Yamaki wanted to argue, but he was on shaky ground. From what he knew of Nova’s team, they were supposed to be professionals. While it seemed odd to have them out here in full view of the cops – he did know the advantage of hiding in plain sight. SHIELD did it often.

“Fine… I’ll trust you for now, just stay off the NYPD’s radar if you can. There’s too many leaks in the department to have them get wind of anything important.”

[San Francisco: Alleyway]

“Can they?” Raven asked, disbelief in her voice. “No offense, but what you’ve seen tonight was only a tiny glimpse of the Cult of Blood. They can do a lot worse than an evil dagger and a couple of possessed idiots.”

[London: Diplomatic Building]

As Didymus neared the phone, he would notice something else – a gloved hand lying a few feet away. The glove resembled the kind worn by SHIELD agents – and it was obvious that it had once held the phone before it was removed from its owner.

Garnet covered her face at the grizzly sight.

When Didymus picked up the phone, he would hear a voice.

“Who the hell is this? Where’s Gomez?” The voice was a commanding one – but full of a certain grumpiness. It was also a voice Didymus would have heard before – every SHIELD Agent knew that voice.

And as always, Nick Fury sounded pissed.

Jagan's response was prompt, flat and snappy, but... The way it was delivered, the actual content, held menace that was not there before.

"The New York Poliece Department has inherent flaws within their structure, flaws it shares with almost every other police department in the world. These weaknesses are ripe for exploitation by those who know how to do so. It does not matter how many leaks there are in the department, or how many people are watching it. We do not leave a tangible trail that can be traced."

The young man in black turned to watch something only he seemed to see for a moment.

"... After this event, there will be nothing you could use to prove either I or my associates were here in any capacity. Of that, you can be certain."

However, he kept looking in that direction, eyes focused on a single figure flitting between vehicles. Whoever they were, they were very, very good at staying unnoticed. But Jagan was focused on observing at the moment, and very few things could keep themselves hidden from him when he was so intently watching and listening to his surroundings.

Who was that? Another agent from another company? They were not NYPD, otherwise they would have been here openly. Unlikely they were SHIELD either, for the same reasons. Approach was far too professional and stealthy for any average human, so that meant either another Meta or someone augmented. The movements and tactical path of the figure solidified them as a lone agent or someone with an external handler, but no physical backup in the area.

... He turned back to the bank, but kept that figure's sneaking path in the corner of his vision.

Now becomes the the past in an instant — and everyone will eventually die! Destiny triumphs over human knowledge and goes mad! That is the way of things! I spit upon this frail, crazed, world! I spit upon the Second Law of Thermodynamics!

Let them Label me! Let them swear and curse at me as I tug humanity like a bucking bull into the darkness of the unknown, revealing its secrets to the sane and driving them MAD! In ages long past, I shall be looked upon as a tyrant and a savior! As a savant and as a fool! My work shall advance humanity long past its time, throw it into the unknown future and force it to grow strong or FALL! Years from now, when I will inevitably be removed, my work shall continue to progress, because these things cannot be denied! “I want a status update.”

“Our real-time tracking systems show Vanko’s suit is overheating. Monitoring of the bank shows numerous Gifted individuals inside, as well as a large police presence outside. We believe SHIELD is on site as well.”

A man sat alone in a dark room, leaning back in a luxurious chair. On the wall in front of him was a TV bank – over thirty monitors, all stacked neatly in rows, and each was displaying a different image from around the world.

“I see. Continue to monitor Vanko in real time. If anything changes, let me know.”

The man pressed a button on the armrest of his chair, changing the frequency of his call. “I want a status update.”

A different voice replied. “Sir, we believe the Source is in New York. Abnormal energy patterns have been detected over the last few days.”

“Are you certain, Darius? I do not want another mistake like Madrid.”

“We are 92% certain, sir.”

The man in the chair nodded. He looked down at his hands, flexing his fingers as a dark purple energy sprang up in his palm, smoldering quietly. “… Contact our agents in New York. Tell them that the Vanko operation is now secondary. Locate the Source and reacquire with extreme prejudice. Eliminate anyone who gets in the way. Full force authorization is granted.”

[Bank: Front Entrance]

“I certainly hope so.” Yamaki shook his head. He was always one for an abundance of caution – and the project he had contacted Nova Labs in regards to was of the utmost importance. He knew that it might be the key to everything.

He scanned the building from behind his sunglasses and sighed. “I hate not knowing what’s going on in there.”

Meanwhile, in the crowd of onlookers behind the police tape, an… unusual figure had appeared. He was exceptionally tall – due in part to the spiky blonde hair that stuck straight up from his head. He wore a long, somewhat-tattered red coat with unusual black tubes on the front – and in his left arm he clutched a box of donuts to his chest; while he held a glazed donut in his right hand and chomped down on it.

“Om nom nom nom.” It was hard to tell if he was even aware of what was happening inside the bank or not.

Victor's expression only softened-but she could probably see the scar covering one of his eyes, and his somewhat knowing smile.

"...I know you have little reason to trust me, girl, and I don't know what path you have tread to bring you here now...but believe me, if such things as this were invincible, I would not be standing here before you today."

London: Diplomatic building

Didymus had to suppress the gag reflex when he noticed the severed hand, but Fury's voice suddenly was on the line.

"Uh, Agent Didymus (lastname), sir!" he said. "I...don't know where "Gomez" is, probably dead or missing the hand this cell phone came out of...but the building is under attack, sir! Our comms are blocked and we have MANY VIPs here in danger, sir!"

He didn't mention he had Garnet with him (not outright at least, not without being asked). He was mindful that maybe this call was being faked/traced? The thought occurred to him. It DID sound like Fury on the line, though...

“Damn Chloe!” Musashi stared wide-eyed and impressed – and just a little jealous. “That was incredible!”

Chloe turned around, flashing a grin to Musashi. "I know, I know, i'm awesome" she said, not the least bit humble in the situation. Unfortunately she didn't get much time to enjoy her victory, as the doombot she thought was dead suddenly started to blink rapidly. The girl jumped a bit, backing away from the head. "Ummmm what's it doing now miho?"

Let's just hope it's not a bomb.

[New York: Streets]

While most people were weary of strangers inviting them into their jacuzzi Kanna was actually pretty excited. She had done this a million times before. Play around with an unsuspecting man and then rob them blind....Easy. And if anything ever did go wrong she always had a gun....

Though the fact that this man was some kind of agent was....Well a bit intriguing. She wanted to know more about it....

"A tour sounds fun. Got any booze at your place?"

Hahaha silly Kanna.

[San Francisco: Alleyway]

“And your Uncle or Tohru can probably help too... they know magic stuff.”

Jade nodded, pulling out her phone and typing a few things before looking back to Ben. "She may not want her help but it looks like she needs it. How peeved do you think she'd be for getting Uncle involved?"

Hopefully not 'send us all into another dimension' peeved.

“It’s gonna blow!” Musashi gulped. He grabbed Chloe’s arm and jumped back towards the doorway – and just as the two made it through the threshold, the Doombot exploded with a shockwave that rattled the building and made the walls shake.

Musashi groaned as he sat up, rubbing his neck. His entire body hurt from the force of the explosion – but luckily he was alive.

“Sometimes this job really sucks.”

[…]

“… Damn it.” Was all Didymus would clearly hear from Fury for a moment. The sound of him yelling orders to the other people with him could be heard, as well as an alarm going off.

“Com units are still down. We can only communicate from the roof.” Fury explained. “It is imperative that we keep the Alexandrian delegate alive. Tell Stewart to find the Princess and get her somewhere safe ASAP.”

There was another brief pause as Fury yelled more orders, then he returned to the radio call. “Stay on the roof. Hold your position. I’m sending backup. Once backup arrives, I need you to deliver that message and get this place back under SHIELD control.”

[New York: Streets]

“I’ve got a modest little bar.” Rica lied. In truth he had a fully stocked and furnished bar in his apartment that put most actual bars to shame. One of the many side-effects of his particular gift was a metabolism that broke down alcohol exceptionally quick – so he needed copious amounts of liquor to get drunk.

Rica turned and motioned for Kanna to follow him.

[San Francisco: Alleyway]

“… We shouldn’t talk here.” Raven ultimately decided. A dark alleyway where the dead bodies of crazy cultists were lying a few feet away was hardly a nice place to meet people.

“If any of you do want to help, then follow me… but I wouldn’t blame any of you for staying away.”

She would lead any who would follow down the street, to a condemned apartment building she had been living in.

"Sure didn't sound like you were doing anything interfere-able except scaring a girl in a back alley about how threatening they are..." Arcueid replied to Victor, still sounding antagonistic towards the vampire hunter.

Though when Raven mentioned the Cult of Blood as she did, Arcueid quickly turned more serious.

"So THAT is what they're calling themselves. ...Very distasteful..."

Though when Raven started to leave, Arcueid followed. Not as much about coming along to help, but more to see if she could learn more about this Cult of Blood by following her.

Though perhaps killing whatever possible monsters were involved would be considered "helping"... Though that wasn't what Arcueid was thinking about at all.

San Francisco: Kaiju Corp Offices

"I trust SHIELD about as far as I can throw them... which isn't anywhere near as far as you guys could, but that's besides the point," Marco commented.

Having the occasional check-ins on Kaiju Corp. by SHIELD was stressful enough when they were just seeing over how the company was adapting with the knowledge learned from the generic alien tech that dropped from the crashed ships 10 years ago. This Obelisk... it was something on a completely different level.

And it also was incredibly dangerous just to even have to look at.

"I think... For now, my place has a little vault that it could be kept in until we come up with something better."

The TARDIS

Rumi quickly picked back up her sketchbook, brushing off any dust that stuck to it from the floor, before following the Doctor's lead over to the centre console.

"Time and Relative Dimension in Space... So this is a spaceship time machine? How come you crashed into my hotel room, then?" she then put her hands on her hips, looking a little unhappy towards the Doctor.

New York City: Bank (outside)

The woman who was sneaking around the scene was busy looking over everything. She was wearing glasses, even though she certainly did not need to wear glasses to see clearly. Instead, her purpose was scanning.

Scanning everything.

Wifi frequencies, scrambled frequencies from the SHIELD team that just arrived, the buildings, cars, people, everything.

In twenty five years, she had only returned to earth once, about five years ago. She needed a base of information about everything on this planet that wasn't already in the databanks from her ship.

She had a 'mission' to take care of, but it is much more efficient to complete a mission being adequately informed, than by going in blind.

Though as she scanned, something came up amongst those who were in the crowd here, that was quite a bit different. One of these people seemed to almost be like a walking power plant, if the scan was to be believed. It was difficult for her simple scan to determine if that was someone who had been affected by the Metacrisis event from 10 years ago on this planet, or something else, but they definitely were a possible problem, if it came to them either starting something or joining into the chaos inside the bank.

The woman had to refrain herself from grabbing her Paralyzer weapon to prepare in case that possible problem became an imminent problem, however. Grabbing for a gun in a crowd near law enforcement personnel, as well as SHIELD, was a good way to cause an incident, even if her own 'gun' was not lethal.

Instead, she continued scanning the area, while keeping an eye herself on any possible metas her scan came across, just in case something happened.

"Y-yes sir!" Didymus said, a bit confused by Fury's orders until the last bit.

He kept the phone on him, and only pocketed it if Fury hung up. Crouching down, he spoke to Garnet.

"Milady, we...need to stay here. Help is on the way and I have comms here with SHIELD, but we need to hold position here..." he said. "Please stay down."

San Francisco

Victor had little to say to Arcueid now, seeing her as being more set on annoying him than anything else at the moment-as far as he could prove. Of course, whenever THEIR kind were involved something that demanded their attention was usually going on as well...for the moment, he followed Raven and kept an eye on Arc.

[San Francisco: Condemned Apartment]

The apartment building Raven was living in had been closed down nearly a year ago – and it showed. The outside was in severe disrepair, with boards on most of the windows and the door – but Raven had taken up residency there in one of the apartments and actually cleaned it up.

It was still rather dim, given there was no electricity in the building, but there were several candles that floated around the room and gave off enough light. Beyond them, the only other things in the room were an air mattress in the corner, a single table and stacks of books.

Many of the books were clearly very old, with worn covers and pages. Some of them dated back centuries – and all were on unusual subjects. Some were tomes of magic, others chronicled supposedly true stories of demons and knights, but as Raven led the others in she made one particular book float to her hand.

She turned and handed it to whoever was standing closest to her.

“The Cult of Blood, from what I can tell, has existed for about four hundred years in one form or another.” Raven explained. “It’s very hard to actually learn much about them, though. They’ve stayed low under the radar for most of that time.”

She motioned to bookmarks sticking out the end of the book.

“There were two times I know of when they were especially active. Once was in the 1920’s in England. They were involved in some plot, but I can’t get any details on it. I know they were either trying to kill or corrupt George V, but beyond that…” Raven shook her head. “It obviously failed, and they went back underground.”

She opened it to another bookmark. “The second time was in the early 2000’s. The Cult was active here in America and lured in a number of teenagers… one of them was my mother.”

[San Francisco: Kaiju Corp Offices]

“If you’re sure.” Nanami agreed. She didn’t quite like the idea of leaving the Obelisk here, since it was sure to place Marco’s company in danger… but there really weren’t many other options.

“One thing… don’t get it wet.” Nanami warned him. “The aliens targeted cities near bodies of water. Popular theory is that water is somehow needed for Terragenesis. One more reason it’s best I don’t have that thing around.”

[New York: Bank]

“Hey! Hey, Mr. Suit guy! Hey! Over here!”

Yamaki felt annoyance rising up in his stomach as he turned away from Jagan and towards the man in the crowd who was yelling at him.

The man in the red coat.

“Heeeeey! What’s going on inside? Is it a robbery?” The man in the red coat called as he munched down on a donut.

“Sir, I need you to stay behind the police tape.” Yamaki sighed. He really hated annoying civilians.

[London: Diplomatic Building]

“On the roof?” Garnet frowned. She supposed in a sense it was safer here than inside the tight hallways – if Didymus hadn’t blasted that Doombot so quickly, they both surely would have died; but the whole thing still rubbed her the wrong way.

“… Maybe I should call out to them?” She suggested in a quiet voice. “They’re looking for me, aren’t they? That’s what this is about – trying to send a message to my parents. Maybe if I give myself up no one else will get hurt…”

[The TARDIS]

“Your hotel crashed into me.” The Doctor replied with a scowl. He paused for a moment, before furrowing his massive brows. “… Okay, I suppose I crashed into the hotel.”

He started pacing back and forth around the console. “I miscalculated things. I haven’t been to Earth in a long time. Didn’t properly account for a few factors and ended up hitting a hotel. Could happen to anyone, really.”

The TARDIS came to a stop. The Doctor started towards the door.

San Francisco: Condemned apartment

Victor was quiet, and wary, as he saw Raven's apartment.

Many books of sorcery were here, he recognized some as tomes (or copies of tomes) the Order had seen about trying to destroy MULTIPLE times.

Saving this one, if even possible, could be a challenge...still, he knew his duty.

"Yes, they have existed for those centuries." Victor said. "They worshiped-and still do, clearly-a demonic being the nature of which it is difficult to determine-I don't believe they think it to be Satan per se, but suffice to say it isn't supposed to be a loving creator."

This was his chance, he thought. A chance to let this girl know maybe he DID know what he was talking about after all.

"During the mid nineteenth century scramble for empires and the associated conflicts that flared up, they appeared in Africa. They had been hunted in Europe and thought that the conflict and indigenous states-and plights-going on at the time would be a perfect front. Claiming they could summon the "perfect spirit" to halt the European expansion, they enlisted the aid of various African tribes and states-indigenous and colonial groups seeking independence alike saw them as a dark, but increasingly attractive risk in the face of the seemingly unstoppable expansion of the empires. In an otherwise-unremarkable expedition into territory that was...coincidentally...controlled by them, a small, international military brigade sent BY said empires located a group engaged in "the darkest of practices" that they quickly put a stop to."

Victor's tone implied he knew why that brigade was launched and who it was comprised of.

"Most of us never thought that was the end of it." he said.

He paused, waiting to see if Raven would react to his history lesson.

London: Diplomatic building

Didymus paused.

"...we...don't know what will happen if you give yourself up. But you're not the only delegate here, right? There were others...and maybe you'd be used as a bargaining chip to gain some other leverage over your country or people if you gave yourself up. Maybe the fighting WOULD stop, but...I dunno. It's...too risky, I think, to gamble on."

Poor girl...she blames herself for this...and now you're encouraging her not to give herself up, which possibly WOULD end it and now YOU'RE-stop it. This isn't how you think. This is the kind of thinking you'd make jokes with your ROTC buddies about...

"Giving into people like this is not the way. There's turning the other cheek...that's good, we NEED to do that...but then there's lying down in the face of madmen entirely and letting them walk over you and anyone else they can."

"So treat it like it's a Gremlin, got it!" Marco quickly answered Nanami, as he got up and grabbed a hold of the briefcase that the obelisk was brought in.

"Just how would you feed that after midnight, anyways?" Avril pitched in with her own comment, continuing to sit on one of the tables in the workshop, fiddling with some of the tools and model prototypes around her.

Meanwhile, Chachamaru had taken the obelisk, carefully placing it inside the case Marco had brought over.

"The concept of not feeding after midnight is a paradox. The twelve hour clock is cyclical in nature, and thus it is always after midnight, no matter what time a clock states it is," the gynoid added, not realizing that the comments she was responding to were made in jest.

"...yeah. I think it'd be safe there, at least for a little bit. It might be a good idea to get in contact with the Testarossa's... They might have a good place to store it even more safely..." Marco added, thinking.

The TARDIS

"Well I'm glad you know what you're doing!" Rumi answered, a bit sarcastically.

"So where are we now?" she then added, following the Doctor towards the door.

[New York: Bank]

While the superheroes battled against Whiplash, and it seemed the battle was almost at an end, one of the hostages was watching with eager interest in his eye.

An older gentleman with a white goatee was huddled in the corner. He looked like any other hostage, cowering behind one of the counters and trying to remain out of the way. The only thing that set him apart was the eye patch.

He casually slipped his hand into his pocket and swiped his thumb across the screen of his phone, sending out a signal.

Suddenly Whiplash stumbled, shaking his head. “Wha… What the hell!?”

He looked around at the heroes around him; his armor stopped heating up and his eyes narrowed behind his mask. He looked confused – and very angry. Suddenly his whips exploded out – but the individual linking metal blades broke apart and began to spin around his body; it was as if a small tornado was raging around him – but made of razor blades, each one sharp enough to slash through steel.

The blades shot out in every direction, heading towards the heroes!

Spider-Woman yelped and jumped out of the way – but she felt one of the blades slide into her leg and cried out. It was a shallow cut, but it definitely reinforced how dangerous Whiplash could be.

[San Francisco: Kaiju Corp Offices]

Nanami decided to ignore both Avril’s joke and Chachamaru’s response. She was – as always – still focused on the main task at hand. Her eyes remained on the briefcase, narrowed and filled with a silent fury.

It was impossible for her not to worry about that thing. It could be considered one of the deadliest weapons in the world – and the single most dangerous bit of alien technology that had come out of First Contact.

“Wherever we store it is just part of the problem.” Nanami revealed, as she turned back to Marco. “The whole reason I was able to obtain it was because someone very well organized and well armed is going after alien technology.”

In the decade since Terragenesis, alien technology had become a highly controlled substance. Most governments wanted it found, and when they got their hands on it they rarely let it out of their sight – except sometimes to private companies like Marco’s for research.

There were also collectors; people with the wealth and connections to actually get the technology and keep it out of the hands of various governments; and they often wanted more.

Now someone was going after those collectors.

“There could be other Obelisks like this out there; or other dangerous technology.” Nanami pointed out. “I need to find the people trying to steal it and stop them. Who knows what hell they could unleash – intentionally or unintentionally.”

[San Francisco: Condemned Apartments]

“I’m not surprised.” Raven replied as she listened to the story. She looked about the room for a moment, and then picked up one of the newer looking books. She handed it to Victor, pointing out one of the bookmarks stuck in it.

“There are similar stories from throughout history. The Cult has been active all across the world, at different points. It seems like they follow a pretty clear pattern… they set up shop somewhere, recruit followers and enact all kinds of bizarre rituals. Then once they attract too much attention they go back underground.”

She waved her hand, flipping the pages. “There was a story in Australia from the 1920’s. There’s very few details, but apparently an entire small town disappeared in a single night without explanation. There was a similar event in China during their war with Japan, but it was blamed on the war.”

She flipped a few pages more. “Speaking of the war, there was some evidence that the Cult may have been active in Germany at the time. There’s a few accounts from soldiers from various sides of the war that describe inhuman creatures and flames that wouldn’t go out even in heavy rain, and there’s a story about a Soviet tank squadron that simply vanished into thin air without any sign of battle.”

Raven went quiet for a moment. “They’ve been active for a long time – but usually in remote places, or at times of great war and strife. Always times when their actions wouldn’t be noticed… now they’re active in a major American city and they’re drawing attention. Either they’re getting sloppy after four hundred years… or they don’t care about getting caught anymore.”

[The Helicarrier: Flying Over London]

The SHIELD Helicarrier was the mobile headquarters of the organization. What resembled a massive battleship could traverse the seas or the skies, and it had enough firepower to fight a war by itself.

Of course, all those weapons were useless right now. They couldn’t very well start launching missiles at a diplomatic center in the heart of London. Even Nick Fury wasn’t that crazy.

“Doom wants to send a message.” Fury growled. He stood on the bridge of the Helicarrier, looking at various screens. “He wants the whole world to see that Latvaria can do whatever the hell they want. I’m not inclined to let him send that message. You think you can handle this?”

A voice came from one of the screens.

“Stopping a crazy European dictator? I guess some things never change.”

Outside, on the edge of the ship, the voice’s owner gave a small sigh as he strapped a round shield to his back. “Though some things do. I’ve jumped out of planes and off of ships, but never at the same time.”

“You want a parachute?” Fury’s voice came from the watch around his wrist.

“Nah. It’d just slow me down.” He jumped off the edge of the ship, spiraling down towards the diplomatic center below…

[London: Diplomatic Building]

Near the main building, not far from where a small fire was burning, a large wooden box had appeared. The door suddenly opened and the Doctor stepped out, immediately glancing around with a scowl plastered on his face.

“Worse than I thought,” He muttered to himself as he looked around. Then he turned towards the door and peered in at Rumi. “We’re at the Diplomatic Building. So do keep an eye out for killer robots.”

Sadly, those were pretty much a constant possibility when traveling with the Doctor.

[…]

“Maybe you’re right.” Garnet sighed. She shook her head – looking around at the various plumes of smoke, and hearing the constant gunfire and explosions from every direction.

“I just feel so helpless… I – Look out!”

Garnet broke off her sentence midway through as one of the machines suddenly flew up from the ground level towards the edge of the room. It’s hand opened and there was a crackling electricity between its fingers as it raised the hand towards the pair –

And then something streaking down from the skies above slammed into the machine and knocked it straight to the ground. There was a huge cloud of dust kicked up as metal crunched and the machine crumpled.

When the smoke cleared, the man that fell from the sky slowly stood up. All the kinetic energy of the fall had been dissipated safely by his shield when he hit the robotic killer.

Captain America turned and glanced up at the roof.

“Okay. Back up has arrived.”

Victor listened as Raven talked on.

"Yes, those incidents...may have been this Cult of Blood...but we were quite busy in those days-a great many things worldwide demanded our attention then..." he said. "...divisions vanishing or fire that would not go out could have been the work of a number of things then..."

He looked at the book Raven had given him-ensuring it wasn't a forbidden tome (knowing that sometimes things were written down that should never be read-especially outloud)-before reading the passages Raven was directing his attention to.

"That incident in Africa was only the time they were most active, most exposed, and trying their biggest operation to date. Now, though...perhaps they are not worried about being caught. It WAS somewhat easy to detect them here, but there were all manner of factors that could have influenced that..."

He paused.

"If they are indeed operating less carefully, then something akin to Africa may be about to unfold. But one question is how YOU tie into it..." he said. He was still wary, however glad he may have been that Raven seemed to be opening up.

Still, this entire situation was dark-this girl still appeared a sorceress and some of the books she kept were doing her no favors in his mind...

London: diplomatic building

At Garnet's warning, Didymus raised his rifle and opened up again on the incoming robot.

Then the shield came. Didymus' mind jumped.

Then Captain America himself landed on the roof.

"My gosh!" he said.

Oh gosh it's the Cap himself! despite everything, Didymus felt a fanboyish urge welling up in him.

Then he felt a tad insecure-here he was playing brave defender to a beautiful princess, then the Cap himself appears.

Still, he had a chance to work with CAPTAIN AMERICA.

He chuckled.

"Heh. Send in America when a dictator gets out of line. Fitting." he said.

"Well, milady, it appears Captain Rodgers is on the scene."

I can't see what you're imagining
New York City

-The Bank-

Spider-Man grinned, his plan working, when all of a sudden Whiplash seemed to go crazy, the chains of his whips shooting outwards in all directions!

He jumped, shooting web to block some of the whip pieces from hitting any civilians, biting back some pain as several fragments sliced into him.

Iron Man landed, creating a shield to stop more fragments from hitting him or others, straining against the force.

“The heck is going on with this guy?” Turtle Titan yelled from behind the teller's desk still. He aimed carefully, swinging his grappling hook, throwing it over the desk at Whiplash, trying to smack him in the head with it and knock him out!

-Alleyway-

“Those first two sound like they might be Spider-Man and Spider-Woman...” Cole said, thinking it over, “Can't say anything about the others. Haven't you ever heard of those two before? That Jameson guy in the Daily Bugle keeps saying they're criminals. Then again, says that about most super people.”

Cole watched across the street still, wondering just what was happening inside there.

“If you don't mind answering, what is your interest here? Just being a tourist? I live in this city, so I guess I feel a little responsible if the villain in there does try to get away, but what about you? You're clearly not a local,” Cole asked.

-S.H.I.E.L.D. Field Office-

Aboy gave Phazon a small smile, sitting back now in a chair by him, running a hand through her hair.

“I'm glad you're okay... I get what you mean. It's been... nice for me as well,” Aboy said, “Though yah... with that stuff in Alexandria... Higher ups may want to deploy us...”

Aboy was a meta, and had combat training, but she much preferred to be in the lab.

London

-Diplomatic Building-

“This way...” Edda said. He paused for a moment, taking out the clip of his gun and placing in another, then held out a third clip to Topaz.

“Armor piercing rounds,” Edda said, “Might be useful.”

San Francisco

-Condemned Building-

“Sounds like these guys are worse then those Dark Hand people...” Ben said as Raven explained about the Cult of Blood. He idly picked up a book, looking through it.

“Can you even read that?” Billy asked, taking the book from Ben.

“Nope! Omnitrix just translate spoken words,” Ben said with a shrug. Billy sighed and put the book away, then glanced towards Arc and Raven.

“Look, if you want to talk to someone who might know something, the wizard who gave me my powers-” Billy paused to look towards Ben.

“Shazam,” Ben supplied.

“He might be able to help us,” Billy offered, “Or at least point us in the right direction.”

[New York Bank]
[Front Entrance]

Jagan narrowed his eyes as he saw one of the windows shatter at the bank entrance as SOMETHING began inside of the structure. He couldn't guess as to what it was quite yet, but it looked like there was a high possibility that the fight inside of the bank would spill into the streets outside.

It didn't mean he had to take any action quite yet, but it also meant that he should be prepared.

However, he had to observe a few others as well. A tall man in a red coat and blonde broom-hair was wading through the crowd and towards the police-restricted area. The figure in the blue jacket was still sneaking around the police as well, and needed to be kept within sight lest they become a danger. He highly doubted that was the case, but there was the minor possibility that the figure worked with whomever decided to attack the bank.

And then, there was Yamaki. He was also a very important figure right now, one that Jagan could not afford to die if things went to hell. Yamaki was their new employer, and that meant that funding would be coming from his accounts... And said funding would dry up real quick if Yamaki was to die here. That meant that this was turning into a covert bodyguard job as well.

With such mounting difficulties, Jagan wondered if this was what the Professor predicted. Was this the beginning that Nova spoke of? If it was...

It was one hell of a start, that was certain.

[Bank Back Alley]

Alita's tail swished around lazily as she raised an eyebrow, looking curiously at the bank building.

"Ohhh? So that's Spider-man and Spider-woman, huh? I heard of them, sure, but never met either in person. I don't know who HASN'T heard of them, the names are quite big around the world... But if they are there and having so much problems with whoever that other guy is..."

She left the rest of the sentence unsaid. It didn't need to be. If Spider-man, Spider-Woman AND Iron Man had problems with whoever was inside, they were trouble.

"I'm not a tourist. If I was, I wouldn't be staring at the back side of a bank wall." She huffed in mild annoyance, but sighed and re-focused. "No, I was here with a few friends of mine on a business thing of sorts. And just as we have it all squared away and we get some free leave from work on boss' orders, my team leader sucks all the fun out of it and tries to make this into a surveillance op. That's not exactly my idea of spending vacation time, but he's in charge and very hard to argue with. And so, I'm here in the midst of trouble again, on my VACATION hours no less. Unfaaaair."

Suddenly, her tail went rigid as she snapped her head to look at the bank again.

"... Something just changed. The troublemaker just upped the ante somehow, and I am hearing a lot of whistling and crashing..."

Now becomes the the past in an instant — and everyone will eventually die! Destiny triumphs over human knowledge and goes mad! That is the way of things! I spit upon this frail, crazed, world! I spit upon the Second Law of Thermodynamics!
~ Desty Nova, Karmatron Theory

Let them Label me! Let them swear and curse at me as I tug humanity like a bucking bull into the darkness of the unknown, revealing its secrets to the sane and driving them MAD! In ages long past, I shall be looked upon as a tyrant and a savior! As a savant and as a fool! My work shall advance humanity long past its time, throw it into the unknown future and force it to grow strong or FALL! Years from now, when I will inevitably be removed, my work shall continue to progress, because these things cannot be denied! Governments will publicly criticize my work, but privately conduct research that advances it! I shall imprint myself into the annals of history, among the stars that shine as brightly as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Dmitri Mendeleev, Nikola Tesla, and countless others! My work will shine as brightly as any star, and I AM ITS CREATOR!!!
