Docks: The Cold Iron “Paul and I raided an Empire facility, it's where we got this ship... and had to ditch the old one. Rammed it into a Star Destroyer though, the ol' girl went down fighting,” Edda answered, “I wanted to see about bringing you in but the opportunity to do it came really quickly, didn't have time to find you.” Chloe couldn't help but groan. "Damn Edda, if that's what you do to your ships i'd hate to see what you do to your women" she joked. "Start treating your ships better before you lose your flying privileges! Though I appreciate your thinking of me" She kissed him again, pressing him against the wall. With her strength it wasn't hard. "Also what the HELL were you doing raiding an Empire facility!?" [Citadel: Hawkins Ship] “Oh please, with my resources I could tear this ship to pieces... but it's not worth it to expose myself at the Citadel.” "Your overconfidence isn't 100% convincing but fine then, you can build me one better than this piece of junk, which means I don't have to waste my money or suck up to him..." She pointed at Jacob. [Citadel: Coffee Shop] "That's smart" Sarai noted "Don't let anyone take advantage of your powers if you can help it... They're really amazing, have you had them forever?" She was really starting to get nosey about Connor's life, but hopefully not too annoying. -Flashback- Chloe couldn't help but to notice Edda's tone, the teenage girl trying not to notice. “Good luck with it! Gonna try and be a pilot, or something where you can punch people?” "Engineering. It's really the only thing outside of this that i'm good at...I haven't mentioned to them my powers yet....Haven't decided if it would be smart.....Oh! But I already told my mom and stepdad about it, I swear i've never heard them sound so happy about me before. They actually told me that they were proud!" Chloe's relationship with her mother and stepfather was much the same as it was as a child...And much like a child she just wanted to make them happy even if they wanted nothing to do with her....But not as happy as- "I haven't really told my dad anything about it yet. He doesn't even know I was considering it." She admitted |

[Citadel] -Docks: The Cold Iron- Kay was already walking out as Jimi was talking to Hammah. “I can carry some of your things too!” she shouted. [Omega] -Docks: Empire Ship- Motioning with her gun, Windsong urged her brother and the strange man out of the ship. “Make sure no one sees you,” she said quietly. “We don't need them getting suspicious.” As they walked out, Lavo wanted to address to his sister of what he saw on the screen, but was certain that until they were separated from the stranger that they were within ear-shot. It would have to wait. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Citadel- The Cold Iron “Awww, you know you're the only woman for me,” Edda said, smirking as he kissed Chloe back, feeling himself pressed against the wall. “As for why, I had some good intell. It worked out.” He paused for a moment, glancing around before he added, “And I'm fine either way, we have time, but did you wanna catch up, or... 'catch up'?” Docks “You can carry your own things,” Jimi said to Kay as they headed towards their own ship. “And I'll carry mine and my brother's. Eddie, what about your core?” “I am in the process of transferring to the Cold Iron. It has a resident AI already but the ship appears designed for multiple instances, there is plenty of room!” Eddie chimed along. Hawkins' Ship “There isn't any amount of money or anything else you could provide that would get me to build you a ship,” Jacob said. “As you can tell, I am old. I think a little clearer then in my youth in certain regards.” -Omega- Docks Once they were far enough from the ship, the man paused and turned, staring at the two aliens before him. “I should kill you both here, being Empire,” the man said with a growl, “But...” He paused, and for a moment his expression looked softer. “...They wouldn't like that...” -Flashback- Edda did frown a little at Chloe mentioning her mother and step father. He had the misfortune of meeting them once and wasn't impressed. “I'm sure your dad will be happy as long as it's something you want to do,” Edda said, “You're the best engineer I've ever seen, I bet you'll do great!” -Empire System: Sancere- A blond haired man glared at the image before him, hovering there as it zoomed in on the face. It showed a younger man in powered armor, helmet off, also with blond hair. The older man wore an implacable suit, neat lines and with a haircut that probably cost more then the desk he was sitting at, while the young man's hair was messy and wild, his armor looking good, but used. There was a certain passing resemblance in the faces... “Damn it... this can't be a coincidence...” the man said, drumming his fingers on his desk and looking up at his nervous assistant. “Are you sure that's the only image?” “It's only clear one,” the assistant said, “Everything else got jumbled when he unshackled the AI. We're lucky we got this.” The man's frown deepened, “And who else has seen this image?” “Just you sir,” the assistant said, “And... well, me. This is the only copy, on that data coin. I purged everything else from our records.” “And covered your tracks?” the blond haired man asked. The assistant nodded. “I also put out a bounty on him, as ordered earlier,” the assistant added, “Through the discreet channels.” “We can't hide what he did, but for now we can hide who he is,” the man said, then sighed, pressing a button. “Jens, get in here!” A minute later a young man walked in, also dressed in a nice suit, his hair immaculate, also baring a resemblance to the young man in the picture, but more so to the older man here. “Yes, Father?” Jens asked, standing straight. The older man moved the image around, showing it to Jens, a look of disgust crossing his face. “Oh... him,” Jens said, “So that was his fault.” “Yes... And I want you to go after him. He's gone too far this time,” the older man said. “Your cousin needs to pay.” |

[Citadel] -Docks- Kay rolled her eyes. “Oh alright,” she whined. She mostly wanted to show off anyway. She wasn't superpowered like Jimi, but she was certainly toned. Heavy lifting wasn't too big a deal for her. [Omega] -Docks- Lavo and Windsong were ready to aim their guns and bare their teeth at the threat that the man gave them. His mention of “they” only created frowns on their faces. Just who was this guy working for? “Then we'll be parting ways,” Windsong said. “Yes,” Lavo added. “We have business. Empire business. And stuff.” Windsong's tail stiffened as she tried not to show annoyance in her face. This boy was going to get them in killed if he kept talking. |

[Citadel: Docks] Musashi simply shrugged to Hammah. “The most important thing is just to find some people you can trust.” He gave a sad smile, his thoughts being forced back to bad memories. Meeting the children of a force-user... it was an unusual occurrence, and he hadn't been prepared for something like this. He gave a bit of a sigh, running his hand through his hair. [Citadel: Hawkins' Ship] “Don't worry about it Kanna. There's things far more valuable than ships and money.” Rica said with a small smirk. This Jacob Hawkins was an interesting man. There was sure to be some kind of history to him... and Rica had the resources to track it down. Someone like this could be valuable. Just knowing he was alive, and where to find him. Someone might pay a lot for that information. The Shadow Broker always worked that way. [Citadel: Covfefe Shop] Connor nodded slightly. “Yeah, as long as I can remember. My sister and my mom have them too, but not my dad...” He frowned a bit. He hadn't seen his parents in years, and at this point he wasn't sure if they were still alive. Oddly, most of the pain had faded. [Citadel: ???] In one of the darker, dingier corners of the Citadel was a simple garage that seemed closed for business. Yet beneath the cold steel floor, beyond the hidden passageways, was a secret complex built beneath the ground. A man sat at the table, his face in his hands, mind wracked with memories. Then his phone began to ring and his eyes widened. Only a handful of people in the universe had his number. When he picked it up, his voice was rough and unwelcoming. “This is Snake.” [Omega: Afterlife] “Get her back to the ship, Nappa!” Vegeta commanded as he jumped forward. “I'll deal with these pests!” His hands began to glow once more, but this time the energy burning between his fingers was a blazing purple and there was a demented smirk on his face. “Alright kid, I've had fun, but this is over... see if you can survive my Galic Gun!” He unleashed the blast, headed straight for Goku! [TARDIS] The Doctor fell silent, a sad smile on his face. He had always liked inspiring others to do the right thing, but something about 'following his footsteps' made him worry. Jenny had never truly seen the types of horrors that the Doctor often left in his wake, either by his failures... or by his hand. “I'm proud of you Jenny. Just... be careful.” The Doctor smiled at her, at length, but his mind was elsewhere... [The Battle Of Earth – 100 Years Ago] Lasers and high ordinance shells streaked through space as ships tore one another apart. Orbiting the Earth was the debris from hundreds of wrecked ships, as one of the largest battles in history unfolded. The Invincible Sith Armada had finally reached the Earth, their massive silver ships spewing forth crimson hot lasers that bombarded the last vestige of Earth's defense force. The seat of human power looked ready to fall, although a single fleet was fighting back and a few of the Sith ships were falling. Aboard the Sith Flagship, a figure stood and stared at a viewing screen. Mandalorian styled armor and a black cloak covered the figure, while lightsabers hung from a heavy belt. Behind the mask, its wearer watched the battle unfold and then spoke quietly. “Geary's fleet is putting up a better defense than I anticipated, but they will fail. The Earth will fall before our might and they cannot stop us... nor can you, Time Lord.” A few of the workers on the bridge looked in confusion when their dark master spoke – and a few others spotted the man in the leather jacket standing nonchalantly on the bridge just behind the Sith Lord. “So many lives senselessly destroyed by your hand, Revan. It didn't have to be this way.” The Doctor sighed. He watched as two of the soldiers started towards him, but Revan's hand went up and they stopped at the wordless command of their master. “Of course it did.” Revan replied, without turning back to look at The Doctor. “This day was foretold a long time ago. This war will end, Earth will fall, and the Sith will claim our rightful place.” “Weren't YOU born on Earth?” The Doctor pointed out as he crossed his arms. “You're destroying your home.” Revan began to laugh, a cold, terrible sound. “The irony that you would lecture me on such a thing...” The frown on the Doctor's face increased. He took a step closer to Revan, his hands in his pockets. “The difference is, my atrocity was done in the name of saving lives. Yours is done only to destroy.” “Why are you here, Time Lord? You must know that you wouldn't last a mere minute fighting me.” Revan's hand moved down by the lightsaber. The Doctor could only laugh. “Actually, I was sort of hoping we'd have a chat and you'd decide to call the whole invasion off. Leave the Earth in peace. Bring an end to this senseless war.” “I always knew you to be an optimistic fool, but this is truly outrageous, even for you.” Revan chuckled darkly, turning towards The Doctor. “You are a weak, old man, Doctor. You lack the conviction to do what you must.” Suddenly the ship gave a massive lurch as lasers bombarded it and something struck the hull of the ship. Revan and The Doctor both lost their footing, falling to the ground. Several of the hands on the bridge had fallen, and a few were dead. One of the computer terminal exploded, showering flames and sparks across the bridge. “What the hell was that?” Revan shouted. “Geary! He... he launched something at us with a gravity well!” One of the officers shouted over the sound of the explosions. “The shields couldn't handle it...” The Doctor sat up and grinned. “Fantastic! He threw a rock at you.” Revan glared. The Doctor shrugged. “It was a big rock.” Electricity crackled from Revan's palm, and then it spewed out and slammed into the Doctor. The electricity rampaged across his face and chest and knocked him down to the ground. Revan jumped back up, and was rushing to one of the consoles. “Damage repo-” Another massive impact came. Geary's ship streaked by outside the main window, the gravity cannon pulsating from the most recent rock drop. Revan started barking orders, demanding that Geary's ship be brought down – and powerful laser cannons complied, eventually striking a hit and sending Geary's ship spiraling. “We're in bad shape!” One of the officers on the bridge yelled at Revan. “Another impact like that and we're...” “It's fine,” Revan was calming down now. “The rest of the fleet doesn't have Geary's knack for improvisation. Continue the assault, pull us back, I will NOT fail! Earth burns today!” Haggard breathing slowly rose above the rest of the sounds, and Revan turned in time to see The Doctor climbing to his feet. His leather jacket was torn and burnt and his face was bloodied – and there was a slight shine coming from his skin. Gold and brilliant, and unlike anything even Revan had seen before. “... You need... to evacuate... the bridge...” The Doctor panted, great strain evident on his face. He was struggling to stand – and struggling with something else. It was as if he was clenching his every muscle, trying desperately to hold something back. Revan's lightning flashed across the room, throwing The Doctor back to the ground. This time, though, the lightning seemed to absorb straight into his body. Revan's eyes widened behind the helmet. “That is REALLY not helping.” The Doctor groaned, now too weak to stand. “This... this is going to be a bad one...” Revan's hand raised to blast the lightning again; but then gold erupted from The Doctor's hands and face and suddenly the entire bridge was bathed in energy – and ripped apart. The front end of Revan's flagship was torn to pieces, several of the officers being immediately pulled out into space from the tears on the hull. Revan took a blast of the light straight to the face and was thrown down a few feet away from where the Doctor lay still. When his eyes opened next, The Doctor had a new face and sat up breathing hard – and then quickly realizing that he wasn't breathing at all. The bridge was compromised and the oxygen was being sucked out into space. He quickly forced himself up, and started towards the TARDIS – when his eyes fell on Revan's unconscious form – and he saw the shining golden regenerative energy covering Revan's body. The Doctor frowned, and then quickly grabbed Revan and hoisted the Sith Lord up onto his shoulder as he stumbled into the TARDIS and vanished... |

[Citadel] The Cold Iron And I'm fine either way, we have time, but did you wanna catch up, or... 'catch up'?” "Normally I would say 'catch up'-" Chloe started, moving back from Edda just long enough to do air quotes. "But now i'm distracted- What kinda intel? You can't just give me a tidbit like that and then go back to trying to get my clothes off you bum!" The girl glared up at the much taller man, hands on her hips "You were doing something dangerous weren't you?" Hawkins' Ship Kanna stared down Jacob for a moment, but then relented, looking back to Rica and Jason. "Then we have no need to be here. Come on, we'll leave the old man to his rusted out ship-" She grabbed Rica's arm as they walked off, leaning in. "How hard would it be for you to kill the old man and take it?" Covfefe Shop (GS wins....) “Yeah, as long as I can remember. My sister and my mom have them too, but not my dad...” "Oh.....Ah- sorry I keep bringing up such depressing things" Sarai exclaimed, obviously flustered. She tried to smile, looking around the room. "T-Tell me something about you that's happy! I mean i'm sure you were an adorable child- I mean not like a kitten or something- y-you're a man- not cute- handsome- augh...." ....She was sooooo awkward. [Flashback] “I'm sure your dad will be happy as long as it's something you want to do,” Edda said, “You're the best engineer I've ever seen, I bet you'll do great!” "He's on his way now, thought i'd tell him in a spot where he can take out his disappointment on a punching bag" she joked, now stepping forward. "Though before he get's here I just wanted to say- even though you're an absolute pain in my ass i'll miss you when I leave. Military service is a long time- it'll be weird not trying to knock you on your ass every other day" |

[Citadel: Hawkins' Ship] Rica just chuckled slightly, shaking his head to Kanna. “Killing him is a simple matter, stealing the ship might be harder. Old guy knows his tech, probably has some advanced security systems. With enough time – and money – I could find someone who could override them, but honestly the whole thing would be a pain in the ass.” He then let his grin grow a bit more. “Besides, I wasn't bluffing before when I said I had access to better ships. There's something I should tell you, Kanna, but not here. Somewhere more private.” For once he wasn't trying to get under her dress... or at least not exclusively that. [Citadel: Covfefe Shop] Connor could feel his cheeks heating up even more than before, his face turning rather red and he tried to clear his throat but he felt like it was tighter than before. He had never been described as handsome before – and it just reminded him that he was sitting with a very pretty girl on his bed. If not for fleeing from her crazy mobster family, it could have been nice. “T-Thanks,” Connor mumbled. “Um... but honestly it wasn't all so depressing. I mean, I miss my parents, but... I think they'd be happy with me trying to be a doctor, and I know they'd be happy that Moira isn't involved with crime anymore...” |

-The Citadel- Docks Guillory Ship Jimi grabbed his and Hammah's bags, not being too much. They had packed fairly light in an attempt to find their father. They didn't really own much to begin with, at least nothing they didn't worry about leaving behind. “Hey... Kay...” Jimi said, after a moment, looking over at the girl. “Thanks for coming with us. You really didn't have, but I appreciate that you did.” The Cold Iron Hammah nodded towards Musashi, pausing for a moment as he looked him over. “...Is something wrong?” he asked, looking concerned. Edda nodded, “Of course I was doing something dangerous. That's what I do.” He grinned down at Chloe, “I had Paul with me though, and the intel was accurate. We got in, caused a ruckus, got this ship and other supplies, and got out.” -Omega- Docks The man frowned at them, a look of concern on his face. They were Empire... he had used them to get the information he needed. Killing them should be a simple matter, but... he didn't want to. Perhaps becoming a father really had changed him... “...You're draiken, you two... how did you join the Empire?” the man asked suddenly. Afterlife “Oh crap!” Goku said, bringing his hands back and focusing as Vegeta charged his energy. “Kame...hame...ha!” He fired his own blast back, fighting Vegeta's Galic Gun for a couple moments, until he was overpowered and slammed back into the wall, falling over with a low groan. “Alright, let's go!” Nappa yelled, carrying Bulma over his shoulder as he hurried off, Bulma yelling angry expletives. -T.A.R.D.I.S.- Jenny smiled towards The Doctor, then turned her attention back to the phone when Snake answered. “Hey Snake... this is Jenny,” Jenny said. “I need your help with something. It's dangerous, up against the Empire, and failing may very well result in countless deaths... you in?” -Flashback- Edda smiled down at Chloe, looking a little sheepish. “Awww... I'm gonna miss you too. Maybe we'll run into each other. My dad does scouting runs for planets and resources for the Alliance, I'm planning on following along with that, so there's a lot of collaboration with the military.” He paused, considering doing something else when the door to the dojo opened up, Ethan stepping in and looking towards Chloe and Edda. Ethan smiled. He liked Edda, and he was pretty sure Chloe quite liked him too. “Chloe, I'm here,” Ethan said, “What was the news you couldn't tell me over the phone?” Edited by AGodofIrony, Jun 8 2017, 10:18 PM.

-The Citadel- The Cold Iron “I had Paul with me though, and the intel was accurate. We got in, caused a ruckus, got this ship and other supplies, and got out.” "Chloe frowned a bit, cocking her head to the side. "I have a feeling you're leaving it vauge for a reason so i'm not going to push, but stop doing dangerous crap- or at least wait until i'm there to make sure you don't die from it" She moved forward again and kissed him. "I doubt Paul could bash in some creep's head as well as I could" Hawkins' Ship Kanna raised a brow, intrigued by what Rica needed to tell her....In private. She knew the man would just about say any inappropriate thing in public- so this should be interesting. "Lead the way then" Covfefe Shop "I'm sure they would be..." Sarai said with a small smile, realizing (like Connor) that they were alone....And it was nice. She looked back to him, drawing a small breath- Suddenly a creek. It could have been a tree outside or an old floor board but the sound instantly drew Sarai up in a start, grabbing her knife, ready to stab someone 47 times. When she realized it was nothing she gave another shaky breath. Yeah....It really would have been nice. If not for running from her mobster dad. -Flashback- "Really?" Chloe said, eyes lighting up at the idea of seeing him again. She proceeded to play it cool "Oh that would be cool" A moment of silence. Chloe could have acted but suddenly her father came in. “Chloe, I'm here. What was the news you couldn't tell me over the phone?” "Dad!" she exclaimed, turning quickly with the piece of paper in her hand. For a moment she hesitated, but then she rushed forward, wordlessly handing him her acceptance. |

[Citadel] -Guillory Ship- Kay was lucky enough that she had probably packed a little too light. She had clothes and some other essentials, but not much else. Anything she wanted for fun she'd have to spend some money on. She smiled at Jimi, walking closer to him and giving him a playful bump with her shoulder. “Of course! I couldn't just let you go off into space without supervision,” she joked. “Life would be boring without you around anyway.” [Omega] -Docks- At this point, Windsong was getting grumpy. It was getting a little harder to hold her composure. “Like every other draiken,” she hissed. Lavo, instead, turned his head downward. His eyes were wide open, staring at the floor. “We were taken,” he finally said, his deep voice like an echo in a cave. Empty. His sister glared at him, but before she could stop him he continued. “We were kids. All of us. They came, they took us.” He positioned his head to face forward, toward the stranger. “We didn't join. We weren't given a choice.” |

[Citadel: The Cold Iron] Musashi could only shrug, as he leaned against the side of the ship and sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. “... It's just weird to learn there's other people out there in the same position as me, y'know?” Musashi rubbed his neck, trying to think of the best way to explain without saying too much. “My mom... she was a Jedi. My parents are gone now, but I just never met anyone else whose had a parent that was force-sensitive.” [Citadel: Covfefe Shop] Connor gave a jump when Sarai jumped to her feet and grabbed her knife. He quickly moved beside her, placing his hand on her shoulder and gently pushing her hand down. “Hey, you're safe, okay? Let's not... do the knife thing.” Connor winced, not liking the prospect of her stabbing someone. [Citadel: Hawkins' Ship] Rica paused, and then glanced over at Jason and Melanie. “Make sure Melanie makes it home. I'm not coming back to this junkyard, but next time I'll send some of my associates... they're a lot messier, so it's better for everyone if she gets home.” He glanced at Jacob and Galv, and then took Kanna's arm and quickly led her out of the junkyard, and to his car. Once they were inside he pressed a button on the side, sealing the windows and watched as a shield much like the type used by spaceships activated. It would be hard to hear them now. “I have a business opportunity for you Kanna. I want you to work directly for the Shadow Broker. It's the chance of a lifetime, and I already know how skilled you are.” [Citadel: Snake's Basement] Snake could only give a grim chuckle. Dangerous missions that had many lives on the line were his specialty – but he never enjoyed them. He'd seen too many times what nightmarish things happened in the world... “I'm in. When and where?” Snake asked. [Omega: Afterlife] “So long, loser!” Vegeta called out at Goku as he turned and hurried off beside Nappa – but inside he was almost impressed. That Saiyan, although clearly low class, had a lot of raw power. Not enough to match the Prince of All Saiyans – but enough that it gave Vegeta pause. Just who was this Goku? |

[Citadel: Covfefe Shop] “Hey, you're safe, okay? Let's not... do the knife thing.” Sarai stiffened at Connor's hand but calmed down, dropping the knife to the floor with a loud clank. She gave a tiny sigh and turned to him "S-Sorry, I guess i'm just on edge- my dad...His associates, they're bad...And could be anywhere. If they did want to come I want to be able help protect you both, it's the least I can do." The girl reached down, picking up the knife once more, but holding it limply in her hands. "Ironically, my dad gave me this to protect me from the men he worked with" [Citadel: Hawkins' Ship] “Make sure Melanie makes it home. I'm not coming back to this junkyard, but next time I'll send some of my associates... they're a lot messier, so it's better for everyone if she gets home.” Jason groaned but gave the man a nod. He didn't like the guy, but he did trust him to keep his mother from dying. He kind of wanted to know what was up, but he'd prefer keeping Melanie safe over following. Kanna was pulled into the car and instantly raised it's defenses. She raised a brow but made no move to try and leave. "I'm glad you're not some homicidal creep who likes to trap pretty women in their cars" Kanna noted with a slight grin. “I have a business opportunity for you Kanna. I want you to work directly for the Shadow Broker. It's the chance of a lifetime, and I already know how skilled you are.” "So this really is business then" Kanna said, leaning back a bit. "Shadow Broker.....What does he want and how much does he pay?" |

-The Citadel- Docks The Cold Iron Edda smiled, giving Chloe another kiss himself before he pulled back. “You may be surprised,” Edda said, “I haven't managed to beat Paul in a fight myself... at least when he uses his powers.” He paused for a moment, then bent down and suddenly picked Chloe up, grinning brightly at her. “But what about you, what have you been up to? Any interesting bounties?” Edda asked. “Oh...” Hammah said, then frowned at himself. “I'm... sorry to hear that... I never knew my mom, myself... My dad says she died not long after I was born, and Jimi's only a little bit older then me, so he never knew her either...” He paused for a moment, “...Are you Force sensitive too? I know that isn't always passed on, Jimi's not...” Guillory Ship Jimi smiled, nodding to Kay as he turned around to head out. “We've been in space more then you though.” He grinned still, then paused as he thought. “Do we need anything else before we set off?” Hawkins' Ship Galv sighed as he watched Kanna and Rica leave, Jacob turning to his robot and saying a couple commands, the machine hiding among some debris again, concealing itself. He looked to Jason now, rubbing the back of his head. “...Are we going to be okay?” Galv asked Melanie's older brother. -Omega- Docks The man was quiet for another long moment, then sighed. “...The Empire does that to a lot of people... doesn't give them a choice,” the man said, “Fine then... if you tell the Empire about me... I will find you. But I'll give you that choice.” Afterlife Nappa grinned as he ran off, Bulma in tow who was still yelling. “Should we chase after them, boss?” a krogan asked Aria, who scowled. “Later... I'll want to call in some experts,” Aria growled. “Someone get this place cleaned up!” “What should we do about this guy?” a human asked, pointing his gun at the unconscious Goku. “...Get him locked up. He might be of use...” Aria ordered. -T.A.R.D.I.S.- “We're still working out a few things, maybe looking for more help, but we'll be at the Citadel soon,” Jenny answered. “Could meet up in the Wards?” -Flashback- Ethan took the paper, reading it over, his face impassive until he got to the end. “I'm... proud of you, Chloe,” Ethan said, smiling now and pulling Chloe into a hug. “You got in with your mind, not your strength, and that's important. But if you do feel like the military doesn't work out for you... I will be here for you. You know I'd prefer you to go to school some more, but I'm sure you'll be great with anything you do.” |

-The Citadel- Docks With a yelp Chloe was lifted up, the woman gave a little yelp, clinging to Edda's shoulder to keep him from dropping her. She knew he never would, but when you're short you take precautions. “But what about you, what have you been up to? Any interesting bounties?” Chloe stopped and thought for a moment. "Mostly just a bunch of pissed off sketchy people who wanted us to nab other pissed off sketchy people. We did get a smuggler last month. Snatching up pretty girls for god knows what- punching out that d-bag felt reeeeeal good. Of course now we've moved onto missing dads and jedi temples" Hawkins' Ship "Don't worry about them, they're smart enough to stay away now that they've seen what your gradad can do" Jason said, convincing himself just as much as he was convincing them. He then looked to Melanie. "We should get you back to the base Mel, you're too young to be off on your own too long" "I'm not young?" "Inexperienced then. You're barely out of being a cadet." -Flashback- Chloe felt herself being pulled into a hug, the girl relaxing now that she was sure her father wasn't upset. You got in with your mind, not your strength, and that's important. But if you do feel like the military doesn't work out for you... I will be here for you. You know I'd prefer you to go to school some more, but I'm sure you'll be great with anything you do.” "Thanks dad, i'm excited to do something good, help people...." [....] Chloe had been excited to be in the military, excited to help people and make her parents proud. She was a great cadet; tough, unflinching and obedient, a complete 360 from her childhood and teen years. She even got through basic training and the academy without ever needing to tell anyone of her powers. She made friends (her closest a Japanese young man who kept giving oogily eyes to every female cadet but her) and was highly regarded as one of the best students in her class. Her next year as a Lieutenant went similarly...Until her first slip that she was different. A bit too much strength used during an exercise. She swore her commanders had seen her display of power, but no one seemed to say anything or pay it any mind. She cautiously continued, swearing that she'd show more control. A few weeks later there was an emergency, a fellow soldier stuck underneath a piece of fallen equipment. Without thinking she jumped in to help, displaying her strength a second time as she lifted a piece of steal five times her weight without breaking a sweat. This time she knew she couldn't just play it off and hope no one noticed. And as expected her higher ups came to her. They asked her to join a team. Use her strength to enforce the military's will on citizens. She was just the muscle they needed, after all they couldn't just go around shooting every misbehaving citizen they saw- but they could break a few bones- Chloe refused, she wanted to continue to be an engineer. And she definitely didn't want to be the military's muscle. They weren't pleased. Ultimatums were made. Threats on her career. She didn't budge, trying to do the right thing. So here she was, two years after leaving home, all of her possessions in a ratty duffle bag and no uniform to show her years of service....Instead she wore an oversized sweatshirt and ripped jeans, her short hair wet from the miserable drizzle of the last few hours. She tried not to look upset but she was devastated. She really didn't want to see her dad yet. He was going to be just as disappointed. So she went to find Edda. [Citadel: Covfefe Shop] Connor stared at Sarai and felt terrible for her. While his own parents hadn't always run with a good crowd, they had at least tried to keep their children out of that life. Even Moira had gone to great lengths to shield Connor from that world, and he had some idea of what that had cost her. He was suddenly all the more grateful for his family – and all the more angry at Sarai's for pushing her towards this. He reached out and hugged her from the side. “I'm so sorry for what you've been through.” [Citadel: Rica's Car] “Oh please, you know I never kill anyone unless I'm getting paid.” Rica chuckled as he leaned back and watched Kanna from behind his sunglasses. He knew she was perfect for this kind of job. She was cut from the same twisted cloth he was. “The Shadow Broker sells information, mostly. To anyone. Alliance, Empire, criminal – it's all the same as long as they can pay. The Broker has a vast network of agents, and access to a lot of money and tech. Only thing is, nobody ever meets the Broker face to face. Instead they talk to his agents... like me.” Rica's smirk grew. “With your skills, I'm sure you'd be helpful to us.” [Citadel: The Cold Iron] Musashi nodded slightly, visibly uncomfortable. “I barely remember my parents. My dad was part of the Corporate Syndicate, back before they became the Empire... he resisted when the Empire formed, so they killed him. My mom too. She was the apprentice of a Jedi who protected my dad. They all died...” Musashi sighed again. “I don't tell many people. Chloe knows, and Shiori... but that's about it. But I figure you're in a similar boat, so... I should tell you.” [Citadel: Snake's Basement] “I'll be there.” Snake replied, and he paused. “... Wait, you said 'we're'?” He could only assume who the other part of the 'we' was. “... Is The Doctor with you?” Snake asked, quietly. [Omega: Docks] Soon enough, Vegeta and Nappa would be back at the docks. He turned towards Nappa after making sure they hadn't been followed. “Well that went better than I expected... now! Woman! Who was that Saiyan with you?” |
