London

-Diplomatic Building-

“Right... I'll go first.”

Edda jumped into the other room, keeping low and doing a roll before coming up, bringing his gun to bear. If no enemies were present, he'd continue on for a moment then motion for Topaz to move while he covered her.

San Francisco

-Condemned Apartments-

“A vampire? So, what, get some stakes, some garlic... maybe steal his left sock...” Ben suggested, thinking over ways to fight a vampire.

“Still... it wouldn't be just you. We're heroes, we want to help,” Billy added. “Fighting evil cultists seems right up my alley.”

New York City

-Bank-

Iron Man struggled, landing on the ground and focusing, trying to contain the blades. Spider-Man looked around, trying to think. If those blades got out, a lot of people could get hurt. But...

“Everyone, into the vault!” Spider-Man yelled suddenly, swinging towards the people, “It's reenforced, it should keep you safe! Hurry, before Iron Man can't contain this creep!”

-S.H.I.E.L.D. Field Office-

“Hmmm? No, this is a separate project,” Aboy said, shaking her head, “I was checking your glasses manually. I could scan it, if you'd prefer me to do that.”

She picked up a small device, waving it towards him.

[London: Diplomatic Building]

“Apparently I do.” The Doctor replied, his voice slightly grumpy. He turned his head for a moment as if he were about to unleash some great rant at Rumi, but he realized it would do little actual good to direct it at her.

They turned a corridor and appeared before a security door. The Doctor stepped forward and knocked on it once, and then called out: “Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, open the door.”

There was a pause, and a moment later the door did slide open – and several SHIELD Agents aimed their assault rifles directly at the Doctor and Rumi. The Doctor scoffed, and pushed past them.

“Oh, yes, brilliant! Fold UNIT into SHIELD. First contact with aliens, let’s put the Americans in charge. I’m glad your father isn’t here to see this.”

At the far end of the room, Kate Stewart stepped forward with a curious expression on her face. It was halfway between utter fury and complete amusement. She raised a cautious eyebrow.

“… When did you meet the Brigadier?” She asked quietly.

“We were in the London Underground, there were robot Yetis controlled by the Great Intelligence. For some idiotic reason I was wearing a fur coat. I was young and stupid in those days.” The Doctor shook his head.

Kate immediately rushed forward. “You’ll pardon my lack of manners, Doctor, but what the hell have you been? Ten years! Aliens, super powers, and a technological revolution and all the while not a trace of you. I thought you were dead.”

The Doctor paused, and the anger he’d held a moment ago abated. He shrugged his shoulders. “I had to go. It was for your own good.”

“Just what the hell does that mean?” Kate demanded.

“Nevermind,” The Doctor shook his head. “We have time to discuss that later. For now we have more important matters at hand.”

There was another explosion outside.

[…]

Captain America looked around the battlefield, trying to get a lay of the situation. He quickly turned to Didymus and Garnet and then nodded his head.

“They have most of the advances. Firepower, numbers, and we can’t break out the big guns without risking serious civilian casualties – but we know what they’re after. They want the diplomats… we can use that.”

Steve didn’t like the idea forming in his head, but it was the best chance they had. “We need to get word to the SHIELD teams. We fall back, make it look like we’re trying to move the diplomats out in the underground tunnels. The robots follow us down there and we can engage them. Close quarters, they won’t be able to use their big guns without blowing themselves apart. We get the upper hand.”

He frowned. “Just one problem, we have to convince the we have the diplomats.”

“They’re after me.” Garnet spoke up. “I’m the Princess of Alexandria. If we let them see me with the two of you, they’ll come for us for sure.”

Cap’s frown deepened. It was what he was thinking too – but it was a huge risk. He opened his mouth to speak, but Garnet cut him off.

“I know how dangerous it is, but our only other option is a long and drawn out battle which will have much higher casualties. Besides… Agent Didymus has protected me, and now we have you. Would I really be any safer hidden away with the others?”

[San Francisco: Kaiju Corp]

“No islands.” Nanami shook her head. “We need to keep the Obelisk as far from water as possible. If that thing released Terragen Mist anywhere near the city, we’d be looking at hundreds of thousands of casualties.”

Nanami shuddered for a moment as she remembered that day years ago when she was just a child. Walking through the smoking rubble, stumbling over piles of gray dust that she now knew had been people…

She closed her eyes and forced away the memories. “Do what you have to do, Marco, this is important.”

[San Francisco: Condemned Apartments]

“I can sense auras.” Raven explained. “Everything with any connection to the supernatural has an invisible aura about them. Yours is quite prominent, Victor. A light so white it would be blinding if I actually ‘saw’ it with my eyes.”

She shook her head slightly. “The cult leader… I saw him just once. At least, part of him. He was in a limo at the time, but I saw a blood red aura that radiated out of the vehicle and all across the street. He was a vampire, there’s no doubt about that… and he’s unbelievably powerful.”

[New York: Bank]

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

Vanko let out a terrible scream as his armor suddenly began to spark. Electricity fired off from every direction and suddenly, with a blinding flash, it burst into flames. The knives fell to the ground around him as he, screaming all the while, pushed the armor off his body.

“Why!? Why!? I did what you asked! I did what you asked!” Vanko was screaming from the pain as he rolled on the ground in a desperate attempt to extinguished the flames. Iron Man’s barrier was still up, keeping Vanko and the flames inside.

"Then how...? when...? ... ...what?"

Phazon then sat back down in his chair, and if they weren't hidden behind his sunglasses, one would probably almost see his eyes spinning in confusion.

London: Diplomatic Building

"Hey, cool it with the guns, 'kay?" Rumi followed the Doctor into the room, pushing away one of the ones pointed at her.

San Francisco: Kaiju Corp

"An isolated island would at least keep it away from anyone innocent if it accidentally or inten-" Marco quickly started to respond, at least until he saw how Nanami was reacting, and he quickly stopped.

He closed his eyes, and silently made his way over to the Obelisk, closing the case around it. He could not even begin to imagine what either Nanami or Avril had experienced when those events occurred. Nor even if he asked and got an answer, could he really understand the full impact. Not that he would ask, even if Avril seemed to be the type of person who might answer if he actually did ask. The only way he wanted to know about any of that, would be if either of them decided they wanted to.

"I know."

He then made his way over to a safe that was in one corner of the workshop, and punched in the combination to open it. He then threw a wad of cash to Avril, and then pulled out a somewhat strange yet rugged looking cell phone from the safe, before closing and locking it again. Taking the phone, he then proceeded to make a few phone calls.

London: Diplomatic Building

A phone began ringing from within the conference room everyone had barricaded themselves in, until Rumi pulled a cell phone out of her pocket, and then answered it.

"I wasn't expecting YOU to call again so soon. ... ... You need ANOTHER one? Isn't a rent-free hotel room in San Fran enough? ... ... Ooooooooooooooooh~! So that's how it is ~♥ ... ... Yep I can make sure you have the perfect private retreat~♥. And I might even let you two lovebirds be, while you're there, too~! Hahaha! ... ... Hahahaha! I'd love to see ya try! ... ... Hey, don't try and make me mad when I'm the one doing you the favor here! Hahaha! ... ... I'll text you the info in a few. Byee~!"

And with that, Rumi hung up the phone.

San Francisco: Condemned Apartments

"Most 'real' vampires aren't that easy to kill," Arcueid answered Ben's commentary with a laugh.

"The people who make those kinds of movies are very impressive, though, to make stories about vampires without actually knowing how many of them are!" her face lightened up considerably, as she remembered back to some of the times she had with Shiki.

Though another thought came to her mind, quickly changing her mood.

"...A couple of them are really bad, though," she then added, now actually looking quite offended.

"Vampires don't sparkle..." she trailed off, only returning to 'reality' when Raven started talking about the cult's leader.

"but I saw a blood red aura that radiated out of the vehicle and all across the street. He was a vampire, there’s no doubt about that… and he’s unbelievably powerful.”

"Yeah, that seems about right, though... If he is that powerful, it's surprising that there isn't more vampiric activity in this city"

-Bank-

When the whirling blades finally stopped, Iron Man dropped the shield around Vanko. The flames rose up, and the bank's fire suppression system went off, spouting out water all over.

“Awww, man, you know how hard it is to dry these things out?” Spider-Man said, sighing as he was drenched.

-S.H.I.E.L.D. Field Office-

Aboy frowned at Phazon, then sighed, taking off her lab coat and putting on a regular coat.

“Just come on. There's a good pizza place not to far from here, if you want pizza,” Aboy said, shaking her head, looking amused.

San Francisco

-Condemned Apartment-

“No, I think the left sock thing wo-” Ben started, stopping when Billy punched him in the arm.

“I think what Ben meant to say is, we have experience fighting demons and... other unworldly things,” Billy said, thinking it would be best not to mention 'aliens' right now. “You said earlier you can't keep running. You can't stop. You can't fight. But there are people, like us, who would want to stop these bad guys anyways. Either you keep doing what you're doing, or try something else.”

[London: Diplomatic Building]

"So what do we tell them? We got our asses handed to us by a giant doombot before it just decided to explode?" Chloe asked, rubbing her back and following the boy

[New York: Streets]

“I’m not exactly the ideal federal employee, but that doesn’t mean I’m stupid enough to go blabbing classified information to a woman on the streets – even an exceptionally pretty one.

Kanna pouted a bit, poking her lip out. " You make me sound so sketchy. I'm just a pretty girl looking for a good time. Nothing more unless you want there to be"

The two then stopped, Kanna looking up at the massive building

“What matters is that I get paid very well for what I do.”

"How the hell do I get a job doing what you're doing" Kanna muttered hypothetically, clearly impressed by the grandeur of it all.

[San Francisco: Condemned Apartments]

"Ben may not look like the world's best option in defense, but he's not half bad actually" Jade added with a slight grin. "And there's always us to help in case he get's himself beat too quickly"

After all Jade had LOTS of experience with the whole 'fighting-demons' thing.

Didymus paused.

"Why don't we actually get the others out, first? Maybe distract them first, then...I don't know. But there's no guarentee that they won't use their big guns-and as an aside, what? These things have more than just frickin' machine gun fingers?! ...anyway, they showed little restraint in trying to get at us before. There's no guarantee they won't use their major artillery when in close quarters. And next question, especially if you want to do this with no one else...what do we do when they allegedly play into our hands and, you know, show up for us? All of them. En mass. I haven't studied the underground tunnels enough to know if there's a good choke point." he said.

"And finally, is there maybe a way we can get Lady Garnet to safety BEFORE they get to us? I mean, even IF this works out like you're thinking, that still means many bullets. Very dangerous. We can stack the deck in the mission's favor that much more, at least, if we get her out before they show up."

If I'm going to freaking die I'd prefer it to be for a successful rather than a failed mission, at least, I suppose...

He chuckled, softly but grimly, and shook his head a bit.

San Francisco: condenmed apartment

Victor raised an eyebrow at Arcueid.

"Most real vampires are easy enough to kill, in ways exactly alike or at least similar-" he patted his combat cross "to what is shown in more...classic...tales. We've tried to make sure people know that much should they be cornered." he said, and didn't comment on her wondering why there wasn't more vampire activity in San Francisco, but he couldn't deny there was an urge to say something...

"Charging in an attempting to fight them with the very power they seek to harness, the very power they worship, is the wrong idea in the long run. The more you depend on it, the deeper its hooks will sink into you." he said.

"And deep as they already are, trust me, you can ill afford that."

"Perhaps, for some, but I doubt this one will be like those," Arcueid answered Victor.

"It sounds like this Cult of Blood may be led by one of the Twenty Seven Shito Ancestors, or was made to benefit one..."

"It's surprising to see so many people together who apparently have experience with the unnatural... Though the last time I thought I found someone like that, all they were actually, was a simple high school student!" Arcueid began giggling as she reminisced.

New York: S.H.I.E.L.D. Field Office

Phazon shook off his confusion (and worries over Aboy's computer scanning abilities), and nodded along.

"Pizza sounds great to me!" he answered Aboy, before getting back up and following her as she left.

[Latvaria: Dr. Doom’s Castle]

In the heart of a 16th century castle was a distinctively 21st century room. Massive computer banks stood in every corner, cooled by powerful machines that made the entire room a frigid temperature. In the middle, seated on a luxurious throne made of gold and ivory, a man sat and watched numerous computer screens.

The man wore vivid green garments and held a solid gold chalice in one hand. On the screen was the display of a live battle happening in London – as massive machines fought against SHIELD. He sipped the chalice.

“This is unacceptable.” He noted as one of the machines was brutally crushed by Captain America. “Completely unacceptable.”

His eyes lingered on the people on screen. It was a young woman with black hair, wearing a white suit. Garnet til Alexandros IX was the heir of neighboring Alexandria and the key to his plans. He needed her as leverage. She was the only prize valuable enough to get what he needed from the royal family.

“… Damn you, SHIELD. Now I truly have no choice but to invade and take it by force. You have doomed hundreds of thousands to death.”

Victor von Doom stood up, and walked out of the room as a man with purpose.

[New York: Bank]

“I have to admit, that’s impressive.” Spider-Woman said as she glanced over at Iron Man. She elbowed Spider-Man in the rib. “You built web-shooters, he built that. We need to up our game.”

“I’d say you all do.”

One of the hostages, a man with a gray goatee and glasses, stood up. He adjusted the black tie on his white suit and stared out at the various heroes inside the bank. He strolled forward, and showed no fear as he glanced around. His eyes moved from Iron Man, to Spider-Man, to Spider-Woman and over to the door.

“Frankly I’m more intrigued by some of the people outside. There’s a woman near the rear entrance who is especially interesting. I do wish she had joined in…”

The man began walking towards Vanko, and Spider-Woman moved to block his path. “Whoa, who are you and what the heck are you talking about?”

“Allow me to explain. This little ‘robbery’ was simply a test. There’s been so much Metahuman activity in New York lately… and I needed to see who would show up and try to ‘save’ the day.”

“A test?” Spider-Woman blinked. “Are you crazy? People could have been hurt – people could have died!”

“It was worth the risk. Let me ask you so-called heroes… is this how you believe your gifts should be used? To foil a bank robbery? Seems like a waste to me.”

[New York: Apartment Building]

“I’m afraid SHIELD isn’t in the habit of hiring people off the streets.” Rica replied – but then he paused for a moment as a very cryptic grin spread across his face. “Well… at least not normal people. We do make exceptions for the exceptional.”

He led her in, walking past the doorman who tried to avoid eye contact with Rica. He led her to an elevator which he had to unlock with a key, and then they went up to the top floor.

At the end of a hallway was a lavishly furnished apartment – a massive TV, several desks, a couch, bookshelves and a fully stocked bar in the corner.

[San Francisco: Condemned Apartment]

"Charging in an attempting to fight them with the very power they seek to harness, the very power they worship, is the wrong idea in the long run. The more you depend on it, the deeper its hooks will sink into you."

“I don’t disagree, but I also don’t have a choice but to fight… although I don’t think I want to go charging in at all.” Raven replied, slowly shaking her head.

She paused. These people wanted to help her… and they seemed like maybe they could. Victor and Arcueid both seemed to know a lot about the enemies she faced – although from vastly different perspectives. Ben, Jade and Billy seemed like they had their own knowledge and skills and maybe, just maybe…

“Okay. Okay… if you really want to help, then… then we need to investigate the cult. We can’t attack them until we know what we’re really dealing with.”

[San Francisco: Kaiju Corp]

Nanami raised an eyebrow at Marco’s side of the conversation.

“… Something I should know?”

[London: Diplomatic Building]

The Doctor turned and glared at Rumi. “Ohh, don’t tell me you’re arranging a date. Of course you are… robots attacking, a war about to break out and SHIELD making a mess of things – no offense, Kate – and you’re arranging a date.”

He shook his head. “There are some things I’ll never figure out about you humans.”

[…]

“Ideally we would get her out first – but that’s not a possibility.” Steve shook his head. “They have the perimeter locked down, and even if we get past them, they’ll follow her – and that brings this fight out into the streets of London. If we take her to the same area the diplomats are held up in, that might buy a little safety, but if they’re truly after her…”

He shook his head. “I don’t like any of our options, but this may be the best we have. As for what we do once they’re in the tunnels…

Cap patted a pouch on his belt. “I came prepared. I don’t like relying on gadgets more complex than my shield, but Fitz is a good guy and I think this will work.”

There was an explosion from a few feet away as a couple of the machines flew through the air near them.

“We’re out of time. We’ve got to move!”

Didymus would have spoken-there still seemed like there were huge flaws with this plan, especially if the tunnels were blocked off.

"...I'll need to find more ammo. And...so what now, then? Let's move, I guess. To the tunnels, if you really think this will work..."

...here goes...Father? You watching? Please...just...if this is my time, may I face it with honor and faith...and may it not be in vain...

San Francisco: condemned apartment

Victor paused.

"Investigate? Yes, a good idea-but do you have leads? I may be able to consult a few..." he said. "Still, are you sure they don't WANT you to come to them?"

He was still incredibly wary about the others at this gathering-Raven, Arcueid, even Jade and Ben and Billy!

But this could be a breakthrough on hunting the Cult of Blood once again, and he could not look away from a situation involving a girl like Raven...

- Diplomatic Building-

Edda darted forward, heading for the stairs up to the next floor so they could find Martha.

“Clear,” Edda called back to Topaz, looking around and getting ready in case something popped up.

New York City

-Bank-

“Okay, please don't tell me this is Doc Ock going around being the Master Planner again or something like that...” Spider-Man said, pinching the the bridge of his nose over his mask.

“It was worth the risk. Let me ask you so-called heroes… is this how you believe your gifts should be used? To foil a bank robbery? Seems like a waste to me.”

“Oh, you know, great power, blah blah blah, great responsibility,” Spider-Man then answered idly, “So you're testing something with that guy, and what not?”

Iron Man was scanning the man, trying to get any information on him, having Pepper attempt a background check if possible.

Spider-Man dropped down to the floor now, taking a couple steps towards the man, then held his arms up, “Okay, so, do you mind monologuing? It's a great way for the villain to distract themselves.”

“COWABUNGA!”

Turtle Titan jumped forward from his hiding spot, leaping at the man with the gray goatee, swinging his nunchucks!

-Streets-

Aboy smiled as she and Phazon headed off, walking down the street. After a moment she leaned to the side, taking Phazon's arm and holding it, blushing slightly.

“I hope you don't mind...” she said softly.

[London: Diplomatic Building]

At the far end of the hallway, one of the robots was lying in a junk heap. A woman stood over it holding a very large gun in one hand, and a cell phone in the other. She paused when her eyes fell on Edda and Topaz.

“I was wondering if anyone else was out,” Martha Jones frowned as she ran over. “These things are everywhere!”

[…]

“Here,” Cap grabbed a pack from his belt and tossed it to Didymus. “Afraid it’s only for your sidearm, but it’s AP rounds. I can manage without my gun. I’ll lead the way with the shield, Princess you follow behind, and Didymus you behind her and keep watch.”

Soon they were heading towards the far end of the yard, where a hatch would take them to the tunnels. Once they arrived, Cap picked up the heavy hatch as if it were nothing and then looked up at the machines.

“We’re going to have to get their attention…”

[New York: Bank]

As the Turtle Titan’s nunchaku came sailing towards his face, the man with the goatee raised his arm and caught it as if it were the easiest thing in the world. Without even turning his head towards the Turtle Titan, he spoke.

“Come now, that’s hardly a proper strike. I would expect someone who uses a ninja weapon to be better than that.”

Meanwhile, Tony’s scan picked up a very unusual feature about the man – his right eye was made of glass.

Pepper’s search of every database they could get access too did find a result. The army service record of a Lieutenant Colonel named Slade Wilson. He had been a soldier in Afghanistan, who later volunteered for an experiment trying to recreate ‘Project Rebirth’.

After an incident with his wife that robbed him of his eye, Slade was discharged with honors and disappeared from public view.

[San Francisco: Condemned Building]

“I wish I had better leads. All I know is that the cult has several important people among their members. Local politicians, CEOs, police officers – it’s how they’ve managed to stay off the grid. Whether these people are willingly serving them or under some kind of control, I don’t know.”

Raven raised an eyebrow as Ben mentioned the shop. “I suppose it’s as good a place to start as any.”

[Bank Back Alley]

Alita was listening.

Unlike the normal person, Alita was a cyborg. With most of her senses hyper-tuned by the man who created her body, she could make out the tiniest vibrations, the smallest of noises as long as she focused. The martial art she was proficient in just amplified that ability to such enormous levels that she was often more correct than specially designed listening devices. She used this exceptional sense of hearing and tactile touch to monitor what was happening in the bank. It wasn't perfect, since she could not see what was happening, but she could easily listen in on conversations and keep track of movements.

Like Cole, who had moved further up to the bank while Alita remained at the corner, listening.

She made note of the halt in battle when something happened to the more stationary figure, and then suddenly another fight erupted with... One of the civilians? No, that couldn't be right... Or was it? Meta-humans had some strange powers, could that stationary figure somehow moved into one of the civilians? No, that was too much of an assumption to make without further proof. But they were indeed fighting a different target now.

And that speech... What WAS going on in there?

She brought a hand up to her ear, tapping behind it once and speaking.

"... Jagan? Something is off about the situation inside."

The reply was immediate and snappy. "Report."

Alita focused on her hearing again for a second. "... I hear a different fight starting up. The original assailant has been neutralized somehow, and there is another man currently fighting the vigilante meta-humans. I honestly don't know why, but apparently they are fighting one of the civilian hostages now."

"Civilian?" Jagan's voice was questioning, but after a moment of silence, he continued. "... Your orders have not changed, Alita. Remain behind the bank and keep track of the movements of all the meta-humans and vigilantes inside of the bank. Pay special interest to the new combat target. Otherwise, do not engage unless combat spills from inside the building and into the streets."

Alita huffed. "Gotcha." She tapped behind her ear again, and sighed, glaring down the alley to where she could hear the sirens. "No fun, that guy."

Didymus took the extra rounds.

"You SURE you don't need them?" he asked. "I'd hate to be the one who deprives you of crucial ammunition..."

Most everyone would hate me if that happened. I may not be the most popular guy, but outright HATRED the world over would be new to me...

He couldn't help, perhaps, but be a bit self-conscious when Cap lifted the heavy hatch-Garnet just HAD to be checking out this chiseled, serum-injected "superhero"-he had to blink, in hopes of clearing his head of those thoughts. Being the center of her attention, so to speak, was nice while it lasted, he thought. And hey, he had a story to tell now. Still, he didn't know how this would all turn out...

"Well, dropping down there would certainly get their attention. So would shooting at them. You didn't bring any grenades that could take those things down, though, did you? That would be ideal in this situation."

[...]

Topaz kept vigilant.

"Ma'am!" she said. "We were sent to find you. The doc thinks you can punch through the comms blackout! ...um, can you?"

San Francisco-Raven's apartment

"I have...contacts...I can reach out to. They could provide us with some guidance..." he said. "...as well as backup."

He wouldn't mind having a few more SAINT, or even Order, members with him in this group, not at all...

[New York: Bank]

Seeing Slade easily catch the nunchaku, Spider-Woman jumped forward, swinging from the ceiling and heading towards him with both feet forward for a powerful kick – but Slade moved with speed and grace that defied his age, and he jumped aside so that Gwen’s kick hit the Turtle Titan.

“Sorry!” Spider-Woman yelled out.

Slade moved across the room, grabbing something from inside his jacket and then he tossed it to the wall. There was an explosion and the wall fell apart, leaving an enormous hole to the back alley.

“Perhaps the threat of collapsing the support structure and sending the roof onto everyone in the bank will motivate you so-called heroes to get off your lazy asses and show some spirit!” Slade called out.

[…]

Out front, as the explosion sounded, the cops all became nervous. Some of them started forward at the door – and while the cops and civilians were entangled in a mass of chaos, the blonde man slipped past them all and started towards the bank back alley…

[London: Diplomatic Building]

“I learned not to rely on my gun a long time ago.” Cap explained as he threw aside the hatch. “Supply lines were compromised by Hydra and ammo reserves were low. Had to get creative and I realized the shield could be an even more effective weapon.”

Steve briefly paused for a minute, and then shook his head. “Hard to believe that was eighty years ago.”

He turned towards one of the robots in the corner of the compound and aimed his gun, firing a few times and watching as its arm burst into sparks from the AP rounds. Then he nodded towards the tunnel.

“I’ve got something better than grenades, but for now we need to move. They’re coming!”

He was right. Several of the robots had now taken notice and were flying straight towards them!

[…]

Martha blinked. “That explains why backup was so slow to arrive.”

She shook her head. “I’ve got a phone that always works… but I looked outside. Saw someone jump down from the sky. I think it was Captain Rogers.”

She turned towards them. “Still, we should get down to the diplomatic center.”

[…]

The Doctor narrowed his eyes at Rumi.

“I can always take you back to your hotel and leave you there.”

The very last thing he needed was someone who was going to meddle around and try to invent a love-life for him. Then memories of a frizzy-haired woman with a gun, and a blonde girl on a beach, and the Doctor gritted his teeth.

“Now pay attention to the killer robots.” The Doctor felt a bit strange, and intrigued. It wasn’t often he had to say that.

[San Francisco: Abandoned Apartments]

“If you can.” Raven nodded in agreement. “But for now our best bet may be to try this… shop.”

Her voice was skeptical on both accounts. It usually was for almost all things. She doubted that Victor’s backup could help them too much, and she was far from certain than some ‘magic shop’ would be anything but a waste of time.

… but she supposed it was all worth a slight try.

[San Francisco: Kaiju Corp]

Nanami’s eyebrow stayed raised. “Whatever. As long as you got a place, then we should start putting things into action.”

Nanami was never one to take things slowly.
