[Tokohotsu Shrine]

Musashi groaned and bit down on his bottom lip as he felt the impact from trying to slice an enemy who seemed to be made of stone. Thankfully, he did not have to worry about his sword breaking, for it was no ordinary blade and nearly unbreakable – but the same could not be said for his arm. The entirety of the force of his strike had been rebounded into his arm and it ached; and that was terrifying. Even the chance that a swordsman could have injured his arm in a way to prevent him effectively fighting was a truly unsavory prospect.

If there was one saving grace, it was that his immense speed made it easy to stay away from that monumental hammer, which would have doubtlessly hurt far worse and shattered nearly every bone in his body. Still, Musashi had a dilemma. Had he been more proficient in the Ring of Earth, he might have been able to brute-force his way past even this incredible defense... but it was the ring he had the least affinity for, and he doubted it would help him much.

“Not great,” Musashi frowned.

Tamamo meanwhile was having worse luck. The nodachi wielding revenant was fast and its reach was impressive, and Tamamo had never been one for close combat. She was a powerful spellcaster, but melee was far from her forte and she could easily be overwhelmed. She had to jump and weave, keeping one step ahead of that blade and being unable to counter in any way.

She had more ofuda charms, of course – and other secrets far better – but this enemy had both reach and speed, and it was taking every ounce of her ability to keep from being chopped into bits, leaving her purely on the defensive and unable to prepare a counterattack.

[Nohr]

[Streets]

Caitlin frowned. Traveling at night was dangerous, as she was well-aware. She didn't mind taking the risk herself, but subjecting Rue to it didn't sit right with her. Still, with Liam around, as well as herself and Graham, it should be alright.

“We could hire a coach. It's normally a bad idea to travel at night, but we should be fine with four of us.”

Graham could only sigh. Caitlin was never one to do things the smart way.

[Road - > Capitol]

With precious little time until the Eidolon's ability would expire, Garnet urged the others to hurry – and they soon did. The little road where they had fought the faceless soon vanished behind them, and the four would make it into the Capitol proper by the time there was a flicker of white and they became visible once more.

Garnet looked visibly shaken. She was out of breath and she shook as if very cold – it was the first time, in a long time, that she had called on one of the Eidolons; and it had taken a toll on her. She leaned against the side of a building, trying to catch her breath.

“We... must hurry. I'm sure Camilla will soon fly overhead looking for us...” She warned the others, even as she struggled to speak. “... We must find someplace indoors to hide, at least for now...”

[Galdwin]

[Castle]

“Unfortunately, I fear the time to prepare for the coming March is limited.” Rin frowned, as she leaned back in her chair. “There are already some signs that the season is drawing near.”

[Airship]

“You can touch whatever you'd like,” Taichi grinned to Kyran – only to receive an elbow thrust into his ribs by Nanami, who gave him a glare so cold that even Taichi frowned.

“Don't.” Nanami simply grunted, as she brushed past him.

The airship was large and splendid – the latest and greatest in design.

Streets

Rue had very little experience with traveling, so naturally she trusted her sister. After all, the ride here was quite uneventful, how bad could it be at night?

"Okay, tonight it is!" she said with a smile, slinging her bag over her shoulder. She had been hoping to stick around town and explore for the night but she would gladly trade that for getting to adventure with friends- and going home was the quickest way to that!

The girl led the group to the edge of town where she came in, where several coaches of all sizes sat waiting to be hired. Considering there were four of them they would need a pretty large one to be comfortable. After a moment Rue spotted one, led by what seemed like a pretty strong looking horse. The driver was older, but looked skilled enough. Rue stepped forward.

"Excuse me sir, we would like to hire a coach to take us into the country."

The man eyed her, and then the others, giving a small cough and straightening up. "There are a lot of you. You got enough money for such a big coach kid?"

Rue turned to the others, pulling out her own bag of coins.

Train

“You can stay out too, if you want.”

"I will....For now at least" Samara answered, looking down at her hand. She didn't know how she felt about Kanna....Perhaps because Blake was conflicted as well? She was a tiny bit weary (but not as much so as with Joyce or Blake's mother) but she was also very interested- after all Kanna's powers could make her even stronger....Perhaps she wouldn't hide when the time came to see Blake's grandmother....

Just being around Kanna made Blake stronger. She could tell.

"Why would she ask for Joyce when she clearly perfers you?" Samara asked, now looking at the window and ignoring Joyce's glare of death. "You're more powerful after all...You have the same powers"

"Who are you calling weak?!" Joyce growled, amazed she was about to get into a fight with what should be a figment of her brother's imagination.

Celeste had a brief moment to think to figure out some spell that may help, as Musashi and Tamamo were dealing directly with the last two skeletal enemies.

Ice began to form in the air around the nodachi wielding skeleton warrior, shards of ice forming to attempt to stab into it, along with the cold attempting to slow it down!

Town

“Of course,” Liam said, stepping forward now. “But first what can you tell us of the road. Is it safe to travel at night?”

Capitol

Aiden looked worried, walking over towards Garnet. “If we need to go inside... where though?”

Zadkiel looked around, then pointed down the street. “This way, to that large house.”

He pointed towards a house not too far away, where what looked like a couple magical runes on the door.

Train

“Joyce has our dad's powers,” Blake said. “Those are very strong. We have the shadow powers...”

And the electrical abilities, but Blake didn't actually know that. “Our grandmother doesn't have electrical powers...” At least, that grandmother didn't.

Of course, Kyran had the shadow powers as well, but had never manifested any sort of shadow person. Perhaps being a twin with Elysia stopped that.

-Galdwin-

Airship

Kyran lit up, looking around the airship, though didn't really pay attention to the things you'd normally think to look at, like the interior design, the elegant furniture... Instead she was looking at vents, parts where the new technology behind the airships were still visible.

“Can I see the engine room?” Kyran asked, walking up to Taichi now, “Pleeeeease?”

The nodachi wielder was keeping Tomomo completely contained, swinging the massive blade around with skill that belied the size of the blade, keeping her from activating any ofuda by simply being too close for them to be used, too close to hitting with that massive edge. Any more from Tamamo to actually grab a bespelled ofuda charm would result in wounding, and she was kept in that state constantly, able only to dodge and think about the next dodge to just stay alive. That's when Celeste threw forward a spell and finally broke the swordsman's tempo.

A cold aura settled around the revenant trying to slow it down as spikes appeared in the air, trying to close in from all sides and impale the dead man. However, the revenant noticed the effect and suddenly hopped from from Tamamo, spinning the nodachi around himself in several circular swings, knocking the majority of the ice spikes straight out of the way. As he finished these swings and seemingly began to slow down from the cold, the revenant finished a swing of the blade and set into a low ground stance, blade edge-upward and helt with its handle next to the revenant's shoulder and point facing Tamamo. Suddenly, there was a burst of spiritual ki, a tangible pulse of force that suddenly came from the nodachi wielder, which completely shattered and dispersed the remains of Celeste's magic.

But that ki wasn't the end of it. Celeste had tipped her hand, and that brought attention from the nodachi wielder. The revenant suddenly tipped the edge of the blade lower to the ground, removed one hand from the handle and placed it on the back of the blade edge, and went into a fast full-body spin, using the pressure on the back of the blade to accelerate its initial motion before shifting hand to the handle in mid-spin and another burst of spiritual ki built and released as he spun, the blade lashing out in Celeste's direction. It was too far to hit, it was seemingly an empty effort, Celeste was a good 20 feet from the nodachi wielder... And yet, despite the distance, the ki embedded into the strike extended the range of the cutting attack, allowing the revenant to literally make a massive slash against Celeste from a distance...

As Musashi got himself back under control and observed the hammer-wielding opponent, the other revenant did not stand still either. As Musashi backed up to get the ringing in his arm under control and to observe, the maul-wielding samurai hefted that massive hammer over his shoulder, holding the weapon there with both hands, he hammer's head hanging over his back, crouched, and DASHED. The actual swings of the hammer were slow, but now his charge was deceptively quick, trying to take Musashi off-guard. He was moving quickly, but the following hammer strike would, as expected, be slow, and it was very unlikely to actually hit Musashi. Yet, there was something the dead samurai was planning, and Musashi's instincts were warning him that this wasn't just some random, desperate rush...

Tamamo was grateful to Celeste for the help, but now it seemed that the nodachi wielder had taken its full focus on the sorceress. Tamamo knew this was trouble. Her ofuda just weren't enough to take down these revenants, and that meant she would have to get more aggressive.

She hated to do it. She reveled in presenting herself as a delicate flower, frail and beautiful – but she could not finish a fight like this and still keep up that charade. She focused for a moment and there was a flash from her body, golden light expelling out as what appeared to be large golden shackles fell away from her wrists and ankles.

Suddenly those sensitive to spiritual power would feel Tamamo... differently. She was still giving off an aura like an incredible mage, but her body itself seemed more magical; and that's when she moved.

She was faster than before, and she slashed out at the samurai from behind – and as she did, her fingers became claws that could cut deep even against powerful armor. She quickly followed that up with a powerful kick, her leg practically glowing with light – and as her foot connected with the nodachi-wielder, there was an explosion of flames and magic!

Musashi, meanwhile, was having his own challenges. The hammer-wielder was charging at him with unexpected speed, and Musashi was in no mood to take chances. Still magically-boosted by Celeste's haste, and his ring, he jumped out of the way and tried to keep distance between himself and the hammer. He could tell from the look of this thing that it had something planned.

He couldn't simply brute-force his way through this. The way even his sword bounced so easily away from the revenant meant there was more to its armor than simple steel. It was the Path of Iron – and that meant Musashi would not easily slice his way to victory.

If he had a greater affinity with the Ring of Earth, he could solidify his sword to such a degree that he could shatter even through the iron-skin technique – but that was the Ring he struggled with the most, and he doubted he could make that work.

Another possibility... Musashi didn't quite like his odds, but it was worth a try. He concentrated, and the Ring of Fire flashed from the hilt of his katana. Musashi called on the Ring's greater strength, infusing his internal ki into the blade, making the sword truly an extension of himself.

Suddenly the flames that burnt brightly around the blade sunk back down into the metal and vanished – but the blade itself began to glow. It was a burning red, the metal as bright as it would be were it being forged – but it was not malleable. The blade had heated up to an intense level, so hot that it radiated an aura and Musashi felt sweat streaming down his forehead.

Musashi dashed forward, not relying on the Ring of Wind and instead focusing all of his ki into the Ring of Fire. Celeste's haste spell kept him moving faster than normal, but he was slower than he previous had been. He rushed and slashed multiple times with the sword that glowed red-hot, aiming his slashes for the hammer itself – trying to cut apart its long handle!

Caitlin and Graham followed to the carriage, and Caitlin frowned a bit. It was big enough for them all, but she still had an odd feeling. Traveling at night could be a problem... but they should be fine.

For his part, Graham stood silently, letting Liam and Rue do the talking. His magical blue eye swirled slightly as he examined the carriage, looking for any sign of magic...

[Capitol]

Garnet nodded weakly. She had exerted herself too much. She would follow them wherever they thought best.

[Galdwin]

[Airship]

Taichi nodded to Kyran, smiling at her. “Sure, this way!”

He quickly led her down the hall, through a rather plain looking door and down a set of steps into the massive engine room. It was an enormous room, and in the middle were several large machines. Grease-coated gears twisted along conveyor belts, and steam leaked from a few of the pipes that led to the massive engine.

There were also runes – several magical runes glowing brightly along several of the machines, reinforcing them.

Taichi stopped Kyran from going too far ahead. “Hold on a second, I have to just...” He slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small bit of chalk, and then he stepped in front of Kyran and took her hand. He drew a symbol along the back of her hand, and then let go.

“There. Now the security runes won't blow you up if you touch anything.”

The man looked to Liam as he questioned the safety of the passage by nightfall. He gave a gruff nod, motioning to the coach.

"I've been riding these trails for over thirty years. I won't lie, the roads at night are dangerous, but with an experienced coach you'll be fine. My horse is fast and quiet when he needs to be... So it'll be all four of you then?"

Rue nodded, forever polite "Yes sir"

"Alright, climb in then. It'll be ten a person with food and water from my stash, eight if you brought your own"

[Train]

Samara looked from Joyce to Blake as he tried to clarify. "That doesn't change the fact that you are stronger than she is....And it bother's her"

Joyce was gripping the arm of her seat so hard her knuckles were turning white. "Your shadow doesn't know what she's talking about Blake...."

The was striking at Celeste, who seemed to focus, something occurring around her as her magic swelled.

She dodged slightly, the strike missing her completely as the sorceress tapped into some inner power, clapping her hands together as she focused, taking a little extra time given to her by Tamamo's strange power up and attack.

Lightning shot from her hands now, slashing through the air to strike the nodachi wielder, flashing for it, making sure to aim it so even if it did somehow dodge, it would avoid Tamamo.

Dion sighed as he watched Kyran in action, looking over to Elysia.

"...No wonder why you were looking so 'happy' before. Heh..." Dion then spoke.

Meanwhile, quietly just following along, but starting to get a better grip on the whole situation, was Serafina.

Letting out a sigh of her own, not in reaction to Kyran, but just to now being out of sight of anyone from Galdwin, Serafina began to concentrate on her hands. Magical energy began to form there, cold energy...

Soon enough, in her hands, a giant flower made of ice had formed, and she approached Nanami (as Taichi seemed to be preoccupied)

"Umm... This is a gift for... your hospitality, a-and for you and your people having to d-deal with Kyran, here..." Serafina spoke, once she was by the princess.

Which led to another sigh from Dion, as he looked over.

"Aww come on Sera, we're not some official goverment delegates or something that have to apologize for everything! And it was them who invited us, too!" he then spoke out.

"But... I still want to be respectful..." Serafina replied.

Didymus had been keeping near to Garnet as they advanced, knowing that she was the objective, she was the reason they were there...he was uncertain about this entire thing, but he remained quiet, focused on silent prayer and silent vigilance.

He was unsure about this door with runes, but they DID need to escape one way or another.

"You seem rather sure." he said. "Why here? Or is it just that we need to get off the streets as quickly as possible?"

Richard raised an eyebrow, and Elanor for a moment looked like she was going to speak-when Richard II spoke first.

"Well, I'm glad we can all agree that anniliation the hands of monsters and terrors is an undesirable outcome."

Elanor looked to her son, as if she were shocked, for a moment.

Richard looked to his son with a small smirk-was it approval on his face?

"Heh." he said. "Well said, my boy, well said."

Fighting two opponents at once was always more difficult, even if those two opponents were easy prey. The amount of focus required to split attention and keep track of two extremely skilled opponents was usually quite overwhelming, and it was no wonder the nodachi-wielding revenant lost track of Tamamo. It was not expecting her to shift power and ability so suddenly, it didn't expect her to drop restraints. From the initial impression, the revenant figured her for a miko, then a somewhat skilled onmyoji mage, but then she unleashed some of her restrained ability and all of a sudden she was too much of a threat. But it didn't get a chance to reply in any way as claws sheared through his back armor, and then a follow-up kick blasted into the now unprotected back, forcing the revenant to lurch forward...

Right into the path of Celeste's incoming lightning bolt. The electrical flash tore a fist-sized hole in the revenant's chest and forced it to collapse backwards from the blast shock as crack of lightning produced enough physical force to throw the revenant off of its feet.

But it didn't die. After all, it was already dead. The red aura around it diminished significantly and its movements seemed to slow down, but it was still moving and it quickly rolled to its feet, trying to avoid further incoming attacks and regroup and perhaps recover some strength...

In the meantime, Musashi's battle was going just as in his favor all of a sudden. Still faster than his opponent, Musashi traded out speed for elemental striking power, and now a red-hot blade was cutting repeatedly into the hammer the other revenant was wielding. The Path of Iron was a powerful technique that reinforced everything the revenant funneled ki into, including the weapon, but fire and earth were diametrically opposing elements, and neither had advantage over the other.

And Musashi's rings were far stronger than the opponent's spiritual ki.

Three quick slashes cut into the revenant's hammer before it could even properly react. By the time the dead samurai was moving, three more cuts joined the first three. Finally, the revenant resorted to a move of desperation as its hammer took blow after blow, looking worse for the wear and more fragile with every hit, and the revenant expelled all of its gathered ki in a mighty spherical blast of force, attempting to knock Musashi away.

But that left it vulnerable now. Without all that spiritual focus enforcing the body, there was no Path of Iron to stop Musashi from cutting into the revenant itself, and its defenses were down. The dead samurai was now in a defensive stance, backing away, apparently trying to recollect some of the lost spiritual power and reactivate the Path of Iron...

Having landed the final blow on the final giant skeleton, Hiko had moved away from the battle, and now stood to the side, on the edge of the stairwell leading up to the main shrine entrance, watching with great curiosity as the battle unfolded. He watched carefully as Musashi enabled the power of the fire ring, and his smile became absolutely mischievous for just a moment as he recognized the effects it produced. He watched as Tamamo unleashed hidden strength, and his wily little smile grew in the intensity of its mischief. He confirmed to himself as Celeste, now female, blasted lightning bolts from her fingertips and easily avoided a ki-laden distance strike from a style Hiko hadn't seen for a very long time.

He stood, watched, and smiled gleefully. This was what he lived to see: great heroes and figures in the making, powerful men and women whose legacies would last into the hundreds of years. These three were no ordinary people, each one was in a class of their own. And Hiko reaffirmed the promise to himself to remember every single one of them, to solidify their faces in his memory so if he lived past them, their legacies and stories would never be forgotten.

Now, if only he couldn't feel such malevolence from the depths of the shrine, all would be well. It didn't stop him from smiling, but Hiko knew that this was just the warm-up. The thing awaiting them inside the shrine... Well, if his senses and hunch were correct, these revenant figures were just the warmup...

Tamamo watched with glee as Celeste's blast of lightning tore through the revenant's chest. Had this been a living person, it would surely be a fatal blow – but this was a corrupted corpse, devoid of life and unrestrained by such things. She knew it was still dangerous too – but at least the blow had a chance to disrupt whatever was reanimating the corpse.

She concentrated, reaching out with her senses and trying to find any sign of what it was that had reanimated the corpse. Hoping to be able to cleanse it.

When the hammer-wielder let loose with a burst of ki, Musashi was indeed knocked away. Without the Ring of Wind he would not have normally been fast enough to evade it – but the Haste from Celeste kept him moving just enough to keep from taking the full brunt of the burst.

He watched as the iron reinforcing the revenant vanished, and he knew he had to act fast. He bolted forward, and the burning effect on his blade doubled in intensity. This would be a dangerous move to utilize, but the others were busy dealing with the nodachi-wielder and Musashi did not have to worry about them being in his path.

So he slashed the sword, unleashing a greater effect of the Ring embedded in its hilt and there was a sudden burst of flame, springing from the edge of the blade and flying out in a spiral formation, aimed for the revenant's chest like a great drill of flames!

[Carriage]

Graham frowned when Liam paid the way for everyone, and he instinctively moved his hand down to his coin purse to pay Liam back – but Caitlin spotted him, and elbowed him in the side, shaking her head.

She knew Liam too well. She walked over and leaned close to Liam's ear.

“Soooo you tryin' to show off for Rue?”

Graham just sighed and hopped aboard the carriage.

[Streets]

Garnet was breathing hard, and she tried to stay close to the others. Then her knees shook and she fell forward, reaching out and grabbing Didymus to steady herself.

“Ah, I'm sorry... I'm not used to calling on the Eidolons...”

She frowned. She wouldn't be able to run. At least not for a while.

Nanami paused as she felt a familiar chill. She could sense magic – a magic not too dissimilar to her own. She watched as Serafina walked over and handed her the flower made of ice, and Nanami gently took it and stared at it, with a slight smile on her face.

“There's really no need for formalities. My brother can't stand them and... in truth I'm not such a fan myself.” Nanami explained. “But thank you.”

“Agreed.” Rin smiled at the boy, but there was still that hint of... something in her eyes.

The man eyed the money Liam presented but took it none-the-less, motioning for the four to climb aboard his coach.

"I don't know where a kid like you got that kind of money, but who am I to question getting paid upfront for once?" the man said, pocking the coins and moving to his own spot.

Rue climbed aboard, scooting in to make room for the others. "You really didn't have to pay for us all Liam! That was probably all your money!"

For much of the trip the train car was quiet, the group plunged into an awkward bout of silence, due in part to Samara's creepy presence....

Kyran was grinning madly as she inspected the machines, her shadows swirling around her to let her feel within them and get a better sense of how they were built. They were on an Aurelian airship, it was technically Aurelian soil...

“Okay!” Kyran said, nodding appreciably, producing a book and taking some notes now, her head swimming with ideas.

“Can we go now?” Elysia asked, sighing softly, then glanced over towards Dion. “I need to get changed before my performance...”

“Because I recognize these runes,” Zadkiel said. He paused, then motioned to Aiden. “Daughter dear, you will need to open it.”

Aiden looked puzzled, then nodded as realization dawned in her eyes. She walked forward and opened the door, which swung like it was unlocked at her touch.

“My in-laws have property in a few places in Nohr,” Zadkiel said, “Only one with Fayre blood could open it without penalties. Let's go in.”

Zadkiel motioned for Garnet to follow through after Aiden, who was inside and holding the door open.

Liam glanced towards Caitlin, looking confused.

“Showing off for Rue? No, I just had plenty of funds...” Liam said, shaking his head, then looked over to Rue, smiling now. “And don't worry! My parents made sure I had plenty before going off, my father said I should use it to help people.”

His mother had said not to spend it all on girls and booze but that didn't seem relevant right now.

He did get into the wagon as well, sitting beside Rue.

Blake sighed softly, placing a hand on Samara's shoulder and giving her a gentle squeeze, undisturbed by the silence that followed.

Sage twiddled his thumbs, liking the train ride, but kept glancing over to Joyce every so often.

The nodachi-wielding revenant didn't get a lot of time to recover, but Tamamo's momentary hesitation allowed the dead samurai to give just a moment's worth of focus, using one of the techniques of its particular sword art to focus and maintain some basic spiritual ki. This didn't last long, as the walking corpse suddenly had to defend itself from an incoming barrage of bright, arcane lights.

It immediately focused its remaining ki and made a few fast cuts in the air, the blade actually catching two thirds of the incoming missiles with its edge, actually cutting into the magic of the spells and dissipating them, but several missiles sill made it through, knocking into the revenant, leaving it absolutely vulnerable, with a powerful enemy at its back...

It was a rare thing to witness the sword arts that came from the Five Rings. The flame empowerment, along with Musashi's skill and focus, was an absolutely and overwhelmingly powerful blow that struck the hammer-toting revenant right when it was weakened. The drill-loke blast of flame cut into its torso, disintegrating a large portion of the upper body that attached one of the revenant's arms, leaving the body cratered as though someone took a superheated, oversized cookie frame and used it on a corpse.

The red aura bled out of the revenant in seconds, leaving it standing for just a moment as the thing locked eyes with Musashi. The red bled away, leaving a pair of brown eyes that looked the swordsman right in the eye... And the revenant nodded, its hand coming up in a gesture of respect as it bowed slightly, the look in those eyes grateful and elated. And as it did, the body simply flaked away, falling apart like so much dust and ash, which fell apart to dust, and the dust to nothing...

Now becomes the the past in an instant — and everyone will eventually die! Destiny triumphs over human knowledge and goes mad! That is the way of things! I spit upon this frail, crazed, world! I spit upon the Second Law of Thermodynamics!
~ Desty Nova, Karmatron Theory

Let them Label me! Let them swear and curse at me as I tug humanity like a bucking bull into the darkness of the unknown, revealing its secrets to the sane and driving them MAD! In ages long past, I shall be looked upon as a tyrant and a savior! As a savant and as a fool! My work shall advance humanity long past its time, throw it into the unknown future and force it to grow strong or FALL! Years from now, when I will inevitably be removed, my work shall continue to progress, because these things cannot be denied! Governments will publicly criticize my work, but privately conduct research that advances it! I shall imprint myself into the annals of history, among the stars that shine as brightly as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Dmitri Mendeleev, Nikola Tesla, and countless others! My work will shine as brightly as any star, and I AM ITS CREATOR!!!

Tamamo took the chance to attack. Several ofuda scrolls floated in the air around her hands, spiraling out into the shape of a star around her hands – and a torrent of flames sprouted out from her palms, spinning and aiming for the revenant!

If it connected, they could consume and hopefully destroy the zombie – Tamamo could only hope it would actually connect!

Musashi watched the zombie fall, burned and destroyed, and he noticed the nod and the grateful plea in its eyes. He watched it die, breaking apart into dust and for a moment Musashi merely bowed back. He knew that whoever these warriors had been in life, they had not sought THIS outcome. The dark force that reanimated their bodies and enslaved them to this living hell... Musashi would find a way to destroy it.

Garnet did not question it, only following in after Zadkiel. She was grateful for a place in which to rest, but she did not like this.

“Everything has gone wrong... Cid and Cecil... and my siblings are pursuing us... was I a fool to even think we could do this?”

[Carriage]

“It's fine! If Liam wants to pay, he can pay.” Caitlin immediately tried to shush her sister. Her own traveling funds had dwindled lately. She and Graham often scraped by – not for lack of trying, but the two had a knack for trouble.

Specifically Caitlin did.

“Well I'm just grateful to have a carriage ride.” Graham smiled. “A lot better than walking.”
