[The Citadel]

In the heart of Alliance space floated the Citadel, an enormous structure comprised of five interconnected platforms, each nearly twenty-eight miles long. A gigantic floating city in space that served as the hub of the Alliance. Homes, businesses, the heart of the military – all in one place, where every species belonging to the Alliance can find solace.

[Alliance Military Base]

In one of the many blocks of the space-aged urban jungle sat one of the largest Alliance Military bases there was. Soldiers, medics, engineers and officers hurried about, always moving with a sense of urgency inside those walls, as news from the front with the Empire came in on a near constant basis.

“Damn it! If this gets out...”

In the office of Admiral Hackett, a tense meeting was taking place. Steven Hackett, David Anderson and Donnel Udina sat in the poorly-lit office, and none of them seemed happy.

“Toxic Sky was a necessary evil.” Udina shook his head. “At the time, it made sense.”

“And now, if it becomes public knowledge, it will doom this Alliance.” Anderson rebutted, not bothering to hide the tone in his voice. “What do we know about this hacker?”

“Only that he goes by the name 'C'.” Hackett shook his head. “But let's be clear here gentlemen; finding this hacker is our new top priority. No one must ever know the truth about Toxic Skies.”

Anderson nodded. “I'll send Shepard. If anyone can find the hacker-”

“Is that wise? Shepard's crew is partly alien.” Udina cut him off.

“This is what the Specter program exists for.” Anderson snapped back. “Shepard will get it done. I can assure you.”

[…]

In one of the many corridors of the base, a young medic walked down the hall with a pile of books under his arm and his head down. Connor sighed a bit as he ducked into one of the seldom used rooms and sat his things down. He had joined the military to help become a doctor, but now spent most of his days drowning in paperwork.

[Flux]

In one of the busier wards of the Citadel stands the popular nightclub Flux. It quickly gained a reputation, not just among the work-weary party goers, but among mercenaries and freelancers. Anyone looking for a job on the shadier side of things could find it here. Some came for the party – others came for the prospect of work.

One man sitting at a booth in the corner was here for both. Musashi sighed as he sat back and sipped on his drink, staring around the room. His heart said he wanted to be looking for a girl – but his rapidly emptying wallet told him he should instead be focused on finding a new source of income.

“Where the heck is Chloe?” Musashi mumbled to himself as he looked around for one of his best friends and bounty hunting partner.

[The Executor]

A massive, eleven-mile long ship cut through the inky blackness of space. Surrounded on all sides by the smaller Star Destroyers, the Executor brimmed with light like the floating military base it was. The symbol of the Empire's militaristic mindset and flagship of their infamous Death Squadron.

Within the heart of the ship lurked something even more terrifying. In one of the innermost chambers of his massive ship, a dark figure knelt before a holographic projector. A raspy breathing was the only sound in the room, as the massive blue hologram turned to the head of Emperor.

“What is thy bidding, my master?”

The cold, nearly mechanical voice spoke from the kneeling figure.

“An opportunity has presented itself my friend. I feel it in the Force. The key to tearing the Alliance apart has just been made known.” The hologram spoke simply. “There is a hacker who has uncovered the Alliance's greatest secret. You must find this hacker and use the secret to destroy them.”

“It shall be done, master.”

The hologram disappeared, and the figure rose to his mechanical feet. The Dark Lord of the Sith quickly slipped out of the room and sent the order to his ship – giving them the order.

Lord Vader was on the hunt.

I can't see what you're imagining
-The Citadel-

A blond haired young man hummed softly to himself, purchasing a few things from a few shops, walking around the Citadel happily.

Edda Adwr had managed to get some nice stuff from the Empire when he raided that facility...

Flux

“It's loud here,” a different blond haired young man said, Hammah sighing as he laid his head on the table, his brother rolling his eyes.

“It's fine. We'll take a break here, then we'll see if we can follow up on any leads about Dad, okay?” Jimi said, “You should relax more.”

“I guess...” Hammah said, sitting up now, “Has Eddie found out anything?”

“Give him time, we just got to the Citadel yesterday,” Jimi said.

-Omega-

A somewhat lawless asteroid, almost the anthesis to the Citadel, where several species met and dealt with less then savory deals. It was rumored you even got Empire and Alliance folks intermingling on this lawless former mining facility.

“Must we come here, Comrade Shadow?” a somewhat squat robot said, following behind a black and red humanoid hedgehog, “I will think others are attempting to communicate with me.”

“It'll be fine, Omega,” Shadow sighed, “We need supplies, and this place has them. Besides, we can handle anyone trying any kind of funny business.”

Afterlife

A red haired young woman sighed, staring at her drink and looking over to her partner/captain.

“You know I hate this place, Haruka,” Lily said, “Next time, I get to chose what we do on our date.”

Shopping District

“Hey! Hold still.”

A young woman with reddish-purple hair up in twintails suddenly rushed up beside Edda. She paused, staring at him and tapping the corner of her glasses. Unknown to anyone else, her glasses flashed to life as a tiny but powerful computer scanned Edda's face.

“Uh huh... uh huh... Bingo!”

The woman grinned brightly at Edda. “Sooo, I'm super sorry to ruin your day, but you've got a sizable bounty on your head so I'm going to need you to come with me, okay?”

[The Executor]

After issuing orders to the admiral who piloted the ship and the fleet that followed it, Vader soon found himself seemingly alone in one of the dark training rooms aboard the ship. The lights were off as he entered, but he knew that there was someone waiting within the room.

“It is time, my apprentice, for a test of your abilities.”

[Omega]

Afterlife

The Afterlife club – a nightclub themed heavily on the notion of hell – was a wash in flame designs and partying criminals. Omega was known as one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy for good reason. Only the dangerous and crazy ever came here.

“Aw come on Lils, this place is great!” Haruka turned towards Lily as she listened to the redhead complain. “It's got atmosphere, and at least one gun fight a night! This is exactly the kind of place that gets my blood going!”

Flux

"Buy me a drink tall dark and handsome?"

A tan-skinned young woman appeared at the booth, sliding in beside Musashi before pulling out a rather impressive looking wad of cash, enough to at least buy themselves drinks for the night. She was short, petite and rather unthreatening at first glance, but Musashi was sure to know differently. Rather than the usual tight tops and short dresses that most of the other woman at Flux wore Chloe instead preferred practicality...Which meant an old military jacket and a pair of slightly ripped jeans...She looked more like a mechanic than an attractive club goer.

Chloe patted her best friend on her shoulder "I know it must be killing you to not go over and flirt with all those girls- oh especially her- she's pretty...But i'm proud of you Musashi! Here-"

She then handed him half of the wad of cash she had been carrying. "I found it on the dancefloor. It's what took me so long!"

Found. Stole. You know, same difference.

[Alliance Military Base]

"Are you sure about this? I mean stealing from the military- it seems really unnecessarily risky...And anyways aren't we technically stealing from the good guys?"

A young man and woman stood outside the Alliance Military Base, neither having the correct credentials to get in. Of course that wasn't going to stop them especially considering how many rare and valuable weapons lied inside. The man was tall and dark skinned, his hair a bit messy and a pair of glasses perched at the tip of his nose. He looked pretty confident at the moment...

The girl, much shorter and at least a couple years younger was not nearly as excited. She knew the drill, she was the distraction...She ALWAYS was.. Whether it meant pretending to faint at a jewelry store so her brothers could steal without anyone noticing or preoccupying a security guard with ridiculously dumb questions so they could slip into private area without notice and grab some cash. In all truth is was exhausting AND super stressful- but she really didn't have much of a choice. You can't pick your family after all.

"So how am I suposed to get in there anyways? And then what?" Sarai asked, looking around nervously.

Her eldest brother Kaylan shrugged. "Well you're a girl. Use your girlish charms to get in. There's a lot of soldiers out here who are more than willing to bring a pretty girl into the barracks-"

Instantly Sarai's cheeks and nose went red "To do what?"

"Use your imagination." Kaylan said deadpan. He backtracked a bit when he noticed his sister going a bit pale. "Just don't let it get that far! As soon as your in make an excuse to go to the bathroom or something and then get to work on disabling the armory's security. We'll handle it from there"

"You make this sound a million times easier than it is...." Sarai mumbled, rubbing at her warm cheeks.

"It's nothing. Just be safe and give us a call when your in"

Sarai nodded, handing her eldest brother her coat so that she was now wearing a rather cute sundress. With a sigh she headed off on her own, looking around trying to spot a dumb and harmless looking soldier...Probably a rookie so she didn't get killed or locked in a basement.

[....]

"You know, most cadets would be honored to have me as their teacher"

"Yeah, but most cadets aren't your little sister...."

Another brother and sister duo walked the halls of a training facility on the military base, this one much more innocent. In fact, the young man was one of the best pilots and gunners in the military, having fought in several dangerous battles in his short time in the military. The younger girl was not quite as seasoned, in fact she was only just out of the academy.

Jason grinned, moving to ruffle his sister's hair. "Trust me, you'll love flying! And i'm sure you'll be good at it! I mean you passed all the simulations"

Melanie wrinkled her nose but didn't stop him. "Just barely. And I accidentally shot down a fleet of our own fighters on my first go-"

"Ehhhhh it was just a knee-jerk reaction, and a simulation at that! You'll get better reflexes when your actually in a fighter of your own" Jason reasoned

"A whole fleet Jason, that's a hell of a knee jerk" Melanie groaned.

Musashi raised an eyebrow as Chloe appeared, as always dancing to the beat of her own drum and dressing unlike anyone else in the club. His eyes drifted to the massive wad of cash and he frowned, wondering just what she had done to get that – and he had a feeling it was 'steal'.

“You found it, huh? Where in someone's wallet?” Musashi shrugged. He had never been a huge fan of following the rules anyway. “But I am glad you got it. We're low on funds, and I hate to say it but even this isn't going to cover it... at least not past tonight.”

He grinned. “Still, nice job.”

[Alliance Military Base]

Connor groaned and put his face down in one of the books he was reading. There were so many rules and regulations that he wasn't sure he'd ever remember them all. He sighed, standing up and closing the book as he rubbed the brim of his nose.

This part of the job wasn't very fun. He walked out the door and started down the hallway, his hands in his pockets. He just happened to walk right beside a girl wearing a sundress – and he paused, turning his head towards her.

“Um... are you supposed to be here?” Connor asked. He wasn't used to people out of uniform around here.

"Aw come on Hammah, this is supposed to be fun!" a girl shouted, sitting herself at the table. Kay had been with Jimi and Hammah along for their journey for some time and even she was getting exhausted. A break at Flux felt like just the thing she needed, and she believed the boys needed it too.

"I have a little money on me, but it'd be enough for drinks or something. What do y'all think?"

[Omega]

Two draconic figures walked along the street. One was green-scaled and had crimson hair, while the other was orange and had sky-blue hair. They both wore intimidating light armor, but had their spiky helmets in their arms. Aside from that, their large wings were also uncovered, but folded at their sides as to not take up space.

"Why are we here?" the tall, green one asked. His voice was deep and quiet.

"Lavo, for once we're able to get out and you question why?" the other answered. Her voice was higher than her older brother's, but only enough for one to assume she was female.

"I just don't like this place, Windsong," Lavo grunted. "Makes my spine cold and my wings restless."

The two continued walking, conversing quietly to each other.

Edda paused as this strange girl appeared, taking a small step back.

“Sooo, I'm super sorry to ruin your day, but you've got a sizable bounty on your head so I'm going to need you to come with me, okay?”

“I have no idea what you're talking about,” Edda lied, slowly reaching down to something on his hip.

Flux

“Drinks sound great,” Jimi said to Kxs, smiling, “But I have some money as well here...”

“We're going to need more if we're gonna find Dad...” Hammah said, “And no, we're not using Eddie to... acquire more.”

“Hey, I never suggested we should!” Jimi said defensively.

-The Executor-

Starkiller took a deep breath, sitting in the dark room, nothing in it but himself, and now Vader.

“Yes Master. What is your bidding?” Starkiller asked, getting up slightly, though still kneeling before the Lord of the Sith.

-Omega-

Afterlife

Lily sighed, taking a long drink then turned back towards Haruka, “Just as long as you don't start it this time. I had to zap way too many people last time. I don't have the same raw power as my brother...”

She then got up, holding out her hand to Haruka. “How about a dance then?”

Streets

Shadow paused, seeing a couple tall, draconic figures in the streets, stepping to the side and indicating Omega should do as well.

“What is wrong, Comrade Shadow?” Omega asked.

“...I spotted a couple Empire people... may be tracking us...” Shadow said quietly, frowning.

-Alliance Military Base-

There was an explosion, electricity sparking dangerously for a moment before it seemed to die down.

“Okay... that didn't work,” a red headed mechanic sighed, looking over some spare parts, “Can't get more thrust if it explodes... well I guess you can, but it'd be short lived...”

Kay giggled. She looked to Jimi. "You hold on to that, I just want to treat us to something fun. I'm sure you'll need that money for something important along the line."

She stood up. "I'll go get those drinks," she said. She made her way quickly to the bar, an excited grin on her face.

[Omega]
-Streets-

Windsong hummed. "I was hoping we could stall out the mission a little bit, you know? Get some fresh air, a new environment, something!"

"Alright, alright, keep your voice down," Lavo whispered. "Fine. But if I see them, I'm getting it done. I'll let you have your fun, but I don't want to be on this asteroid too long."

"Are you worried about getting in trouble?" his little sister asked playfully.

"Yes." Lavo frowned.

Windsong rolled her blue, reptilian eyes. "Alright, let's just go." She put her helmet on and waited for Lavo to do the same before they walked forward. Neither of them noticed they had walked right by Shadow and Omega, their targets.

From behind his mask, Vader peered down at Starkiller. The boy had proven to be incredibly powerful, and thus far – absolutely loyal. Yet Vader knew that loyalty must always be tested and reinforced. He watched for a moment before his cold, mechanical voice spoke out with his orders.

“The Emperor has given me orders, and I have orders for you as well. Someone has hacked the Alliance and discovered their secrets – and I want this person brought to me. You will go to Omega. There are many people within the criminal underworld there, discover what you can. This hacker will be on the run and it is imperative that we find them first.”

He slowly turned for the door, but stopped. “... As always, you will do this in secret. If anyone gets in your way, show them the power of the Dark Side.”

“I wouldn't do whatever it is you're trying to do.” The woman smirked, noticing the way Edda's hand move and she raised her wrist and aimed a device mounted on it directly at Edda. “It's an Imperial bounty, those guys don't care what condition you're in. I don't want to hurt you, but if you try to resist...”

Kagura was still speaking in a sing-song voice.

[Omega]

Afterlife

Haruka pouted for a moment – until Lily mentioned the idea of a dance. Haruka took her hand and hopped up from the booth, once again grinning in a slightly insane way. “Okay fine, that's fun too.”

“You found it, huh? Where in someone's wallet?”

"Would it make you feel better if I told you the guy I stole it from was being a totally creep to some pretty girl on the dance floor?" Chloe asked, stuffing the rest of her money in her jacket. "Think of me as the Robin Hood of the club; stealing from the rich douchebags and giving to the less fortunate- i.e you and me!"

But I am glad you got it. We're low on funds, and I hate to say it but even this isn't going to cover it... at least not past tonight.”

Chloe gave a small frown but shrugged "So we need a job then? Okay, that won't be too hard, surely there's some rich guys in this place with some enemies. We'll catch them no problem!"

Chloe was still relatively new to this whole bounty-hunting thing. Up until a few months ago Chloe was a mechanic in the Alliance military. She had been doing qite well until suddenly getting kicked out. She wouldn't discuss why, but quickly decided to go into the bounty hunting business to keep from having to return home with her tail between her legs.

[Alliance Military Base]

Sarai was still mentally plotting her course of action when a young man called her attention. Instantly she stiffened and turned, trying not to seem too nervous.

“Um... are you supposed to be here?”

"O-Oh! Um....No, not really" she admitted, trying not to stutter to badly. "I'm actually here- ummmm- waiting for my father. Ummmmm Jones! Commander Jones..."

Jones was a common name right?...There was ALWAYS a Jones, especially in a place this big.

"H-He asked me to come so he could take me to lunch, but I fear I may be in the wrong building...He works in the security bay and i've been wandering around here like an idiot...."

[...]

"Okay Mel, pick your new best friend!"

Jason had lead Melanie into the hanger bay where several massive fighters sat. In all truth Melanie was caught off guard with just how big they were...But she was also a bit amazed that she would be driving one.

Of course that meant she also had to focus on not crashing it and killing herself and everyone else around her.

"I just get to pick one?" Melanie asked, brow raised.

Jason shrugged. "Pretty much. We'll still have to fit you for it properly and customize a few things- but that's a job for our mechanics!"

Melanie nodded, looking around and suddenly pointing at the smallest of fighters. In the grand scheme of things it was still pretty massive "How about that one? It looks like I could fit it okay? And i'd be less of a target if I was flying something small"

Jason grinned "Good gut choice, i'll page a mechanic and we'll see if we can get you in there and ready to fly"

Melanie paled "R-Right now?"

"No time like the present!" Jason exclaimed, calling any available mechanic.

“Well if you're going to steal, steal from a smurf.” Musashi nodded in approval. He wasn't about to chastise Chloe for her sticky fingers; sometimes a life without a 'real' job meant doing what you had to to get by. It was a life Musashi was quite accustomed to, having been a penniless orphan since the age of five.

“If there's two things the Citadel has a lot of – besides soldiers and politicians – it's people with problems and money.” Musashi grinned. “All we have to do is fine the right one and we'll be on easy street.”

[Alliance Military Base]

Connor's eyebrow instinctively raised as he watched this girl stutter and fidget. She was clearly nervous, but that could just be because she was in a massive military base – the kind of thing that could easily be intimidating for those not used to it. Connor still remembered when he was new here...

Besides, what kind of a moron would break into a place filled with armed soldiers?

He paused for a moment before offering her a half-smile. “I don't really know anyone in the security bay, but I can walk you over there and help you find him.”

"Leave it to me miho! Come on, follow me!" Chloe exclaimed, grabbing the man and pulling him towards the bar without much problem. She looked around for a few moments, tapping her chin a few times before perking up. She pointed at a man at the bar who looked like he was drowning himself in his sixth drink. "Well dressed and a very expensive watch means he has the cash, the fact that he's on his seventh drink means he has a problem" she observed, slipping into the seat next to him.

"Evening! Buy me a drink?" she greeted "And then maybe we can talk, looks like you have a problem that me and my associate can fix!"

The man eyed Chloe up and down and downed his current drink "Little boys shouldn't be playin' around a place like this? Where's you momma kid?"

Chloe twitched in annoyance "Little.....Boy? I'm a girl you blind dingbat!"

The man hiccuped "You're a girl?"

"YES! A very pretty one mind you!"

"You look like a boy. And how are you and your associate gonna help me?" He then looked at Musashi and a realization came upon "OHHHH are you two one of THOSE services! You know pretty girl and her handler! Look toots you're not nearly cute enough to make me feel anything-"

Suddenly Chloe grabbed the man's collar, tossing him over the bar with a mighty heave. "EW YOU DUMBASS, and I AM gorgeous so you can just SUCK IT"

Yeaaaaaah. Chloe wasn't that awesome at this.

[Alliance Military Base]

Sarai smiled and nodded, relief hitting her. Her luck could have been MUCH worse, in fact this man looked rather nice. "T-That would be wonderful, thank you!"

She then held her hand out. "My name is Sarai, it's very nice to meet you"

Jimi nodded, turning to Hammah who was looking up now, glancing around the bar.

Then they heard yelling, someone throwing someone else over the bar.

“That wasn't Kxs, was it?” Jimi wondered, looking concerned now.

“No... But I'll check it out,” Hammah said, getting up and heading towards where the commotion was coming from...

Shopping Center

“So you're tracking an Imperial bounty here on the Alliance Citadel?” Edda asked, remaining calm, “What's to stop me for yelling for C-Sec?”

He moved his feet carefully, getting ready to make a move in case this girl tried something.

Shadow took a deep breath, steadying himself as the two reptilian aliens passed by them.

“Okay, they're past, now let's-” Shadow began, Omega stepping forward now, smashing one metal fist into the other.

“Imperial scum, you can not defeat Omega!” Omega declared at Lavo and Windsong.

“...Damnit Omega...” Shadow sighed, shaking his head.

Galv was puzzling over his technical issue when he heard the call for any available engineers. He got up, gathering his tools and heading over to the hangar bay, knowing he was the available engineer right now.

He stepped into the hangar bay and walked over to two figures, freezing for a moment when he saw one of them, staring at Melanie for probably a moment longer then would be socially acceptable.

“Ummm... H-hi there,” Galv said, shaking his head and then holding out his hand to Melanie, “Name's Galv Hawkins, I'm the mechanic on duty right now. What... How... can I help you?”

He was, unintentionally, completely ignoring Jason.

This place... it certainly was a strange one. A gigantic city floating through space... It had a bright blue sky, though, but this did not 'feel' like any planet. To the purple and blue haired young woman walking along one of the walkways, this actually bugged her more than it would most others. But she'd just have to deal with it while she was here. It wasn't like she could just demand to be brought to a random planet.

Technically, the woman supposed, she may not even have been supposed to leave the place she was brought to on the Citadel, yet... She needed to get out and walk around. Plus she wanted some fresh fruit.

So now she was walking towards what she assumed was an area where there might be a market. Many people seemed to be carrying bags full of various goods, so... this had to be the correct direction, even if she couldn't find what she was looking for.

The woman noticed a couple stopped, having a discussion in front of one of the shops, however, and calmly tried to ask them a question.

"Umm, could either of you two help me?" the woman stepped towards the blonde young man and twin tailed girl having a discussion of their own, "Do either of you know where a store where I could buy fresh fruit may be?"

“Chloe wai-”

Musashi was, as always, too late to stop what was happening. The man at the bar had mistaken Chloe for a boy and then for a prostitute and neither had endeared him to her. In a quick motion she had thrown him over the bar and started screaming, leaving Musashi to shake his head.

“Chloe! Come on! We won't make a dime doing this and also we'll get arrested!” Musashi had to pull her away from the poor drunken idiot before she smashed him like a pancake. “Come on, let's try somewhere else – and maybe I'll do the talking!”

Alliance Military Base

“I'm Connor – I mean, Lieutenant Jackson.” Connor shook her hand and gave a smile. He was feeling a little nervous himself, but tried to ignore that and simply be professional... though for some reason he suddenly forgot everything they had taught him in training.

“Um, so, the security bay is this way.” He rubbed his neck. “Come on, I'll take you there.”

Shopping Center

“I mean, yeah that's a good point.” Kagura admitted, still as whimsical and friendly as she had been the entire time. “But... it doesn't change the fact that I was told to catch you and you're here so... you know?”

She was just about to answer his question of 'what would stop him' with one of her poison darts, when suddenly a woman approached them and started asking for help. Kagura frowned suddenly, wondering if this strange girl could be some accomplice of her bounty's.

“Fruit?” Kagura tilted her head. “Um... I really don't know... sorry...”

Streets

'Imperial'?

A figure dressed in a heavy cloak stopped in his tracks when Omega yeleld about Imperials. He turned his head to see a Hedgehog, a strange robot and two dragon creatures – and his eyebrow raised once more. None of them immediately looked like the kind of Imperials he was used to... but he would keep an eye on this all the same.

Afterlife

“Ugh.” Haruka immediately grimaced and made an over-exaggerated pout when Lily brought up Aria. “I can't stand working for that... wannabe badass. She thinks she's so tough just because she controls Omega! Pah!”

Haruka noticed a few eyebrows raise in her direction and she flashed one of her fingers at the onlookers before moving her hands back around Lily. “I mean... I guess we do need the money...”
