I'll bite your legs off!

London: Diplomatic building Didymus paused, almost at his patience's end with this man, but Topaz produced a handkerchief (a cheap kleenex) and snatched the card. She ran it through, and if it was valid, Vernard was waved in. "Have a good day...sir..." she said. San Francisco-streets "Your sinister powers will fail!" Victor said, and lashed out again with the combat cross, trying to subdue the cultist! |

[New York] [Streets] As Jagan quickly made distance between himself and that side alley with the van, he slowed his pace to a more manageable march that allowed him to maneuver through the throng of people like a ghost. Several blocks away however, another figure matched pace with him, a girl in a white trench coat and metallic strips on the sides of her face who was leaning on a wall on the same street that Jagan was passing at the time. She fell right into step, and let out a short sigh. "Everything in order, Jagan?" The young man in black nodded swiftly. "Affirmative. The deal has been made and locked. We now have the unofficial funding of some of SHIELD's subdivisions, and access to more of the element than the Professor wants to study." The girl continued to look straight forward, not even glancing at Jagan as she walked. "Any further orders?" "I am about to contact the professor about further instructions. I assume we will have them shortly." Both of them turned right into another rather empty alley as Jagan brought up his watch, but the screen that appeared this time had a face within it, already connected to a call. The man on the screen, the infamous Professor Desty Nova, looked absolutely thrilled, and grinned like a maniac as he stared up at Jagan from the screen. HE didn't speak immediately however, since he was rather busy licking a spoon clean of his favorite, delicious treat. "Aaaah! Jagan! Absolutely FlanTASTIC job! We have secured funding, found one of the unknown leaks in SHIELD and we managed to secure yet another line of communication with some of our other sponsors! Brilliant work, you deserve a break!" The girl walking beside Jagan perked up, but the youth in black gave a short shake of his head. "Professor, I do not believe it wise for us to remain complacent." Desty Nova, however, had different ideas. "Nonsense, my boy! Alita! Inform the other three! You're all on break in New York City. Grab a penthouse suite in some 5-star hotel, and relax for the next little while. I do not yet have any orders, but I have this feeling that New York might be seeing some new events soon. I want you to stay there and keep an eye out... And enjoy yourselves while you are at it." The girl whom the professor called "Alita" whooped in joy and spun about, grabbing Jagan's arm much to the youth's surprise and faced the screen towards herself. "Thanks, professor! We won't cause any trouble, you won't regret it!" Desty Nova nodded towards her and the communicator winked out, leaving a blank holographic screen in its place. Jagan shut off his own end of the screen as Alita let out another whoop of happiness and turned to him with a wide, exuberant smile. "You heard the boss, Jagan! Any ideas?" Jagan remained thoughtful for a moment, stopping in the middle of the alley to think about the current situation. Logically, it would appear that the professor wanted them to establish an observational base here in New York City, and the best way to do that would be... "I will requisition a penthouse suite for us in one of the taller hotels in the local vicinity. We will set up a base of operations there until the Professor is ready to hand out the next set of orders. Alita, find Sechs, Elf and Zwölf; inform them that they are to make their way to our new base of operations immediately. We will discuss further plans of operations there." Alita let out a long-suffering sigh, looking at Jagan with a critical expression. "The professor also told us to RELAX, Jagan." "Negative. He also informed us that he is expecting some form of event in New York in the near future. We cannot be lax in our observations. After you inform the others, patch into the local surveillance network and link it to our observation post. We will need as much information as we can." Alita's cheeks inflated as she glared at Jagan's retreating back as the young man began to move again. "You are seriously not fun at all, Snakey." "Our mission here is not about "fun", Alita. It is about observation. Please keep your conduct professional." Alita's grumbling "yes, sir" ended that particular exchange as both of them walked out of the alley on the other side and again mergedwith the crowd on the streets. |

[London: Diplomatic Building] Reluctantly, Vernard walked inside the building. With utter disgust and contempt on her face, Beatrix too went back inside. The next few minutes passed by in uneventful silence. Occasionally, Didymus or Topaz would hear the sound of hurried chatter on their radios as the SHIELD team present at the building went about their business. Then about five minutes after the incident with Vernard and Beatrix, a very familiar face appeared. Brock Rumlow was the head of STRIKE, the elite SHIELD team that was used for the highest-profile cases. “You two,” Rumlow called as he approached. “We’ve got a problem. I could use a second set of eyes, so one of you needs to come with me.” [San Francisco: Streets] This time, the cultist moved FAST. He was able to evade the combat cross by a long margin. His entire body was now shining with that unusual red light, and his movements became too quick. He was moving inhumanly fast. Slowly a shadow began to descend over the alleyway, and the light from the street lamps began to simply disappear. Yet the man did not speak… [New York: Streets III] Not far from where Jagan and Alita were parting ways, there was a sudden thunderous explosion! A shockwave echoed out from across the street as a sports car was blown to bits, small pieces of metal and other debris raining down all across the busy street. The crowds went running, screaming as they dispersed. Directly in front of where the explosion had erupted was a bank. |

[New York] Streets Truthfully Kanna wasn't paying much attention (she was focused on her money and newly acquired cards) when the glass beside her shattered so she jumped like a cat whose tail was stepped on when it happened. Before she could react she was hit with...something....She wasn't exactly sure what. .....Until money went EVERYWHERE. "Holy smurf" she cursed, picking herself up and looking around. She didn't even know how to react at first...But then she started grabbing. [London] [Diplomatic Building] “Oh pleeease, what would you do without my help, Chloe? Admit it, this job would be painfully boring without my charm.” "Naaaaah i'd probably get more done without you truthfully. But then who would I punch for fun?" Chloe said with a grin, shoving him playfully- and probably accidentally knocking him into a wall. "So any idea what they're talking about in there?" |

[London: Diplomatic Building] Musashi groaned as he hit the wall. Chloe was great, but she needed to learn to watch her own strength. Or in her case, super strength. “Knowing you, Chloe, you’d just punch whoever you want to.” Musashi replied with a grin. Then he glanced at the door they were guarding. “Well, they’re politicians, so they’re probably moaning and groaning and making a big show while accomplishing nothing.” Musashi said, with bitterness in his voice. His father was a powerful politician in Japan, and Musashi had grown to hate politics. [New York: Streets I] As the man stumbled, he noticed Kanna grabbing at his freshly stolen money and he quickly whipped out a sawed-off shotgun. “Get away from my money!” He yelled at her. From across the street, a man in a navy blue trenchcoat heard the commotion and paused, tilting his head over to watch from behind his sunglasses. |

[New York] [Streets III] The explosion attracted the attention of the two agents before they could properly split up, and both snapped their heads in the direction of the blast. Then, Alita quickly glanced at Jagan, who was already motioning quick hand signals. She understood them immediately, let out a "Got it!", and quickly dashed PAST the street on which the explosion came from, taking a slightly longer way around at a running pace that was definitely not human. Jagan, however, headed down the shortest path towards the area, and took off at a lope down the street and around the corner, straight onto the road from which the blast came from. It took him a few seconds to make sure he wasn't swept up by screaming and running pedestrians, but he quickly oriented himself and made a mental note of the signs along the road, and the large title of the bank right above its entrance. Quickly running through a few mental scenarios, he decided that it would be prudent to avoid frontal assault in case this was a robbery and there were innocents held hostage inside. He meandered on the opposite side of the street from the bank, and half-hid behind one of the walls of a nearby bus stop, observing. Maybe this is what the professor meant? It sure started to happen much quicker than he expected. If Jagan was the type, he would curse at the timing, since they did not have any surveillance equipment set up yet. But he was logical, cold and professional. Instead of cursing, he simply observed. While Jagan took position opposite of the bank's entrance, Alita was madly making a dash down the streets surrounding the bank building, making her way around the back. Sliding to a stop at the corner of the street passing just behind the bank, she carefully glanced around the corner, trying to see if there was anything happening behind the bank. Like Jagan, she wasn't about to go rushing blindly in. Seriously, who would possibly be insane enough to set off an explosion in a bank right in the middle of Manhattan? It was paramount to suicide, doubly so because of the regional SHIELD office and the presence of metahumans. She wracked her brain for any possible answer, but coming up with none, she kept a careful watch of the street behind the bank... |

London: Diplomatic building When Rumlow lassoed one of them, Didymus looked to Topaz. "Well, Topaz? Chivalry demands I let YOU get off boring guard duty." "And get mixed up with STRIKE? I thought chivalry taught benevolence and kindness and RESPECT for women? Sounds like you're just trying to throw me under the bus." Topaz smirked. "...seriously? After that guy you're gonna act like that?" Didymus asked, a bit irritated. "...okay, maybe I overdid it...still, you go get mixed up with those crazies." Topaz admitted. "Sir...I'm your man." Didymus said to Rumlow. San Francisco-streets The hooded man noticed it was getting darker...he clutched his combat cross, whispering a prayer...and a pale, yet healthy-looking, light began to shine, beating back the shadows, at least in a small area around Victor, as he regarded the other people here... |

San Francisco -Streets- “Stop moving and let me hit you!” Ben yelled as Fourarms, swinging wildly at the cultist himself, trying to connect. “You might be fast, but not as fast as me!” Captain Marvel declared. Electricity crackled along his arms, and he shot forward at the cultist, trying to grab him! London -Diplomatic Building- Edda seemed to have disappeared, reappearing after Didymus was chosen to go with the S.T.R.I.K.E. Team. “Need more help guarding this Topaz, or should I continue my security sweeps?” Edda asked Topaz then. New York City -Streets- “Woah... did you hear that?” Spider-Man asked, twisting around as the explosion rocketed a bank not far from them. “Sounds like some supervillain!” He fired a web, hurrying towards the commotion! Mikey followed after, using his ninja skills to leap from rooftop to rooftop to keep up. Were Mikey more of the one for introspection, he might find it amusing then when he had to do this as part of his training, he tended to complain. But doing it as a hero... Well, he loved it. |

[San Francisco] -Alleyway- Jade rushed down the street, pulling out her cell phone and dialing Ben's number...It rang a few times, but then went to voicemail. The girl frowned a bit, but stuck it back in her hoodie....The boy was probably out causing trouble like he always was- Suddenly there was a flash of lightening, bright enough in the distance to cause the girl to stumble back a few steps. "Trouble..." she mumbled, rushing towards it! [London] -Diplomatic Building- “Well, they’re politicians, so they’re probably moaning and groaning and making a big show while accomplishing nothing.” "You know, for the son of one of those fat-cat-types you really shouldn't be speaking so negatively...After all how will you carry on the legacy of embezzlement and empty promises when you get old enough to take over?" Chloe said with a slight grin. "Though I do hear that those guys get all the hot chicks. surely you're at least into that miho" [New York] - Streets- Kanna probably should have known that free money was too good to be true....But it was free money...ALL OVER THE PLACE. When she finally looked back up she was met with the barrel of a sawed off shot gun. She took a small breath, standing back up. "You wouldn't shoot a sweet girl like me would you? I mean, there are so many more fun thing we could be doing....Most of them involve less bloodshed too" The girl smiled. Edited by Crystal Rose, Mar 10 2015, 06:44 PM.

San Francisco International Airport One part of San Francisco that was almost always active at all times of day and night was the airport, where people arrived and left on flights at all hours. The most recent flight arrival was out of Japan, carrying a number of important figures, as well as people just arriving on business, or just on vacation... "Come on, aren't you supposed to be excited about coming over here?" a girl with long blonde hair tied off to the side of her head started exclaiming to the young black-haired woman walking next to her, as the two made their way from the luggage pickup area towards the exit. "I mean, it's been... what is it? Six... Eight months since he visited?" the girl continued, with a sly grin growing on her face as she elbowed the other woman with her free arm. "And now you get to visit him!! Though if you need some aloooooooone time, I can just head off to check in our stuff at the hotel and you can go over to the HQ and finally spill your guts to him..." By this time, the blonde girl was barely able to contain her laughter behind her teasing, before she was interrupted by a strange woman in white pulling a Japanese guy wearing glasses past them, knocking into the blonde girl's luggage. ...something that inspired the blonde to make another comment. "Unless you found another guy in Japan and haven't told your best friend all about it? That Marco is a bit of a bum. If he really likes you that way, like I think, he should have gotten off his butt and ask you out already or something. ...and not just stay in America for the last half a year... If you don't kill him first, I'm going to have to give him a piece of my mind when we finally meet up!!" Edited by Dark Phazon, Mar 10 2015, 07:12 PM.

[New York: Bank] Gwen hastily swung along the rooftops with Peter and Mikey. Her masked eyes widened at the sight when they rounded the corner. The Bank was in a state of panic. There frame of a truck was burning uncontrollably in front of the bank, spewing a thick black cloud into the air; and the shrill sound of an alarm blared on in the background. […] “We shouldn’t have banks, man! Banks are a perversion of money! Money belongs in your mattress, or in your shoe!” A strange man was yelling from inside the bank’s lobby. He was brandishing a military-grade grenade launcher in his arms, and ranting incoherently. “Shut up, Stan!” One of the others in the bank yelled out. In total there were six criminals standing in the middle of the bank’s main room. Four of them held assault rifles, while the other two had grenade launchers. From the back of the bank, a scream was ripping through the halls and there was the sound of something electric burning into metal. [New York: Streets] “You ain’t my type. Now back off my money.” The criminal growled, as he raised the shotgun. The last thing he needed was to kill someone on the side of the road, but he knew he only had a few minutes at best until the police arrived. “I give ya ta three. One… two…” [London: Diplomatic Building] “Good.” Rumlow said simply as he motioned for Didymus to follow him. He quickly rounded one of the twisting hallways and led him up a small flight of stairs and towards the waiting rooms, where the diplomats were all corralled into their own areas to wait for the meeting to begin. “The ID for one of the Alexandrian Senator’s aids was swiped ten minutes ago to get past the gate,” Rumlow explained. While Didymus and Topaz were guarding the actual meeting room, STRIKE was in charge of the building’s main perimeter. “That aid never showed to the Alexandrian delegation room. Showed a picture to their Senator, and she confirmed the woman using the card wasn’t the aid.” They came to the end of the hallway, where two STRIKE Agents were standing outside a door. “I need my team searching for the imposter, so I have to pull them off babysitting the Senator. So now that’s your job.” Rumlow explained. “We’ll have to be a little irregular. Need you in the room. Don’t let anyone in unless the Senator gives you personal confirmation on their identity.” [San Francisco: Alleyway] The moment that Captain Marvel’s hand touched the cultist there was a MASSIVE burst of energy! A thick red energy that felt as if it weighed a metric ton blasted out in every direction. Ben would likely feel horribly sick to his stomach as if he were about to retch. For Captain Marvel and Victor, the effect would be lessened – but still quite noticeable. Whatever power was seeping out of this cultist, it was frighteningly strong. It was very old, concentrated evil, and even Victor’s impressive resistance to it could only grant a partial reprieve from its potency. [San Francisco: International Airport] “Yeah. I’m excited.” The words were spoken in a monotone that could pass for a mixture of apathy and lethargy. The dark-haired Japanese woman who stood up from her seat on the plane sighed and stretched out her long legs. She hated air travel, but at least she hadn’t been flying this plane. The apathy only broke at the blonde’s next comment, and crimson eyes narrowed in annoyance. “Don’t start with that.” Nanami Nomura growled as she grabbed her suitcase from the overhead bin and waited for the other passengers to get off the plane. “We’re here on business, Avril. You can meddle in the personal life you imagined for me later.” |

London: Diplomatic Building Didymus walked with Rumlow, edgy about being "noticed" by the head of STRIKE. With all his concerns about SHIELD, getting mixed up with its elite enforcers was a bit...edgy...of an experience for him. As Rumlow explained the situation, Didymus was curious... "So...do we already know what this imposter looks like? Can we trace the ID's? Just thought I'd ask, though I guess that's your department now. Anyhow...babysit a politician? Crap, I knew Topaz was making sure I got the short end of the stick, but dealing with a European politician...crap. Heh." he chuckled. "Alright, no one gets in unless she confirms their ID, got it. But...maybe I should stand OUTSIDE the room then? Or..." He looked at the wall. "Crack the door open? I guess you're right, this'll be irregular...at any rate, babysit politician, crack door open to let her confirm their ID or something. Got it." San Francisco: streets Victor felt the evil presence...but continued to pray, silently, the pale, yet strong light still shining, offering reprieve... San Francisco International Airport "You say that every time I bring it up! You're no fun!! Nyeeeeeh!" Avril Deveaux answered Nanami's 'enthusiasm' with a sour face, sticking her tongue out at the other woman. Unlike Nanami, Avril's enthusiasm was not lessened after the long flight on the passenger plane. Not that Nanami ever really showed enthusiasm like Avril did, either. "Just don't complain to me when you're sixty and living alone in a house with like twenty cats..." she then quickly added, before following Nanami as they headed towards the exit of the airport. ====== Meanwhile, outside of the airport, another person was standing... This was another blonde woman, but this one was not carrying any luggage. Instead, she was looking up into the sky, like she was sensing something. Before Nanami and Avril had reached the exit to the airport, this woman had already disappeared, as a streak of white and purple started hopping across the rooftops... |

[San Francisco International Airport] “I like cats.” Nanami replied as the two headed through the airport. She hurried towards the front door, and out into the cool breeze. She looked around the parking lot for a moment, before a frown crossed her face. “… I told him to have a car waiting for us. I don’t want to rent one.” Nanami frowned. She would rather keep her name off legal documents as much as possible – plus she had never actually returned a rented car in acceptable condition. [San Francisco Streets] The intense aura of evil was getting stronger… and as it did, Captain Marvel, Ben and Victor might notice that the cultist was starting to pulsate. His skin was practically bubbling and his hair was starting to fall out; as if the power was too much for his body… [London: Diplomatic Building] “There’s some complications. Nothing you have to worry about.” Rumlow said. The STRIKE Leader was not known as a particularly sociable SHIELD agent. “It’s better if you’re in the room, Agent. We can’t rule out the possibility of someone trying to get in through the window.” Rumlow explained, and then he motioned to the two STRIKE agents and headed off down the hall, leaving Didymus alone in front of the door. |

San Francisco-Streets Victor actually stepped forward, still praying, though his voice now grew louder as he clutched his combat cross to his chest. He was actually APPROACHING the cultist, as the cross, too, began to glow with that pale light, and he held it up...pressing it onto the cultist's forehead! London: Diplomatic Building Didymus nodded and knocked on the door. "Ma'am? I've been assigned to keep watch here, they say it's better if I step inside..." he opened the door and stepped into the room. |
