[The Citadel]
[Rica's Bar]

The woman in blue paused the moment Alita mentioned the name 'Shadow Broker'. She couldn't quite get a feeling for this stranger. She seemed to be dropping a lot of information very freely, and it smelled suspicious...

Robin wasn't sure. It seemed far too convenient, and yet... she was fairly good at discerning when someone was truly a fool, and when they were just acting the part.

“... I can probably arrange a meeting. Not in such a public place, though... and of course, the Broker's agent will have a lot of questions. From what I hear, they don't just do business with anyone... and it can be very hazardous to your health to not answer those questions.”

She shrugged. “Or so I hear. That something you're willing to risk?”

[TARDIS]

The Doctor looked to C, and he seemed more serious and somber than before.

“You can't afford not to rest. I understand you're afraid. You've been running for a long time, and you have the Empire pursuing you. I'd be more worried if that didn't scare you... but I promise you, you're safe here. Vader himself couldn't get through the doors of my TARDIS.”

He clapped C on the shoulder. “... and while I don't doubt your skills, even the best of us fall apart without some rest. Sleep as long as you need.”

[Lothal]
[Jedi Temple]

Musashi nodded over to Kay, as he paced by the desk.

“... Oh, loads of useful information, I'd guess. The Empire vests a lot of power in their planetary governors... that computer is no doubt full of information on every Imperial operation on Lothal, troop deployment maps, Imperial secret codes... it's a treasure trove for the Alliance, and probably has information on the temple that we need...”

He frowned. “Just one problem... you need an Imperial code canister to activate it. Without the proper codes, if we try to use it... my guess? It sets off a bunch of alarms and we get a few dozen Stormtroopers busting down that door and trying to kill us...”

Alita shrugged nonchalantly as the entire threat warned by the woman in blue seemed to fly into one ear and out the other. He was entirely too unconcerned with the possible dangers, and seemed far more interested in her drink as her tail continued to lazily swing back and forth behind her.

"I just need to pass something to the Shadow Broker from the Professor. Your contact fella won't ask questions when he sees what it is though, if he knows what's good for him. If he asks questions... Well, I have my own orders to follow if that happens. It'll be alright! I just need to pass something along that will FOR SURE reach the Broker's hands is all. And I was told to do so as directly as I could."

She pouted draining her drink and looking at the cup in sheer betrayal, though whether it was for being empty or for something else wasn't quite clear. She looked up at the woman in blue and her frown disappeared, replaced with a disarming, energetic smile.

"So, think you can lead me to the contact? I'd rather not stay on the Citadel longer than I have to, and I'm already running late on the reveal of another project."

-----------------------------------------------

[TARDIS]

C snorted in amusement. Right. As if a rickety wooden door could stand up to one of the strongest Darkside Force users in the entire known Empire. He was actually betting on it holding back the monster just long enough for himself to watch the hope of protection fade as the door was simply destroyed. There was no way in hell this rickety wooden box, bigger as it was on the inside, could stand up against Darth Vader.

But if The Doctor was that sure of it, C would at least give the man the benefit of the doubt.

"... Yeah. Yeah, I need some rest. Thanks. I mean, without you coming by back there and pulling my buns out of the fire, I'd be a dead man now. So... Thanks. Really. Whatever happens, I hope you know that I'm really damn grateful for your help."

A bed indeed looked so inviting. In fact, C didn't even noticed when he made his way over to one, because his eyes were closed before he realized, and then he knew nothing as he simply collapsed in one of the beds, completely drained.

Jimi grinned brightly as he looked at the computer, tapping a device on his wrist.

“Eddie, you here?” Jimi asked. A hologram appeared, Eddie's robotic body appearing to float there.

“Yes I am, Master Jimi!” Eddie said happily, “What can I do for you?”

“Can you hack into this computer?” Jimi asked. Jimi moved over to the computer, pulling out a wire and plugging it into the computer.

There was a brief moment, and Eddie dinged.

“I'm in!” Eddie said.

Jimi grinned, then gave a thumbs up to the others.

“You all do what you need to do. Eddie, find the map for the place and send it to Jimi and Kay, I'll stay here and get some more information, along with keep an eye on things,” Jimi said.

Streets

Garrus grinned, giving Shepard a thumbs up, tapping at his omni-tool.

“There's a back way... Why don't I go around back and hang out there, and you and Kaiden can head in. If they make a break for it out the back, I can stop them,” Garrus suggested as he pulled out a schematic for the restaurant. One good thing about the Empire was their standardization. All types of buildings were built to the same code.

Restaurant

Starkiller was distracted, but he saw them start to move out of the corner of his eye... He couldn't just pull out his light saber, but maybe...

“Excuse me!” he said, moving towards them now, putting on a smile, “Excuse me, sorry... please, a moment of your time?”

Lily glanced over to Sayuri, who seemed to be in some discussion with the local VI Avina about the Citadel, before looking back over to Haruka, caught a little off guard by the question.

“Honestly? No,” Lily said, leaning next to Haruka and looking over the same view. “What else should I be doing? Being some secretary? Doing reports for people or the military?”

She smiled slightly, looking to Haruka now. “Here I get to do something exciting, and do it with someone I care about.”

Afterlife: Private Room

“I see,” Gallic said, looking at them. “Had a change of heart then?”

He smiled slightly, indicating a couple seats, before sitting down himself.

“What brought about this change of mind?” he asked.

The two draiken hesitated to sit as Gallic motioned them to do so. As they sat, they did so in a way that appeared informal. Seats were not usually accustomed to people with thick tails, so draiken had to sit at an awkward, almost side-facing position.

“We had a long conversation,” Windsong started to answer. “We made many split-second decisions up to this point. We decided to do something thought-out for once. We can't reach any goals while running about like panicked children.”

Lavo tried not to grimace in response. Windsong was a pretty good liar, but she had to pick her words very carefully. This man could probably even read subtle things that draiken do when they're uncomfortable. Peeking toward his sister's direction, he noticed that the tip of her tail was restless, but the rest of her was stoic. She certainly knew how to lie to humans, but if a draiken had noticed her tail at all she would possibly be caught out.

Windsong was incredibly nervous, though she attempted not to show it. Knowing that this man was the rumored Gallic, she had more reason to be terrified. Still, she made sure she kept to half-truths, then at least any information she would give wouldn't be totally false.

Kay grinned. She knew Jimi and Hammah's AI was incredibly high-tech, but she didn't expect it to be able to hack into Imperial computers.

She soon received the map That Eddie sent.

“Alright. We should get info quick, before whoever sits in that chair gets off lunch break.”

Afterlife: Private Room

Gallic smiled softly at the draiken, leaning back in his chair as he regarded the two.

“No need to be so nervous. You want a chance to get a star map to find your way home, don't you?” Gallic asked. “And please, don't lie to me. I don't care that that's your goal. I will give you the star map, and even a ship back home, once you help me.”

He waved his hand idly, looking almost... bored. “There is something on Omega I am searching for first, but I could use someone of your two's talents for... let's say a year? Stay working for me that long, and you will get your star map and ship. Of course, by the end of that year, if you've decided you would like to keep working with me, more rewards could be forthcoming.”

While Lavo was visibly jostled, Windsong kept her calm. She had expected this reaction from Gallic, despite her feeling nervous.

“A year?” Lavo broke his silence. “That's...”

Windsong held out an arm toward him to stop him before he could start ranting. She kept her icy eyes on Gallic. “What are you expecting of us to do under you?” she asked. “I see we can't lie to you, so I'll be blunt. We're tired of needlessly killing people. We want to find home so we can find peace. A year is a long time for people our age. Twelve years was a long time.”

“A year is nothing compared to a lifetime the Empire normally demands,” Gallic said, “I feel like that offer is quite generous.”

He sighed slightly, nodding a little. “I never needlessly kill people. I won't ask you to do the same. And to be clear that means it's very likely I will need you to kill someone, but it won't be needlessly. It won't be some defenseless person. It would be soldiers, warriors, those who can and will fight back.”

Gallic stood up now, holding his arms out around the room, “Omega here was once owned by Aria T'Loak. A ruthless asari who killed anyone who got in her way or wasn't useful to her. She encouraged the gangs and the rule of strongest thrive on his forsaken asteroid. With her gone, things will get better. The gangs will be taken care of, order will be restored. I ask you... is that a needless death?”

[Citadel: Rica's Bar]

Robin raised an eyebrow, and then laughed. Alita was an interesting sort. She wasn't quite sure she wanted to get involved... but it did seem like the kind of thing the Broker would be interested in. Besides, this would be a lot more fun than babysitting the bar.

“... Okay, this seems interesting enough I doubt the Broker will reject things. You want the contact? You're looking at her. Let's go talk.”

She stood up and headed towards Rica's office in the back, not bothering to check if Alita was following her.

[Citadel: Streets]

Haruka paused, and then quickly kissed Lily for a moment, before pulling back and leaning against the railing of the walkway. She still looked... unusually down.

“... I've been having weird dreams lately. I keep hearing my mom's voice. It's like... it's like... I'm supposed to do something. I don't believe in fate or destiny or deities or whatever, but... I keep having these same dreams.”

[Lothal: Jedi Temple]

Musashi looked over at the computer, as Eddie sifted for information. Soon enough the AI would find something... odd.

Reports of a giant, mechanical lion being found under ground, beneath the old Jedi Temple – and a report from the Emperor himself ordering it be recovered.

[Lothal: Restaurant]

Connor froze, grasping Sarai's hand. He looked over his shoulder to where Starkiller was, and then bit his lip.

“... Sarai,” He whispered. “I want you to run out of here, okay? I'll buy you time.”

He moved away from Sarai, looking over towards Starkiller. “Yes? Can I help you with something?”

So that's what happened, Lavo thought. The owner of the place was taken out. He shuddered.

Windsong gave Gallic's words some thought. She wasn't at all a fan of working with this guy. Something wasn't quite right with him. However, this was a step closer to home than the draiken siblings ever had been. She would have to do some mental finagling to get this to work in their favor.

“Okay,” she said, breaking the short silence. “We have important things to do before we go anywhere, but these are terms we can work with.”

[Lothal]
-Jedi Temple-

Kay leaned in to see what Musashi was reading. She squinted at the words on the computer screen.

“A lion? What's that doing here?” she asked. “I mean, the giant wolf I can understand, but a big robot lion?”

Alita's tail stiffened for just a moment when the woman in blue revealed that she was a Shadow Broker agent, but it was only a momentary pause before her tail continued swishing from side to side lazily. Alita quickly paid for her drink, making sure to tip the barman, and headed after the woman in blue, looking for all the world like little girl on a trip and a sugar high, humming to herself and looking around curiously as she followed.

As they entered the office room and the door closed behind them, Alita dropped into a chair and shrugged.

"Dunno what you actually want to talk about. I wasn't actually told a lot about what the Professor wants and what his plans are, I'm just delivering something."

She pulled out a small... Cube. It was a small, transparent cube made of crystal with a small chip embedded deep in the center of the transparent material.

"Here. I was told to deliver it with the following message: 'Pandora awaits for the Toxic Skies'. Pass it on. If you're an agent? That's cool, I got things done right. If you're not... Well. I feel very sorry for you if you try to crack that open without the required reader. The Shadow Broker has one the Professor sent him a while back, during the days of the Human Integration mess. Pass that on, and we're good. Lose it? Well, I guess the Professor will never deal with the Shadow Broker again, and spread word of bad business. I'm sure THAT will go over well."

Musashi shrugged as he looked over to Kay, leaning back in the seat and crossing his arms. “I have no idea. This doesn't make any sense... the Empire just has references to some 'giant lion' supposedly hidden on Lothal. From what I know of the planet, they don't have any lions... and this makes it sound more like a weapon.”

He rubbed his chin. “Maybe it's some kind of code? Like... it's actually a weapon or something, but why call it a lion? None of this makes much sense.”

[Citadel: Rica's Bar]

Robin looked over the box for a moment, examining it, and then slipping it into a pouch inside her dress. She wouldn't worry about it right now. Rica would surely have whatever was required to open it, and besides.

She paused, thinking.

“... I'll let the boss know. Really it's above my paygrade what happens.”

Lily felt herself blush some from the kiss, then listened to Haruka's concerns.

“I'm not one for things like that either... but maybe that's just your subconscious. We've been traveling around without any real set goal in mind beyond 'survive to the next day.' Maybe we should change that, build to something?” Lily suggested, taking Haruka's hand quietly now.

-Lothal-

“Could just be a name for it. Isn't there some vehicle the Alliance uses called a Warthog?” Jimi suggested.

“Always thought it looked more like a puma to me,” Hammah said, then shook his head. “But anyways... that's not why we're here. We can pass that info on to the Alliance, but we're here to see if we can find Dad...”

“We leave in, hopefully, a couple days,” Gallic said, “There's still something on this station that I want. I may need you two to help me get it.”

He probably didn't, but it would be a way for him to see how well they worked in the field.

“What would this thing be?” Windsong asked. She didn't want to already jump from one mission to another, but she wanted to get on this guy's good side for the time being. It would be useful later.

“It very well could be a vehicle, or a weapon. Or both,” Kay said, thinking out loud. “I'd like to see it, just to know what it is.”

She then nodded at Hammah. “Right. There's gotta be something here about him. There's gotta be a list of Force users that the Empire has found, or something like that.”

Alita stretched, all of her 5-at-the-moment limbs stretching out like a cat as the woman in blue finalized their exchange.

"Yup. Above mine to, though... Well, I don't get paid, actually. I have no idea what it is that the Professor is planning, but all I know is that he got this gleeful look on his face and started to devour his flan with much greater speed than usual, so it HAS to be something juicy."

She shrugged and stood up with a hop, bent sideways twice to finish her stretch and grinned.

"Thanks! This completes my task here, so thank you for helping out. I know you could have left me in the dark at that bar table, never said anything about your affiliation and I'd just be left drinking in this seedy place for a while with no leads. Thank you for not doing so."

Now though... Now she was let loose. Of course, she needed to get in touch with the Professor, but it was very possible that it would soon be time for the Black Knight of Nova Labs to finally be unveiled. And Alita really didn't want to miss the chance of seeing THAT catastrophe. But that meant she might need to kill some more time at the Citadel...

"Say, does this place have any good arcades to waste some time in?"

“Right.” Musashi nodded, and he clicked through the computer, looking for any information on the Jedi.

“... We don't need that.” Kanan shook his head as he called out from the far end of the room. He approached the others, holding a large crystal shard in his hands. It was stark white, when those potent with the Force looked upon it, they would see a soft shimmer.

“Come here. Both of you.” He called to Jimi and Hammah. “This is a hunk of kyber crystal, the raw stuff. In the old days we'd use this to find potential Jedi... if you touch it and focus, it's possible we can find your father.”

Haruka frowned a bit. She had purposefully avoided having any grand goals... she knew all too well what that could lead to. She closed her eyes, trying to forget the sound of the screams. She tried so hard to forget about her family.

“... Like what, Lils? I'm all for ideas, but...” She frowned. “... When you start trying to do some big, grand stuff, that's when you can lose everything. I don't want to lose anything else. Anyone else...”

[Rica's Bar]

Robin raised an eyebrow, and nodded. “Yeah, there's one up on the eighth floor that's not too ba- oh sh-”

Before she could really finish, there was a sizable explosion that blew the door off its hinges. Several figures in helmets and body armor rolled into the room, unleashing a full volley of fire from rifles. Robin simply vanished from where she stood...
