[Omega] -Mordin's Infirmary- Lavo frowned and looked toward the floor before looking back up at Mordin. “He has something we need, Doctor. I...we have to fight him to get it.” “It's a starmap,” Windsong continued. “We need it to get to our home planet.” She didn't really want to give out that they were now fugitives of the Empire, but at this point something had to be done. There had to be a way home. [Lothal] -City Spaceport- Kay nodded, listening to Edda give the instructions. “We got this,” she confirmed, clenching her fist. She was ready for this. |

[The Citadel] Streets Kanna stepped out on the street, wine bottle in hand as she waited for Ethan. It was a bit chilly, but nothing she couldn't handle considering her powers could keep her warm. Galv's Workshop Melanie followed Galv into his workshop, the girl looking around curiously as he led her through the clutter. Upon further inspeaction she realized it wasn't quite clutter- but rather odds and ends to various mechanical projects that he had been working on. Some pieces she recognized from around her own house, but other pieces were quite foreign. Her eyes eventually fell upon the powered armor, the girl stopping in her tracks. "What's this?" she couldn't help but to asked, placing her hand lightly on the metal. [Lothal] City Spaceport Sarai gave a small nod, still quiet but curiously looking around at the stalls and storefronts. While she had traveled in her life she was never able to explore on her own, usually she had her brothers or father very close in case trouble arose. Suddenly her stomach growled, Sarai's cheeks turning red. It had been almost a few day since eating something and all the excitement had practically drained her. She looked back to Connor and decided to speak up. "Ummm....How about some food?" she asked. “One of you could go with them, and the other with us. Whoever is best at being sneaky would probably be best with them.” Chloe looked to Musashi, a grin on her face despite the seriousness of the situation. "Who do you think is the better spy Musashi?" Speaking as the literal bull in a china shop Chloe probably knew the answer to this. [Flashback] Chloe did as her father asked and went into the other room (which just so happened to be Edda's) but as soon as she closed the door she sat on the other side of it, trying to listen to Edda and Ethan's conversation. “What are your intentions with my daughter?” From her spot Chloe's cheeks went red, the girl knowing her father's protective nature. But she also knew she really liked Edda...Really liked him. “You're a rich kid. You gonna offer her a job?” “I... no. I don't think that would be a good idea,” “And why not? She's a damn good engineer,” “She is. Be lucky to have her. But... I don't think she'd like that. It's one thing for you to help her out with not getting blacklisted, but if I just called my dad and got her working for the company... I don't think she'd like that. I wouldn't like that either, it'd... be something over her head, tainting everything.” Chloe blinked and looked down. While part of her felt like saying this was just another way of keeping himself away from her after tonight, she also knew he was kind of right. She would owe him, she want to make things even again- Suddenly a knock. “I'm heading home for now before heading to the lab. Did you want to come with or.....stay here for now?” Chloe quickly opened the door, her face still a bit red. She was quiet for a moment but then she looked towards Edda. "I want to..Ummm..Stay, just till the morning" she decided. |

[Lothal] [City Spaceport] Connor nodded in agreement. He was drained both physically and emotionally – worries about his sister and what would happen to them on this strange planet were constant, and it had taken a toll on him. “I think that's a great idea.” He looked around the street, his eyes scanning the various signs and plaques on the walls of buildings and he frowned. Much of it was written in alien languages, but there were a few bits he could make out. Eventually as they walked they came upon a small shoppe on the corner. “Maybe this one?” Connor suggested. Musashi raised an eyebrow to Chloe, as if to say 'really?'. He simply shook his head. “... I think I can do sneaky.” He walked over to Kay, Jimi, Hammah and Kanan, as he slipped on his gloves. “So we're doing this stealthy! Works for me!” Kanan wasn't sure how stealthy any of his companions were... but then he had spent the last decade living as a drunken bum, rather than the Jedi Knight he had once tried to be, so he was in no place to judge his new friends. “Right. There may be another way into the temple... there were several escape routes out of the temple built for emergencies. I'm sure the Empire has found most of them, but there was one that no one really used that has a good chance of still being a secret.” Kanan explained. “That sounds almost too good to be true,” Musashi questioned, feeling skeptical. Kanan nodded grimly. “... Well, the reason it was seldom used was because we discovered it was being used as a den for some of the local Loth Wolves... they're usually pretty docile, unless you disturb their den.” “Which... we're going to do.” Musashi pointed out, frowning. “We'll be fiiiiine. Besides, it's been a decade, they might not even still be there.” Kanan shrugged. [The Normandy] Shepard watched the holographic display as Garrus explained the situation. She frowned slightly. Being behind enemy lines was nothing new or unusual for them, but that didn't mean she had to like it. “Lothal, huh? It figures...” Shepard shook her head. “I remember reading some unusual analysis of Lothal a few months ago. Given it's size, the lack of any unique natural resources or major economic importance, it has an unusually high number of Imperial troops stationed. It's definitely important to the Empire, but by all logical standards it shouldn't be...” She shook her head. “Okay. We're going in quiet. The Empire absolutely cannot know we're here. No Alliance symbols on our uniforms and if we get caught we're on our own. Garrus, Kaidan, suit up, we're going.” [The Citadel] [Rica's Bar] The bartender started to speak, but suddenly she was cut off by the exuberant man in a long trenchcoat who came bounding out of the back. “Sammy! Long time no see.” Rica laughed to himself. “Drinks are on the house.” |

-Omega- Mordin's Infirmary Mordin looked to the draiken, cocking his head and thinking. “Why fight? Why go after his strength?” Mordin asked. “Find weakness. Exploit weakness. Stupid otherwise.” Streets “Excuse me, are you Kimi and Sama?” A nondescript looking man walked up to the two, dressed in the latest in Imperial suits, looking calm and almost bored, a briefcase in hand. Glancing around, the two could notice a couple burly looking men standing a little too straight watching them as well... -Lothal- The Cold Iron/Spaceport Edda smiled, glad that Chloe was going with him, even though he did know that was a bit selfish. “Okay it looks like our ride is here, let's go,” Edda said, opening the hatch as a couple vehicles, currently being remote piloted by Sol, came up. “Loth wolves?” Jimi said, then grinned, clapping a hand on Hammah's shoulder. “If we run into some wildlife, Hammah can handle them! Animals love him.” Hammah looked sheepish. Wild animals did seem to like him. Normandy Shuttle Garrus was armored up and ready to go, in the shuttle now. Once everyone was in, Cortez started it up and headed down into the planet... -The Citadel- Streets The valet returned with Ethan's car, Ethan holding the door open for Kanna before he got it into the driver's seat. “Your place or mine?” Ethan asked. His place didn't have any alcohol though. Galv's Workshop “Oh! That's a special personal project of mine,” Galv said, smiling as he walked up to Melanie and the powered armor. “Most armor like this needs an external power supply, and it's the armor's main weakness. But... well...” He paused and let his hand spark slightly. “I can produce a lot of energy myself. So I've been building armor that can use me as a power source, same with it's weapons and such.” Galv looked quite proud of it. Rica's Bar Samuel frowned, rolling his eyes at Rica. He had just gotten back from an annoying mission that had him floating in space to steal some Imperial data for Rica. And Rica knew that alcohol didn't effect Samuel, so he tended to stay away from it. He was tempted to grab an expensive bottle anyways, but remembered why he was here. “I got what you wanted,” Samuel said to Rica, keeping it vague while still in the bar proper. “So how about we head into your office?” -Flashback- “You can stay here longer if you need to,” Edda said, Ethan frowning. “I would offer any of my friends that...” Ethan sighed, then moved forward and gave Chloe one more hug. “If you need anything, call, okay? I'll be at the lab later today, so if you need to see me, I'll leave your name with the guard,” Ethan said, then headed out, leaving Chloe and Edda alone. Edda smiled towards Chloe, looking a little sheepish. “So... how much did you hear?” |

[Omega] -Mordin's Infirmary- “Weakness?” Lavo grunted, crossing his arms. “He's probably one of the most powerful men in the galaxy.” Windsong frowned, rubbing her chin. “Everyone has a weakness,” she told Lavo, “but it would be hard to determine his. He seems to have a very powerful demeanor, even without one knowing he's a Force user.” “Mm. Maybe he's too forgiving? I mean, we had a stand-off with him and he just let us go,” Lavo added. The younger sibling shook her head. “No. He was 'forgiving' because it demonstrated his power over us. He was reminding us that he could get us in trouble, or worse, if he wanted to.” Her tail thumped on the floor while she thought. “We can't sit here and think about what his weakness might be. We need to find it somehow.” She turned to the others. “Unless someone here knows something we don't.” [Lothal] -City Spaceport/The Cold Iron- Kay chuckled, her laugh tinted with nervousness. “These are vicious predators we're talking about,” she commented. “So here's hoping we don't get Hammah hurt.” None of that was helpful. -Galv's Workshop- Melanie's eyes were glued to the armor as Galv explained how it worked. It really was cool, but also a bit complicated. She then turned back to him. "Does it work now? Could you put it on?" -The Cold Iron/Spaceport- “Maybe this one?” Despite being the daughter of a crimelord known around the universe Sarai couldn't recognize any of these languages on her own, so when Connor suggested a spot she gave a nod. "Sounds good to me" she decided, following him into the shop and trying not to stand out in the room. To any other person or alien, the two just looked like two humans perhaps on a date, not running for their lives. [...] Chloe looked back at Musashi and the others before following Edda. "Don't get yourself killed!" she shouted to her best friend. -Flashback- Chloe moved forward and hugged Ethan tightly, giving a small nod. "Thanks dad...I'll be over tommorow." With that Ethan left, and Chloe turned back to Edda who looked uncharacteristically sheepish. “So... how much did you hear?” Chloe couldn't help but to smile. "Pretty much all of it" she said, moving forward kissing him. She then gave a small sigh and looked to the side. "And even though I hate to admit it, you're totally right. Even if you're not planning on sticking around, I wouldn't want anything over us." |

[Omega] [Streets] Kimi stopped, and paused, as she turned towards this man. She didn't think she recognized him at all, but she was never great with faces. She just crossed her arms, and raised an eyebrow. “That's Commander Kimi. Who the hell are you?” She was as tactful and friendly as ever. Sama remained quiet, hands at his side, watching the man. [Lothal] [Streets] “It shouldn't be too much of a problem.” Kanan shrugged his shoulders. “Our real challenge is the Empire, but hopefully things won't be too ba-” Kanan stopped as they turned the corner. In the distance, past the city and sitting on a hill, was an old – but quite majestic building. Tall, proud and commanding – the old Jedi Temple still stood. Kanan felt a wave of unexpected emotions, and he had to take a moment. He could still remember what it had been like, so long ago. He closed his eyes. “... Damn, takes me back.” Kanan sighed. Musashi was quiet, and frowned. [Restaurant] As Connor and Sarai entered, the restaurant seemed fairly empty. There was a middle-aged couple in the corner talking about something, a very large alien sitting at the bar and ranting in its native tongue, and a pair of shorter beings near the back who were having a lively laugh at something. Connor hurried over to one of the tables, trying his best to be relaxed as they sat down. He decided he would worry about their situation later – right now the two needed a meal. One thing at a time, just like they'd drilled into his head back in the military. “Anything sound good?” Connor asked, frowning slightly but doing his best to keep it light. [Normandy Shuttle] As the shuttle slipped in undetected and landed a few miles outside the city, Shepard stood up and prepped her gear. She looked to Garrus and Kaidan and then just nodded. Their usual armor was lacking – instead all three had come in civilian clothes, although Shepard was still packing. “Okay. Remember, as far as anyone knows, we're just tourists.” Shepard shrugged. “Stealth shouldn't be too hard for us.” She glanced at Cortez. “... but keep the ship ready just in case we need a quick pick-up.” [The Citadel] [Rica's Bar] Rica nodded, and then motioned for Samuel to follow him. In the back was his office – opulent but messy. Filled with expensive knickknacks and doodads that Rica mostly had as status symbols – aside from his own private bar, filled with exotic alcohol from around the universe. He walked over and poured himself a glass of something. “It's a shame you don't drink, Sammy. This smurf cost more than most people's houses.” Rica took a swig, and then glanced at him. “... you got the data, I assume? That's good. We'll make quite a bit off that.” |

-Omega- Mordin's Infirmary “Mmm... I would give you location if still had it,” Mordin mentioned. He had been to the planet once before... “But no longer do, sadly.” Shadow frowned, thinking as he leaned against a wall, looking over at the draiken. “Omega and I were busy when you... confronted him last time,” Shadow said. “What exactly happened?” Streets “Of course. I apologize for the unintended slight, Commander,” the man said, apparently sounding sincere. “I am here on behalf of the Empire's Internal Security Service.” Known informally as 'Snakes' among the common people and even most of the military. “That man you were chasing, Celest Guillory... We need to ask him some questions, but we believe there is something that you two could do even better,” the man continued. “When he left, he took some valuable specimens from us. Your latest evaluations from Admiral Thrawn give you a high success rate. The Empire would reward you quite handsomely for retrieval of the specimens.” -Lothal- Restaurant There would be... something. Tugging at the back of Sarai's mind, calling her. Something within the Temple was stirring, and it was reaching out... Normandy Shuttle “I feel a bit naked without my rifles,” Garrus commented as he left the ship, adjusting his outfit slightly. A turian in Empire space shouldn't attract too much attention. The rigid heirarchy and military discipline had attracted a depressing sizeable turian population to join the Empire, though the bulk had stayed and helped form the current Alliance. “I'll be ready to pick you whenever, wherever, Commander,” Cortez told Shepard. “Even if you need pick up in the middle of that city.” Port As Hammah, Jimi, Kanan, Kxs, and Musashi headed off towards the Temple around a different way, Edda turned to Paul and Chloe. “Okay, Chloe, can you drive?” Edda asked, indicating the other vehicle. “I would, but...” Edda wasn't very good at driving. At all. “I'll do the talking though.” Paul got in the back, hiding there for now just in case... -The Citadel- Galv's Workshop “Sorta,” Galv said, “To both questions. It's not complete yet. A lot of pieces are complete but I still need some work on the frame and getting it all together. Pieces work, but...” He picked up what looked like a large gauntlet, hefting it slightly, the design being heavy. “It's pretty heavy, I wouldn't be able to move in it without power, so I gotta make sure it won't break apart when it's all together,” Galv explained. “If I was only focused on it, I could probably get it ready in about a week,” Galv said, “But I have a bunch of other projects too.” Kanna's Place Ethan pulled into Kanna's place now, parking his car and smirking towards Kanna. “We're here,” he grinned. Rica's Bar “It'd be wasted on me,” Samuel said, regarding the alcohol. “And yah, I do.” He pulled out the data disc, waving it slightly. “But first I wanna hear what you have for me. Any more leads on Sith holocrons?” -Flashback- Edda smiled as Chloe kissed him, running his hands around her side and holding her now. “Well... after I take care of that stuff... I'd definitely like to stick around you a lot more, if you'll still be willing to put up with me,” Edda said. |

[Omega] -Mordin's Infirmary- Lavo let out a deep sigh.“We lead him out of the ship. We knew that he at least knew where the starmap was.” His brows furrowed. “He read us like a book. He knew we were looking for it, or at least had a vague notion that we wanted something he had. He knew we were only leading him out to obtain it. The bastard lectured us like we were children.” “He gave us a choice,” Windsong intercepted. She had to do something before her brother could start ranting. “He told us either we could work under him, fight him, or flee and be hunted down as long as we lived. He said he wouldn't say he saw us at all, but...well I wouldn't trust an authority figure as far as you could throw one.” “So we just...walked away,” the brother stated, a defeated look on his face. “I...I could see it in his eyes. He's stronger than he let on. I knew if we faced him then and there, we would die.” |

[Omega] [Streets] Kimi raised an eyebrow, and Sama fell silent. They had really stumbled face-first into something big and weird. Imperial hotshots all seemed interested in this Guillory... which made Sama wonder just how bad things were. Usually when the Empire had this much of an interest in someone, it wasn't for anything good. He knew from first-hand experience. “Well, always glad to do our part for the Empire.” Kimi replied, shrugging. “What kind of specimens? Neither of us are exactly all that scientifically inclined, how will we know we found the right stuff?” Kimi was wary of the word 'specimens'. She had been a part of an Imperial experiment, and she knew first hand that sometimes that meant people forced into... terrible experiments. [Lothal] [Normandy Shuttle] “Good.” Shepard told Cortez, and then she, Garrus and Kaidan stepped off the shuttle and towards the city. She badly missed her armor, and heavier weapons, but she would make do with a pistol tucked away inside her jacket. She looked to Garrus. “Can't be helped. The Empire are pretty strict about civilians carrying weapons. There's rumors of rebel cells active all across the Empire.” The Empire put out propaganda every day that framed them as happy and prosperous, but the truth was far from that. Many of the planets conquered by the Empire were used as little better than slave labor. Entire world's were stripped of their natural resources to build the Imperial fleets, and often times the poor and non-human especially were forced into terrible situations. A sizable rebel movement had started on a few planets, but the Empire had been swift to fight back. Shepard knew some in the Alliance talked of supporting the rebels; but so far the Alliance had stayed out of it, for fear of prompting a war. [Wilderness] Kanan led the way, having been to this planet before long ago. He led them beyond the limits of the city and out into the wilds. Long, barren fields of dirt stretched on, with small hills and large rocks dotting the landscape. A fog was seemingly ever-present. “It's not too much further...” Kanan urged them forward, and soon they were near the base of tall, jagged cliffs – and there at the bottom was a large cavern opening. A maw in the rock, dark and unknowable. “We're going in there?” Musashi frowned. “Unless you'd rather knock on the front door.” Musashi shrugged. [The Citadel] [Rica's Bar] Rica sighed, as Samuel immediately brought up the dangerous subject. He was confident no one was listening in – this place was well shielded. “Well, I have good news and bad news regarding that subject.” Rica commented, as he sat down. “The good news is... yes. I found the motherload. Turns out dealing in Sith artifacts – including holocrons – is how the Shadow Broker got so connected with the Empire. From what I can tell, the boss has a map that leads to an ancient Sith Temple – just full of goodies, and no one else knows about it.” It was too good to be true. “... The Broker keeps the disc on him at all times. The info isn't in the network, and he doesn't share with anyone... which is why it's high time I take over. I've already spoken to Kanna. She's going to do some work for the Broker, I'll use that as an excuse to get close... and then I'm taking over. Then I'll have the disc, and the location of the artifacts.” |

-Omega- Mordin's Infirmary “So why not work for him?” Shadow asked, earning a look from Mordin and Omega. Shadow scowled slightly, shaking his head. “I don't mean permanently. Enough to earn some trust, get a star map, steal a ship, then leave. You can't always get things right away, you have to have some patience...” Streets “The two specimens will not be hard to find...” the man said, producing a small disc and flicking it on, showing two figures... “This first one was part of a project to add some saiyan DNA to humans for more controllable super soldiers. The prototype worked, but Guillory destroyed the data and took off with it,” the man said, an image of what looked like Jimi stood there. “It is dangerous though, strong. The second one may be even more so.” The image changed, showing Hammah. “This one was an attempt at Force capable shock troops. Considered highly effective, the notes and research were also destroyed. We need them tracked down.” Dun dun dunnnnnnn -Lothal- City Outskirts “I know, I know, I understand it intellectually, well... I just worry someone's messing with her while I'm down here,” Garrus said, attempting to make a joke despite, or perhaps because of, the tenseness. “I just got it calibrated just the way I like it.” He glanced around, noticing there seemed to be a wide variety of aliens as they headed further into the city proper. “Looks like I should just be another alien in the pot here...” Wilderness “Right, I'll go first then,” Jimi said, producing a small orb of light from his hand, heading into the opening without any sort of hesitation. Hammah did hesitate for a moment, feeling... something... then darted inside after his brother. -The Citadel- Rica's Bar Samuel frowned, leaning back in his seat, staring at the ceiling as he listened to Rica. “Do you even know what the Broker looks like? What species they even are?” Samuel asked. “You might get close but how will you know it's close?” |

[Omega] -Mordin's Infirmary- “What?!” Lavo hissed. “After all the effort to leave?” Windsong held her palm to her chin and tapped her finger on her cheek. “It's a sound strategy. Of course, there's the concern that Gallic can read our body language so well that he could catch a lie when he sees one.” “Then we shouldn't do it,” Lavo argued. “That man could probably read minds!” “I'm...pretty sure that no Force user could do that,” the younger sibling sighed. “What else could we do? If we need that star map, then not even the cybertronian we met could help us. He would probably need it too.” The older brother looked around the room with only his eyes. He felt like everyone was looking at him, waiting for him to not screw up. “...After all the things I've had to do for the Empire. After all the innocent people we've killed, and this is the best we can think of?” “Maybe under Gallic is different,” Windsong said. “He's still Empire!” Lavo growled. “He is as evil as the rest of them.” The sister frowned. Her brother was just earlier today afraid to leave, and now he couldn't bring himself to go back. She couldn't blame him. He saw what happened at home. Despite being there, she couldn't remember even a sound of how they were taken. “We have to do something. I'll do it alone if I have to.” [Lothal] -Wilderness- Kay gazed at the cavern for a second. It wasn't exactly what she was expecting. She wasn't going to complain; an adventure is an adventure. Then Jimi rushed ahead of the group. “Hey wait!” Kay shouted, running after the two brothers. |

-The Citadel- Galv's Workshop Melanie watched closely as Galv explained how the armor worked, and why it wasn't quite ready yet. While she knew some about engineering from being in the military herself she wanted to be a pilot, thus this all was a bit above her head. But it was still insanely interesting though. The girl moved from her spot, coming over in front of him to inspect it closer. Carefully she placed her hand on the metal, running her fingers along it before looking back to him. Just from the looks of it it had to be heavy. "Perhaps you need to figure out a way to boost your own powers, you know, to keep it all together. Looks like carrying something like that would drain someone pretty quick." Kanna's Place "i suppose we are" Kanna said simply, looking towards her door. At first she debated going in alone but the thought didn't linger long. "Want to come in?" The woman unlocked her door and stepped in, blinking as she realized something was off. Her first instinct was to be defensive (and probably shoot) but when she caught sight of a small baby crawling towards her she blinked and picked her up." "Solan- Oh you're finally back!" Jason exclaimed, appearing out in the kitchen. Once again Kanna blinked, not expecting her son. "What the hell are you doing here?" "Got a call to go in again tonight, something about a break in earlier on the base. Still haven't caught the person. Thought you might be able to watch Solanna" Kanna groaned, looking down at her happy toddler granddaughter "I'm a bit busy" Jason was about to ask with what but then noticed Ethan. "Oh. Ohhhh. Ew no." He said shaking his head. Thinking about his mother's rendevous was enough to make him nauseous. "No offense" [Lothal] Port “Okay, Chloe, can you drive? I would, but...” "Aye aye captain!" Chloe stated as Edda asked her to drive. "Good to know you still can't drive after all these years" she teased. [Restaurant] Sarai could tell that Connor was putting in an effort to make all that was happening normal, so Sarai decided she needed to try to. Ignoring her still slightly shaking hands she looked down on the menu, desperately scouring for something that looked familiar. Even though she was in the process of running away from them the girl was suddenly craving her brother's cooking- of at least something somewhat familiar. Suddenly her eyes came across a dish she recognized and the girl perked up. "C-Curry!" she noted excitedly before growing quiet once more (lest they draw attention to themselves). "Ummm curry, please." Edited by Crystal Rose, Jan 1 2018, 01:38 PM.
