[Nohr] [Hidden Passageway] The roaring beam of flames splashed across the skeleton and burned into its translucent bones. The horrible Wraith let out a howl as its body was engulfed in flames and it crashed onto the floor of the cave, writhing and screaming in a terrible way. A second of the Wraiths flew towards Zadkiel, slashing out with its long bony fingers – and Garnet moved quickly and threw up her staff, creating a small transparent shield between the Wraith and Zadkiel – as the ghost touched the shield, it began to crack and rot! [Small Inn] The night passed peacefully, without much in the way of problems. Soon enough the first beams of sunlight came cutting in through the window. In the room shared by the sisters, Caitlin was still snoring away as day broke, with one of her legs hanging off the bed. In the room with the boys, Graham sleep seemed restless. He tossed and turned several times and woke up just before dawn, sitting up and sighing quietly. By the time the sun rose, he had already gotten up and gotten dressed. [Ylisse] Arturia's face fell, and she frowned deeply. It didn't sound like an ordinary threat they were dealing with. “You did well to survive. We'll avenge those we lost.” At the far end of the room, a man had appeared. His hair was as white as snow, as were the long robes he wore. He carried a staff and walked quietly. He looked young, but there was something behind his eyes that hinted at his true age. “Can you identify these creatures?” Arturia asked the Wizard as he approached, her tone already slightly annoyed – as it often was when dealing with him. Merlin the Mage shrugged his shoulders. “I don't know what exactly they are, I'd have to see them myself... but I have the same dreadful feeling as you do. It could be a sign of a coming March.” |

[Small Inn] Rue slept soundly for most of the night, curled up under itchy - but comfortable enough- blankets. It was only until a few hours of before sunrise that the girl became plagued with nightmares, the visions of the bodies of lifeless bandits and the coach driver finally forcing her awake with a start. Rue gasped, bolting from her pillow and looking around the dimly lit room. Once she spotted her sister in the bed beside her she knew she was safe but it still didn't put her totally at ease...Something was off... The girl went over to the window, peering out. That's when she noticed men on horses outside the inn, gathering in a rather troubling fashion. After a moment her eyes widened, the girl bolting out of the room and into the hallway. She then procceded to knock loudly on the door next to them, still clad in her nightdress and bare feet. [City Inn] Several towns away from Liam, Willow was just waking up as well. The teenage girl had been banished to her room the night before for sneaking out and being returned to her parents by the local police. It had only been a few hours but the girl already felt awfully cramp- a feeling she often blamed on her wanderlust inherited by her mother and father. She wasn't meant to be cooped up in some dumb hotel room- and luckily for her she could sense her father was getting stir crazy as well- But this was suposed to be her mother's turn to relax which meant they had to suck it up for three days- before getting back on the road for another adventure. Worst three days ever if you asked Willow. |

-Nohr- Small Inn Liam woke up at dawn, Graham would have seen him doing a few exercises on the floor, a habit he had picked up from his father. He was also currently shirtless. Liam looked up towards Graham when he noticed he was awake, about to say something when the door was knocked on. He got up quickly, walking to the door and opened it, seeing Rue in her nightdress. “...H-hi Rue. What's wrong?” Liam said, looking a little flushed. Apartment Sage paused for a moment, then shook his head. “I never said I don't put his money to better ends. I hate him, but anything I can take from him I can use to counter him.” Sage had a few practical streaks in him. “I can protect myself... And Joyce can protect herself, she's really strong,” Sage added. He was never worried about Joyce getting captured, he had seen her lightning powers in action. Blake smiled brightly, holding her hand still. “I wonder what grandma wants...” City Inn Edda sighed, shaking his head slightly as he stretched, having already gotten up and looking over at his sleeping wife. He dressed lightly, grabbing an odd looking sword and strapping it around his belt, before heading over to his daughter's room, knocking on the door. “Willow sweety are you awake?” Edda asked quietly. He knew both his children were early risers like him, which drove Chloe crazy. Hidden Passageway “I thank your efforts, but do not worry about me, young one,” Zadkiel said as Garnet blocked the attack from the Wraith. “Get back, I will handle this one while Brother Didymus handles the other!” -Ylisse- Diarmund frowned, shaking his head. “The March? I suppose... if it is indeed one of them... what do you need of me, King?” Edited by AGodofIrony, Oct 23 2017, 05:40 PM.

-Nohr- [Small Inn] Rue's knocked stopped abruptly when Liam and Graham's door opened, the girl face to face with a very shirtless Liam. The girl blinked, instantly realizing that even in her hurry she probably should have gotten dressed. "L-Liam" she stuttered, for a moment forgetting why she rushed over....But then she remembered. "T-The bandits, I think they're outside" she said urgently, grabbing his arm and pulling him back into her room, totally forgetting about her sleeping older sister still in bed. She rushed right past the beds and back to the windows, throwing open the curtains to reveal- No one. The barren land around the inn seemed empty, probably undisturbed since they arrived last night. [Apartment] “I never said I don't put his money to better ends. I hate him, but anything I can take from him I can use to counter him.” Kanna raised a brow, but couldn't help but to give a small grin. This young man was smarter than she was giving him credit for. Perhaps a little too virtuous for her likings, but rich. And he seemed to care about Joyce. She would keep that in her back pocket. “I can protect myself... And Joyce can protect herself, she's really strong,” "My granddaughter is in fact quite strong. And i'll take your word about your own strength for now...I'm sure despite your father's shortcomings he taught you to defend yourself." She then looked to the three youths (And Samara....And Rica). "Perhaps this was fate. I was hoping to work with Joyce more, but you all could help" "Work?" Joyce blinked. "Use your powers for more than just parlor tricks" Kanna explained. "Money, power, getting rid of certain annoying fathers" she added looking back to Sage. Though this could have totally applied to getting rid of Galv too if need be... [City Inn] After a few seconds of silence Willow came to the door, her long blonde hair in unruly curls around her face and still clad in her nightgown. "Is my prison sentence over yet?" She greeted hopefully, knowing she had better luck trying it with her dad than her mom. Last night Chloe swore she was disowning them all if they got her kicked out of another town with nice hotels. She was pretty sure the woman was joking....But just in case..... |

[Nohr] [Small Inn] Caitlin had been in a deep, peaceful sleep full of unusual dreams. She was also half-off the bed, with her feet on the floor and a bit of drool on her pillow – but she was happy. That happiness lasted just long enough for her to wake up from the sound of voices and footsteps, and she sat up in bed and rubbed her sleepy eyes. The first thing she saw was Rue, by the window, still in her nightdress. The second thing was Liam, sans shirt. Immediately alarm bells kicked off in her head and she felt awake – and then she remembered that she was only wearing an over-sized shirt to bed. “LIAM WHAT THE HELL GO AWAY!” Caitlin shouted loudly as she threw her pillow at him, and then reached onto the bedside table for anything else she could throw. [Apartment] Rica was silent, as he was often was in these situations, but when Kanna spoke up and opened the prospect of work he raised an eyebrow. He had his own errands, but Kanna was Kanna, and her work... Rica was quite familiar with those sorts of things. He wasn't sure getting the grandkids involved was a great idea, but they seemed capable. [Ylisse] [Camelot] Arturia was silent. If this was a sign of a coming March... on some level she had always suspected it would come during her day. The sword on her waist was proof enough of that. She frowned, and turned to him. “... We'll need to investigate. I'll convene the Knights. We will send a party to see what we can learn from the sight of your battle. If any of these things are still there, they must be destroyed.” She decided. Defending her people was of the utmost importance... Then she paused, and shook her head. “... Lucina will be in charge while I am away.” She looked to Merlin automatically. “I will be going, no arguments. Find Lancelot. The three of us should be able to handle this.” |

Nohr When Garnet shouted her warning, Didymus simply turned on one of the remaining apparitions. He did seem to respond to Garnet, in a way, though. "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling!" he proclaimed, and sword glowing with a golden light and cross brandished, he rushed at it, raising his sword with one hand and bringing it down in a swipe while holding out his cross with the other! |

-Nohr- Small Inn Liam was suddenly tugged along into Rue's room, her talking about bandits being outside. Looking out the window, there was nothing, and Liam turned to try and calm Rue down. Then Caitlin woke up and hit him with a pillow. “Ah! Caitlin! Sorry, Rue brought me here to show me something!” Liam said, not using the best choice of words. Apartment Sage frowned, about to speak up when Blake beat him too it. “...Dad said using your powers to get money or power is wrong,” Blake said, shaking his head. “We're suppose to use them to help people.” Blake did have something of a hero complex. City Inn “For now,” Edda said, smiling at his daughter. “Get dressed, we'll do a run around the city some before it gets busy and your mother wakes up. She won't think anything is weird if she sees me gone when she does wake up, I'll bring her back some breakfast.” -Ylisse- Camelot “Your majesty, I must insist that I accompany you,” Diarmund said. “I could not in good conscience allow you to go without me into this peril.” |

[Nohr] [Small Inn] Caitlin blinked a few times, and then she jumped out of bed and rushed across the room, throwing herself between Liam and Rue. “You don't need to see any of Rue's things! Mine either for that matter! So get out!” Caitlin didn't quite understand what was going on, and just assumed the worst. [Apartment] “Yes that sounds like your father,” Rica frowned a bit. He didn't have quite as low of an opinion of Galv as Kanna did, but he found the man rather naive. “But Blake, it's not wrong if you intend to use that money and power to help people.” Rica explained, smirking slightly. “A man with no money or power may want to help, but often they can't. Whereas the more money and power you have, the more you can do.” [Small Cavern] Didymus' sword slashed true against one of the Wraith, cutting it apart and it's etheral bones fell to the ground, burning and hissing and dissolving away into nothing. The other shrank back and let out a terrible howl, before it slipped into the wall and disappeared. The hallway had suddenly gone quiet – although there was a shuffling sound around them. “We must make haste,” Garnet urged them. “I don't know the extent of the traps in these tunnels.” [Ylisse] [Camelot] Arturia stopped and stared at Diarmund, and she frowned. He was still injured and had barely stumbled his way back to the castle... but she could recognize his valor, and she knew he was the only one who had seen these creatures and survived. “... You are injured, and I can not in good conscience allow one of my Knights to die needlessly.” She shook her head. “Oh that's not a problem.” Merlin interjected as the white-haired man walked over and suddenly slammed the end of his gnarled staff into Diarmund's leg. Arturia looked at the wizard as if he was mad, but when Merlin drew the staff away there was a shimmering golden light clinging to Diarmund's wounds. “By the time we arrive, he should be back to nearly perfect health!” Arturia frowned. “... Merlin, you know how I feel about your particular brand of spellcraft.” The King had known Merlin all her life, and she had seen far too many of his spells go awry to ever feel comfortable with them. The Wizard merely smiled back at her and nodded his head. “It will be fine, trust me.” She sighed. “... Very well, Sir Diarmund. You will accompany us. However, Lancelot will take the lead in battle and you will provide support.” |

[Nohr] [City Inn] Willow gave a nod, quickly shutting the door and getting dressed before reappearing a few moments later. She was now clad in the clothes that she would often explore in, much different than the dresses young ladies her age often were seen wearing. "I'm sorry about last night by the way. I didn't mean to be gone for so long, and I really didn't mean to get picked up by the police..." [Apartment] "Rica is a smart man" Kanna said to Blake with a nod, though knowing the man was probably aware she was up to no good in her quest for power. "Tell me....Who do you think is in charge or Nohr? How about of the entire world. Who are our leaders?" [Small Inn] Rue's eyes stayed on the window, staring out in disbelief. She knew there were people out there- they couldn't have just dissapeared! "I-I- There was- I know there w-was a-" Rue trailed off, turning as Caitlin moved herself between Liam. “You don't need to see any of Rue's things! Mine either for that matter! So get out!” Instantly her face went red. "W-Wait! He wasn't- Augh Caitlin!" She grabbed Liam's arm again, pulling him towards the door and leaving him there for a moment with a sympathetic look. She then closed the door, whipping around to glare at her older sister. "Caitlin I saw something out there, I wan't to show him..." she then grabbed her clothing, pulling on her dress over her head in a rush. "I thought....I thought I saw some of the bandits out there..." [...] Downstairs the Innkeeper sat at her desk, half asleep as several figures came through the doors. The older woman raised a brow, sensing something was strange about these men. There was blood on their sleeves, and their eyes were hidden by the shadows of dark hoods. They said nothing as they approached, which didn't help matters. From behind the men appeared a woman, clad in her own cloak with the hood down. Her long hair was tied up in a massive ponytail and her clothes looked much cleaner than the men who surrounded her. Despite that there was something very troubling about her....After a moment the woman grinned, her pink eyes shooting towards the stairs leading up to the rooms before landing back on the old woman. "I'm looking for a small group of people, I heard they may have made residence in your inn last night." she started, tapping her fingers on the counter in front of her. "A lot of people sleep here. It's an inn afterall" the woman replied. "True, though I have reason to believe these people are a bit unusual. My men told me that one of the woman was a witch, carrying a blade that could kill ten men. Another, a man, also displayed a very interesting show of magic...Enough to kill another ten. I'd like to speak with them" The older woman huffed, looking annoyed but also slowly going for a knife under her counter. "I haven't seen anyone like that in these parts. You a bandit or something? Trying to rob them?" The younger woman, Jade, gave a small laugh, eyes turning to the innkeeper's hand. With a twitch of her own fingers the woman's fingers bent in a wholly unnatural way, causing the old woman to scream in pain. "Me? Oh i'm not a bandit. But my men are" with another twitch the old woman's whole arm twisted, instantly breaking. A second later her neck followed suit. Jade looked back at the men. "Find them. I'd like to meet the demons who killed my men" |

Nohr Didymus had turned to and was brandishing the cross at the other spectre as it melded back into the walls. He continued looking about, seeing, praying, and wary. Many thoughts ran through his mind, but he had to stay focused-they had been granted victory then, but they were still in great danger. He was looking, asking to see with all blessed sight that would be granted, to see the way out, to see the evil around him, and to from whatever he saw gain some intelligence about the way ahead. When Garnet spoke, he still looked forward. "Indeed, we must. But with all care that we can afford, if there are traps about. That said, I don't suppose you know the way?" |

[Nohr] [Small Inn] Once Liam was out of the room, Caitlin very quickly relaxed a bit and then tried to calm down a bit. It was not fun waking up to see a half-naked boy with her equally under-dressed sister. She sighed and quickly grabbed her back, pulling out her traveling slacks and a better-fitting shirt and getting dressed – she also grabbed her dagger and strapped it to her belt. “Rue, there's nobody outside.” Caitlin sighed, unaware of the danger they were now in. “I think... yesterday was just a lot for you to handle. It was probably just a stress dream... you just need to relax, okay?” [Small Passageway] “I've never been allowed in these passageways before,” Garnet frowned, shaking her head. “... but I think I know where we are, and it's not good news. I heard... rumors.” Her frown intensified. “My brother Leo is a very talented mage. He specializes in infusing magic to living things... making magical monsters. It's a grim thing, but... Leo says it is necessary to protect us from Hoshido and... Galdwin.” She didn't like the political atmosphere in Nohr. Ever since her parents had changed, they had viewed their neighbors as enemies. While there was a long, complicated history with both nations, Garnet had always hoped to avoid actual war. “... These must be the tunnels he uses for his experiments... but those phantoms... Leo is no necromancer. Those arts have been forbidden for many years. I don't know what those creatures were, but I fear there's more to this than just Leo's experiments.” |

[Nohr] [Small Inn] Rue frowned as she looked to Caitlin, fastening her own belt on her hip and slipping on her shoes before returning to the window. She looked out once more, biting her lip. Once again, she saw nothing. “Rue, there's nobody outside. I think... yesterday was just a lot for you to handle. It was probably just a stress dream... you just need to relax, okay?” "But....I just thought...." Rue sighed, plopping back down on the bed. "You're probably right....But it just seemed so real-" Suddenly there was a loud bang on the door, Rue jumped up to answer it before Caitlin could possibly try to murder Liam again. Quickly she rushed over, opening the door and expecting to see Liam. Instead there stood a large man on the other side who instantly went for Rue's throat, grabbing her and throwing her across the room. [...] As the men ransacked the rooms looking for the ones who killed their fellow bandits Jade leisurely made her way up the stairs, trying to sense the magic....Something definitely felt otherworldly here, though she couldn't tell if it was a person, a thing or both. "Where are you my deeeears" she said in a singsong voice. |

[Nohr] [Small Inn] When the door suddenly came bursting down and a large man was running inside, Caitlin gasped in shock. She was frozen for a moment until the big guy threw Rue across the room. That snapped her out of it and she narrowed her eyes and drew her dagger, finger pressed down against one of the shining symbols on the handle and causing the dagger to glow with a bright light. “Get the hell away from my sister you freak!” Caitlin slashed the knife and sent a small burst of energy out from the end! Back in the boy's room, Graham had already gotten dressed and ready for the road, but he assumed that Caitlin would sleep in so he was simply relaxing in his chair – when he heard the slamming from down the hall. His blue eye snapped to life and he jumped from his chair and drew his sword, running out into the hallway. “Caitlin! Rue! Liam! Where are you guys?” |

-Nohr- Small Inn Liam was kicked out, looking confused and trying to figure out a few things as he headed back to the room. He heard a loud bang, turning around as Graham soon burst out as well, seeing a man push Rue into her room. Liam ran past Graham, running into their room, grabbing his sword and turning, racing out the door and drawing the blade. Instantly the cold iron went to work, magic fleeing from around Liam, who, like his father, had no magic for it to effect. He paused, working to suppress the effect so it did not extend to Graham. “Whoever that is he better not have hurt Rue!” Liam yelled, racing down behind Graham back to that room. City Inn “It's okay... You have your mother's zest and impulsiveness and my love of exploration,” Edda said, smiling. “Just promise you'll be safer next time, okay? Just because you can punch a guy across the room, doesn't mean you can get yourself into situations where you should, okay?” He smiled and lead Willow down the stairs, heading outside and inhaling the cold morning air. “Always smells wrong in the city to me...” Edda muttered. Kanna's Apartment Blake frowned in thought. It made a certain amount of sense... Blake had some money, Galv was a good smith and that provided, but nothing like what Kanna seemed to have. As for power... “I already have a lot of power though,” Blake said, rather matter of factly. “I don't need more.” In fact he wouldn't say no to draining more of it, even with Samara out full time he still felt a little uncomfortable, like something was trying to burst free inside of him. Tunnels “Hmmm... Loralee has spoken to me about that kind of magic before. Using it to permanently alter something never ends well,” Zadkiel spoke up. “As long as we continue to press forward and have faith, we shall persevere. -Ylisse- Camelot Diarmund winced as Merlin hit him with magic, feeling it begin to heal him. “My King... I will do as you command, but if this foe proves to be our better, I will hold it off so you may return to marshal more forces,” Diarmund said, bowing towards Arturia now. “I owe my men that, at least...” Edited by AGodofIrony, Oct 27 2017, 06:30 PM.

[Nohr] [Small Inn] Rue felt her vision go black for a moment as she was thrown across the room, landing on the ground with a painful thud. She didn't know what had just happened or who caused this sudden pain, all she knew is she needed to get back up- like right now. The girl forced her eyes open, pressed down a wave of dizziness, and spotted her sister blasting their attacker back with a stream of magic from her blade. Rue tried to scramble up but she gave a hiss of pain. Her wrist throbbed along with her head. Despite this she needed to keep trying to get up. “Get the hell away from my sister you freak!" It was now the man's turn to be thrown back, caught off guard by the magic of Caitlin's blade. He recovered quickly though, having heard about the strange magic girl from the bandits that survived the attack....This must have been one of them. The man pulled out a sword, coming at Caitlin's head with dangerous speed! [City Inn] “Just promise you'll be safer next time, okay? Just because you can punch a guy across the room, doesn't mean you can get yourself into situations where you should, okay?” Willow followed her father outside, giving a small shiver as she buttoned up her jacket. "If it makes you feel any better it was just some dumb teenage boy. Mom said she'd kill me if I took on any grown men. Annnnnnd he was shooting rocks at a cat with a slingshot! What kind of freak does that?" “Always smells wrong in the city to me...” "It smells like soot" Willow noticed. "Coal I guess...For the trains....Why does mom like places like this?" [Kanna's Apartment] Kanna moved in front of Blake, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I'm talking about a different kind of power. One where you don't even have to lift a finger in order to be the most powerful person in an entire city. That's the kind of power wise people want." People like her. "But that takes time. Alliances, strategy and smarts. Though having powers, and knowing when and how to use them definitely play into it." |
