such things now. Or perhaps there was, on their cross-country ride, but the implications of what may have happened to them were not what he needed to dwell on, now. He needed to remain focused and sharp, not weighed down with concern over things currently outside his influence... "So we should proceed toward the gate and see what we can find-attempt to force a passage, if indeed we find no other way. Though perhaps Elder Orlandu's...insider...knows who we are at our approach..." He was quiet for a moment, before looking up and around...breifly, he gazed over at Garnet, then at Aiden, checking to see if they were alright first, then looking about...it seemed that everyone was all right, or at least able to continue...and for now, he allowed himself a moment to take in the scenery and the relative peace of their situation, if only for a moment. He still kept his eyes open, as they pressed on... Galdwin -Capitol- Percival had struck true! As the stone shattered and the screams echoed out, the Elder reared his steed back, slightly, hanging on with his legs and the straps that helped him keep his seating, as he used his hand not holding his lance to present the cross that hung from his neck in the direction of the sound, and the screams! "Begone in His name, minions of shadow! And if there be any trapped unwillingly in such sorceries...then peace. Leave this world, now, and go onto our Maker, and know that He shall have the final say on you-and, in time, on those who have done this unholy thing to you." He was quiet for a moment, head bowed, before looking up as he was warned of the burst of unholy energy! He spurred his mount to fly away, but tapped his lance-still ablaze, against a shield which he now drew from off his back, and the shield, too, began to burn with holy power, as he held it up-attempting to dodge, certainly, but eyeing a tower nearby it was heading to! As other soldiers and guards, seeing what was happening, dove for cover, or prayed against it, Percival noted a tower with some guards in it, and at his urging, his horse dove, to float between them and the wave of energy assailing them, Percival raising his shield against it in an effort to protect the tower and soldiers therein! On the ground, the Paladins at the edge of the blessed ground all held their position, kneeling in prayer as Richard cried out! "Its fell strength has lost its source! KEEP THE BEAST CONTAINED UPON THE CONSECRATED GROUND!" he cried, moving to strike again at one of its legs, feeling the rush of adrenaline as he guided his horse quickly between its rapidly stamping feet, in an attempt to corral it! |

-Nohr- Party “...Honestly, no,” Blake said to Samara, shaking his head. “But we gotta try. We're the good guys, after all.” Blake took Samara's arm now, moving through the crowd easily, looking for Madame Rouge, or some servant who could direct him to her... Kanna's Hotel Room “At least your younger sisters aren't here too...” Sage sighed. He could picture Elysia angrily throwing lightning in the party if she had been the one picked by Kanna for this mission... which is probably why Kanna contacted Joyce, she was more level headed. Then Kanna (and possibly Rica) appeared, Sage frowning. “What do you want?” Sage asked grumpily. He was aware that he could be easily killed by Kanna and/or Rica, but he wasn't going to let that stop him. Jackson House Mele stifled some laughter as Rue suggested Caitlin and Graham go to Caitlin's room, Liam not noticing himself. “I'll... wait outside, keep an eye out,” Mele offered then, heading back outside to wait on the porch, along with giving the couples some time alone. Also so he could laugh without being heard. Inn Edda oofed slightly as he was pulled back, shaking his head. “Augh... thanks Moira. Everyone okay?” he asked, looking to where Sire had been. “Or understood those runes? Damn, Paul probably would have...” Country Side “Perhaps heading straight to Galdwin is not the path we should take then,” Zadkiel offered, listening in on the discussion. “They know we have to get back there, but there are other ways around. It may take longer, but not as long as being captured would be.” -Galdwin- Capitol Gallic gritted his teeth as the ice reduced his flame, and when the crystal broke the corruption came at him too, hitting his left arm. He moved without thinking, and probably only Percival would see it from his vantage, Gallic's other arm coming around, slicing his arm off before the corruption could spread. His severed arm burst into flame, and scant seconds later new flame came from Gallic's injured arm, regrowing into a new arm as he finally landed a little away from the now dying beast. “Augh... that always hurts,” Gallic muttered through gritted teeth. -Hoshido- Shirasagi Castle Gardens As Hiko's attack tore at the creature's bark, hopefully giving Musashi an opening to strike true, Celeste reached out towards Hiko as he was slammed backwards, focusing her magic and softening the blows against him. He would still sit the beams, but in ways that would not cause long lasting injuries, a quirk of... almost luck for him... |

-Nohr- Party Samara frowned but nodded, not daring to say anything against his 'good guy' line. After all Blake was a good guy. She knew him better than anyone and she know the boy only ever had good intentions....Her on the other hand... The young woman looked around, pausing as she felt something. Something off. She pulled Blake towards the feeling, knowing something this off had to be Rouge. She led them to a large door and looked at him. "She's in there...Should we annonuce ourselves or just go in?" Because appearing in an intimidating poof of shadows would probably get the message across pretty quickly that they weren't playing games. Kanna's Hotel Room Kanna couldn't help but to raise a brow at Sage, off put by his bluntness. "Last time I checked this was my hotel room boy....So shut it" she then looked to Joyce "So I imagine everything with Rouge went well?" Joyce sorely wanted to know what her grandmother's definition of 'well' was. This was not any 'well' she knew. "She wants me to hurt someone...To pay back your debts." "And you accepted?" Kanna asked, eyes still on her granddaughter. She looked...Relieved? Joyce nodded slowly. "But....I don't think I can do it...Not now" At this Kanna frowned, looking to Laila. "What did you say?" she hissed, assuming Laila had immediately went to work to talk Joyce out of this. Jackson House Rue waited until she was sure everyone was out of the kitchen until she let out a small breath, continuing to chop some vegetables in front of her for the stew. She doubted this chance to talk would be long but at the same time she wasn't really sure what to say. Well she needed to at least say SOMETHING. "I remember when we used to help our moms cook dinner in here...Back when we were kids" Rue mused, trying not to turn pink. "They'd always let us peel the potatoes, probably because they didn't fancy doing it themselves..." The girl smiled, placing her chopped vegetables in the pot. Great, now she had no more cutting to distract her... |

[Nohr: Kanna's Hotel Room] Laila crossed her arms and stared up at her mother with annoyance. Kanna could always jump to the wrong conclusions, especially with her children. Laila honestly wondered how Melanie and Jason ever put up with her for so long. “Oh sure, blame me.” Laila shook her head. “Did you know what Rouge's little favor was? Did you realize she wants Joyce to murder Sage's dad? How f*cked up that you'd expect your granddaughter to do that!” Rica raised an eyebrow. Murdering Ryan? It didn't seem like much of a controversial idea. “... You really are a piece of work.” [Nohr: Jackson House] Caitlin's cheeks suddenly felt very hot and darkened considerably. “R-R-Rue! What kind of suggestion is that? Mom might be dead and you think now is a good time for me to go screw Graham?” Caitlin was never one to be subtle. Graham could only shake his head and turn away from the others, trying desperately to avoid eye contact as he sighed deeply. [Nohr: Inn] Moira rotated her shoulder and frowned. That rune... “I could have sworn I saw a rune like this before.” Moira wracked her mind, but she couldn't place it... but she knew there was something familiar about it...” She thought back to her... darker days. When she had worked for the Guild. She tried to recall some of the forbidden books she'd read, and then it hit her, and he stomach fell. “Sh*t.” Moira kicked the wall. “That rune was... demonic! Whatever took him... we have a big problem. We need to find the kids, and find out what the hell is going on!” [Nohr: Countryside] “Crossing the border will be difficult.” Garnet frowned. She remembered some of the maps she had studied since she started planning her escape. “My father keeps a lot of troops near the border. We used to have more troops along the southern border, but they were mostly moved to the western one... it's like he fears invasion from Galdwin more than...” She paused. “... Hoshido... wait... Sir Zadkiel, Sir Didymus, I do remember hearing stories... the bad-blood between Nohr and Hoshido is legendary, going back to the foundation of my nation. It is said that Hoshido's ninja clans have long used secret tunnels to get past our borders...” She frowned. “If we could somehow find one of those tunnels, we could slip into Hoshido! They would certainly never expect us to go that way... and then we could cross from Hoshido into Galdwin. It IS a longer way, no doubt, but... they would never expect us to go that way.” … for good reason. If a Nohrian Princess were caught by Hoshido? She would certainly be taken prisoner. [Hoshido: Castle Shirasagi Grounds] As Celeste helped to cushion Hiko from hitting so hard, the forces of Hoshido struck! Musashi charged, spurred on from Celeste's magical boost, following through the opening made by Hiko and he dove into the trunk of the great tree! Almost instantly he was surrounded by roots that were stabbing at him, and he felt the thick wood slam against his armor and he could hear it cracking – and he could feel the jutting pain of his flesh being torn! “F*ckin' tree!” Musashi groaned, as he stabbed out with his sword, the Ring of Fire flaring up as his sword's blade super-heated and he cut away several vines. In front of him, deep within the hole where Hiko had cut, he saw it – a black stone, buried in the tree's inner roots and giving off an ethereal sheen. Musashi frowned, and he slashed out, catching the stone – and then it exploded as the blade and the flames passed through it, and he heard a horrible sound. They would all hear it – the sounds of hundreds of people screaming in absolute terror and pain. The sounds of torture and despair, hopelessness and loss. It was awful, and it made Musashi sick to be so near it's source. He was thrown back, bloody and sickened, and he fell to the ground. But the tree had lost its evil source. “ONWARD! SLAY IT!” Ryoma had returned, bloody but alive, and the armies of Hoshido descended onto the tree, attacking it! [Galdwin: Capitol Castle] As the armies of Galdwin descended upon the great turtle, it still roared and shot its ice at them, but it was moving far slower. It was weakened and with the source of its power removed, it could no longer regenerate, or fight away the effects of the ground. With each strike, the beast was moving slower and slower, and the army was overtaking it! “BEGONE!” Owen had arrived, his sword burning with flames as he charged at the monster with the other Paladins. Meanwhile, Rin slowly strode across the battlefield towards Gallic. “Always so dramatic...” |

[Nohr: Jackson House] “R-R-Rue! What kind of suggestion is that? Mom might be dead and you think now is a good time for me to go screw Graham?” From her spot beside Liam Rue's cheeks heated up, the girl going stiff and turning on her heel towards the room where Caitlin was making (as usual) crazy assumptions. "T-That's n-not what I m-meant!" she yelled back loudly so her sister could hear her, before turning back to the food in front of her, now even less willing to make proper eye contact with Liam. "That's not what I meant" she muttered, this time quieter. [Nohr: Kanna's Hotel Room] “Oh sure, blame me. Did you know what Rouge's little favor was? Did you realize she wants Joyce to murder Sage's dad? How f*cked up that you'd expect your granddaughter to do that!” Like Rica, Kanna raised a brow at Laila's statement. Truthfully she had no clue who Rouge wanted dead, and until now she didn't much care either. But Sage's father was well known. Kanna had met him several times, and her opinion of him never really improved. Ryan McCall would deserve any punishment given to him. "That's interesting...." Kanna said, walking past Laila to Joyce. "And you've agreed?" "Yes...But that was before I knew-" "What difference does that make?" Kanna asked "Have you met McCall, he's not a good man" "He's Sage's father!" she exclaimed back, a bit annoyed now. "I can't just hurt him!" "Kill him actually" Kanna corrected "Even worse!" Joyce groaned, dropping the dress on the floor. [Nohr: Inn] "A demonic rune?" Willow asked, eyes wide. Chloe frowned, but nodded. "You think it's going to go after the kids?" "Liam could take it on" Willow decided confidently. |

[Nohr: Jackson House] “Well how am I suppose to know?” Caitlin crossed her arms, her own face very reddened by the experience. She stood in the doorway, watching Liam and Rue before sighing, walking over and collapsing into one of the chairs in the kitchen. “... Damn it, where is mom?” It was clear Caitlin was worried. Far more than she wanted to let on. [Nohr: Kanna's Hotel Room] Laila sighed. She hated to agree with her parents, but she was more than willing to kill McCall... but she didn't want to cause trouble for Joyce and Sage. They were good, despite their families, and Laila wanted them to be able to stay away from this kind of thing and have a chance. “... Why does Joyce have to do this?” Laila wondered. “If this is about killing McCall, why not just make YOU do it?” She asked Kanna. [Nohr: Inn] Moira said nothing to Willow. She liked that the girl had so much confidence in her brother – and she didn't want to tell her otherwise. The truth was, that demonic rune was a sign of something very, very dangerous. “We need to find them. Come on.” |

-Nohr- Party “...We'll knock. If they say no, then we'll go in,” Blake said, thinking it over. He walked over towards the large door, knocking on it. If there was no answer, he would shadow himself inside. Kanna's Hotel Room “That's not the POINT!” Sage yelled suddenly, feeling angrier then he was earlier, a fire in his eyes as he glared at Kanna. “Just because my father is horrible doesn't mean Joyce or anyone else should stoop to his or your level! You dug yourself into this mess and expect Joyce to get you out of it just because she's family? Well I think I have a good experience with terrible family, that's bullsh*t!” He pointed towards a window, in the direction of Rouge's party. “You know what your grandson did? He went back to the party, to deal with Rouge herself. You know why he did that? Because he wants to help his sister, because he thinks he has the power to convince Rouge to stand down. You don't care about your children or your grandchildren. All you want is what they can give you. Well I do care about Blake, he's like a brother to me, and I'm heading back to the party to help him.” With that Sage stalked forward, heading out the door and starting to hurry to the party, unless someone stopped him. Jackson House “I'm sure your mother is fine,” Liam said. “There were two horse tracks, so she's with someone else as well.” He smiled towards Rue, also wanting some time to talk to her alone, but knew right now they couldn't. Inn “With the cold iron sword he probably would be well equipped to deal with it...” Edda said, sighing softly. “There were wagon tracks, but no horse tracks, heading this way to your house... We must have missed them on our path here. But no horse tracks but a wagon... Maybe...?” Edda frowned, shaking his head. He had a thought, but he didn't want to believe it just yet in case it gave false hope. But then he glanced towards Moira, Willow, Chloe, and Sarai's faces. “...I think maybe Mele or Paul might have found them,” Edda said. “Wagon tracks, no horse tracks. Mele likes doing that trick, phantasmal horses to pull a wagon. He might have been in the area, he had been curious about where Liam was going when he heard Liam was going on a journey...” Countryside “It is true... I have heard that the current king of Hoshido is an honorable man. Even if we were to be captured, I would not believe it unreasonable to expect release. Whereas capture by the Nohrians...” Zadkiel said, trailing off as he glanced towards his daughter. “At the very least, Hoshido holds no ill will to Galdwin, and two Paladins should be good evidence we are not Nohrian.” “Maybe we could disguise Princess Garnet as well?” Aiden asked. “I mean... how many guards into Hoshido are going to know her well enough that a simple change of clothes or something won't fool them?” -Hoshido- Castle Shirasagi Grounds Celeste used her magic, grabbing Musashi and pulling him away from the tree now, getting him out of the way before she unleashed another blast of ice magic at the tree! “Sorry, I don't really know any healing spells...” Celeste said to Musashi, “Just hang in there, okay?” -Galdwin- Capitol Castle “Oh, knights like that are always dramatic when slaying beasts,” Gallic said, flexing his regenerated hand. “That thing... it is... overwhelming, almost. Alone I would have had no chance against it.” Gallic thought highly of his combat skills, for several reasons, not the least being his years as a gladiator. “We are going to need more help... And a place for the leaders to talk. Tell me Rin... perhaps Ylisse? A knightly order, the Galdwians may enjoy that. They use magic as well, and have heroes... They are probably the most neutral place for a summit...” |

-Nohr- Party Samara nodded, standing by Blake as he knocked. And waited. And waited. And waited. Not even a bodyguard came to the door. Samara frowned and looked to him. "Someone is in there. Three people actually" she said, eyes now back on the door. Kanna's Hotel Room "Sage wait!" Joyce exclaimed, dropping the dress and scrambling after the boy. Unfortunately she didn't make it out the door as Kanna grabbed her arm. "Let him go, you don't need him" Kanna stated. Joyce stared at Kanna in disbelief for a moment before shrugging Kanna's hand off of her arm. A second later she was out the door, leaving Kanna with Rica and Laila. The woman sighed, looking to Laila. "Go get her" she requested of her daughter. "This all would be much easier to do without Sage anyways. He can find Blake and we can be done by the time they get back." Jackson House Rue sighed looking back at the stew, now stirring carefully. As annoying as her sister being around was at times the girl was kinda right. She should have been worried more for her mom. The woman could be out there alone, hurt or even worse. The girl stopped stiring, stiffening a bit at the thought. If something happened to her mother she would never forgive herself. The thought almost made her want to throw up- “There were two horse tracks, so she's with someone else as well.” Rue looked back over at Liam, who met her eyes with a smile. Suddenly she was put at ease, partly because of his words and partly because of his smile towards her. She returned the smile weakly, cheeks red before looking down. Inn "So if Mele found them where do you think they could have gone from here?" Sarai asked, not acquainted with the young man like Chloe, Edda and Willow seemed to be. "Would he know the area? Do you think he could have got them to the next town?" Willow nodded. "Mele has traveled maybe even more than Liam! Surely he would know the way." she said. "Though if they found eachother at this point would they try to make it home, or to the nearest town?" "Depends on if anyone was hurt probably" Chloe said with a frown. She tried not to think of the worst, but the fact remained that they had gotten away from quite a few bandits. [...] Externally Jade was calm, but internally she was having a slight freak out. Sire had just disappeared with god knows what- leaving her and her man with more questions than answers. The blonde guy seemed to know what that thing was- and while she wanted to go over, hold an ice pick to his neck and demand he talk she knew better, especially after the beating Sire got at their hands. She also now knew that these people were related to the little whelps her men were still trying to find....That could perhaps help her. "Find those children." Jade ordered quietly. "But what about Sire?" one of the men asked. "He'll be fine, but for now I need a hostage. So bring one of them back. Maybe chop a limb off for good measure. Extra points if it's the one with the magic eye." The man nodded, quietly moving with a few of the other bandits to hopefully find the children before their parents did. |

[Nohr] [Kanna's Hotel Room] Laila sighed deeply. She knew she should have just ran the moment she saw family... an hour of spending time with her relatives, and she was involved in a possible murder conspiracy, and had possibly helped ruin Joyce's friendship with Sage. Add a sprinkling of dealing with her parents on top of that and she was ready to snap. “I'm not doing this for you.” Laila snapped at her mom, as she brushed past them and hurried out of the room. She went running to try to try to catch up with Joyce. There had to be some way out of this... Rica, meanwhile, just shrugged and looked to Kanna. “I always love family reunions.” [Jackson House] Caitlin looked up, and frowned. “... Yeah, but... who? I mean dad isn't supposed to be back yet... so who could it be?” [Inn] “... They're young. Not truly 'children' anymore, but still young enough that they're inexperienced in the world. Especially Rue.” Moira rubbed her chin, pacing a bit as she thought. “They would probably try to get home. Home means safety, especially their home. We should follow the roads back there, keep an eye out for them. I'm sure they're on their way back.” [Countryside] “It is unlikely I would be recognized in Hoshido... but if I was...” Garnet frowned. She glanced out towards the West, where Galdwin lay. She wanted to make it there as soon as possible, but she knew that may be impossible at the moment... she was sure that the army was out in full force. Xander was probably pushing the Dark Knights extra hard to find her... she was causing so much trouble for so many people... [Galdwin] [Capitol Castle] Rin frowned. Aside from Galdwin, Ylisse was probably her least favorite place on the continent... but it made a certain amount of sense. The Galdwinians would naturally gravitate towards the Knights, and the people of Aurelia could trust a more favorable outlook of magic.. “Let's talk to Richard. Set it up... if the Ylissian King will have us.” |

I'll bite your legs off!

Nohr -Countryside- Didymus listened intently as the discussion of what path to take next went on. He briefly considered that perhaps they had a point, perhaps a deviation from their intended course would prove beneficial, but perhaps not...at length, he spoke. "Well, those are good points...let us weigh the pros and cons of each course of action." he began. "For breaking from our course and going into Hoshido...the pros are, if I understand correctly, as follows: it would be an unexpected maneuver, Hoshido is not looking for you, and the path into it, if we can find it, and then, from there, the route to Galdwin, should be less heavily guarded. Finally, we have heard that their current leader is an honorable man who may be more sympathetic to our errand than the history between your two peoples would suggest." He took a breath. "The cons of that direction, as I see it, are as follows: it would extend our trip's duration, possibly beyond what we have provisions for. The paths that we would be able to use to slip into it undetected are hidden, covert ones, and we may not be able to find them. And if indeed their ninja agents use them, the odds of them being unwatched and even unguarded my indeed be rather low...provided we can even find them in the first place. Also, while Hoshido is indeed not looking for you, they have a long-standing and bitter rivalry with your own nation, and the opportunity to capture a Nohrian princess may be too good for them to pass up. And, finally, we would be further away from any potential aid that may be able to reach us from Galdwin, and otherwise we do not know what obstacles would present themselves to us upon that road." He paused again. "Now, our other option is to attempt to get through the West Gate, whether by force or by guile. The pros of that plan, as I see it, are as follows: we know exactly where it is and how to get there. It was part of the original plan, and as such would be quicker-we KNOW we have provisions to last us for the trip, or at the least that supply will not be as large an issue. We will be closer to Galdwin, and if worst comes to worst we may even be able to signal the nearby Galdwinian border posts for aid-risky move as that would be for a variety of reasons; I was told that should we make it into Galdwin, we would be...expected...at a border post, at which point we would be provided with aid. Additionally, Elder Orlandu mentioned that he had someone at the West Gate that would get us through-he did not tell me this person's identity, but if he said that, than I would argue it's a reasonable bet that there is someone at the West Gate sympathetic to our cause who could also help us there. Finally, that West Gate is the only notable obstacle between us and the relative safety of Galdwinian territory, barring anything truly unexpected." He took yet another breath, and finally moved on. "The cons of that plan, if I understand correctly, are that the West Gate is a formidable fortress that we can safely assume is on high alert after your escape. It will be not impossible, I think, but quite risky and challenging to force passage, should it come to that, even IF we somehow get some signal to the nearby Galdwinian border posts, and heck, getting them involved could start a war-an undesirable outcome in most any case, but especially NOW, from what I have been hearing...furthermore, the odds are very likely, or at least much MORE likely than in Hoshido, that you would be recognized attempting to pass through, and that we would have to try to fight our way through-which, as noted, would be difficult." At long last, he sighed and delivered his own take on the analysis. "Those are the pros and cons of each course of action, as I see them. There is notable uncertanity in both plans, but I think that there's a greater amount of "if" involved in Hoshido, making it the more unpredictable plan by a large margin. Personally, though it may be the mission-focused Paladin and the Galdwinian in me talking, but I honestly think that the West Gate plan presents the lesser risk overall, though still a great one-simply because we KNOW more of the factors involved, or at least have a better idea of them, and I think there are a few more solid pros to it as well-or at least, pros that we KNOW of-again, the Hoshido plan is based on so many unknowns. Though I admit some of those unknowns may prove in our favor, including so much as even FINDING the hidden passages...it seems like too much of a gamble to me, though really, either way we try this presents considerable risk. In any case, as reluctant as I am to just charge into an area where it is so likely our cover will be blown...my vote goes to attempting to pass the West Gate." There was yet another pause, before he spoke up once again. "That said, Lady Garnet, this is a rescue, not a kidnapping-you shan't be forced against your will to go one way or another. I have tried to lay out the pros and cons of each course of action, as well as give you my take on the situation, but I'd say the choice is up to you." Galdwin -Capital- As Owen appeared, charging and adding his own prayer and might to the struggle, Richard roared with a joyous laughter again. "HA-HAA! WELCOME, ELDER OWEN! WE HAVE THIS BEAST ON ITS PROVERBIAL LAST LEGS-THOUGH STILL ON ALL FOUR! LET US SEE IF WE CAN CHANGE THAT!" he bellowed. "COME ON, MY BOY!" he called to his son, who quickly rode beside him, and they rode up to join Owen as he charged! Richard was hoping that together, they may be able to deny the creature one of its legs. He felt so ALIVE... Percival still rode/soared overhead, keeping an eye on the creature! He knew that the blessing upon the ground would eventually dispose of the creature, especially with the source of its power struck down...so he focused his efforts on maintaining the perimeter and corralling the beast. If it threatened a Paladin or soldier praying at the edge of the blessed ground, he would move to defend them. If it approached one of the edges of the blessed ground, he would charge it from that direction, attempting to "herd" it back in! Edited by The Vidit of Light, Apr 11 2018, 11:19 PM.

[Hoshido] [Palace Gardens] Hiko knew that he was going to hit hard. In fact, he was already preparing himself for some broken bones, or at least some heavy bruising. And yet, just as he was about to strike the first of the walls, he could feel something twist in his surroundings... Or was it himself that he felt twisting? Something grabbed a hold of him, and he landed SOMEHOW feet first into the wall. Bunching them up as he hit, he could feel them give as well as the wall, but it was just enough for him to reorient his flight path and land hands first into the next wall, perfectly grappling the wood of one of the support beams. His fingers dug into the paper and wood as his body spun and his momentum was further arrested. And then, he was sliding, feet-first along one of the inner stone walls, landing with barely a bruise. It was uncanny, but somehow something worked with him. He even blinked, somewhat stupefied at his nigh-harmless landing and crash. It would be something to peruse later. That was NOT something he was capable of doing. Whatever it was... Affected him from outside. With barely a thought, he once more gathered some ki and 'stepped', once to get out of the building and then twice, arriving beside Tamamo in a flash of speed looking rather more ruffled than usual with some acid burns on the legs of his hakama and some of the straw of his sandals eaten through. He also had a few minor bruises, but all things considered, he was pretty much unharmed. "My my. Such a rambunctious child, that one, and most rebellious. Even a few disciplinary whacks did nothing to dissuade it from its path. Though it certainly looks like discipline is finally being administered MOST successfully." He relaxed a little, his eyes watching through the narrow slits formed by his eyelids, his own spiritual energy still building extremely slowly as the majority was being consumed by the spirits of the Rat and the Boar, still held within his own spirit, a curious mix of scents and senses of a fox, a rat and a boar in the same being. He watched as Musashi was helped up by Celest and the monstrous wooden creature was pummeled by attack after attack, looking much weakened. Edited by HellAvatar, Apr 5 2018, 02:50 AM.

I can't see what you're imagining

-Nohr- Party “...Then let's introduce ourselves,” Blake said, taking Samara's hand and focusing. He turned into shadows, sliding under the door before he reformed, glancing around, the darkness still dancing around him. “I need to talk to Rouge...” Hotel Lobby Sage was leaving the lobby now, a determined expression on his face... Jackson House Liam felt a warm feeling from Rue's smile, but paused as Caitlyn wondered who else it might be. “Do you have any other family in the area?” Liam asked, “Or friends of the family?” Inn Edda was quiet for a moment, thinking. “...They're not amateurs. They might be kids, but Liam knows how to keep a cool head, and so does Caitlyn,” Edda said, nodding towards Moira. “Rue would take their lead. But yes, I agree, they would head towards their home. It's a place they know is safe. We should head there as fast as possible. Countryside “If we can get to the West gate fast enough too...” Aiden mentioned, “They don't know we have some chocobo, we might be able to get their faster then word could reach, especially if they're using their wyverns to look for us instead of sending out messages...” Zadkiel nodded towards Aiden then Didymus. “All good points. This is not my mission, Didymus, but... may I have a word with you, privately, for a moment? This old man would like to offer some advice.” -Galdwin- Capitol Castle “From what I know of their King, they are honorable... if they have seen indications that the March is coming...” Gallic said, shaking his head. He then smiled towards Rin. “I can handle that, if you wish to remain in Aurelia to prepare for measures there.” -Hoshido- Castle Shiragasi Grounds “How much more does this thing need to go down?” Celeste frowned, holding her hands up, drawing forth her magic again. Shards of ice appeared around her, and she fired them towards the monster, trying to slash into it, then explode with ice and cold! |

GRAPPLING HOOK!

-Nohr- Party Samara nodded and closed her eyes, disappearing and then reappearing with Blake. When she opened her eyes they stood face to face with a very tall guard who stared down at them with a mixture of shock and anger. Behind the man stood another large guard who was busy clutching the throat of a man squirming on a desk. He was gasping for air but the woman on the other side of the desk didn't seem to pay any mind. Instead she looked more interested in the teenagers who just appeared in her office. “I need to talk to Rouge...” "Rouge is busy" the man answered, still glaring down until Rouge cleared her throat from behind them. The man looked back, frowning. "Let them through" Rouge stated, looking to the other guard who squeezed the man's throat tighter until his squirming stoped and he fell silent. Once again Rouge didn't look fazed. Hotel Lobby "Sage! Sage wait!" Joyce exclaimed, rushing after the boy but finding it annoyingly hard in her dress and heels. With a short groan she kicked off her shoes and scurried to not lose sight of him, now a good five inches shorter. Jackson House Rue walked over to the pantry, pulling out a few bowls as she thought about Liam's question. "We have uncles on my mom's side, but they live pretty far away and don't come to visit too often. Same with our grandfather....My dad's sister comes through a bit more, Moira, you've met her before" Connor's sister, though a traveler, spent a lot more time with the girls as children. Because of this she had been around a few times when Liam's family (also travelers) was visiting. Inn Sarai nodded, hoping Edda was right. Really it was their best bet right now anyways... "Alright" Sarai said, mounting back on her horse and helping Willow (who wanted to ride with her aunt) up behind her. |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Nohr- Party Blake moved suddenly, appearing by the man who was choking out someone, placing his hand unto the guard's chest and... focusing. Shadows swirled around his hand, then covered the guard, throwing him backwards into the wall... and through another portal of cold, swirling darkness. He turned around, bringing his other hand up as the shadows condensed around the other guard, slamming him into the wall, but did not send him away into the darkness, merely keeping him tied against the wall. After that, Blake continued to ignore Rouge, checking the man who had been choked, nodding slightly when he found he was breathing. Finally he stood up straight and stared at Rouge, his blue eyes looking colder then usual. “Your other guard should return in a few days. He may not be... responsive... at first,” Blake said, “I recommend a warm bath and heat when he does return.” Blake considered himself a hero, and didn't like killing, but that didn't necessarily mean he was nice to villains. “Now... can we talk?” Blake asked. Hotel Lobby Sage paused when he heard Joyce, slowing down enough so she could catch up. “...Did you come to help?” Sage asked, Joyce hearing a sound of hope in his voice. Jackson House “Then maybe it's Moira?” Liam suggested, “I'm sure your mom is fine though!” Liam was an optimistic guy. |
