Citadel - On the other side of a phone line "...but is it ever the best time?" the voice on the other end of Nanami's communicator spoke out. "You asked me to call, so I have! Though you could have just called me when you landed... But if now's not a good time, just tell me where to meet you and then we can discuss the ship over tea or something." The voice paused for a moment, expecting a complaint to be registered before he continued. "And also, Rosetta's actually heading over to the docks now to check out who was the roadkill this week, and see just how sturdy the main hull still is, or if we should start with something new. Just so you know!" |

[The Citadel] [Civilian Dock Warehouse] The moment Nanami's caller rang, the vorcha and the krogan spun around towards her, all pointing their guns at her suddenly. The batarian gave a loud whistle in response and the vorcha quickly got back to what they were doing before. The krogan, however, didn't lower his weapon and growled. "You best silence that little ringer of yours if you want to stay alive next time. I haven't fired at anything in the last three days and my finger's getting antsy. Unless you have a death wish, don't give me a reason to spread your brains all over the floor." The batarian raised a hand in a placating gesture in return. "Easy, Morr. We all have beepers." "Hers is loud." "And so are ours when it's quiet. Watch out for any wooden crates, and make sure NOT to destroy them, Morr. We don't want this place blowing sky-high." The krogan zoned in on Nanami with his single good eye for a few seconds, snorted, and moved away. Observing all of this from a vantage point, C was getting a bit uncomfortable himself Several times, the vorcha got close and were almost within distance to pick up on him by hearing. He was just lucky they did not have any varren with them, or he'd have been outed in seconds by smell. But that woman... She was one of the bounty hunters after him, he was now sure of it. By his guess, she was their spotter, and the mercs followed in when she found him and tipped them off. So it might not have been the damn rat after all, it was probably just a horribly bad stroke of luck to find the one human bounty hunter that recognized him and got her allies to zone him. And now, he was surrounded by hostile aliens with only one way out of the warehouse. That's when he spotted a small back door. He had no idea where it was leading, but... If he could actually slip out... Slowly, he started to move, using the crates, shelves, boxes and all sorts of cargo as blockers to line of sight, ghosting across the ground as quietly as he could. Never had he been more thankful for his stealth training than he was now. If he could get to that door unnoticed, then MAYBE he could hack it remotely, dash the few feet of open ground between the tall shelving and the door and get the hell out of there... |

[The Citadel] [Civilian Dock Warehouse] With a infuriated Krogan now aiming a very large laser rifle directly at her face and several antsy Vorcha giving her sideways glances, Nanami was less than enthused to take the call. She didn't break eye contact from the Krogan as she listened to Marco. “Now is not a good time.” Nanami grimaced. Then her eyes widened slightly as she heard the news that Rosetta was on her way to the nearby docks. That could turn into a disaster if she wandered over this way and spotted Nanami. “Keep Rosetta at the office. I'll call later.” Nanami hung up and stowed her phone away, after silencing it. She ignored the Krogan and his threats, though she knew she was now in an even worse situation. And then she felt it. Nanami's blood ran as cold as ice as that strange sixth sense trigged inside her and she felt a presence. Her head snapped in the direction of the nearby warehouse before she could help herself. […] The door at the end of the hall was C's golden ticket to escape. All he had to do was make it through the other side and he could slip away and leave the bounty hunters behind, escaping from this madness and buying himself at least a bit longer without the fear of a laser-blast through the base of his skull. Yet as C drew closer to the door that bid him the promise of escape he would suddenly hear a strange sound. A loud whirling noise unlike anything the hacker could have ever heard before. Then just before his eyes, a new obstetrical appeared that completely cut off his path towards the door. Instead he was suddenly face-to-face with another door. Blue and wooden with a sign above it that read in large letters POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX. In an instant this new door was thrown open, revealing a man standing in front of C. A peculiar man wearing a blue suit and a brown trenchcoat, and holding a bucket of popcorn in his arm. He tossed a couple of kernels into his mouth and grinned. “Hullo! Well, then, shall we get started?” |

-The Citadel- Flux “We're NOT Imperials,” Jimi said with a low growl, clearly looking annoyed at being assumed to be as such. “It's...” He glanced towards Hammah and the two had a wordless argument that siblings seemed to have now and then, Jimi sighing and turning back towards Musashi and Chloe. “...Our dad. He went missing a couple months ago. We tracked him to the Citadel here, but we haven't found him...” Jimi sighed. Alliance Military Base Galv had been looking at the screen, so wasn't immediately aware of where his head had landed. Somewhere soft... Then his brain jolted himself, both literally and figuratively as a spark of electricity flew down his body, the boy scrambling and only managing to thud into the cockpit even further, now staring up at Melanie. “...Oh no...” Galv said softly, looking terrified now. As Shepard headed to her ship, a familiar face in blue armor was lounging against the air lock, looking almost bored until he spotted Shepard. “Well Shepard, there you are, I was starting to think you went and found some adventure on your own,” Garrus said, the turian standing up straight now. Docks Edda led Kagura and Solei to the docks, moving to his ship. It was larger then someone might think for a single person, and definitely looked built for speed. “This is my ship, Cold Iron,” Edda said, grinning as he headed to the air lock, pausing as he glanced back to the two. “So how do you wanna do this?” -Omega- Docks Lily frowned. “Stormtroopers can be pretty tough. We'll have to be careful...” She glanced around, trying to think. “I could distract them, and maybe you could sneak into the ship and have a look around?” Lily suggested. |

Citadel - Telephone The phone was hung up quickly, not even letting Marco get a word in response. "...it isn't like she was going to try to break into the ship again... I already told her that I wouldn't stop Nanami this time, if she tried that again when surveying that ship..." Marco mumbled to himself, before actually thinking about what just happened... which led him to quickly ring up someone else. "...Rosetta? ----- Yeah, I think Nanami's gotten herself into something. She told me to send you back and said she'd call back later. ---- YES I KNOW that's fishy. And I know that even if I order you back, you're going there anyway now. Just be extra careful don't get her into any extra trouble ---- " After Rosetta's response back to him, and then her laughing filling up the earpiece, Marco just sighed, before he spoke again in an annoyed voice, "...yeah don't get yourself into extra trouble eitherrrrr... I'm going down to check up down there myself, too, just in case. ---- Yeah, see ya." Marco then finally hung up his phone, and then pulled out one of the briefcases he had in the workshop he had been in, opening it up and sticking on the glove that was inside. With that, he took a different briefcase, put on his hat, and left. Citadel - Dock Solei had followed Kagura and Edda back to Edda's ship, which he called "Cold Iron". Upon hearing that, Solei suddenly looked a little more interested, attempting to walk up to the ship to touch it. Her eyes again glowed purple slightly, as she did, and she seemed to slowly nod, before she pulled her hand away and stepped back away. "Your ship is composed of surprisingly less iron than its title implies..." |

[The Citadel] -Flux- Kay leaned back on her chair and put her arm over the back-rest of it. "This place is pretty big. We could use all the help we can get." [Omega] -Streets- Thanks to his armor's air-filtration system, Lavo wasn't choked by the smoke. Still, he couldn't see what had happened fast enough to react. Their targets were gone; at least for now. They couldn't have left this hellhole of an asteroid in such short time. "Lavo!" Windsong called. She had been able to get up from the floor and walk to her brother. She would run, but her lower back was bruised from the fall she took earlier. "Are you okay?" she asked. "Me?!" he replied. "Windy, your wing..." Windsong turned to look at her injured wing. Structurally it was okay, but there was a large tear in the membrane. If the tears weren't caused by energy spears, they'd be dripping blood. It didn't hurt, but until her wing was fixed and healed she was grounded. She shook her head. "It's fine. Let's go, we have to catch them." "No," Lavo said, putting his hands at her shoulders. "You need to get that fixed." Windsong frowned and pulled back from Lavo's grip. "I can fight on the ground. I'm not going back unless we complete the mission," she stated. "They couldn't have gotten far." The orange draiken walked around her brother. She stomped forward, now extra determined to catch the stupid hedgehog and his dumb robot friend, no matter how evasive they were. Lavo shook his head. He holstered his gun and turned to follow his sister. |

[The Citadel] [Flux] Musashi went very quiet when Jimi explained the situation. It immediately struck a cord deep inside the spiky-haired boy and he sighed, leaning forward on his elbows. Memories flooded his mind. A tiny spaceport, his parents discussing things his young brain couldn't begin to understand – and then they went off with his “uncle”, and he never saw them again. “... Okay.” Musashi agreed, much quieter and more subdued than before. “We'll need to know everything, and we'll need the most recent picture you have of him. Any idea why he came to the Citadel? Any contacts he has here? Anything at all?” [Alliance Military Base] “Just another job.” Shepard sighed as she spotted the familiar Turian. Garrus was a loyal friend and one of the best soldiers she had under her command. He also had an investigative background that could be invaluable in the current mission. “Someone hacked a bunch of old Alliance files and stole some highly sensitive information from the Human Delegation. We have to recover it, quietly.” Shepard explained. “Reason to believe the Empire might be looking for it too.” [Docks] “What have you got?” Kagura asked, keeping a watchful eye on him. The last thing she wanted to do was let him escape. [Omega] [Docks] Haruka already had a pistol in her hand, about to tell Lily that all they needed to do was blast them – when she remembered that attracting heat to Omega was a bad idea. She sighed, and holstered her pistol. “... Fine we'll do it your way... just be careful. Those Bucketheads can be more dangerous than they look.” |

-Citadel- Docks Edda glanced at Solei with a puzzled expression, then over towards Kagura. “Some armor, weapons, a few things we haven't been able to figure out yet,” Edda answered, “So I'd be careful. I don't go back on my word, though.” Flux “We have no idea,” Hammah answered, sighing as he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. “We're from a colony in the middle of nowhere, and Dad never talked much about his past. As for a picture...” He pulled out a data pad, typing a few commands and displaying a picture for them of a tall, pale man with dark brown hair, wearing black with a white coat over it. “The only reason we know he came here is because the only ship that left our colony makes runs here,” Jimi added, looking frustrated. Alliance Military Base “Oh is that all? I thought it might be something difficult,” Garrus said dryly as he followed Shepard now. “I could reach out to some of my C-Sec contacts, but just how sensitive is this?” -Omega- Streets Shadow and Omega appeared elsewhere on Omega, Shadow breathing heavily, worn out from the extended use of his Chaos abilities, and long distance teleporting. “You did not have to do that, Comrade Shadow,” Omega said, sitting down so he could attend to a couple repairs of his own. “Yes I did... We couldn't go all out there... or even here. And you were getting damaged. We'll grab the supplies we need and head as soon as we can...” Shadow said in response. Docks “Oh, don't worry, I can handle myself,” Lily smiled, then walked off down the docks. She made her way to the Stormtroopers, who paused when they saw Lily, then started to relax as they looked her over. Lily was keeping their attention for Haruka... |

The Citadel - Docks "You mentioned 'we'?" Solei questioned, upon hearing what Edda had to say, "There is more than one person in your operation?" She also was interested in seeing what the mysterious things that Edda had stolen could have been, but she did not want to sound 'over-eager'. It was fascinating to see what technology was like, nowadays, though, even if Solei herself was never that great with technology even from her own time. But she was like the mediator for this negotiation process, or at least she thought of herself that way, so she did not wish to act out of her own interests, at least right now. |

[The Citadel] [Civilian Dock Warehouse] C was well on his way to getting out of there. In fact, his progress was amazing as he managed to sneak behind a rather preoccupied vorcha, passing the alien figure without incident and making it to the 'final stretch', a single shelf that ran the entire wall of the warehouse, split in the middle by an opening towards the back door. He was making his way toward it when a strange wheezing sound filled the air and something began to materialize in front of the exit door, slowly taking shape into a blue box. And the sound... Attracted everyone else. C's heart dropped to his heels as he watched in sheer dread when the box finally solidified. This was pretty much the end. The sound would attract everyone, he had nowhere to go, and his exit, the only way he could use to get out of here was now blocked. It took every single ounce of his willpower not to collapse to his knees right there. And he was right. The moment that box opened and a man stepped out, he figured this was another one of the group's allies, blocking off his exit way. He raised his hands into the air, looking absolutely defeated and dead-tired as the krogan came barreling around the shelving, followed by two vorcha. When the sounds started up, the batarian and his allies focused in on the source and watched a box pop out of nowhere. Quickly the alien motioned for his allies to move with a shrill whistle, and the vorcha went for it. The krogan, just waiting for something to do, was already on the move, barreled into that passageway between the stacking shelf and the wall and brought up his shotgun. "You're not running anywhere anymore, you little rat! Oi, Zax! Got our rat and some other random! Want me to make sure he's not gonna run and get rid of the random?" |

[The Citadel] [Civilian Dock Warehouse] An enormous, angry Krogan with a heavy shotgun. Two Vorcha with itchy trigger fingers. The hacker who looked resigned to his fate – and a peculiar man in a trench coat who was munching a handful of popcorn. It was an odd sight, even by the loft standards of the Citadel. “... Right, here we go!” The peculiar man still had one hand clutching the bucket of popcorn, but the other was down at his side and held firmly in his fingers was a long silver device with a blue light at the end. He casually let his finger slide over a button and a second later all hell broke loose. The Krogan – and anyone else on his same comm frequency – would suddenly have their world's turned upside down as every single transmission on the Citadel was rerouted into their personal comms; with the volume maxed out. There were 13.2 million sentient lifeforms aboard the Citadel – and every radio wave, every television broadcast, every comm transmission, every personal message, email, song, video game sound effect and any other digital noise being transmitted was now played, all at once, in the ears of the Krogan. In that same instant, the peculiar man tossed away his popcorn, grabbed C by the shoulder and pulled him hard as he fell backwards into the open doorway. The door slammed shut behind them (presumably as the Vorcha fired wildly). After pushing C away from him, the man jumped back to his feet. “Well that got exciting! You're not hurt, are you?” [Docks] Kagura thought she might have found the weirdest people on the Citadel – unaware of some of what was happening elsewhere – but she was a little amused by that. “Let's take a look at that armor! I could go for something new... mine's a bit old and basic.” [Flux] Musashi studied the picture and frowned. The hair color was right, and he had always remembered him as pale – but this definitely was a different person. He sighed, knowing he shouldn't have even considered the idea that this mysterious force-user could be the man from his past, but his hopes got up every time. “Weird...” Musashi admitted. “Well, the Citadel is a pretty huge place – and you can catch a ship to almost anywhere in Alliance space. If your dad came here he could be almost anywhere in the known galaxy by now...” He rubbed his neck. “... Hmm... of course, C-Sec has a lot of cameras and keeps a record of everyone who comes and goes... all we really gotta do is get a look at their records...” Easier said than done. [Alliance Military Base] “Extremely sensitive.” Shepard grimaced, looking more serious than usual. She was never one to take things lightly, but this had a new level of grim in her expression. “I don't know all the details myself, but... whatever it is this guy stole, it's huge, Garrus.” Shepard was now far quieter. “And if the Empire beats us to finding this guy...” [Omega] [Docks] Haruka grimaced at the idea of leaving Lily alone with the Stormtroopers, but she knew they had a job to do, and she trusted that Lily could handle them. Moving silently, Haruka crept towards the ship and flattened herself against the side of it. She cast a glance over to make sure all eyes were on Lily and then she hurried up the platform into the ship as quickly and quietly as she could! |

[The Citadel] [Civilian Dock Warehouse] The mercenaries were certainly not ready for The Doctor or what he had in store for them. And while the Vorcha did not have any tech for communication, the krogan and the two batarians certainly did. And the sudden noise in their ears was enough to suddenly get the two batarians to clutch at their heads. The krogan, however, responded entirely differently. The moment there was loud noise in his ear, he roared in sheer fury and squeezed the trigger. A MASSIVE shotgun blast rang through the warehouse, and as The Doctor was pulling C through the doorway, Ca caught the end of a rain of flachettes, taking four nails in his side and two in the thigh just before he was pulled through the door. And the krogan continued to fire, charging toward the box as its door closed, slamming his entire mass against the doorway and then repeating the slam several times. The noise in his ear just continued to trigger his rage, and the massive mercenary's eye went entirely bloodshot with fury as he continued to pound away at the door of the blue box, trying his damn hardest to get in. The Doctor said before that the combined horse of Genghis Khan couldn't get through that door. Well, the krogan was knocking harder than the entire horde at this moment. And unfortunately, the hacker didn't escape unscratched, collapsing on his side and clutching at several holes made in the right side of his torso. "Oh ****, this hurts!" Outside, the batarians were disabled for a good few seconds before they could actually get their earpieces out... The vorcha, however, joined the krogan in trying to break down the blue box door,. while the other two vorcha were coming in from the opposite side of the shelving, trying to flank whatever was there... [The Citadel] [TARDIS] The Doctor's grin faded when he saw that C had been hit. He frowned deeply and rushed back to his side, quickly passing the Sonic Screwdriver in his hand over him and scanning his body. Thankfully, none of the damage looked life-threatening, but that didn't make it any less painful. “Sorry! Had hoped the Krogan would be too dazed to shoot.” He slipped the sonic back in the pocket of his trenchcoat and then moved in closer to examine the wounds. Frowning, he quickly jumped back to his feet and ran across the length of the odd room, opening several drawers and containers, digging about and tossing an odd assortments of objects around in his wake. A snow-globe, a strange device, a small, strange orb and several other things rained on the ground behind him as he dug – until finally he gave a loud 'Ah-ha!' and rushed back over to C's side. “Here we go!” He held out his palm to reveal a small tube of Medi-gel; an all purpose gel used across the galaxy to heal minor injuries by stimulating the body's natural healing at a greatly accelerated rate. He quickly dropped down and squirted the gel over whatever wounds he could see. “Right. So, not really this kind of doctor, but I've been around the bin a few times... just hold still.” Retrieving the Sonic from his pocket, he fiddled with it for a moment and then passed it over the wounds extremely carefully. The flachettes embedded in C's body were, one by one, sucked out and attached to the end of the Sonic. He carefully discarded them and wiped away the blood left behind on the end. “There we go. That should help. Might be sore for a bit, though.” He stood up and then glanced over at the door. [Civilian Dock Warehouse] Nanami watched in shock as the Batarians had nearly doubled over from something. She took the opportunity to rush on ahead, and soon came upon the Krogan and the Vorcha frantically attacking a large wooden blue box. She paused for a moment as she stared at the police box. She stayed silent, and kept a wide berth away from the Krogan. Edited by GoldenSama, Jan 28 2017, 11:17 PM.

[The Citadel] [TARDIS] It took C quite a few long moments to process what exactly happened and that he'd actually been shot. He'd been shot before, but nothing of this scale, never with a heavy weapon. And the amount of blood was enough to make his head spin for a bit as The Doctor quickly worked his magic and removed metal bits from his flesh. That was probably the most disconcerting part of it all, watching numbly as metal nails were pulled out of his side and upper leg. All rather painless, too, since C was quite obviously in a bit of a shock at how quickly events unfolded, and the scale of the events themselves. He winced a few times, but watched in fascination as his skin scabbed over and closed up right in front of his eyes. He knew bio-gel, he'd used it several times before too, but again, nothing of this scale, not on wounds like these, wounds he had taken. So it was understandable that quite some time passed before he realized he was actually ALIVE. "... Hoooooly... That was CLOSE. I don't know who you are, guy, but you're a hell of a guy. I thought I was dead back there. Wait..." That's when things caught up and he looked up at The Doctor, looking confused. "... You're not with them? I thought you blocked me off from the exit on purpose?" --- [Civilian Dock Warehouse] The krogan finally stopped trying to get through the door, seeing absolutely no progress, roared in sheer fury, and ripped his earpiece off and out of its housing in his armor, flinging it away and stomping away from the box. Nanami was in the way, so he tried to brush her to the side like a gnat with his arm, dead set upon confronting his batarian boss. Said batarian was finally recovering from the sudden noise in his ear after killing power to the communicator and followed the vorcha, only to be met with a very angry krogan that without further ado grabbed the batarian by the front of his armor, lifted him up into the air and slammed him against the wall. "What the ****, Zax? What the **** is with that box, who was that?" The batarian growled in response. "Shut it, Morr. I have no idea either, but they're not getting away. That box is still there, so all we have to do is break into the damn thing and kill the newcomer. Then, our target's all ours." Krogans were never a very logical sort. Morr was a typical example of his kind, but he was one step worse: he was more violent than the average. So the batarian suddenly found himself slammed into the wall again, his head reeling. "I don't CARE about your empty promises, Zax! You promised me money!" That's when another gunshot rang out, and there was a splatter of a bullet on the wall where a bullet passed by the krogan's head and hit the wall. The alien growled... But let the batarian down, backing off. Zax coughed a few times, steadying himself against the wall and glaring at Morr. "Next time you try that, krogan, you'll be the dead one. My friend is a good sniper, and your head's a large target. You'll get your money, PROVIDED you provide the service and get the mission done. I don't see our target in your hands, so the mission isn't done yet. Don't go begging for a cut you haven't earned." |
![]() Now becomes the the past in an instant — and everyone will eventually die! Destiny triumphs over human knowledge and goes mad! That is the way of things! I spit upon this frail, crazed, world! I spit upon the Second Law of Thermodynamics! ~ Desty Nova, Karmatron Theory Let them Label me! Let them swear and curse at me as I tug humanity like a bucking bull into the darkness of the unknown, revealing its secrets to the sane and driving them MAD! In ages long past, I shall be looked upon as a tyrant and a savior! As a savant and as a fool! My work shall advance humanity long past its time, throw it into the unknown future and force it to grow strong or FALL! Years from now, when I will inevitably be removed, my work shall continue to progress, because these things cannot be denied! Governments will publicly criticize my work, but privately conduct research that advances it! I shall imprint myself into the annals of history, among the stars that shine as brightly as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Dmitri Mendeleev, Nikola Tesla, and countless others! My work will shine as brightly as any star, and I AM ITS CREATOR!!! ~ Desty Nova, Morality

[Citadel] -Flux- "It's a start," Kay responded. "I don't see why C-Sec wouldn't help," she said, looking toward Jimi. [Omega] -Streets- The two draikens walked side-by-side like before. Lavo was exhausted from the fight, but still had enough energy go to again if he needed to. Windsong was less keen to hang out on Omega as she was before. She was humiliated by Shadow. To have her flight taken away, even temporarily, was an insult. She wanted to settle the score. As they walked, the air between them was silent except for the sound of moving armor. Lavo looked to his sister. "See them anywhere?" The orange draiken shook her head in response. "If I didn't have this helmet on I could probably sniff them out." "Don't take it off, that damn robot might blow your head off from the shadows if you do." "Hah. You always think of the worst possible thing that could happen," Windsong chuckled. "What's the word for it? Paranormal?" "Paranoid," Lavo corrected. "Which I am not." "Right," Windsong said, rolling her eyes. "We should probably split up, we might find them easier." The brother frowned. "We can't face them alone. And with your wing like that..." "I'll be fine," Windsong said. "This place isn't that big. We can meet back up quickly. If I find them I'll let you know." Before Lavo could protest, his sister ran off in a different direction. Instead of following, the green draiken instead shook his head and walked where he was originally headed. |
