-The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant “And hmm... never a good thing when you get bored,” "I can't argue there" Kanna said with a small smirk, contiuing with her wine. “I've been busy working on a few projects in my spare time, but it would be pretty technical.” At this Kanna's brow raised. "Gotta admit i'm a tiny bit curious...Anything my simple mind would understand?" -Flashback- "Pele....Maybe i'll go there then...." Chloe mumbled against Edda, suddenly snapping back to reality as Ethan's voice appaeared on the phone. She stiffened a bit and was silent for a seconds, but eventually she forced herself to speak. "“Mmm... Chloe? What's wrong? Are you okay?” "D-Dad.....Uh hey...." she said quietly "I'm okay, i'm actually back in town...I'm staying at Edda's right now...You remember him right-" Why in the world did she lead with that?! Maybe she just needed say it. It was like ripping off a bandaid. "-Dad, I got kicked out of the military" she said quickly, feeling a wave of shame come over her as she said it out loud. "I couldn't do what they wanted me to do so they discharged me...." More like wouldn't do what they wanted to. |

[The Citadel] [Spaceport] “Of course it will.” Rica shook his head, looking down at Sarai with a bit of disbelief. Though he doubted Genius was the type to employ a strategy like this... that guy was the definition of gaudy. “It may look like a piece of sh*t on the outside, but this ship is actually capable of some pretty incredible things. When you're on the run from the Empire, you don't want something that looks impressive – that's just asking for Imperial patrols to take notice of you. No, you want to look like you can barely limp along through space.” Rica smirked. “Then you're not a threat, and they ignore you.” Moira sighed, entering the ship and setting Connor down in one of the seats and strapping him in. Then she returned outside, and moved to Sarai's side. “Listen, whatever happens... you and Connor just get to Lothal. I'll meet with you as soon as I can.” She paused, then turned to Rica. “Whose going to pilot this ship?” “Oh yeah... I should mention that.” Rica rubbed his neck. “There is a reprogrammed Imperial combat droid on board. He's got a bad attitude, but I already sent instructions for him to obey these two. Name is K-2SO.” Moira didn't seem happy about this news, but she hadn't been thrilled about any of this. She sighed, turning to Sarai. “... Be safe, kid.” [The Cold Iron] “Hey! I don't...” Musashi paused, his cheeks turning red. “I mean... maybe back in the day I would have gone for someone like that, but I'm with Shiori. All I do is look, which is perfectly fine.” You're a real saint, Musashi. |

[The Citadel] [Spaceport] Sarai still wasn't totally convinced but she had no choice but to trust Rica's plan. Apparently the man had thought of everything, down to the droid who would pilot the thing. This should have put her at ease, but she was still terrified. “... Be safe, kid.” Sarai suddenly felt very bad for Moira, this couldn't have been easy for her. "Of course...You too...." And with that she climbed into the ship, taking a seat by Connor. [The Cold Iron] "All I do is look, which is perfectly fine.” Chloe couldn't help but slap her forhead. "Yeeeeah i'm just gonna let Shiori tell you what is wrong with that last sentence buddy." |

-The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant Ethan gave Kanna a small smirk, staring at her for a moment. “Dear, your mind is anything but simple. I suppose to put it simply... these are all years away, unless we get lucky, but we're making good progress on some new neural interfaces that don't require to actually be plugged into a person. Also on learning more about powers, at least in humanity. How they're passed on, all that. But we've been getting a lot of contradictory data there so it's been proving a bit frustrating.” -Flashback- Ethan was unsure of which issue to tackle first, speaking carefully. “Umm... you're at Edda's? Well, I remember he was a good kid, you two were good friends...” Ethan said carefully, “But if he tries anything, I will break his legs.” Edda, who could hear that, raised an eyebrow in slight alarm. “As for the military... That's fine,” Ethan said, speaking quietly. “Can you tell me the details over the phone, or would you prefer to talk in person? I can come over now if you want, or in the morning.” -The Cold Iron- Edda laughed slightly, shaking his head. “Yah... But anyways, we have some time... does anyone need anything?” -Omega- Capsule Ship “Ow...” Goku said, “At least it wasn't with a needle...” “Yes, fine, use my ship's equipment without asking,” Bulma said, scowling at Vegeta. “What are you even trying to do?” |

-The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant "So if all goes well you would know how we came into our powers?" Kanna asked, now quite interested. Like many people her powers just appeared one day when she was in her early teens. Before then she was a normal girl for the most part....Of course her children, well she assumed that their powers were inherited by her, for the fact that Jason had her light and Melanie her dark. There was no telling if their children would be normal or if they'd pass on their own powers- no one had really figured out how they worked- Until now it seemed. If all went well Ethan could be well on his way to discovering just why they had been given the powers they had... "I must admit, that actually is really impressive- Though if you figure out how our powers came into being does that mean you'd also be able to make people have specific powers scientifically?" -Flashback- “Umm... you're at Edda's? Well, I remember he was a good kid, you two were good friends...But if he tries anything, I will break his legs.” Chloe was smart enough not to tell her dad that that ship had already sailed, but couldn't help but to giggle at Edda's expression. “As for the military... That's fine, can you tell me the details over the phone, or would you prefer to talk in person? I can come over now if you want, or in the morning.” Chloe then went quiet, feeling a bit bad. She knew she should have just waited, got together her thoughts and decided just what she was going to tell her dad- but she also desperately wanted to see him, especially after how her conversation with her stepdad went- "I....I want to see you" she mumbled, looking to the side. "If that's okay....I know it's late...Really late" |

-The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant Ethan gave a small frown and a shrug. “Maybe, maybe not. I might run into some wall or something that I can't currently solve with the technology we have available. It might be unsolvable by us. That doesn't mean I'm not going to do everything I can to try though. The only thing I can say is that there is probably a genetic component to it. Powers tend to run in families. You and your children, for example. Chloe has my super strength. But that's also not always true. And some people manifest powers at different times, or are born with them. I got my strength as a teenager. Chloe had her's since she was very small.” He gave another small sigh, “A lot of people think science means getting all the answers. Often finding one answer leads to a lot more questions.” -Flashback- “It's fine dear, I'll be there soon,” Ethan said, getting the address then heading out. Edda was quiet for a moment once Ethan hung up, still holding Chloe. “...We should probably put some actual clothes on before your father shows up,” Edda suggested, “But you do look good in my sweatshirt.” |

-The Citadel- “A lot of people think science means getting all the answers. Often finding one answer leads to a lot more questions.” "Deep..." Kanna said slowly, taking another sip of her wine as their meals were placed in front of them. It all looked and smelled delicious, but she continued to look to Ethan from across the table. "Just be careful, that kind of research could be very valuable to a lot of people" she said calmly. "People who want to create powers or give themselves ones they weren't meant to have. You'd be surprised how many people want to be freaks like us" -Flashback- When Ethan hung up Chloe gave a sigh, relieved that this call had gone better than the first. She leaned against Edda for a moment and looked back out at the city. “...We should probably put some actual clothes on before your father shows up. But you do look good in my sweatshirt.” "You took what my dad said about breaking your legs seriously didn't you?" she said with a little laugh "Smart man. Oh and I think i'm gonna keep this. It smells like you." she said, leaning up and kissing him before standing back up. She liked this feeling, like she was in a place she was suposed to be- though she was aware she couldn't stay. Edda had to go wherever he was going (she was still annoyed he wouldn't tell her), she needed to find work, she couldn't (and wouldn't) bum off her dad... "Would it be overly sappy if I said I'll wait for you to come back?" Chloe asked, walking back in and attempting to find some shorts. She wasn't lying about keeping the sweatshirt. "I mean I don't really have much else going for me right now" |

-The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant Ethan smirked slightly, shaking his head. “I suppose that could be very valuable, but there's no way to do that. If... and I want to stretch that if, it is possible, something like that is still a decade away at the earliest, even if someone was willing to throw a fortune at it.” He took a sip of his water before he started eating, enjoying the meal and the company. -Flashback- “A bit. Your dad also struck me as being very serious,” Edda said, then smiled brightly at Chloe and kissing her back. “Then feel free to keep it,” Edda said, then paused as he considered Chloe's question, finding a shirt and putting it on now. “It's a bit sappy, but I don't think you're the one who will would like to just wait for someone. You'll find something you're good at and love doing, and do that. I'll... get stuff sorted out, then hopefully we can spend more time together. It... might take a while,” Edda said, looking annoyed, though at himself. -The Cold Iron- Edda was quiet for a moment, looking towards Musashi and Shiori, then over to Chloe. “Actually... Chloe, can we talk in private for a bit?” Edda said, “I need to let you know about some stuff.” |

-The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant "Maybe, but i'm pretty sure if anyone could figure it out it would be you" Kanna decided, turning to her meal. -The Cold Iron- “Actually... Chloe, can we talk in private for a bit? I need to let you know about some stuff.” Chloe blinked and turned back to Edda, giving him a small nod. He looked serious so she refrained from joking around, instead following him out of the room. -Flashback- “It's a bit sappy, but I don't think you're the one who would like to just wait for someone. You'll find something you're good at and love doing, and do that. I'll... get stuff sorted out, then hopefully we can spend more time together. It... might take a while,” Chloe frowned at Edda, knowing he was talking about the thing he refused to talk to her about...It was killing her, half because she really wanted to know and half because she was kinda resentful he didn't trust her enough to say. "Do you trust me?" she asked standing stiffly in her spot as she looked up at him. "Tell me something....Something to put me at ease when you leave and get yourself killed." |

-The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant Ethan found himself blushing slightly at Kanna's words, remaining quiet as he dug into his meal. After a few minutes, he spoke again. “But... even if I could figure that out... I don't think I would. I don't think it would be right to do so.” -The Cold Iron- Edda lead Chloe near the bridge, making a different turn and into a rather spacious room, where a couch, a small table, a desk, and a nice looking bed sat. This was clearly the Captain's quarters, situated near the bridge, and while there was evidence of the desk being used, the bed didn't seem slept in (in fact Chloe would see a pillow and a sheet tossed up near the desk itself), and the table looked unused as well. Edda hesitated for a moment, then sat down at the table, motioning for Chloe to take a seat across from him. “I... it's about time I told you everything,” Edda said, “Especially if you do wanna... join up, with me.” He pulled up a virtual display, then popped up three different pictures. One Chloe might recognize as Edda's father, and the other two shared a familial resemblance to Edda and his father. “My father was a Pathfinder, finding new systems and planets to be colonized or with resources,” Edda said, “When the Empire formed, that stopped being something anyone needed, as we all focused inwards. But... before that, my family came into it's money by some more... shady ends. My father didn't want anything to do with that, and cut ties with the rest of the family...” He pointed to the other two faces, one an older man, the other a younger man around Edda and Chloe's age. “Alvar and Jens Adwr, my uncle and cousin, respectively. They... work for the Empire. My uncle is actually fairly high up, he helps develop a lot of weapon systems and the like. I raided one of his bases, that's where this ship came from,” Edda said. “The past few years... that's what I've been working on, trying to stop that part of my family from doing any more harm... And it's why I didn't want to tell you...” Edda looked guilty, ashamed about that part of his family. -Flashback- “I do trust you, it's just... it's... family,” Edda said carefully, looking down at Chloe. “But I won't get myself killed, okay? I promise you that. Do you trust me?” |

[The Citadel] [Convoy Ship] Moira nodded to Sarai, and then followed Rica out. The door closed and the ship slowly took off, sailing above the city and out of the Citadel's spaceport. A few minutes after they had cleared the Citadel, the door opened and a tall, black droid with a curved head and large glowing eyes suddenly approached Sarai. “Oh good. More humans. My absolute favorite.” His mechanical voice was dry and he sounded sarcastic. “I am K-2SO, and I suppose you're the ones Rica wants delivered to Lothal? Fine. Just try not to cause too much noise. I'm not allowed to kill you but I'm liable to forget that order if you annoy me.” The droid had Imperial markings on its arms, but its attitude was far from the no-nonsense Imperial droids. Then, about fifteen minutes after they had departed the Citadel, Connor began to stir and his eyes opened. He sat up, groaned, and looked around. “Wha... where are we?” [Omega] [Capsule Corp Ship] “Relax woman, I'm just borrowing your ship's power.” Vegeta said, as if that made it okay. He had plugged a small round device into one of the computer terminals, and inserted Goku's blood into it. There was a ding, and then he unplugged the device. “And if you must know, I sent a readout of this low-class Saiyan's blood to an Imperial databank to run it against known Saiyan samples. I'd like to know just what it is I'm dealing with here.” |

[Omega] -Fallback Location- Windsong gave a nod. “Yeah, he's helping us.” “At least we think he is,” Lavo commented. His sister frowned at him. “He wouldn't let us have his credits if he wasn't.” Lavo looked away once more. He was in a mood. The Cold Iron -Training Room- “Woah!” Kay had just barely bent in time to avoid Jimi's foot. He had started a little faster than she was ready. She was thankful she had decent enough reflexes to deal with it. She moved upward while Jimi was still in late-kick. She aimed to knee him in the back and use his own movement to get him spiraling. |

[The Citadel] Convoy Ship When the doors to the ship closed and began to take off Sarai curled up in her seat, staring out of the small window with a sigh. She knew this was the best thing to do considering their circumstances, but that didn't mean she wasn't terrified. A few minutes later a pair of doors opened and a droid came in. The girl looked up, stiffening in her spot as she watched it approach her. "Oh good. More humans. My absolute favorite. I am K-2SO, and I suppose you're the ones Rica wants delivered to Lothal? Fine. Just try not to cause too much noise. I'm not allowed to kill you but I'm liable to forget that order if you annoy me.” The girl could only give a timid nod, afraid to make any moves against the droid. She didn't want to tempt fate.... “Wha... where are we?” Instantly Sarai jumped, rushing over to Connor's side (despite just being afraid to move). "C-Connor you're awake! We're....aIn a ship. Your sister sent us away....She stayed to do a job for a man she used to work for... Wow. All of that sounded really bad. Fancy Restaurant "Of course you wouldn't" Kanna said, with a small smile "You're too good for that..." For once she didn't mean that sarcastically, he really was too good to do something like that. Even though he associated with less than steller people (like her) he had always been a good, honest man at heart- -At least as far back as she knew him. [The Cold Iron] Chloe followed Edda to the bridge, stiffening a bit when she realized what Edda wanted to talk about. She suddenly remembered back year ago... “The past few years... that's what I've been working on, trying to stop that part of my family from doing any more harm... And it's why I didn't want to tell you...” "Considering my asshole parents - well most of them- did you really think I was gonna judge you? I mean....This is a bit more instense, but still." The young woman moved forward, kissing Edda quickly, before looking to the side- and punching him. Hard. "That's for not telling me until now." She then punched him again. "And that's for not letting me help you asshole!" [Flashback] “But I won't get myself killed, okay? I promise you that. Do you trust me?” Chloe looked obviously frustrated, the young woman's cheeks red in frustration. She stared down at her bare feet, clenching her fists tightly. She was so mad, but she wanted to stay calm. "This isn't fair, but yes. I trust you" she mumbled. |

-Omega- Fallback Location “Are you really sure you want to go back to your planet?” Shadow asked after a moment, frowning. “Neither Omega nor I really have a 'home' to go to, so maybe we don't understand this... but once the Empire realizes you've left, wouldn't that be one of the first places they look? There aren't a lot of draiken in the Empire as far as I know.” Capsule Corp Ship “He's just Goku. I admit... he could be a Saiyan, but so what?” Bulma said, glancing towards Goku. “What you see is what you get.” After some time, the machine would ding at Vegeta again, revealing results had come back. There was a match, a living Saiyan in the database that Vegeta and Nappa knew, Nappa looking over Vegeta's shoulder to look. “He's Raditz's brother? I didn't know Raditz had a brother,” Nappa commented. -The Citadel- Fancy Restaurant Ethan smiled slightly at the compliment, looking at Kanna now. “You have a lot of good in you too, Kanna,” Ethan said, “You could do a lot of good for people.” For some reason Ethan seemed to see good in Kanna. -The Cold Iron- Training Room Jimi did spin around, barely avoiding Kay's knee as he kept going, ducking down low now. He pressed forward, going for a low center of gravity, trying to tackle Kay and knock her to the ground! Captain's Quarter's Edda winced at the punches, rubbing his armor. “I deserved that...” he said, “But it wasn't me worried you'd judge me... just that I was worried they might try and get you. I know you could handle things, but... They don't know about you, and you had so much else to worry about, I didn't want to give you my own worries...” He sighed a little, rubbing his arm, “It's the only reason Paul knows, because they already know about him and everything. I would have kept him in the dark too otherwise...” -Flashback- “I'm sorry... I really am...” Edda said, “But I do... lo-” Before Edda could finish, there was a knock on the door, Ethan having finally arrived. |

[Convoy Ship] Connor felt groggy and confused. He listened to Sarai and his jaw dropped. It was all too much to believe! His sister had gone back to working for the Shadow Broker, and it was his fault. He bit his lip, feelings of anguish and guilt engulfing him. His head still hurt, Connor placed his hand on his temple and let his hand glow slightly. After a moment he put his hands back into his lap and sighed. “... Geez... I can't believe this... it really turned into a mess, didn't it?” [Omega] [Capsule Corp Ship] “What I see is a low-class Saiyan who clearly spent too much time with humans.” Vegeta shook his head. When the machine finally dinged, Vegeta quickly looked down at his Imperial PDA – and then he gasped at the result. “Bardock? This pathetic whelp is Bardock's kid?” Vegeta was amazed. Bardock had been a celebrated warrior. Vegeta turned to look at him, and frowned. “... Very well then... You! Goku the woman called you... that's not your name. You're Kakarot. Remember it with pride.” [Streets] In one of the back alleys of Omega, a local chapter of the Blue Sun's mercenary army was meeting with an unusual pair. The alleyway was square, with only one entrance – a narrow path that led out to one of the back roads. On all sides were tall, darkened buildings that were in disrepair, clearly abandoned. A group of Blue Sun's mercenaries encircled the alley. Four of them stood on the right, four others on the left. Two more were near the entrance of the alley, while three others were at the far end – including The leader of the Blue Sun's chapter, a tall Batarian. The Batarian was staring daggers with all four of his eyes at a pair of humans who stood in the middle of the circle. Normally two humans surrounded on all sides by hostile aliens with big guns and military-grade armor was bad news – but these two looked almost... bored. The first was a girl wearing black armor similar to that of an Imperial Stormtrooper, but she had a long emerald colored cape over her shoulder, and a black officer's hat perched on her head. Her hair was long, brown and billowing behind her – and her large green eyes were filled with anger. Standing just behind her was a tall man with messy brown hair and a matching beard. He wore a long black cloak over blood red robes. On his belt were two long cylindrical devices hanging from the side. His arms were crossed in front of him, the left hand made of a smooth black metal instead of skin. “So you're Blue Boy's delegation, huh? I'm not impressed. Maybe his reputation is overblown.” The Batarian scoffed. He eyed the man in the robes for a moment, thinking he looked like a doofus – and then turned his four eyes to the girl. She was short and didn't strike him as impressive. Then the Batarian's eyes lingered on her armor. “... Aren't you a little short to be a Stormtrooper?” “Did you just call me a f*cking Stormtrooper?” The girl snapped, annoyance dripping from every syllable of every word. “GEEZ, four eyes and you still can't see worth-a-sh*t! Have you ever seen a Stormtrooper with a cape? How about one who wears an OFFICER'S HAT instead of a helmet?” The Batarian growled. “You got a big mouth on you, woman.” “All the better to scream 'No sh*t' with.” The girl growled in response. “Geez, what kind of species can grow four-eyes and, what, eight nostrils – but no BRAIN?” Several of the mercenaries were also Batarians – and many of them raised their rifles at this remark. Neither the girl in armor or the boy in robes looked particularly bothered or worried. “As much as I'd enjoy standing around and insulting you, your face, your chickensh*t mercenary outfit and your entire species; I actually have stuff to do today, so how about you take that oversized melon you call a head out of what I can only assume is one several as$es your species evolved for whatever reason and hand over what the Grand Admiral paid for before I lay a beating on you that makes you even fuglier than you already are?” “You are great at negotiations.” The boy rolled his eyes as his shorter companion's vicious rant finally finished. The Batarian Leader was shaking. His four eyes were narrowed dangerously and his teeth were gritted so hard his entire jaw quaked. “... I don't care how much Blue Boy offered me... I wouldn't turn over this data disk to you two for all the money on the Citadel. Do you have any idea what I'm going to do to you?” The girl shrugged. “If you're goin' back on the deal, I'm going to beat you to death with your own arms. Just sayin'.” “SLAUGHTER THESE LOUDMOUTHS!” The Batarian commander shouted. In an instant the two moved. The girl in Stormtrooper armor shot forward at speeds that seemed impossible for any normal human and bright green light began to spark around her right fist as she slammed it into the chest of the nearest Blue Sun mercenary. With one punch she shattered the front of his armor – and the Batarian inside groaned as he began coughing up blood, collapsing on his side. The boy in robes threw out his hand and bright blue lightning sprang from his fingertips, whipping across and raking the bodies of the four mercenaries on the left. They screamed and dropped their guns as their bodies began to glow with light. They fell to the ground the moment the lightning stopped flashing, and none of them moved. The remaining mercenaries were all shooting, but despite their intense training and skilled aim the girl and the boy weren't put off in the least. In the girl's case she simply barrels forward as the lasers bounced away from her armor, and she jumped and slammed her heavy boot against the face of the nearest Batarian – snapping his neck the moment she made impact. In the boy's case, he moved with speed beyond normal human ability, his hands whipping down to his belt as he grabbed the twin lightsabers and flickered their blood-red blades to life, swinging them effortlessly and blocking the incoming lasers. He jumped and spun his way closer to the mercenaries on the right and his blades easily went right through their armor – as well as their flesh, bones and organs – and reduces the mercenaries to broken lumps. The Batarian leader was shocked to see how quickly his elite troops went from among the fiercest warriors on Omega to corpses. He tried to shoot at the girl, but she grabbed his gun and smashed it in her hand, ripping it out of his hand and tossing it away. “Now what did I tell you?” She asked – and she watched his four eyes open wide in fear as she grabbed his arm by the wrist and pulled it out extended – and then she brought her other arm down in an arm, light glowing around her fist as she slammed it, in a karate chop style, down onto his elbow joint. The Batarian screamed as his arm came off at the elbow, and the girl then spun around and slapped him across the face with his own dismembered arm. “Oh yeah! I remember now – I said I'd beat you to death with your own arms!” She grinned like a maniac, and then she made good on her threat. The boy sighed, watching her for a few moments before he finally yelled out. “Kimi! That's enough! Geez... do you always have to make such a mess?” She spun around and narrowed her eyes. “He pissed me off, Sama, so yes, I did have to make a mess. Now come on, help me check these corpses for the data disk or the Grand Admiral is going to have our heads.” … Yep. They're bad guys this time. (?) |
