[Capitol Building] Nanami knew what Miyamoto was doing. He had tried before, and failed. He wanted her involved in the government in some way so he could use that as a selling point for his administration. There were plenty of people who viewed the new government with uneasy and skepticism – and most of those people remembered the rebels with fondness. Nanami glanced over her shoulder at her daughter, who was standing by the doorway and watching small snowflakes blow around in the palm of her hand. She sighed, and then turned back to Claire. “Fine, but let me very clear, I'm just looking at some files. That's all.” [Party] “My name is Lucy Davenport. I represent certain economic interests within Panem.” The woman introduced herself, her eyes slowly darting back and forth between the three. “There is, of course, no need for your introductions. I have a proposal I must discuss with you, one I think you will all find quite appealing.” [Jackson Residence] Connor shook his head. The last thing he needed was another grand adventure. Some dangerous woman in New Vegas was an invitation for trouble. “We run a clinic. We help deliver babies and take care of the sick and elderly. We're not interested in some fight. Frankly I'm surprised you'd need our help, I'd think a man like you would have people far better at this kind of thing.” Connor replied, trying to be polite but now very desperate to get Castor out of his house. [Flashback] “I'm happy for us.” Connor told her as he softly rubbed her back. “We're going to have a family – a happy one, and we'll be able to live the kind of life we always talked about. The past is the past and we don't have to worry about it anymore.” He hoped. [Forty Two Years Ago] “I can,” Rin confirmed with a curt nod. “But there is no need for me to. The one talent the General has is blowing things up. I do not expect we will encounter anything too dangerous, as it is. Most people avoid the Divide.” She paused. “That said, I have my tricks. What of you?” |

[Party] So a woman who knew who they were and wanted to discuss a proposal that she believed they'd find appealing.... Kanna grabbed another glass of wine off of a passing server's tray, deciding she was going to need more booze... "What kind of proposal?" [Jackson Residence] "You underestimate your skill-set Connor. I have yet to find a healer as great as you, and trust me i've been looking." "We're not interested" Sarai reiterated Castor sighed "I implore you to think of your children. You may think you've found peace, but danger is never too far away. The are rumblings....Things are coming and a uprising may ruin this perfect little life you've set for yourself...Wouldn't you like to prevent that from happening? I can see that outline of a gun in your jacket Connor...If you felt 100% of the state of the world you wouldn't carry that around when answering the door" Touche. |

Panem -Sanchez Residence- Edda moved to Chloe and Liam, hugging them as well into a family hug, sighing softly. “It's okay... if we hadn't gone, you'd always be wondering 'what if,'” Edda said, “Now then... why we are in Panem, maybe we should visit Connor and Sarai?” “Ohhh, I can show Caitlin and Rue some of the stuff I got on our last trip!” Liam said, his eyes brightening up. -Restaurant- Galv grinned brightly, walking with Melanie over to his cycle, where he paused for a moment. “A hotel might be nice... nice to have some time to ourselves. We can practice our... dancing there,” Galv said. Thankfully he was not noticing the cues Melanie was taking from Kanna, or his brain would have shut down. -Capitol Building- “That's all I would ask of you,” Claire said to Nanami, nodding her head, “I can show you what I have now, if you want.” Claire glanced back into the hallway where Yukiko was as well. “...Have you told her anything about your father, by chance?” Claire asked. -Party- “Oh? I'm all ears,” Ethan said, actually interested, leaning forward. Forty-Two Years Ago -Enclave Building- Gallic opened up his mouth to say something, then shook his head. “I was about to say that outside Panem can be dangerous... but you are one of the last people I would need to warn about danger,” Gallic said, “Forgive me... I must have seemed like an idiot with my last question if I asked if you could fight. I try to avoid the Games when I can.” |

[Capitol Building] “No. I don't intend to either, at least as long as I can help it.” Nanami shook her head. While she had been the one to stand aside and let Gallic live, that didn't mean she had ever forgiven him. She remembered their final conversation well. She hated him. He had tried to convince her that he was a pawn in the Enclave's schemes and that everything he had done was, at the end of the day, for her. Over the last decade she looked back at that final conversation so many times, and wondered if he was actually being honest with her... … now that she was a parent, she felt less hostile than she did once. “She knows more than I want her to. That damn idiot always wants to tell the story about flying a tank into the Enclave building.” Nanami shook her head, and she let out a small sigh. “I know I can't keep it from her forever, but I want her to at least enjoy her childhood free from knowing...” [Party] Davenport smirked. Then she motioned for the three to follow her over to her table in the corner of the party. She reached into her purse and pulled out a folded up bit of paper, which she quickly unfurled to reveal a picture. “As I said, I work in the economic field. I manage several trade routes between Panem, New Vegas and the NCR. For that task we need security, a task that was always met by an associate of mine, a former military commander. A month ago my associate vanished for three days, and when he returned, he was... different.” Davenport shook her head. “My associate, George Mason, was in the Enclave's army before the change of leadership. A hard-ass, but dependable. Since his little mystery vacation, he's been doubling up security, stockpiling weapons and cutting me out of the loop of my own company.” “That's a shame, but what does any of this have to do with us?” Rica interrupted, hoping to cut to the chase. “I have contacts who were involved in the rebellion – and I remember you from the Games.” She stated with a slight smirk. “You're all extremely capable. I just need someone to investigate, ask a few questions, find out what's going on. You'll all be well compensated.” [Jackson Residence] Connor flinched. Castor had a point. He hated to even have the gun around his children – especially with Caitlin's love of all things dangerous – but he feared what could happen if any of the Enclave's old supporters came by. “... Castor, look, we need some time to think about this, okay?” [Forty Two Years Ago: Enclave Building] Rin turned back to him with a satisfied smirk on her face. “Ah, you remember that now, do you? I was wondering if you were familiar with my background.” She shook her head. “I have very little tolerance for stupid questions, but luckily for you Autumn is nearby and anyone looks smart when compared to that man.” |

-Streets- “It's okay... if we hadn't gone, you'd always be wondering 'what if,'” Edda was right. Despite being slightly enraged at her parents' behavior along with the dissapointment that they didn't even care to know their grandson she was glad they had gone. She wouldn't have to think about it anymore now...She could offically put her parents out of her mind and just focus on being a good mother herself. “Now then... why we are in Panem, maybe we should visit Connor and Sarai?” The young woman smiled, standing back up fully. It hd been quite some time since they had seen their best friends, the last time being several months prior when they were in town. Unlike Edda and Chloe, Connor and Sarai were more than content with just living a quiet life in one spot. They picked a spot they wouldn't be bothered and focused on raising their two daughters without any excitment- Which to Chloe was boooooooooooring. But she could understand it. Both Sarai and Connor had their own personal issues to work out, and because of their pasts preferred a life with 100% more safety and security. To her it was boring, but to them it was the best option. "I bet they'd be happy to see us" Chloe said, looking down to Liam "Not to mention it'll be nice for you to have someone your own age to play with for a bit" -Jackson Residence- Castor knew he hit a nerve with Connor- which was just what he wanted. The man gave a nod and a smile. "Of course my boy, please think about it. Gem and I will be staying in town for the night, but must leave first thing in the morning. We'll check back then" Castor then stood, looking to the woman beside him. "Come Gem, let's leave these too to...Think" Gem gave a nod, standing up as well. She then looked to Sarai, offering the woman a sincere smile. "Your family is beautiful" Sarai wavered a bit, unsure why she was so nervous all of a sudden. "T-Thank you..." And with that the two headed towards the door. -Party- "If you knew anything about us you'd know that none of us are the 'ask a few questions' type." Kanna said, brow raised. "That would be our children" She probably knew that. And was betting on their 'less questions more stabbing' methods. "So say we do 'ask a few questions' for you...What would the compensation look like?" Kanna added. |

Panem -Capitol Building- “Knowing that her grandfather was a flawed man, who tried to do what he could?” Claire asked, raising an eyebrow. She glanced around to make sure no one else was listening in, then continued. “My ancestor, when the Flare hit, was a young boy, about ten years old. Don found him, trapped, and being used as bait by someone who was killing anyone who got close and stealing their supplies. Don could have left him... but he fought the ambusher and killed him, and rescued the kid, brought him to safety with him. That's why my family has always supported him. Because of that act. Don never told me about it, never told my own father, either. We passed it on ourselves,” Claire said quietly, “I know you have issues with your father still, and I would like to help if I can.” -Party- “I'm a little past my prime in knocking heads together,” Ethan said idly, to both Davenport and Kanna, “And I do have my own children to look after.” He was quiet for a moment, leaning back in his chair. “I could look at a few things for you. Papers, money trails. That would be more up my expertise.” -Streets- “Yay!” Liam smiled, happy to visit his friends, “Are we gonna go now?” “Well, we need to grab our stuff from the hotel room...” Edda said, “But we could rent a car to head over there, I suppose...” I hope Chloe knows how to drive because I feel like Edda does not. Forty-Two Years Ago -Enclave Building- “I do,” Gallic said simply, looking back over at Rin. So many questions floated to his mind about the Games, chief of which being what Rin thought of them. She seemed to be a supporter of the Enclave despite that, but... Later, when they were out of the Enclave, when perhaps they trusted each other a little more. He then smirked at Rin's description of Autumn, nodding, “I suppose I should be thankful for that small benefit of having Autumn near.” |

-Streets- "Sounds good to me! I'll be nice to suprise them, i'm sure they barely get any excitement without us around!" Unlike Sarai and Connor, Chloe and Edda had told their son Liam about many of the exciting adventures that they had been on before he was born. While Chloe promised to leave all the gorey stuff out she did enjoy curling up in bed and telling Liam bedtime stories about epic fights and the rebellion. Soon enough the three were on their way to Sarai and Connor's home...It really wouldn't take them very long. -Party- Kanna couldn't help but to nudge Ethan in the rib. "You're not suposed to agree so easily" she said quietly, cutting her eyes at the man. "Money first, offer second" -Flashback- Chloe remembered the first time Sarai had wrote her a letter excitedly expressing that she and Connor were expecting. The two had just got married and were just settling down when by surprise Sarai found herself pregnant. In all truth Chloe was surprised the girl had the guts to even sleep in the same room as her new husband, but she was happy all the same. Sarai and Connor were the best people she knew, so if anyone deserved a family it was them. The second time Chloe received a letter about Sarai expecting Chloe was also caught off guard. She knew the two have been trying for more than a year but she assumed the big man upstairs only wanted them to have one or something...Why mess with fate? Well apparently fate changed it's mind and Sarai was expecting again...Another little girl in fact...Poor miho has gonna be powerless against three women in the house. While the idea was cute Chloe didn't understand the appeal of children. They were small, needy and had a bad habit of throwing up at inconvenient times...They also hindered on people's ability to travel....And fight. Children needed to be looked after, cleaned up after and generally kept alive. All of which sounded horrible- Which made it all the more surprising that she was now penning a letter back to Sarai with her own special news....Ugh! A baby! How could Edda do this to her! Her once toned frame, once in tip top shape was now home to a little intruder. She could no longer fight, or drink or eat raw fish...Or any fun stuff. Why the hell did people do this to themselves? Panem -Party- “I didn't say I agreed... I just said what I would be able to do,” Ethan said idly, leaning back in his chair, “If the expectation is the use of my strength, and not my mind, then no amount of money is going to persuade me.” Ethan never considered his inhuman strength to be his greatest gift, always considered his intellect to be so. -Streets- Edda remembered visiting Connor and Sarai before. He liked visiting them, counting them as good friends, just like he liked visiting Paul, who was Uncle Paul to Liam. And while Edda wasn't the kind to look for a home and stop moving around, he had to admit if he had to, he'd probably pick somewhere like Connor and Sarai did. Secluded, but not overly so, close enough to things that Chloe wouldn't get bored, and other kids around as well. “Hope they don't mind us dropping in... though they did know we were in the area...” Edda said, rubbing his chin. Flashback While Chloe was still annoyed at the thought of a child, Edda had been almost giddy at the prospect of being a father, though he was trying not to show it. “Chloe, I'm home! Got a lot of books from my mom about taking care of babies,” Edda called out as he walked into the apartment the two would use when in the NCR, carrying a box of various books and setting them down on the table. He looked over at Chloe, who was writing a letter. “Writing to Sarai?” he asked. |

-Streets- "Eh i'm sure they'll be fine, I mean when do they ever mind us dropping in?" Chloe said with a grin, half focusing on driving and half joking with Edda. Unlike her husband Chloe actually knew how to drive, and actually liked doing it quite a bit....Though still didn't change the fact the fact that she was sometimes quite easily distracted. "We should be there soon...Oh maybe we'll surprise them right around dinner- Sarai was always a good cook!" -Flashback- “Chloe, I'm home! Got a lot of books from my mom about taking care of babies,” Chloe looked up from her letter, giving Edda a weak smile before eying the books he dropped beside her on the table. "Uhhhh why does your mom still have these, you were a baby like a million years ago?" The girl picked one up, flipping through it quickly. "Why do I need a book anyways, won't the baby just pop out when he's ready?" Obviously Chloe didn't know (or care) about all the work that went into bringing a child into the world. “Writing to Sarai?” "Uh...Yeah, decided it was probably safe to tell her the news. Since i'm pretty sure the kid is here to stay" she answered, leaning back in her chair. She gave him a grin, but in all truth was exausted. She didn't even know why....Just everything made her tired now. It was very annoying. |

[Jackson Residence] Once Castor and Gem had left, Connor sighed and stood watching the closed door for several seconds as if he expected the strange man to return with one final request. Connor silently ran his hand through his hair, trying to gather his thoughts. He knew that they owed them – to some extent. Castor and Gem had helped them in the darkest time of their life, albeit in their own... unique way. Still, Connor was eternally grateful to them; and equally afraid of whatever it was they would get mixed up in. Slowly he turned to Sarai. “What do you think?” [Party] Davenport watched Ethan and Kanna for a moment with interest. She had a feeling she could goad the trio into doing what she wanted... which was necessary. “I'm just asking you to solve a few little mysteries and find out what's going on with my associates. I should hope you won't be busting any heads.” “It seems like you could go through legal channels.” Rica finally spoke up. “And yet you come to us; specifically us. So come on... what's the real scoop?” Davenport laughed. “Legal channels are slow and painfully blunt. That would tip off my associates and if they are up to no good, I may end up having a nasty little accident. I'd rather avoid that. I'm not asking you to kill anyone, or to get involved in any fighting. I just need objective, outside eyes to dig up a little dirt and let me know if my fears are founded. As for money...” Davenport smiled. “My shipping company is one of the most prominent in the Enclave. I can pay you whatever you want.” [42 Years Ago: Enclave Transport] Soon enough, Gallic and Rin were in one of three heavily armored transport vehicles that were now on envoy towards the Divide. Rin seemed slightly annoyed as she looked down over her tablet. “I do lament we can't simply take Vertibirds, but they're not the best for hauling cargo. These transport trucks will do much better when we actually find what we need – assuming we do.” Rin explained idly. She paused. There were several soldiers in the transport with them, although much to her relief Autumn was in a different vehicle. Still, Rin was reluctant to speak too openly in front of the soldiers who were loyal to him. [Capitol Building: Panem] “That's one way to look at him.” Nanami replied, her voice equally quiet with Claire's. “I know he's a more complex man than I used to believe, if I wasn't sure of that I would have killed him when I had the chance.” She shook her head. “But Gallic was involved in atrocities. I know he tried to minimize them and I know there was a lot he couldn't do when he might have wanted to... but we all have to live with the blood on our hands, Claire. I lost count of how many people I killed while I did what I was thought was right... but many of them were soldiers who had no choice but to enforce the Enclave's will.” Nanami ran her hand through her hair. “None of us are blameless, but Gallic and I have more blood on our hands than most. I don't know if either of us really deserve to be forgiven... but I believe Panem is better off now.” |

[Party] Kanna knew this was a bad idea, they really should have been mature adults who wanted to live in peace after years of hardship....But then Davenport said the magic words- “My shipping company is one of the most prominent in the Enclave. I can pay you whatever you want.” "Can't fight with whatever I want" Kanna said, finishing her glass of wine with a shrug before looking at both men at either side of her. "What do you guys think? Look like a scam to you, 'cause if not I could go for a little totally legit detective work" And by totally legit detective work she meant sitting around drinking cosmos while the men killed whoever this lasdy obviously wanted dead since she was coming to them. [Jackson Residence] As Castor and Gem walked outside they were followed by a very anxious Rue, frantically trying to stop them before they left. "Wait mister Castor!" Castor raised a brow but offered a smile. "What can I do for you little birdies?" Rue took a breath, trying not to look intimidated. "Why did you come here to see our mom and dad? What were you guys talking about?" Castor looked at Gem, a gleam in his eyes. "My dear, your parents are very important people, even if you didn't know before today. They were part of a revolution!" "What kind of revolution?" Rue asked. "The kind of revolution that change very life as you know it! It was really quite epic. But also very serious. A lot of people had to be killed along the way" "Killed?" Rue asked, now very wide-eyed. Obviously this was not something that two children needed to know about. That's why Castor kept talking. "Yes darling. Your parents killed quite a few people along the way- all for the greater good of course. And it started a very long time ago! Didn't your mother tell you how she got her tounge cut out?" [...] “What do you think?” Sarai was quiet for a moment, unable to compose just how much she didn't want to do this. Like Connor she knew she owed the two something for their help many years ago (though their help got them captured and Connor tortured by an insane woman with a ponytail if she remembered correctly) but she couldn't shake the feeling of utter doom that was consuming her. "I know what Castor said....Made some sense" she started, referring to Connor's gun "But we can't- I mean haven't we done enough? Aren't we done?" Suddenly there was a loud cry and Rue rushed into the kitchen, bawling into her mother's dress. Sarai was caught completely off guard but instantly grabbed the girl, leaning down to her level. "R-Rue! What's the matter?" she asked in a slight panic (as most mother's acted when their child rush in sobbing). Rue said nothing, instead continued to cry, confusing (and freaking out) Sarai. |

[Party] “This sort of thing would need to be kept on the hush-hush for now. Though... I imagine that you're not too keen to tell your co-workers about it either, Mr. Rica?” Davenport added. Rica was torn. He knew that whatever this was, it was dangerous and illegal and Lucy Davenport was not telling them even a fraction of the whole story. This whole thing could blow up and end with them in prison, or on the lamb... “I'm game.” He shrugged. He assumed if things went bad he could always have Davenport arrested. Besides, if this was some conspiracy, he should probably get involved. [Jackson Residence] Caitlin had naturally followed her sister outside, and she stood as mute as their mother had once been at the explanation. The idea that their parents had been part of some violent revolution – that they had killed people – it was shocking. She just couldn't imagine her parents ever hurting someone. As Castor spoke more, Caitlin silently shook her head in obvious horror. “N-No way...” […] As Rue ran back into the house, screaming and sobbing, Connor felt a terrible feeling in his gut. He left Rue in Sarai's care and bolted out the door – to where he found Castor, Gem and Caitlin. “What the hell did you do!?” Connor shouted, rage suddenly seething as he balled his fists and grabbed Castor's jacket. |

[Jackson Residence] Rue continued to sob and Sarai did everything in her power to calm the little girl down. The woman was utterly confused of why she was crying, but was determined to figure it out. "Love, calm down. Shhhhhh it's okay, i'm here. What's wrong?" Sarai asked softly, rubbing the little girl's back as she choaked back more sobs. After a few moments Rue finally gathered herself enough to speak. "M-Mister Castor-" Sarai felt slightly winded, no wonder Connor bolted from the room. "He didn't hurt you did he?" Sarai asked, very seriously. Beside the obvious meltdown the little girl seemed okay- Rue shook her head. "He said some stuff" Sarai felt goosebumps on her neck. "W-what kind of stuff?" Instead of immediately speaking Rue placed her hands on Sarai's cheeks "Open your mouth" she ordered in a tiny voice. "He said someone cut off your tounge" Sarai felt all the color drain out of her face. Despite her usual mousy nature she wanted to strangle the man who was now leaving their house. He had no right! And now poor Rue was traumatized. The woman moved forward, hugging Rue with all her might "Love, i'm okay. I'm fine. Your papa made me all better. I promise." she shakily explained. It didn't seem to make Rue feel any better. "W-Why would you kill s-someone anyway?" And now Sarai wanted to throw up. She grabbed Rue's hand, rushing out of the house after Connor. [...] “What the hell did you do!?” Instantly Connor grabbed Castor and Gem went for her gun at her side. She only paused when Castor brought his hand up and motioned to her. "Nothing that I didn't think you hadn't already done" Castor lied. "What kind of famous people don't even tell their children why they're famous? Darling children have the right to know who their parents are right? Why keep secrets if you're totally safe now?" "Castor is telling the truth" Gem spoke up suddenly. She was relatively calm considering the situation. "He was not aware the children did not know of your past. They asked him about it and he answered" |

[Jackson Residence] “You had no right!” Connor growled. He only reluctantly released his grip on Castor's jacket. He wasn't afraid of the gun Gem nearly went for – Connor had stared down the barrel of many guns in his past (and been shot by a few). No, he was more afraid of his children hearing a fight – and he knew they had learned enough about how things were. “I never wanted to be famous and I damn sure didn't want my girls knowing what happened.” Connor sighed, his eyes now lowering towards the ground. “They're children, and unlike when I was their age, children now can actually enjoy the world...” […] Caitlin followed behind in silence, watching her mother and sister with frightened eyes. It took a lot to scare the rambunctious child – but this was certainly doing it. |

Jackson Residence "As much as you wish you could it's foolish to think you can hide any of what you've done in the past from your children. Wouldn't you rather it come from you than by an old man like me by accident?" Castor said calmly, keeping his voice low. No need to scare the children any more than he had already. From her spot Sarai pulled Caitlin and Rue closer to her, staring down the man but saying nothing. Connor would handle this. "Your children are beautiful and seem very well-adjusted, but they are not safe." Gem spoke up, hand still hovering by her gun. "What would stop some insane man with a vendetta against you and your wife from coming to your house in the middle of the night and slitting your daughters' throats while you slept? If there is even one bit of uncertainty of your safety you must act-" "Now now Gem, let's not get dramatic" Castor said with a slight grin tugging at his lips. "We've done enough already. Let's go." The woman nodded and the two headed back towards the car. Before getting in Castor looked back. "We'll be checking back in soon. Please let us know then if you'll help Gem and I with our task. I assure that your help, however small, will be invaluable." And with that the two left, leaving Sarai and Connor with a very big mess to figure out. Sarai was (surprisingly) the first to speak up. "L-Let's go inside...We have a lot to talk about" |
