[Manor]

Rica was silent the entire time, not reacting in any way outwardly. Inside though he had a million questions. Who was this Madame Rouge, and how did Kanna come to owe her money? And why was she willing to involve Joyce and Blake?

He waited until Kanna and he left the room, and then he moved very close to her.

“I want some answers, Kanna.” Rica whispered as he walked beside her, hands in his pockets. “If you're in some kind of trouble with that woman there are easier ways to deal with it.”

His first instinct was usually just to murder people.

[Jackson Residence]

When Sarai rushed off to the other room, Moira just sighed and slowly stood up. She hadn't expected a situation like this... but she wasn't about to leave Sarai squirming. She liked her sister-in-law. Sarai was good for Connor, and she was a great mother. Moira would help her out, although she still suspected that Rue was late coming home for an innocent reason (or at least, nothing life-threatening).

When Sarai returned, Moira just shrugged. “Don't worry about it. This'll be a piece of cake. It's a short trip, we find Rue, make sure she's fine, and then you can buy me dinner.”

“I want some answers, Kanna. If you're in some kind of trouble with that woman there are easier ways to deal with it.”

Kanna continued to walk, not making eye contact with Rica. Despite this she answered. "Look. Rouge and I worked together a few months ago on a couple of projects. During one of those projects I attempted to steal everything she had and I may or may not have tried to kill her. Obviously it didn't work."

The woman looked annoyed. It wasn't often she was in this situation. "She didn't kill me, but I do have to pay her back. Joyce was going to help with that- only if she was interested in course." Kanna continued, knowing she didn't sound convincing in the least. "Blake may be able to speed up the process a bit"

[Jackson Residence]

Sarai gave Moira a small smile and a nod, heading out of the house with her sister-in-law (only after leaving a note for her husband and youngest daughter in case one of them actually returned while they were gone.

"We can take the horses" Sarai offered, motioning to the barn. While timid and shy with the backbone of a jelly fish Sarai actually could ride- quite decently in fact.

Mansion

“Oh, hi Lalia!” Blake smiled as his aunt showed up, looking concerned though when she mentioned he needed to be careful.

“Don't worry, Joyce and Sage are here too, and Samara will help,” Blake smiled, “Are Adrianna and Aaron here too?”

“A couple times, my dad would make me come in to introduce me to people,” Sage said idly. “Or just to introduce me to some girl then dismiss us...”

Hotel

Edda nodded. “I think Willow can handle it, especially when we're with her. And... well, Liam went off on a journey and he's only a couple years older then his sister.”

Inn

“So... what was that all about?” Mele asked now, whistling as the rock buried itself into the ground again.

“Why were you even here?” Liam asked, eying his friend with a frown.

“I heard from Dad that you were going on a journey across the continent like your dad did, and I wanted to see about tagging along,” Mele answered.

“Okay, but how did you know I was here, specifically?” Liam asked.

“I guessed. I thought 'Where would Liam go first?' and I thought 'I bet he's going to see Rue and try and see if she'll travel with him so they can make out,'” Mele answered with a grin.

Liam found himself turning red now.

Dali

Zadkiel nodded towards the mayor, looking around idly.

“I know a bit of it. I am not a mage nor a farmer though, so just what I've heard from others,” Zadkiel said to the mayor. “What manor of crop are you harvesting, by chance? My wife might be interested to know when I return.”

Aiden nodded, staying close to Didymus now, keeping her eyes and ears open as she glanced around.

-Galdwin-

Castle

Gallic nodded, standing up now. “We may need to leave tonight... It's still a bit early, we should say goodbye the our hosts. Hopefully Taichi and Nanami won't be difficult to locate...”

“All I know from Aurelia is that the current king lead a revolt against the old kind and married the old king's daughter... Seemed... odd, but there's probably more too it,” Celeste said, shaking her head. “But... Elgaia... I think that what would happen there is that they would debate on who to back, and just certain individuals would get tired of it and send different heroes and regiments to both players depending on who they liked...”

She sighed, finding a seat and sitting down. “Nohr is definitely toying with some dark magic...”

-Ylisse-

“I am... here... my liege...” Diarmund said, staggering forward from the trees, using one of his lances to support himself, grimacing from a wound. “I am fine, tend to Lancelot. My wounds are not critical.”

He took a deep breath, clearly hiding some pain, but he was in better shape then Lancelot...

As dark and terrible power slowly began to seep into the knight...

Didymus looked about, glad that all of their party was once again gathered together. As he continued to pray for protection, and for sight to see any threats incoming, he led the group back in the direction of the stables where the mayor and Zadkiel were speaking.

He wrapped his cloak a bit tighter around himself, moving slowly so as not to even run the risk of being separated even by a small bit from his companions. Was he being a tad paranoid? Perhaps. But between what they'd been through so far, his lingering concerns about Vivi, and the oddness about this town, and what Garnet insisted, what he may even have been warned about here and there himself...

...he was tense. Still, the group eventually made their way back to the stable that he had noticed Zadkiel heading towards, and looked about.

"Hello again. How goes the saddling?" he asked. He was relieved, at least, that from what he'd been told, they could simply rent these chocobos for a one-way trip, and then simply send them back without stealing them or having to go back themselves...

Richard chuckled at Owen's comments, slightly.

"In my defense, I DO try to have days where any of our people can come and address me..." he said, but nodded. "In any case, if the Order's patrols aren't covering enough of our lands, I'm sure that Percival would be willing to discuss them..." when they entered the chapel, Richard removed his crown from his head, and looked over at this girl being presented to him.

Strange, he thought, her attire-purple robes and partial armor-unusual, he thought, especially for a farm girl. But, he thought, there was an emerging middle class in the nation, so it wasn't entirely out of the realm of possibility that a common citizen could get their hands on such things...still, it was not what he expected when Owen had said where he had found her.

When she bowed his direction and addressed him, he smiled heartily.

"Thank you, young miss, though do watch how low you bow to me in this place, if you please." he said, gesturing around at the chapel. "I should hate to get all the marks of fealty that should go to OUR Lord..."

He paused.

"And with that said, welcome, welcome! Was your journey here pleasant? Were the guards and others you met here appropriately courteous? Are you thirsty, shall I have some water brought?" he asked in quick succession-the Lionheart was known, at times, to be boisterous.

"And all that aside, I am told you have something of considerable importance to say of me. Impressing Elder Owen does not come easily, so for the moment, young miss, you have my ear."

He had seen many blessed individuals throughout his life-many that he knew were greatly blessed, as Elder Owen said this girl was. Elder Percival, he thought, first and foremost, and all manner of others from all corners of the realm, and even beyond it. Many were genuine-some were not.

He was confident that Owen would not have brought this girl if she was the latter, and waited with intrigue for what she had to say.

“A couple times, my dad would make me come in to introduce me to people, or just to introduce me to some girl then dismiss us...”

Once again Joyce felt a tinge of jealousy rise up. She quickly suppressed it and cleared her throat. "To do what?" she asked, trying to make it sound like an innocent question. She knew this all was horribly hypocritical, she shouldn't ask about her best friend's personal dealings...Especially when Sage never bothered her about her own....And she had had plenty of dealings until this point-

Hotel

Chloe didn't seemed 100% convinced but she sighed and gave a small nod. It wasn't that she didn't trust Willow, the girl could more than defend herself thanks to genetics, but she just didn't want her dealing with such dangerous situations quite so young. But Edda was right...Liam wasn't much older when he left.

"Fine. But miha, you stay close" she said, choosing some close and stepping past them to the bathroom. "No being reckless until we know what we're dealing with"

Willow nodded enthusiastically "Of course!"

Inn

Like with Liam Rue's face instantly turned a shade of red when Mele made his comment about his friend's intentions. The girl didn't quite know what to say- after all Liam didn't like her like that, he was her best friend! Her best friend that SHE had liked for quite some time, but it wasn't returned...

Thinking about this was making the girl dizzy (but that could have just been the stress of the situation) so she shook her head, and took a small breath. "We need to go...Somewhere" she said. "Somewhere we can't be found by that woman...."

(Apologies for neglecting the RPs for a few days; I've been insanely sick and on loooots of meds. XDX)

[Manor]

Rica wasn't convinced, but he also wasn't in any position to judge. He was fairly certain he had done worse things than Kanna if someone wanted to tally the score, but her getting their grandchildren involved seemed like an especially bad idea.

“You're not worried to get Blake and Joyce mixed up in these sorts of things?” Rica asked. “... Can't imagine Melanie's going to be happy.”

Laila shrugged as her siblings were mentioned. “I doubt it... I haven't seen those two in a while, actually...”

She sounded a bit sad. Laila had always felt close to her siblings, but she had a rebellious streak and tended to do things on her own. It was complicated, and she wasn't always sure she understood herself.

[Inn]

Caitlin shot a rather intense glare at Liam, and Mele, but said nothing. Instead she walked over. “I'm glad you're here, but we really shouldn't just stand around. That crazy woman could be back... she doesn't seem like the type to give up.”

[Jackson Residence]

Moira grinned, and then followed Sarai to the barn. She whistled a bit, impressed at the collection of horses.

“I forgot you had horses! This is great! We can take a couple and make fantastic time.” She walked over, examining one of the horses and reaching out her hand to it – the large animal clicked its teeth and sniffed at her hand.

“Let's get them saddled up and get on the move!” Moira seemed excited enough.

[Dali]

Mayor Morrid actually brightened up. “Gysahl Greens, of course! They're delicious, but far more importantly they're a chocobo's favorite food! With them you can coax a chocobo into doing pretty much anything! They're essential for chocobo breeding and riding, and they make our little town important to the Kingdom!”

Around that time they reached the barn, and Morrid walked over to a large crate and pulled out a bundle of green leek-like veggies. “Here, since you'll be taking some chocobo, you'll need some of these.”

Zadkiel obtained Gysahl Greens! Select them on the Item Select Menu Page.

Around then, Didymus and the others arrived, and Morrid waved to them. “We were just about to get started, if you want to give us a hand.”

[Ylisse]

Artoria frowned. Two of her best knights both injured from this... 'Aku'. A creature unlike anything she had ever seen before. Her face was hard as stone, as she shook her head.

“Wizard! We must return to Camelot.” Artoria called out to Merlin, who shook his hand dismissively.

“I need to stay and study the energy still in this area. Perhaps I can learn more about our mystery enemies...” Merlin rebutted. He paused, looking to Diarmund and then pointing his staff at the injured knight. A moment later and a rain of pink and red flower petal appeared overhead and rained down on Diarmund – the flowers attaching to his wounds and slowly seeping into them, stopping the bleeding and mending the cuts.

Artoria didn't look pleased, but she turned towards Lancelot and slowly lifted the knight, supporting him by putting his arm around her shoulder as she slowly made her way back towards the horses.

“We will be home soon, and you shall rest.” Artoria whispered to her friend.

“Ugh... something... is wrong...” Lancelot whispered.

“Save your strength. You don't need to talk.”

[Hoshido]

[Shirasagi Castle: Guest Chambers]

Musashi nodded, taking a seat across from Celeste. He obviously wouldn't be staying in the guest chambers with the others – he had a bedroom at the castle – but he would stay here for now, and speak with his new companions.

“I don't know much about Aurelia or Elgaia. I've been to both nations before, but only briefly, and even then I was mostly interested in the locals and not the politics. Nohr though...”

Musashi sighed, shaking his head. “... I mean, I'm hardly impartial since my nation has basically been at war with Nohr since both nations were founded... but... something is definitely off. I remember a long time ago, when I was pretty young and my dad was still alive... he was very happy one day. I asked him why and he said I was too young to understand, but that Queen Brahne and King Garon were good people and he thought we might finally have peace some day soon...”

He shrugged. “Something changed... I don't know what... but around the same time my dad died... Queen Brahne and King Garon changed... my brother thinks Brahne's talk of peace was just a ploy, since he blames Nohr for our father's death... but I don't know. Dad seems really convinced...”

[Galdwin]

[Castle]

“If that's your decision.” Rin nodded, but she paused. She didn't want to speak freely here... she didn't trust that the people of Galdwin didn't have some way to spy on them. Still she walked closer to Gallic, and whispered.

“Do you truly think we'll accomplish anything with this trip?”

“You do. You are quite good about that, but I doubt this girl had the means to travel to the capitol on her own, and she comes from such a remote place I don't know that you'd ever have cause to travel there.” Owen explained. “Still... I believe her enough that I've given her armor, and been teaching her how to swing a sword.”

It had been many years since Owen personally trained anyone. He had little patience for it anymore.

Jeanne nodded to the King, smiling slightly. “Thank you, highness, for your welcome and your warm words. I have never experienced a journey quite like this one, but I am honored to have cause to make it.”

She took a deep breath. She was clearly a bit flustered, but she steeled herself. After what she had already seen, conversing with a King was... fairly tame.

“I have been given a vision from the Lord. I have seen what is to come in the future – the very near future.” Jeanne said, wishing she could have conversed more with Richard pleasantly, but knowing that her errand was one that could not wait. “... The Black March draws close. Even now, the first battles are being fought. In the Holy Land, and in Ylisse.”

Owen had already heard her vision, but he remained silent as she spoke.

“... but there is something more. An opportunity unique in our history. For the first time, all of the Archdemons who lead the March will descend on our world at once. They plan on nothing less than the utter destruction of all mankind... it will be the worst March that there has ever been, but when the skies are their blackest, an opportunity comes with it; an opportunity to put an end to the Black March once and for all.”

Owen finally spoke up. “Your words alone will not be enough. Show him, as you showed me.”

Jeanne hesitated, and then nodded. She stepped forward and reached out and touched the side of Richard's face – and then a golden light enveloped the King's eyes.

Then the King would see her vision...

“You're not worried to get Blake and Joyce mixed up in these sorts of things? Can't imagine Melanie's going to be happy.”

Kanna continued with a slight shrug "Eh, she's rarely happy at what I do nowadays. This won't change anything"

Kanna stopped, looking around the crowd of the party. Despite it being relatively early in the day the room was quite crowded. She wasn't able to spot Joyce or Blake anywhere..."

"Anyways I plan on keeping them safe. Why do you think I brought you with me this time? I pay my debt, try round two on Rouge if I have the time and get the children home safe and sound. Easy.....If I could find the damn children."

[Jackson Residence]

“Let's get them saddled up and get on the move!”

Sarai couldn't help but to give a small smile at her sister in law, the woman moving to grab saddles for them both before hoisting herself onto her horse. With her husband so busy lately she had spent quite a bit of time riding. It gave her something to do and on top of that, helped her gather some form of confidence that otherwise she was lacking.

After a moment the two were off, heading towards the town she had sent Rue to the day before. For once Sarai cursed living so far out, as she knew the trip could take several hours.

Didymus had been looking about, even praying to see any threats. He kept close to the group, and did his best to ensure the group itself also stayed fairly close together. But he also attempted, however subtly, to ensure he was standing in a position that put him between Vivi and Garnet (difficult as Garnet seemed fond of him). He still didn't fully trust Vivi. Was he being paranoid? Perhaps. But he figured that even if so, it would be better to apologize for being awkward and suspicious if he was wrong, then have Garnet harmed and this incredibly important mission sabotaged if he was right.

They had finally entered the stables, and could see Zadkiel and the mayor with some vegetables.

"Started in suiting up the chocobos? Um...certainly, how can we help?" he asked.

They were, he thought, almost out, but he wondered if there wasn't something more that they could learn...again, something did not seem right...maybe he was being paranoid, maybe not.

Galdwin

Richard raised an eyebrow when Owen mentioned he'd been training this girl. He pondered a bit, multiple thoughts coming to his mind, but said nothing-it was not his place to lecture the Order on its internal affairs, and if Owen truly believed he was meant to do this, he wouldn't argue.

He listened as Jeanne spoke, and nodded-he had heard of skirmishes breaking out, and had been in conversation with Percival about the events that were being seen, and unfolding-these latest battles that Jeanne spoke of, though he may not have known them, only further confirmed the prevailing theory-and frankly, the notion he was operating under.

The Black March was coming. Soon. Now, even. It was arriving. A bit of grim amusement played across his mind, gladdening him that his preparations for war had not been for nothing-though that would have been preferable, all things considered...

"All of them at once? You mean...in the open? Clearly revealed?" he asked-this was a rarity, indeed, perhaps even unheard of. Their presence in the world was constant, that much was known-but for their own safety's sake they'd never all openly declared themselves and marched forth in full unholy "splendor" before all at the same time...

He was surprised when Jeanne stepped forward and suddenly reached for him-to be touched by someone he was meeting for the first time, without even being asked, was quite rare for him (when he wasn't incognito, at least), and before he could react, he could see...

"Yes...yes...I...see..." he said, taken with the vision. "...an open chance...like none other...the mystery and hiding done with! Open battle, open war, meeting them all! HAH!" he cried, the "lionheart" in him acting up. "An open challenge! Steel against steel! No tricks, simply meeting in open war and letting strength and grit prevail! HAHA!"

The Lionhearted was beginning to feel his blood stir...

Rica could only chuckle. Kanna's plan wasn't the best he'd ever heard, but it was exactly the sort of bold thing she would do... it was part of what had always fascinated him about her. So he would follow along. He could keep the kids – and Kanna – from getting into too much hot water, and Rouge might have some useful things laying around he could steal later.

“I'm sure they're around.” Rica commented as he glanced around the party. “We have time. Just relax, this'll all work out. Worst case scenario I kill everybody and we go home.”

[Jackson Residence]

Moira quickly set up the saddle on one of the horses and patted it gently. She was fairly good with animals – usually better with them than she was with people. The redhead climbed up on the horse and led it out of the barn, following behind Sarai as the two set off towards town.

“Do you know the quickest road to where Rue was going? We can probably make it before morning if we hurry.”

[Dali]

In the barn beyond Zadkiel and Morrid were several large chocobo. The large yellow birds were known around the world for their speed and intellect. They made fantastic mounts, and could traverse a far greater degree of difficult terrain than most horses species... but the bird were easily spooked, and riding them could prove a challenge for some.

As Morrid started to saddle up one of the chocobo, a loud sound suddenly echoed out across the small town. A massive boom that shook the ground beneath them!

[Galdwin]

[Castle]

Owen waited until the King had seen the vision, and then he slowly shook his head. “It is foolish to believe there will be no tricks. When it comes to demons, especially of this caliber, trickery is their bread and butter. However... you have seen the same vision as I. If our enemies will make themselves known openly, we have a chance to strike them down and put an end to the Marches.”

He didn't seem nearly as enthusiastic as Richard. “However... there is only one reason the legions of hell would do something like this; because they will attack us on a level like never before. Make no mistake, your majesty... you shall either be the King who presides over the end of the Black March... or the King who sees the end of Galdwin. This will be a battle unlike any faced before. Victory comes with a far greater prize than we dared dream... and defeat means utter defeat. That is why we must win – and we shall.”

Didymus followed along/looked around, continuing to ask for guidance and warning of danger and evil, and keeping an eye on the group. Up ahead, he could see the barn that housed the chocobos they would, he presumed, be renting. He found them to be interesting, and sometimes their chirping sounds he may have even found...cute. Not as beautiful a creature, he thought, as a horse, but (usually) faster and certainly more adaptable to terrain than horses...but their (usually) weaker musculature and tendancy to scare more easily usually meant that a horse was the better choice for a combat mount. He knew that Galdwin used chocobo cavalry for scouting and even some light cavalry purposes, but usually saved heavy cavalry duty for horse-mounted soldiers.

The Order usually preferred horses for its mounts as well, and he had trained with a horse. He wondered how different a chocobo would be...

...as he mused internally about chocobos, there was suddenly a loud boom and the ground shook!

"Earthquake?!" Didymus asked, but his hand flew to the hilt of his sword, and he stepped a tad closer to Garnet.

"What's going on?! He asked, as the sound passed. Mayor, pardon me, but...have you any idea what that could have been?"

This town was suspicious, and he was starting to want some answers, though it seemed their escape was right there...

Galdwin

-Capitol-

Richard looked to Owen as the vision passed, and nodded.

"This is true, trickery of some caliber is indeed quite their forte. But this vision...implies that there will be at least a degree less of that."

Something was burning in his eyes. Passion. Excitement. Exhilaration.

As Owen went on, and mentioned the two possible outcomes of the situation, he grinned, however weakly.

"Death or glory, then, is that it?" he laughed. "Possibly both, for me anyhow. Make no mistake, Elder, I know that this also means a war against the March the likes of which, perhaps, we've never seen-and all the tragic suffering that will bring. But a chance to meet our foes, openly, in battle, to march out under banners of God and Galdwin and END the March?"

He chuckled, however grimly.

"I wager that this will be worth a song."

He knew that war was terrible, and he did not seek it...but Richard was not nicknamed "the Lionheart" for nothing-though he knew it could be a put-down as well as a compliment...

"All the same, thank you, and may God be praised, for showing me this. Granting us that much more clarity in the dark days to come. We...have been anticipating this for a long time-not necessairly what you've told me today, but another Black March. My own agents and the Order and Church have been saying that the signs have been appearing-and I have been endeavoring to prepare Galdwin's armies-and indeed, our entire nation-for the struggle to come. The March is always playing for keeps, death is always the only result if we fail to stop them, but this...what we see here, what we are being shown, perhaps, if anything, this is cause to redouble our efforts...thank you both for making this trip."

Richard could feel it-and they may have been able to see it, in the way he spoke, his body language-exhilaration was filling him, and resolve.

"Haha!" he called out, and moving towards the front of the chapel, knelt, removing his crown and spoke outloud, though it seemed that it wasn't only for God his words for.

"That these days should be ours!" he proclaimed. "What burden! What blessing!" He rose again, calming himself a bit, before looking to Owen and Jeanne again.

"My thanks again, and thanks to God, for granting me this...insight, sharing it with me." he said. "I know not what you plan to do next, but if you are tired, then you are welcome to rest here for the evening, though perhaps the city's Paladin Enclave is a better place for you?"

Zadkiel was managing to remember what to do with chocobo, when the explosion sounded, the ground shaking around them.

He frowned, keeping cool and glancing around, red eyes searching everywhere.

Aiden looked around, feeling her fire ready to spring up if needed, but kept it down for now.

Manor

“Probably wanted to marry me off to them for some money or something,” Sage said, frowning. “Most of the girls were from families that still believed in dowries.”

Sage's look let Joyce know what he thought of that. “Even if they weren't, they weren't really... ummm...”

He paused, remembering who he was talking to. Despite his crush on the girl, Joyce was also his best friend. He felt very comfortable talking to her, and often said things without realizing it around her.

“They... weren't really my type, I guess...” Sage finished carefully.

Blake frowned slightly, then smiled as he stepped forward and hugged his aunt, probably annoying Samara as he pulled back, grinning at the relative.

“It's okay! I'm sure they miss you too. Maybe Mr. Vire will know where they are? You could go see him sometime later... Wonder if he's here...” Blake suggested, then glanced around. Where Kanna and Rica where, Ethan did tend to be close behind.

Hotel

“Okay Willow, you go get ready to head out, I need to get ready as well,” Edda said, ushering his daughter back to her own room, Edda then heading back to his room, pulling out an ordinary bag, which held some armor that was much too large to be able to fit in it.

He started to dress into the armor, which had a bit of a red sheen to it, a gift from a friend long ago...

Inn

“I have a carriage you can all take with me, we can head to Caitlin and Rue's, but...” Mele said, looking at the group, “Maybe you should change out of those pajamas? I mean, I'm sure Rue appreciates the view Liam, but you could probably use a shirt.”

Liam found himself blushing again, but nodded, grabbing his bag and heading behind some cover, quickly changing into some traveling gear.

-Ylisse-

Diarmund breathed a little easier as Merlin did some healing, moving forward to Lancelot's other side and aiding Artoria.

“I am well enough to help with this, at least,” Diarmund said, straining slightly, but keeping up with them and helping get Lancelot to the horses.

-Hoshido-

Shirasagi Castle: Guest Chambers

“Yah... Nohr had been getting better...” Celeste said, remembering when she was a lot younger, “But then... something happened.”

She paused, realizing she was close to revealing she was actually from Nohr, coughed slightly. “At least that's what I've heard from mages from Nohr I've met elsewhere.”

-Galdwin-

Castle

Gallic sighed softly as Rin got closer, “I don't know... But I had to try, to extend Aurelia's hand in cooperation, if not friendship. I'm tired Rin... I don't want to do this forever. I've been fighting my entire life, one way or another... I'll keep doing it as long as I have to, though...”

He headed to the door, opening it up and waving down a passing guard.

“Send a message to King Richard, we need to leave,” Gallic said, “Some pressing business has come up.”

The messenger paused, then nodded, hurrying off.

"Oh"

This time Joyce tried not to sound too relieved, the girl taking Sage's arm with a grin. "It's probably for the best, I know none of them would be good enough for you!" she said, now scouting the room. "The girl I see you with is smart and pretty, ehhhh nothing like most of these ladies."They all look too stuffy. Rich people usually are. You need someone more down to Earth!"

[...]

As predicted Samara frowned at Blake's hug. Her sole job was to protect him and yet he was so friendly with people who could very well end him! It made no sense to the girl.

Of course Samara didn't really understand relationships, even those of family members. Every person was a stranger to her. Every person a threat.

[...]

“We have time. Just relax, this'll all work out. Worst case scenario I kill everybody and we go home.”

"Tempting. Very tempting" Kanna noted, taking a sip of her drink as she continued to look around. When she didn't see the kids yet again she sighed, looking back to Rica. "Well while we're waiting do you want to dance?"

Hotel

"Okay okay but hurry up!" Willow stated excitedly, being sure to take the sweets with her as she was led to the door.

Once alone Chloe moved to change as well, looking over her shoulder at Edda as he put on his armor. "Do you really think that's going to be necessary?" she asked in all seriousness, rather than the usual sarcasm that came. "I mean how bad can some bandits be?"

Pretty bad if they're Jade.

Inn

Once again Rue's face went beet red, the girl now moving her eyes down in order to keep them wandering back to Liam. Okay. Maybe her crush was more obvious than intended....Mele seemed to know. Caitlin probably did too- though she would probably kill them both if Rue ever acted on it.

When Liam returned she decided to try and avoid eye contact all together, lest the embarrassment and stress of the day get the better of her.

This would be a long coach ride.

Sage blushed a little harder as Joyce took his arm, glancing down at her and trying hard to concentrate.

“Ya-yah... I think a girl like that would be someone I'd like...” Sage said, still looking at Joyce.

Hotel

“I don't have your or Willow's super strength, I gotta take every advantage I got,” Edda said, smirking as he finished getting into the armor. It seemed like it should be heavy, but it was oddly thin with an odd sheen, and was rather light.

It had been forged from the scales of a dragon named Sol, given to Edda willingly, long ago.

“Besides, I'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it,” Edda added.

Inn

Mele looked between Rue and Liam, then towards Caitlin and Graham.

“Why don't you two go get changed somewhere too, and I'll go make sure the coach is ready,” Mele suggested, intending to leave Rue and Liam alone for a couple minutes if possible.

The Crazy One

[Nohr]

[Dali]

The ground shook and the sound of the explosion echoed. Vivi and Garnet could both feel the sudden, intense surge of magical energy. Garnet gasped and looked around, while Vivi shook... he seemed terribly afraid.

“What... is it...?” Vivi shivered, cowering behind Garnet.

Naughty little child, how did you run away? Naughty little child, won't you come and play?

A gruff voice sang out, and as another explosion sounded, the ground down the street suddenly burst open! Flames shot up and licked the sky, and a hunched-over creature flew out on feathery blue wings. It held a bell in one hand, and wore tattered red robes and a long steeple hat – and like Vivi, its face was merely a mass of shapeless blackness with two piercing eyes.

The creature landed just in front of them and it looked to Garnet and Vivi, and it was impossible to tell which of them it was truly watching.

Naughty little child, why do you run away? Naughty little child, it's more fun to play!

[Manor]

Laila squirmed a bit when Blake hugged her. Her parents weren't exactly the hugging type – (except for one another, and even then, that was less hugging and more... Laila shuddered, not wanting to think about THAT).

She sighed, awkwardly hugged Blake, and then stepped away. She thought about it and frowned. She would like to see her siblings... but looking for Ethan would meant seeing her parents, and that usually got... weird.

“I'll see if I can find Ethan, I guess, but... maybe I can find him alone, and not with mom.”

[…]

Rica almost instinctively moved beside Kanna and slipped his arm around her waist.

“I'd love to dance, darling. Just like old times.” Rica smirked.

[Inn]

Caitlin groaned once again and shot a dark look at Mele. She wasn't quite against the idea of her sister and Liam and the painfully obvious crush they had on one another, but she still felt like she needed to oppose it in some way. Maybe it was lingering from when they were younger and she'd thought about Liam, or maybe it was just that she'd now experienced dating and boys and wasn't sure how well Rue would do with... things.

“We just need to get home. I'm sure mom is doing something dumb and super worried about us by now.”

[Ylisse]

Soon Arturia and Diarmund managed to get Lancelot on one of the horses. She tied him to it, and then jumped aboard herself, and turned to look at Diarmund.

“We must hurry back. I shall take Lancelot, can you ride, or shall the wizard help you?”

Merlin frowned. He wasn't much of a rider to begin with.

[Hoshido]

[Shirsagi Castle: Guest Chambers]

Musashi didn't seem to take any suspicion at Celeste's words. He just leaned back against the wall and frowned. “All I know is things are bad now... I don't want to get involved in some crazy war.”

He hated the idea. He loved to fight, but a war was something different. Too much pain and death, and his position meant too much responsibility. He sometimes wondered if his sister had the right idea to just leave this life behind... but he couldn't bring himself to.

[Galdwin]

[Castle]

Rin nodded, and she looked thoughtful. “I know you have to try. It's what I admire about you, Don. Even after everything you've been through you still have enough courage to try to take the high road.”

She smiled softly, but it quickly faded. “... but there is no true friendship between Galdwin and Aurelia. So long as they believe our magic is an affront to their God, they will always view us with wariness. Maybe we can cooperate in the face of the March. Maybe we can cooperate for economic means, or out of necessity... Richard seems an honest man. Perhaps we could even be allies for the rest of our days.”

She frowned. “... but eventually, either they will have a monarch who is far more zealous and seeks to 'burn the witches', or perhaps one of our descendants will decide to remove them as a threat. Either way... peace is a fleeting thing while power remains in the hands of those who would destroy us.”

[…]

Jeanne nodded to the King. “I have done as I was instructed here, but there is more I must do. I wish you well, your majesty. You know what may come to pass, you see the opportunity ahead of you... I pray you make the most of it, and are successful.”

Owen was not quite as jubilant as Richard. He had seen horrors that robbed him of the very concept of joy – and he knew now that those horrors would soon be seen by the masses. He just hoped they would be able to beat back the tide.

“The offer is appreciated, but I must be off. I must confer with the other Elders. I have yet to tell them of this, and I am eager to know if there has been word from Cidolfus.”

In a flash, Zadkiel was wearing his armor, sword at the ready as he stepped towards the monster.

“Foul beast!” Zadkiel yelled, fire bursting around his sword, ready to fight.

Manor

Blake smiled at Lalia, nodding towards her.

“I'm not sure if he's around here...” Blake said, glancing around. He couldn't really see through the crowd. Maybe...

He focused, a few small tendrils of shadows sliding through the crowd, attempting to search the crowd silently.

Inn

“Do you think your mom would be more or less freaked out if you all showed up half dressed?” Mele asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking, turning and waving a finger. “I'll be up front with the coach.”

-Ylisse-

“I can ride. If Merlin needs to investigate here, I can handle a horse,” Diarmund said, determined not to be a burden on his King.

He got on his horse, suppressing a small wince, but managed to keep up.

“Same here...” Celeste sighed. “With all this darkness... one might also think the March is returning too...”

-Galdwin-

“There's... always that chance. But I can't push towards the worst case just in case...” Gallic said, shaking his head. “The Black March is a bigger problem...”

He sighed, glancing around. “Hopefully Nanami and Taichi are okay...”

“Excuse me... sir?”

A guard edged into the room, looking nervous that he was interrupting something, but knew this was important.

He bowed towards King Richard. “I am sorry to interrupt, my King, but King and Queen Gallic have said they need to leave now...”
