I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Aurelia: Many Years Ago- “Be careful here... the terrain can be treacherous, and the bandits are somewhere in this area,” the captain of soldiers said, talking to Gallic as they rode their horses through the rocky canyon, up in the mountains. “Yes... I believe so,” Gallic said, eying the guards. They would undoubtedly be preparing to kill him soon... The hairs on the back of his neck rose, his fighter's senses activating. He spun around, seeing an arrow leave the bowstring, fired right at him. He grabbed it, his telekinetic abilities allowing him to do so, still moving in a fluid motion to the surprised captain who had been unable to draw his sword before the arrow was stabbed into a point his armor didn't protect. Several swords were drawn, and Gallic spurred his horse forward, moving forward and bringing his body low, a few more arrows whizzing past him, one hitting the haunch of his horse. The horse whinnied, Gallic leaping off another arrow hit the horse and frenzied it, rolling as one of the soldiers got near, slashing a sword down at Gallic. The dark haired man continued rolling, barely avoid the sword and forcing himself up. He kept moving, knowing he couldn't handle this many soldiers at once, he needed better terrain. He scrambled up the edge, an arrow stabbing into his left arm now. He grunted with effort, forcing himself to continue climbing, getting to the top. He pulled out the arrow, gritting his teeth as a rip of some cloth tied around the wound next. He heard the soldiers moving, then started up the cliff face again. A cave, where they would have to funnel through... More arrows thudded around him, several of the soldiers having gotten to the first ledge, firing at their target. Gallic breathed heavily, pulling himself up. A cave! It looked deep, from what he could see... That's when the earth shifted, Gallic being flung back. He hit the ground hard, his breath being knocked out of him, a hooded figure appearing from the soldiers. “Please, Gallic... did you think you were the only one with powers our King employed?” the hooded figure laughed. He moved his hands, the earth moving around Gallic again, trapping him in rock. “We can do this fast... or slow. Mmm... slow, yes... after what you did to the poor princess...” The soldiers smirked, the hooded figure moving forward. A large rock erupted from the ground, bringing itself over Gallic. “Let's see... arm? Leg? Ohhh... let's go with a leg!” The rock slammed downwards, Gallic's telekinesis wrenching himself free barely in time, bursting from his rocky prison as he charged the geokinetic. Gallic tackled him, rage in his eyes as he plowed through the surprised soldiers. A dagger was stabbed into Gallic's side, but he pulled it out, much to the surprise of the hooded mage, bringing it up and cutting his throat. He spun around as three arrows thudded into his chest, staggering backwards and dropping the dagger. Gallic remained standing, one soldier hesitating, then coming forward with his sword. Blood pulled from Gallic's chest as he ripped out and arrow, grabbing the sword swing with his hand, grunting against the effort, bringing the bloody arrow into the soldier's throat. He took the sword from the dying soldier, roaring defiance as he slashed through three more soldiers with a berserker rage. He spun, stopping three more arrows that were shot at him with his telekinesis, a fourth going through his leg and staggering him. Gallic wavered, and despite their numerical superiority, the soldiers hesitated, remembering the last man who had gone forward to try and finish Gallic off. “You won't... kill me...” Gallic spat. He forced himself up, roaring as he charged, slashing through one soldier, then lept. He put his telekinesis into the leap, ignoring the thud of two more arrows in his back as he staggered into the cave, smearing blood against the wall as he forced himself to continue moving, looking for anything that might give him an advantage, shaking fingers dropping his sword. Gallic soon heard the sound of pursuit, wavering on his feet. Why did it seem warmer? “Who are you, mortal? Why do you disturb my rest?” Gallic froze, feeling heat wash through his body, falling to his knees. Despite the heat, he felt... calmer... “I... am Gallic...” Gallic answered, looking around, trying to find the source of the voice. “Gallic? You are injured. Near death. Do you fear death?” the voice inquired. “I...” Gallic began, hesitated. Something told him it would be best to remain truthful. “...Yes. I have... someone special to me. And a child on the way...” It was silent for a moment, the sound of armor stomping on the ground, getting nearer now. Fire seemed to burn around Gallic, and he couldn't be sure, if it was the image of his mind, of a bird, spreading it's wings. “I sense conflict in you, one named Gallic. But your spirit... you seek... righteousness. The ability to fight on... Very well, human. I will grant you the last of my power...” Gallic felt a surge of heat burn through him, his body healing from his wounds, feeling a sense of something greater flowing through him. Something clicked in front of him, and he saw a large, taloned foot, staring upwards as he saw a large bird, burning away into ash now, leaving behind a single feather, and one large talon. He gasped, information flowing into his mind, fire burning through him... One more gift... “There he is!” a soldier yelled, spotting Gallic, too late to see the phoenix. Gallic grabbed the talon and feather, picking it up as he felt something surge through him. He stood up, slashing, fire erupting from his hand and the talon, burning through the first soldier that came at him. He glared at the other soldiers, then stepped forward, fire burning around him now... -Hoshido- Tokohotsu Shrine As the giant axe came at Celest, the sorcerer blurred, along with multiple copies. The axe destroyed one of the copies, Celest moving backwards and throwing his hands up. A torrent of water erupted from their hands, trying to knock away the large skeleton and the reforming one! -Nohr- Road Zadkiel paused as the Faceless seemed to stop, looking towards Garnet, who had rendered them invisible. “An impressive spell,” Zadkiel said, moving forward and helping his daughter up. “And good advice, let us go!” Hospital Liam smiled, looking up and seeing Rue run up to him. “Not quite. I was here because I was actually on my way to speak to you and your parents,” Liam said. Train “Sage is a friend!” Blake said, shaking his head. “His father may not have been nice...” Sage sighed slightly, nodding his head. “My father was terrible. I admit that. But I'm better then him.” Not that Ryan set the bar high there. -Galdwin- Castle Gallic simply nodded slightly, turning back to his meal as well. Galdwin would be the toughest nut to crack... but he knew with the March coming... If all went well, Aurelia would end up on top, leading the nations into a better age. At least, that was his plan. Streets “I'm sure it's fine!” Elysia said, munching the food and smiling at Dion, then frowning again towards Taichi. “Yah, come on Ser!” Kyran said, grinning and clapping her hand on Serafina's shoulders. “I'm sure the prince here is just like any other guy! Has someone to put their pants on one leg at a time!” |

[Nohr: Hospital] “Not quite. I was here because I was actually on my way to speak to you and your parents,” "Speak to us?...What about?" Rue asked as the group headed out of the hospital and back into the busy streets. [Nohr:Train] Samara continued to stare at Sage intensely, the woman's red eyes narrowed. "You are your father's son. I can sense it" she said evenly earning another harsh glare from Joyce. "Now that's enough!" Joyce stated, her hand clenching. The young woman was half tempted to blast the creature with her spark. "Sage is nothing but a gentleman, a better person than most people will ever be. You don't even know him-" "I don't have to know him. His aura his bad. His blood is bad too" Joyce growled, standing up from her seat. She wondered if it would hurt Blake if she punched this girl in the face. |

[Nohr] [Streets] Caitlin was far quieter than before, her hands in her pockets and her eyes staying away from Graham. For his part, Graham just chuckled and shook his head. He had a good idea what happened in the hallway, but now wasn't the time to bring that up. Instead he just followed behind the others with a bit of a smile on his face. “Wait... us and our parents?” Caitlin raised an eyebrow at Liam. “Why do you wanna talk to them?” [Road] “It won't last long! I-I haven't practiced much with my Eidolons, so I don't know how long this will last!” Garnet yelled out to Zadkiel. The Eidolons were a mysterious and powerful force, one that Garnet could control... to some extent. Her parents had wanted her to master her summoning, but she was not as skilled as they wanted her to be. [Galdwin] [Streets] “Oh I put my own pants on.” Taichi shuddered. “Always thought it was a bit creepy to have someone help dress you.” Nanami just sighed. “Now come along! Let's go see the airship!” Taichi smiled at the others. |

[Hoshido] [Tokohotsu Shrine] As Tamamo took a second to reorient herself and shake clear the sudden impact of the cannonball, the skeleton wasn't wasting any time and was reloading the hand-cannon with a cackle. That's when the woman raised a hand with another ofuda charm, throwing it forward, but it was suddenly taken straight out of the air by an incoming arrow! The last two skeletons of the group remained at a rather large distance and did not move in with the rest of their compatriots, instead drawing bows and taking aim. The arrow from the first took Tamamo's charm out of the air and the second was aimed at Musashi, trying to slow down the swordman. In the meantime, Hiko was dealing with the last spear-man, ducking and dodging away from his strikes, back-bouncing and weaving from side to side as he evaded the thrusts made by his skeletal enemy. He was about to go in for another duck into the skeleton's attack range after it swept past him with a spear to try and tag it with more blows of that wooden blade, but he ended up rather unfortunately too close to the cannon-user, which suddenly switched targets away from Tamamo, turned slightly and fired another hand-cannon ball at Hiko from the side. The evading swordsman once more shunted built spiritual energy into his legs the moment he heard the cannon shot and dashed sideways... But wasn't quite quick enough to get out of the way as the cannonball clipped his left shoulder hard enough to spin him around with a rather resounding crack of shattering bone. And the spear-skeleton exploited the sudden opening as Hiko spun about and had to fall to one knee to retain his balance and not fall, jumping into the air and coming into a downward angular strike that was aimed right at the kneeling swordsman's lowered center of mass... The reforming skeleton that was attacking Celest was scattered easily by the torrent of water, and with its reformation broken, but the larger one completely ignored the torrent of water, just barely moved by the force of the attack. It stood almost 3 feet taller than Celest at height and its mass was rather impressive. Its attack pattern was interrupted as it tried to stay within range, but it wasn't able to swing its axe around to strike Celest again due to the torrent of high pressure liquid. But it soldiered on through the torrent, waiting to strike when the spell ended, readying a nasty underhanded axe swing... Musashi's incredible agility paid off as he ran along the haft of the spear of the last of the speak-wielding skeletons, lashing out against its head and taking its skull right off its shoulders. This was too much damage for it to sustain itself, and this one too fell apart and didn't try to recollect itself. But just as Musashi landed and would start to assess the situation, another figure burst into his melee range, trying to squash him with a blow of a hammer whose wide head looked like it weighed a couple hundred pounds by itself. One of the two glowing figures, the one with a large number of arrows sticking out of him and wielding a giant hammer, was now trying to tear into Musashi! Tamamo wasn't forgotten completely either. An archer was still taking aim at her with another arrow, and she could see behind the cannon-wielding skeleton that the second of those red figures was coming fast, nodachi raised high... |

-Nohr- Hospital Liam nodded. “Yah. Well, Rue, specifically. I... was hoping, well... you always talked about wanting to go on adventures Rue. I'm going on one around the nations here. I was hoping maybe you could come with me!” He grinned towards Rue. “And if Caitlin and Graham want to come along, the more the merrier! Part of this journey is my dad said I should make more connections with others.” Train Blake frowned, shaking his head and turning to Samara. “Please Samara... I've known Sage all my life, he's always been nice to us,” Blake said to the shadow girl. Road Zadkiel nodded, looking towards Didymus. “We need to hurry, the horses have scattered,” Zadkiel said. “If we can get far enough away, I believe I can hide us.” -Galdwin- Streets Kyran laughed, nodding towards Taichi. “Well that's good! Couldn't really trust a ruler who can't dress themselves! But yah, I really wanna see this airship!” -Hoshido- Tokohotsu Shrine Celest frowned as the giant skeleton moved towards them, ready to attack once the water ended. “...Damnit...” Celest muttered. He focused, water exploding around him now. Some of it froze and shot forward to the skeleton to keep him covered, though there was a splash around him. Darting from the space now was an annoyed looking, red haired woman, waving her hands as she focused another spell. Dealing with these things in single groups was not working... Celeste moved quicker, appearing by Musashi now, lightly touching his back, the samurai feeling an increase of speed. “Explain later, we need to work together!” Celeste said quickly. [Hoshido] [Tokohotsu Shrine] “Whoa!” Musashi gasped as a massive hammer came down and nearly beat him apart. He jumped to the side only just barely, being thrown back by the shock wave of the hammer impaling the ground. He stared at the massive zombiewith the massive hammer and he frowned, flexing the sword in his hand. “You're a nasty one, huh?” Musashi frowned. He knew he had to be careful. A single blow from that hammer would tear his armor apart and his bones too. He focused in on the ring on his finger and felt a surge through his body as he moved faster than before, jumping into the air higher than he could have without it – he spun, arcing himself downwards and flying towards the zombie, trying to bury his sword into its head! Tamamo was in danger too. Arrows were flying her way and those archers had enough skill to take down her ofuda in mid-air. As one of the arrows came dangerously close to her face, she decided to retaliate in the only way she could – by throwing several ofuda charms at once! She tossed them from her sleeves, throwing as many as she could – some burst into flames, others sparked with lightning, and a few froze solid and became hunks of ice! [Nohr] [Hospital] Caitlin narrowed her eyes. Maybe it was mostly because she knew all too well what could happen when people adventured together – but Liam wanting to drag Rue off on an adventure immediately made her 'older sister' senses tingle. Still... “I'm game, but if you take Rue away without talking to our parents first, my dad will beat you til you're almost dead and then heal you back and then do that a bunch times more.” Caitlin pointed out. [Galdwin] [Streets - > Airship] Taichi smiled and led the others down the road, laughing happily along the way. Soon enough the group would come to a large field, where a massive airship was docked in the middle. A bevy of soldiers were standing around it, all of them clearly armed and armored. Nanami groaned quietly as they approached. The guardsman in charge took a step forward as he spotted this group – until he noticed they were being led by Taichi. “Hiya! We're going up onto the airship.” Taichi smiled at the guard. “... That would be unwise, m'lord. We were expressly forbidden from allowing locals onto the ship...” The guardsman explained, with a frown. “The Queen was very specific-” Taichi's jovial smile suddenly faded. He motioned towards Nanami. “Okay, but you'll have to tell that to HER!” The guardsman frowned, and then took a step back. “I... err... your word is law, Princess...” Nanami sighed. She hadn't said a single word. Taichi just smiled and waved everyone past the guards. [Aurelia: Many Years Ago] Rin sat alone, in her room, staring out the window. It had been quite some time since Gallic and the King's royal guards had gone out to 'fight bandits'... and none of them had returned. By now, they should have been back, or sent word via familiar. Yet neither had happened. Her father was in a foul mood, but Rin's sour attitude was far worse. “... If that fool let himself die...” Edited by GoldenSama, Aug 1 2017, 09:58 PM.

[Hoshido] [Tokohotsu Shrine] As Musashi squared off against his new opponent, sped up by Celest's magic and deciding on an a high attack, the swordsman jumped into the air and spun, putting the most momentum he could into his blade to try and cut into the hammer-wielding animated corpse... But unfortunately, his opponent as a lot more skilled than an animated corpse would usually be. Against lower-skilled opponents, the aerial approach and attacking from above served as a good increase of attack potential. But when you were in the air, you lost a lot of your ability to actually dodge strikes. And when Musashi came down on the samurai, what greeted him was not the satisfying feeling of his sword meeting his opponent, but an upward-striking butt of the massive axe's handle. The dead samurai made a quick side-step as Musashi came down, putting himself just beyond the reach of the incoming sword, and used the flow of the side-step to bring up the butt of the hammer handle upwards in a nasty, quick jab that was aimed right for the falling Musashi's sternum. And after completeing the jab, the Samurai did not just stand still, but moved further into his step, taking the hammer's weight with him and continuing the momentum of the head of the hammer that followed the haft strike, turning it into a sudden up-swing of the hammer head. As Celest moved quickly away, the large skeleton dogged his step, and as Celest cast a spell on Musashi, the giant skeleton's axe almost came close enough to Musashi to actually be of some concern. But it wasn't focusing on the swordsman, and kept dogging the quickened now-woman that was casting spells. One of the skeletal archers also took a shot at Celeste, trying to strike the woman while she was distracted by moving away from the giant skeleton that followed her path. But that was all that the skeleton was able to achieve as Tamamo threw out a wide arc of ofuda charms embedded with spells, and set off almost a dozen of different effects off at once. The multi-hued blast of mixed elemental magic took the two skeletal archers completely by storm, and tore them apart like so much wet tissue paper. The arc of elemental effects also managed to catch the skeleton that was trying to impale Hiko with its spear, destroying it as well and throwing it aside. ... But through the wall of multi-colored lights, another figure sped through like a bolt of red light, seriously quick and trying to impale Tamamo with a blade that was almost 4 and a half feel long, aimed in a fast lunge that aimed to skewer the spellcasting woman... |

[Nohr] [Streets] “Yah. Well, Rue, specifically. I... was hoping, well... you always talked about wanting to go on adventures Rue. I'm going on one around the nations here. I was hoping maybe you could come with me!” Rue's eyes widened as Liam asked her to travel with him. For years she had been hearing about his travels around the world, eagerly awaiting his return to their sleepy little town in the countryside in order to hear about his latest adventure and longing to see some of the places he spoke of. If she traveled with him now....Well she could see everything she ever dreamed of! All the mountains Liam told her about when she was seven, and the desert he trekked through when she was nine. The waterfalls he swam in when they were fourteen and she first actively thought about the boy without a shirt on- OH GOODNESS. Her conversation about Caitlin and her- whatever Graham was (she would need to clarify that properly later) was still fresh in her mind. She tried to suppress the redness that was surely making residence on her freckled cheeks and not pass out. Instead, she gave a tiny (slightly ridged) nod. "I-I would love to!" she exclaimed, perhaps a bit too eagerly. And if Caitlin and Graham want to come along, the more the merrier! Part of this journey is my dad said I should make more connections with others.” Rue deflated a bit at this, but suposed convincing her parents would be easier if Caitlin was there to watch for her. She was still a few years from being a proper adult after all and would need some protection- especially if her mother had any say in it. “I'm game, but if you take Rue away without talking to our parents first, my dad will beat you til you're almost dead and then heal you back and then do that a bunch times more.” "CAAAAITLIN Dad would never do that- I think....Though we should still check with them...You know, in case he does." [Train] When Blake himself vouched for Sage Samara dropped her guard- a bit. "If that's what you wish to think. Then I will too" she said softly, eyes off Sage for the moment. Joyce took this as a deescalation of the situation, and moved to sit down herself. She couldn't help but wonder though if this meant deep down Blake didn't trust Sage...Of course he had no reason not to- Sage had been her friend since before he was even born. He had always been a good friend - to both of them. But if Blake trusted him and Samara didn't....Geez. It was too confusing to think about. |

[Hoshido] [Tokohotsu Shrine] It was true that while in the air, it was difficult – if not outright impossible – to dodge against enemy strikes. Musashi had learned that lesson the hard way in the past, but had also developed a remedy for that in the form of his ring. As he saw the dead samurai evade his blade he focused in on the ring around his finger and there was a great gust of wind that launched Musashi away from the samurai, keeping him from being smashed by the hammer... … and instead smashing into the ground. Musashi groaned as he hit the ground harder than he intended, but he quickly scrambled back to his feet and redoubled his hold on his sword. “Okay, you've actually got some brains in that rotten head of yours!” He paused, thinking about when Celeste had touched his back, and the sensation flowing through him. It was very similar to one of the ways he could use the Ring of the Wind. He felt lighter on his feet and faster in his movements... “Alright! Take two!” Musashi declared, and he charged at the dead samurai – but then used the wind to propel himself even faster, rushing past the hulking zombie and slashing out at its leg! [Nohr] [Streets] Caitlin watched her sister's face and realized that she too was blushing. She wondered if that was because Rue was overthinking the situation between Cait and Graham (Caitlin was quickly realizing the vague way she had discussed it might lead her sister to assume far more than she should) or if it was at he prospect of her running around with Liam... Caitlin frowned. While she had been running around with a boy for the past year without telling anyone, she was also the... complicated kid. She was the one who caused trouble and who kept Connor and Sarai up at night worrying. Rue was supposed to be the innocent, sweet kid who stayed out of trouble. The idea of Rue running around with Liam... Caitlin wasn't sure how to feel about that. When they were kids she had been jealous of the way Liam got along better with Rue. That was long-since a buried issue, but she worried that Liam would corrupt her baby sister! “... Graham and I would love to join you, Liam.” Caitlin smiled. “We would?” Graham raised the brow over his normal eye. Caitlin elbowed him and he sighed. “I guess we would.” |

-Hoshido- Tokohotsu Shrine Musashi was dealing with the axe wielding undead, while an arrow pierced through one of Celeste's extra images, destroying it and leaving her with two more. Celeste held her hands up, focusing on a old, tried and true spell, dumping more mana into it to increase it's power. Shooting from her hands, orbs of glowing energy sought out targets, splitting as they aimed for the undead still in the fray, the missiles made of magic zooming towards them! -Galdwin- Airship “Don't worry, we're not locals!” Kyran added, smiling as she stepped past the guards, following after Taichi, humming softly. Elysia sighed and followed her sister. “We can't be here long, I have to get ready for the performance soon...” “Don't worry! I just want a quick look!” Kyran said, “So where's the engines, Taichi?” -Nohr- Streets Liam looked a little confused, looking between Caitlin and Rue, getting the sense he was missing something... “Of course I wish to clear it with your parents first! That was my intention, remember? I was coming to see them as well, I didn't expect to meet either of you here!” Liam said, smiling. “Did you want to set out today or camp for the night here?” Train Blake smiled, reaching towards Samara and taking her hand, squeezing it softly. “Thank you, Samara. I appreciate that.” Sage glanced towards the two, not really sure what was up with Blake and Samara. Usually children outgrew their imaginary friends... but then imaginary friends didn't tend to be as real as Samara seemed to be... -Aurelia: Many Years Ago- “My lady!” A servant of Rin's appeared, rushing into the room, freezing for a moment then bowing low. “S-sorry my lady, but you wished to be informed... Gallic, he's returned! He's at the castle gates! He... he fought his way there, single handedly, if the reports are to be believed...” Outside the castle gates, the guards looked nervous, seeing Gallic just standing there. Behind Gallic, several fires were burning where a few companies of the King's soldiers had attempted to stand up to fire that burned in Gallic. “Would any of you face me now?” Gallic demanded. “Your king tried to have me killed, but I came back stronger! If he is not willing to face me, here and now, then he is not fit to be king!” |

I'll bite your legs off!

Nohr: Road It took Didymus a moment to realize they had been rendered invisible. He paused, uncertain about this new development, but there was, it seemed, no sense pursuing the issue further for the moment. Didymus blinked as Carbuncle's ability took effect, and Garnet sounded out her apology. Zadkiel was helping Aiden up, and Garnet seemed alright on her feet, as the faceless monsters seemed rather confused... "Yes, let's move!" Didymus said, looking about-it would be harder for Cecil and Cid to find them this way, perhaps, but he had to focus on the task at hand-get Garnet to safety. He could pray for and even, should they fall-mourn for them later. He thought for a moment. This wouldn't last long, he thought, so if they really were going to use it...well, the barren terrain dictated they made the obvious move-push forward into the city. It seemed less than tactically ideal to him, making the precise move that the enemy would anticipate, but...it was still their best option, considering the alternatives. He dodged (a rarity for him) around the remaining faceless and began to head down the road, looking to see if Garnet was alright (Zadkiel was tending to his daughter after all) and remaining close by her, quietly, matching her pace best he could as they moved. Galdwin [Capitol] As the conversation died down, Richard looked over to Gallic, and noticed how he regarded his meal. Perhaps it was just him, perhaps it wasn't, but he got the impression that Gallic had regarded HIM in a similar manner... ...he remained quiet as he continued to eat. |

Galdwin: Streets -> Airship "...okay," Serafina let up, before raising from her bow. She then followed the others as they made their way to the airship, handing over the food she had carried back for Kyran as they walked. Along the way, Dion started eating some of what he got for himself, as they went, though Serafina did not, simply following everyone quietly, though slightly red in her face. As the group made it to the airship, Dion commented in agreement with Kyran. "Yep, we're from Elgaia! Very much not local! And we won't touch anything!" Though after a few moments pause, he spoke again. "...well hopefully also Kyran won't..." he said, much more quietly now. |

[Nohr: Streets] “Of course I wish to clear it with your parents first! That was my intention, remember? I was coming to see them as well, I didn't expect to meet either of you here!” Liam said, smiling. “Did you want to set out today or camp for the night here?” Rue had been told by her parents to stay the night in town, as traveling home by coach at night was quite dangerous. Bandits would roam looking for foolish people traveling by darkness and overtake a coach without anyone else knowing what happened. While Rue took her parents' warning very seriously, she supposed that Caitlin and Graham must have traveled at night sometimes....And surely Liam, being the adventurer he was, did. "I suppose we could start back now...If we did we'd make it home by tommorow morning probably" she said, pulling out the money her parents gave her. "We could probably hire a coach to speed things up too" [Nohr: Train] “Thank you, Samara. I appreciate that.” Samara gave a small sigh but nodded to Blake. Even if she didn't agree with him she had to trust him, it was just part of her nature. Speaking of which..... "Why are we going to see your grandmother?" she asked. "She's just as bad as- uh....She's not good...." "She's just complicated" Joyce said, looking out as the landscape flew by with the speed of the train. "She could probably teach you more about your powers Blake...And her" |

-Galdwin- Castle Gallic was quiet for a moment, focused on his meal, and glancing towards Rin. “We can agree on a few major things, such as stopping the March, of course,” Gallic finally added. Airship Kyran munched her food, eyes wide as they got unto the airship, barely able to contain her glee. “I wanna touch everything,” Kyran said. -Nohr- Streets “That's a possibility, but it can be dangerous at night...” Liam said, “It would be safer to set out in the morning, but if you wanted to leave now, I can hire that coach.” His parents had made sure he had some money before he left, and he did earn a good chunk earlier in a fight he had. Train “Grandmother wanted to see Joyce, so I thought we could go as well and see her,” Blake said. He was aware his grandmother wasn't the best person around, but Blake was extremely optimistic. He reached forward and smiled at Samara, holding her hand. “You can stay out too, if you want.” |

[Hoshido] [Tokohotsu Shrine] The battle had decisively turned in the favor of the living. The majority of the skeletons went down to the combined skill of spells and abilities quickly produced by the magic user, the priestess and the two skilled swordsmen. Only one giant skeleton remained alongside the two dead samurai revenants, and it took the full brunt of Celest's spell-missile salvo, blasted backward and into pieces by the vast majority of the missiles that struck it. A fraction of a second later, Hiko (who had previously been saved from being impaled by a skeleton's spear by Tamamo's salvo) appeared almost out of thin air, capitalizing on the downed state of the skeletal form and quickly performing a downward stab that impaled the form's skull and stilled its motions entirely. Now, only the two revenants remained. And they were each a very special kind of snowflake. Both have served loyally under the previous emperor of Hoshido, and both rose in the ranks very quickly due to personal skills, discipline and honourable conduct. Tadakatsu Iroso, the hammer wielder, used to be a magnificent warrior and has taken many a battle with monsters in stride, able to come out of encounters with barely a scratch. A practitioner of the Way of Iron, he was one of the empire's toughest fighters and could suffer immense amounts of physical punishment ever since childhood due to powerful, stocky and heavy build. Called Koyama Iroso, the "Iroso the Little Mountain", he had led two separate campaigns against bandit uprisings in Hoshido and had in both been the man to break enemy lines and morale due to sheer physical and spiritual presence. The other was a man named Jinkatsu Haku, and was one of Iroso's best friends in life. He was a quiet man, a samurai of great skill and even greater personal code, always the first to be the one to offer aid to any who wished it. His style of swordsmanship was learned from a secretive school and he remained quite tight-lipped about his actual capabilities, but his light armor and enormous nodachi called the Kyozetsuken were an absolute terror on the battlefield. Like his companion and friend, he also bore a powerful spiritual presence, but rarely used it. It was a great rumor that his spiritual might was even greater than even the masters of the blade that served directly under the emperor, but that has never been proven in any battle, and his flitting form always spoke of ease and almost lazy confidence when fighting. These two samurai fell to the corruption of the shrine, but their spirits remained, locked within the dead forms animated by malice and hatred that has corrupted the shrine, and now they were the last line of defense of the shrine. Musashi was fast. Incredibly fast, now that he had been utilizing the power of the wind element and was aided by Celest's magic. But his opponent was not any sort of slouch at all. Iroso was a practitioner of the Way of Iron in life, a martial discipline that focused the spirit into resilience and endurance, and in death that spirit remained, forced to aid the actions of the revenant figure. As Musashi approached from the side like a moving blur, there was no chance that Iroso could easily tag him with a hammer strike... But the blow Musashi delivered did nothing at all except make Musashi's sword vibrate dangerously and his arms ache. Striking the man was like striking a wall of pure iron, and at the speed and momentum Musashi built up, only Musashi's own training and the quality of his blade prevented him from losing his grip on the blade or the weapon from simply breaking on impact. The revenant swung around with his hammer in a wide sweep, but by then Musashi was most likely once more out of reach... Tamamo, however, was faced with the revenant of the nodachi-wielder, and this opponent was far more troubling in this instance. With long reach and surprising agility available, Tamamo was faced with several wide and fast strikes from a blade almost as long as she was tall, threatening to lacerate with every swing, damage with every movement... |
