-Nohr- Manor Kanna took Rica's arm and led him to the dance floor where several other couples were enjoying themselves. She wasn't sure what possessed her to ask Rica to dance but the feeling was surprisingly a welcome one. Years ago the two of them danced like this all the time, but lately she had become preoccupied with other endeavors. So had Rica in all honesty- they both had separate lives- even though they often came together like this by chance (or fate). Kanna moved close, dancing the same simple steps she had always, all the while keeping her eyes out for the children. Surely they couldn't have wandered too far..... [...] “Ya-yah... I think a girl like that would be someone I'd like...” "Good. Then we'll just have to find you one" Joyce said with a bright grin, leading him to the dance floor as well. "You know how to dance right?" she asked, expecting with his upbringing he probably knew. Inn Rue was starting to get a sinking suspicion of what was going on, but didn't say anything lest she look totally crazy. Instead she snuck a glance at Liam. He did want to see if she would travel with him....And he often brought her nice things from the places he visited...He never seemed too bothered when she was around....He always seemed to laugh at her jokes (no matter how dumb they were)...Maybe he liked her? Despite how much the idea excited her she could still feel the burning of her sister's glare. Caitlin was obviously not okay with this. "We'll be okay for a moment" she said quietly, trying to play it cool. Hotel "Alright, but I'd rather not get into that much trouble that armor is needed...At least not with Willow around" Chloe said, pulling on a shirt and pants, much more resembling a boy than a young woman in this day and age. By now Edda was probably well aware that Chloe wasn't much for fancy things. It had to be a VERY special occasion to ever get the woman in a dress. Jackson Residence “Do you know the quickest road to where Rue was going? We can probably make it before morning if we hurry.” Sarai nodded from her horse, pointing forward down a long road. "There's only one main way to get into any of the large cities so she would have to take this one" she stated. "The trip would have taken three hours tops, and there's very few people other than our vilage and a few traders that use it." And bandits apparently. |

Nohr -Dali- Didymus' hand was at the hilt of his blade, and he looked back to the mayor, a lack of an answer to his question only heightening his suspicion of the elderly man. But when he was warned of an overtly, clearly unholy presence nearby, his sword was out, and he prayed-the sword beginning to glow again with a golden light...and then he knelt, taking out a vial of blessed water. He tried to focus, praying for blessing, and poured out the water in a circle around himself, then stepped out of the circle, splashing more water in the shape of a cross in it. He then grabbed Garnet by the arm, pulling/pushing her into the circle. "In His name, this ground is consecrated! I invoke blessed sanctuary, let this woman find safety on hallowed ground!" Of course, whatever was going on beneath them, may well conflict with that...but hopefully, that would provide a modicum of SOME protection for her. He looked to Aiden, briefly, and titled his head towards Garnet and the consecrated ground. Was he urging her to stand on it, or to look after Garnet, or both? He then stepped forward, towards the creature, once again presenting the cross he wore to it, letting his overcloak fall to the ground. "In the Lord's name, creature, be you gone...and if by some degree of allowance or resilience you yet remain..." He knew Zadkiel was going to fight as well, and he hoped that he wasn't getting in his way, when... "HAVE AT!" he cried, charging at the creature and trying to drive his sword into it! Galdwin -Capitol- Richard nodded towards Jeanne, and Owen. "Very well, do what you must. Though if I may ask...what else have you been instructed to do, Jeanne?" He looked to Owen. "And understood. I...have not heard any word from Elder Cid...though...I do know the Order and our military have a patrol waiting for them on the border with supplies and means of transport..." At that point, the guard arrived. "Very well, I shall go and see them off then. Unless there's anything else, if then you'll have to excuse me..." he said. |

[Nohr] [Dali] As Zadkiel yelled out and Didymus prepared, the mysterious creature only watched them and jingled the solitary bell it held in one of its gloved, withered hands. From beneath the steeple hat its glowing eyes and shapeless face watched, but it did not attack. It only waited... … until Didymus stepped forward. When he began charging, the creature rang the bell and suddenly a massive wall of flames shot up between the Paladin and the Waltz, blocking his path with searing heat! There was a thunderous roar, and the Waltz jumped high into the air, its wings beating and keeping it flying well above their reach – and the ground shook terribly beneath their feet. Garnet gasped and fell to her knees, Vivi yelped and rushed to her side to help her. The town itself was shaking, and then an enormous scaly appendage halfway between a wing and a claw emerged from the ground, and something horrible crawled out. ![]() “Sealion! Sealion! My lovely steed; come now, come and help with this deed!” The Waltz sang as the massive monster emerged from beneath the town and let loose a horrific roar – and as it roared, a wave of magical energy rushed across the town! Ice covered the grass, and the broken ground, and the buildings around them! The entire central street was frozen over! “That... that creature!” Garnet gasped – briefly noting that where she stood was still grass. “No... it's not the creature, it's the mage! Be careful, whatever he is, he's a very powerful wizard!” [Manor] For once, the obnoxious grin that seemed eternally plastered to Rica's face was replaced by a much softer and more genuine smile. It had been a long time since he simply danced with Kanna, although he remembered their old steps well. It was easy for him to forget his business and his schemes when he was with her like this. It almost made him miss the simple days when they were young. He knew it wouldn't last. Neither of them were the type of person to ever forget their schemes for very long. Still, he enjoyed the moment while he could. Laila gasped as she saw Blake slipping the shadows out into the crowd and she quickly shook her head. “Hey, whoa! You don't need to do that! You don't want someone seeing one of those and freakin' out.” [Inn] Caitlin quickly dashed back to the room, packing her things and making sure she was properly dressed. Once she finished, she moved over to Graham's room and made sure his things were packed – she had a feeling he was in no mood to worry about it, with his eye currently gone. Once everything was finished, she came back downstairs. “Okay, I think I'm ready. What about the rest of you?” [Jackson Residence - > The Road] “Hmm, good.” Moira seemed... suddenly far less confident. If there was only one road and it was such a simple and short journey, then it shouldn't have been a problem for Rue. That meant something had definitely delayed her. Moira frowned, but tried to hide it from Sarai. She would just hope her niece had found something to distract her that wasn't dangerous. [Ylisse] “Oh can you now? Good.” Merlin quickly stepped away, returning to the area where they had fought the creature – either oblivious to, or intentionally ignoring the intense glare that Artoria sent his way. She turned her glare on Diarmund, clearly unhappy, but unwilling to debate the issue. [Hoshido] [Shirasagi Castle Guest Chambers] “The March...” Musashi frowned, leaning back. “I've heard stories. Guess everyone has... but I didn't think I'd be around to see something like that.” [Galdwin] [Castle] “... Is it, I wonder?” Rin replied simply, rubbing her chin, but saying no more. She did want to talk to her husband about the March, but not here. She didn't trust a foreign castle. It was impossible to know what ears may be listening. Owen frowned deeply at the King's words. It wasn't like Cid to dawdle, and it wasn't like him to not send word. The scarred old man gritted his teeth. “... The journey is a long one, and a dangerous one. No need to worry yet, but... I will prepare.” Owen stated simply, and then he gave a poignant look to Richard. “... you should prepare as well, your highness. If something has gone wrong, I'm sure they will assume Galdwin authorized this.” As the King departed, Jeanne merely gave a small bow of her head, before turning to Owen. “I would like to stay for a short while.” Owen nodded, and then departed. Jeanne knelt. |

[Hoshido] [Ryoma's Chambers] The listening swordsman kept his attention on Ryoma, carefully dissecting what he said for the underlying meaning. And as Ryoma revealed event after event, a pattern was certainly established, one that Ryoma himself obviously alluded to. It all started with Nohr somehow, and more and more events were being revealed, insigated, perpetrated, and completed right under the Empire's nose. The time of peace, it seemed, was over. But that's not all that caught Hiko's attention. In fact, the more Ryoma spoke, the more something else was bothering the swordsman... "You are being wonderfully open with me, Ryoma-san." He smiled, but there was something else within that smile. A caution of a sort, and while Hiko himself didn't seem physically tensed or readied, there was a sudden guarded air about him. "... Am I to fear for my life and well-being with so much confidential information being revealed to me by the Emperor of the Land?" |

Nohr -Dali- Didymus paused as the wall of flames shot up, believing he could make it through, but not entirely wanting to risk it. Would that I had Longinus with me... he thought. He began to make his way to the edge of the flames, when the ground shook a bit, and Didymus was warned, he could feel, of another creature stirring/approaching-not sure if it was already there but only now coming closer or becoming more active, or if some sorcery of the winged mage-creature before them had summoned or conjured it up. He regarded the second creature now, bracing-but not flinching-as it roared, and its sorcery shot out! He looked back, to see that Garnet was still standing-and Vivi next to her-hm, odd, perhaps. But the place where she stood was still grass, unaffected by the magic that had just spread forth. "STAY IN THE CIRCLE!" he called to her. His attention turned back towards his foes, and he drew his bottle of blessed water again, ensuring he stood in a straight line between his foes and Garnet. "Please, Father..." he whispered, splashing some of the blessed water out on the magical flames before him-in hopes of putting out a small enough part of them for him to walk through! If that indeed happened, he would slowly step forward, towards them-and either way, head slightly bowed, he began to mutter/whisper a prayer... "...far from us drive the foe we dread, and grant to us Thy peace instead, so shall we not, with Thee for guide, turn from the path of life aside..." ...his sword one more began to shine with a golden light, as he regarded his foes... Galdwin -Capitol- Richard had noticed Jeanne wishing to remain in the chapel-he would have wanted to stay a bit himself, whether to pray, to chat with Jeanne, or even simply observe her, but he had business elsewhere. He nodded to Owen. "We have been bracing for war for a while now, Elder. Namely with the Black March, but these signs of late have not been the only ones that all is not well with Nohr, either..." he said. "...but yes, thank you. We have indeed been preparing. If you'd excuse me." He took his leave of them, walking down the hallways, nodding to guards (some of which kept near him as he went from room to room as bodyguards) and eventually found himself standing before Gallic and Rin's guest room. He knocked, waving off the attendant who moved to do so for him. "Good evening!" He called. "I am informed you wish to depart, and only so soon after arriving! If I have rendered offense, I apologize, but surely your voyage can wait one more night?" He had to be a good host, after all. |

[Hoshido] [Ryoma's Chambers] Ryoma actually laughed; a very genuine and hearty sound. He shook his head towards Hiko, grinning rather brightly. “You have nothing to worry about. Every adviser I have has scolded me for years that I am far too open, and too trusting... but I will not change that.” He turned to Hiko, watching him with rather intense eyes, for the happy expression on his face. “I do not believe you are an enemy of Hoshido. Perhaps it is unwise for me to say so much... but nothing I've said here today is truly secret. Most of it is at best unspoken, an easily guessable by anyone familiar with what is going on.” He shook his head. "Now, where are my manners? Come! Sit, have some tea, if you'd like." [Nohr] [Dali] The Waltz was flying high above the Sealion, chanting its unnaturally creepy nursery rhymes and never once taking its burning eyes away from Garnet. The Sealion, however, looked down to Didymus and let out a roar! It easily towered over the Paladin, its body stretching up taller than many of the buildings in this small town. It raised its feathered arm, and the feathers shone like steel – and it brought down the deformed wing, and it was as if a tree was falling, with several blades protruding instead of branches! [Galdwin] [Capitol] For Owen, no preparation was every good enough. He was hard on them all – even the King. For he had seen horrors beyond any imaginable, and prayed none would see what he had saw... When Richard knocked on the door, Rin was quiet. She hated to play the part of the demure and quiet wife, but it did at least have the advantage here of letting her have an excuse not to speak to this man. -Nohr- Manor “Y-yah, I do,” Sage said, nodding to Joyce, carefully putting his hands in the proper positions, one on her waist, the other around to her back, moving in step with her. He was a bit hesitant, unsure of if he should speak further of this girl for him, being hopeful that girl was who was currently dancing with him. “What... might you say, if I had someone in mind, a girl like that?” Sage asked. Blake paused, looking around, then smiled. “People don't tend to look down... or up...” Blake said, “And they'll blend...” Indeed, the shadows a few feet from Blake would darken or lighten, depending on the light being cast in the large room, blending in with the floor as best they could. After a couple moments the shadows returned, Blake shaking his head. “I don't think Mr. Vire is here.” Inn Liam stared at Rue for a moment, knowing he didn't have long. But... he had to be... confident... “Rue... I... I mean... with everything that's happened here the past day, and you... I was... I was really worried about you, like... a lot... and I just... I...” Liam stammered, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. “I... really like you, Rue... a lot...” Hotel “Heh, perhaps, but I can't throw boulders at people either,” Edda said as he finished getting his armor on, “So this helps me level the playing field.” Especially since he had given his cold iron sword to Liam. Dali Aiden moved into the circle with Garnet, fire burning around her hands as she watched, ready to throw some flames if needed. Zadkiel focused his own fire, the flames dancing around him as Didymus came to blows with the Sealion. He brought his hand up, pointing it towards The Waltz now, murmuring a prayer as the fire condensed around his hand, turning white, firing a blast towards him! -Galdwin- Capitol “It is not a matter of offense, though I do apologize for us needing to leave so abruptly,” Gallic said to Richard as he came in. “But... The March. I can not tell you how I know, it would take much time and explanation, but it is not magical in nature, but I can feel it is beginning. I must return to my own nation to handle things there.” -Ylisse- “I am fine, my King,” Diarmund said to Artoria. “I can handle something like this, please.” He had his own honor to thank of. -Hoshido- Shirasagi Castle: Guest Chambers “Same here, honestly... I doubt anyone who's been in one thought they would be,” Celeste sighed, looking down at the ground, thinking. “...Listen... you've been... really nice to me. You haven't mentioned my... issue... to anyone here yet or anything... I haven't been... entirely forthright with you.” |

-Nohr- Manor Joyce looked down at Sage's hands as he carefully placed one on her waist and the other against her back. She could tell the boy was nervous, but wasn't sure what he really was worrying about- she was sure he had done this plenty of times with all the parties he had attended" She grinned at him and then started to move in a simple dance so that the two could continue their conversation. “What... might you say, if I had someone in mind, a girl like that?” "Well, I would say go for it! I mean i've been on dates a lot of guys- and I mean a lot- and if I know one thing from all those failures is that once you find the right person you'll know. If you let her slip by you might never see her again!" she explained, suddenly perking up "Oh! But you have to run her by me first. I think I know you better than you know yourself!" [...] “Hey, whoa! You don't need to do that! You don't want someone seeing one of those and freakin' out.” When Blake returned Samara did as well (having to follow him since she was essentially 90% of his powers) looking at Laila with a brow raised. She didn't understand the older girl's alarm. "Don't you have you own powers...Worry about yourself." [...] Kanna danced along with the music, moving perfectly in time with Rica. Even though she hated to admit it, this was nice. She hadn't just relaxed and had fun at these parties in quite some time. "Still know all the moves" she said quietly, looking down at Rica's feet for a moment. "You dancing with other women I don't know about?" Inn For a few moments Liam and Rue were left alone, the girl feeling a slight nervousness coming over her. Partly due to the group being constantly in danger and partly...Well because she was alone with Liam. “Rue... I... I mean... with everything that's happened here the past day, and you... I was... I was really worried about you, like... a lot... and I just... I...I... really like you, Rue... a lot...” Rue blinked, looking up to him, unable to force herself to make words for a second. "You like me.." she said, more as a disbelieving statement rather than a question. "You like me? I-I always thought you had a crush on my sister-" The girl instantly slapped her hands over her mouth, knowing how absolutely mood-crushing that statement was. The pink crept back into her face and she scrambled to salvage the moment. "Ah that was weird! S-Sorry! I mean I didn't WANT you to have a crush on Cait-AUGH enough about that- I-I really l-like you too!" The Road Sarai and Moira started on their trip, traveling almost an hour without seeing a single person or coach. While the Jacksons did live quite a bit off the beaten path there were usually at least a few people who shared the same road as them. Seeing no one was worrying. But despite the worry (and there was a lot of it) Sarai continued on, now growing more anxious to find her daughter. Finally after another couple of miles Sarai noticed something in the distance. "A coach" she called to her sister-in-law, squinting her eyes. It seemed to be alone in the sand, a lump which was a very dead horse was laying in front of it and a scattering of the coach's contents laying in the dirt. This couldn't be good.... Hotel "Just be careful in that thing. Armor or not you're not invincible" she said, moving forward to kiss him. Neither was she...But she tended to worry less about herself and more about her family. "And keep an eye on Willow. She's starting to show my recklessness. I don't want her to think she can fight off armies alone" |

[Hoshido] [Ryoma's Chambers] Hiko finally left the doorway and his previous position where he stood in between the Emperor's two shadows, finally coming out of their attack range and settling down at the low table before Ryoma, sitting calmly into a formal seiza position and settling down, quite comfortable and in no way inconvenient to his stature. "Some tea would be wonderful, thank you. Does your family still have their connection to the breweries to the south and purchase the Gyokuro from the great Tea Fields? I heard there were some troubles down there last year, I certainly hope it wasn't anything serious." He paused then, looking at Ryoma, eyes squinted but focused upon his conversation partner. "I am no enemy to the Empire, Ryoma-san. In fact, my heart bleeds and agonizes over the troubles the land has come upon recently, though I could do so very little to aid it in its troubles. Your concern is... Troubling. It has been... A long time since the last time the situation has slipped so far out of the hands of the Imperial Capital. And while I am but a mere wandering swordsman, I will aid the empire where I can." |

Nohr -Dali- As Didymus stepped forward, the sealion raised its bladed "wing" against him. He began running, seeing the creature's glowing orb-perhaps the "heart" of the monster, of sorts. He charged forward, but the wing was bearing down on him...he looked up as it bore down, seeing where it was going to strike... "Please, Father...grant me endurance..." he muttered, as he brought his shield up against the creature, still running forward... ...Didymus was not fast, nor would he come off as being terribly skilled. But in training, and often on missions, he had demonstrated/been blessed with a different quality: to endure. As the wing descended down, like a falling tree, Didymus' shield and armor, now, too, began to glow with a light as, while still attempting to charge forward (and push back), the Paladin braced himself for the terrible blow, hoping to deflect it and secure an opening... Galdwin -Capitol- Richard raised an eyebrow at Gallic's explanation, but nodded. "Yes, we have received many signs and warnings of the March's approach as well-indeed, is that not why you are here? In any case, we have been doing much to prepare for its...onslaught...and if you too must return to your realm to do the same, then I understand...safe travels, then, and we may well be seeing each other soon, ere long. The calls will be sounded soon, I am sure, that it has returned..." |

[Hoshido] [Shirasagi Castle: Guest Chambers] Musashi paused, and then shook his head. “I'm not one to blab other people's secrets. You guys were nice enough not to make a big deal out of my... status, and I appreciate that. Besides, we fought a big creepy dead thing together! That makes us comrades-in-arms!” He paused, as he listened to Celeste. “Hey, not like I was completely honest either. Don't really mention the Prince thing... but if there's something you want to tell me, I'll listen.” Ryoma paused, and nodded towards Kagero and Saizo. The ninja didn't seem pleased, but they obeyed – making their way out of the room and closing the door behind them. Saizo gave one last, rather unpleasant glower towards Hiko with his one good eye before disappearing. Ryoma nodded to Hiko, and began to make tea with a small, impressively ornate tea set. “Yes, we still have the Gyokuro. There were some minor disputes but it was all worked out by my sister, Hinoka. She's not normally one for diplomacy but when it jeopardized our tea she took the matter quite seriously.” He chuckled softly, but his heart remained hard. “I appreciate your aid. I fear that the time is coming when Hoshido will need all the aid it can get.” In another wing of the ornate castle, Tamamo no Mae had found her way to a small shrine. She slid open the paper door and sat in front of the shrine, lighting an incense and allowing it to permeate the small room. As she did, she could feel... stirring. “You have quite some nerve, showing your face on my mountain.” Tamamo did not see when the other woman entered the small room, but she had expected it. She sat perfectly still, with her legs crossed. “... I know. My apologies for disturbing you, but... my path has taken me here. I do not intend to stay, but... perhaps I can help with the woes Hoshido faces.” “Hoshido ill-needs a savior like you.” The other woman was much taller than Tamamo, and her presence was more... intense. She gave off an aura of strength – almost supernaturally so. “I cut off my tails you know. I lost everything.” Tamamo spoke quietly. “Hmph. And that is supposed to make it all better?” [Nohr] [Manor] Laila frowned at Samara. She could only sigh, and run her hand through her short hair. “... Geez, look lady, if you actually care about Blake, you need to use your... I mean, I guess you have a brain, maybe? This is way confusing... point is, you need to think! This is a party full of mages! Having weird shadows lurking around might make someone freaked out, and these are the kinds of magical weirdos who could actually do something to you; or Blake!” “You're the only woman I ever wanted to dance with, Kanna.” Rica replied with his usual grin as they moved across the floor in tandem. [Dali] As a blast of hot fire shot from Zadkiel's hands, towards the floating Waltz, the little creature barely dodged the flames as it zipped to the side. There seemed to be scorch marks on its wings, and it gave a shrill cry of pain as its attention turned to Zadkiel! The Waltz rang its bell, and several icicles appeared in the air around it – and then they shot out, flying towards Zadkiel! As Didymus braced himself, the massive winged claw came down at him! It hit hard, but either by luck or divine providence none of the razor-sharp 'feathers' pierced the Paladin's body! One of them slammed into his shield and embedded into the surface of the metal, and another came very close to stabbing at his leg. However, he did fell the full weight of the swing as it the bony 'palm' of the hand slammed into him. Nowhere near as dangerous as the claws, it still would have felt like being kicked in the chest – however, despite the pain, Didymus would have his opening! [The Road] The instant Moira saw the fallen coach, she grabbed the reigns and spurred the horse on forward. Soon she was there, she pulled back and practically jumped off the steed and rushed to the sight of the fight. She saw the dead horse, the burnt coach – and other bodies. Bandits, and what looked like the driver of the coach. Moira closed her eyes and swore. This had been a brutal battle... Without saying a word to Sarai, she raised her hand and drew a symbol in the air. The symbol was strange, parallel lines intersecting and a circle around them. It glowed with gold, and then Moira gasped once more and it vanished. “... They're alive.” She called out to Sarai. “They were here... they were attacked, but they escaped... and...” She paused. “It wasn't just Rue. I saw... Caitlin, and Liam, and another boy I don't know.” |

I'll bite your legs off!

Nohr -Dali- Didymus had stopped to brace himself at the last moment before the blow landed, and let out an audible grunt as the full force of the blow slammed down-but he stood his ground. By training, or divinely-gifted strength, or luck, or some combination of all these factors, he had endured the blow, more or less unscathed. He had no time to pause and give thanks, though-his focus HAD to be in the battle. He thrust his shield to the side, attempting to pull the bladed "wing" to the side, and then withdraw his shield from it, sprinting fast as he could (which may not have been terribly fast, but it was a charge) toward the creature's belly-and the orb at its center! He saw it and brought his sword up...and his body up, jumping as he brought his sword around, attempting to stab it into the orb! "IN LORD'S NAME, BEGONE, BEAST!!!" he cried as he brought his sword up and stabbed at the orb! |

[Hoshido] [Ryoma's Chambers] Hiko nodded seriously to Ryoma's comment about his sister. It was a rather comedic gesture, considering that he put more seriousness into talk about tea than he did about the empire's well-being. So it was in a rather no-nonsense manner that he spoke further, his voice full of seriousness that was half comedic... And half completely, deadly serious. "Your sister sounds like she has her mind in the right place. There is never too much effort that you could put into a good tea, and such matters require the utmost of one's attention. Besides..." He paused, picking up the cup that Ryoma had set down for him, taking a small sip and enjoying the taste of it before pulling it away from his lips and simply looking into the vivid-green drink thoughtfully. "I think she may be worried as well, Ryoma-san, and may seek distraction to focus her attentions upon. The events within the empire are unusual, and I doubt that she would be ignorant of the very problems that you are plagued with... And as she cannot do much about them, she might be feeling helpless and restless, ready to jump at any small situation where she might be of help just to ease that inner conflict." He set down the cup calmly, the dish making a very quiet chiming sound against the table which the two men sat over. "Which brings me to say that I doubt I could be of very great aid to you, Ryoma-san. I am simply a wandering swordsman that has seen a few things in the right place at the right time. Whether such fortuitous coincidence follows me or not is anyone's guess. However, I will advise you heavily that you do not spread much of this information freely, Ryoma-san. You are indeed too trusting, and I will readily agree with your advisors that many things are best kept secret and veiled until it is either time to reveal them, or they are issues that are solved. Please, do not take my words for anything but the warning they contain, I mean no threat by them." Edited by HellAvatar, Jan 12 2018, 08:25 AM.

[Nohr] [Dali] Didymus' sword slammed into the pulsating, glowing orb on the Sealion's chest! The blade cut through and embedded in, and the Sealion let out a terrible howl of pain! … and then flames began to spew out from where the blade had cut! The Sealion thrashed on its side, and flames spat out, spewing across the ground and setting flames to the grass, and to one of the nearby buildings – but just as quickly as the flames spat forth, a rush of icy-cold wind replaced them, freezing a different building! Then several bolts of lightning spat out, this time coming straight at Didymus and Zadkiel! It seemed the Sealion's magic was stored in that orb, and with it pierced, the creature was now uncontrollably throwing spells in every direction! [Hoshido] [Ryoma's Chambers] Ryoma sat, and he pondered. It seemed Hiko had the same advice as his usual counsel. It was advice he had heard many times before, and yet on some level... he knew that it was wrong. “... I am well aware that little is more precious or dangerous than a secret. I have been thrust upon a throne, and privy to more secrets than I care to know... and you are correct. It is dangerous to speak of this, and perhaps it is foolish of me to have said as much as I have said.” He sipped his tea. “However... I do not believe you will misuse a single thing I've told you. This mountain has its own protections, better than any I could dream of. It has a protector... one who allowed you to come here. And you come with my brother, and while Musashi has a great many things to learn about this world... I do trust his word.” Ryoma smiled slightly. “Make no mistake, my thoughts are ever on the situation my land finds itself in. There is much I have not shared with you... but I am confident we will be fine.” |

[Hoshido] [Ryoma's Chambers] Hiko's ponderous little expression softened into a smile as he once more heard the proof that this man was part of the emperor's bloodline. So foolhardy, so reckless and so very sure of themselves, that has always been the way of the Emperor of Hoshido. Whether for good or ill, they always had an air of confidence, and while Ryoma's was flickering, it never truly wavered. The land was in good hands. "Then make sure to always share that confidence, that strength, with all those you consider family, Ryoma-san. I could feel the tension within the castle, and seeing how you greet strangers, it is no mistake that these tensions are reaching some boiling points. Your siblings and subjects need to know of your confidence, Ryoma-san." He took one last long drag of the tea, finishing the drink and setting the cup down upon the table before offering Ryoma a small seated bow. "It has been a wonderful conversation, Ryoma-san, but I do believe that we have spoken of everything we needed to speak of. I wish to offer my prayers at the local shrine before heading off to some rest myself. May I be dismissed?" |
