District III

-Cadet Training Facility-

“Hmmm... let me guess, was one of those older hands a dark haired girl with red eyes?” Old Man Sensei asked, “Don't take it too personally from Miss Nanami. She is under quite a bit of pressure.”

While I'm not sure if it's common knowledge that Nanami is the Princess, I feel like it would be something that OMS would know.

“As for the window, don't worry about it. I have a couple rowdy trainees who can fix it. I've been needing something for them to do,” Old Man Sensei said, rubbing his chin, “But, as for your training, well I'm no longer in your chain of command.”

He got up and stretched a little, “Why don't you accompany over to talk to Miyamoto? I can hand over the paperwork to him and you can meet your new boss.”

Hammah nodded, “I think he's somewhere here...”

He looked around, then sighed, hanging his head. The training facility was huge, even bigger then the nearby town, with barracks, open fields, various training places, and even a small forested area for help with training the 3D Gear.

-Training Facility: 3D Gear Test Site-

“Augh, what do you mean I wasn't fast enough?!” Jimi scowled, looking at the other soldier who was timing him.

“Sorry kid, but you're fast, definitely up there, but you're not breaking the other guy's record,” the soldier said, shrugging, “Maybe you should take a break, you've done this course ten times already.”

Jimi sighed, sitting down, “Maybe... I need to gas back up anyways for this gear...”

-Town-

Paul nodded, being silent for now.

Edda was... odd. He disliked fighting, but due to the monsters he often had to face, and the fact Edda seemed able to adapt to situations easily, he was one of the top members of the Survey team, but that's not why he had joined them.

Edda had wanted to explore. He wanted to see what was beyond the next hill, what the next horizon would bring. And the only way to really do that was the Survey Corps...

“Might be more people in town then usual,” Paul signed, “It's about time we get people from outlying areas coming to the market and all that.”

Aiden stirred a pot, looking towards her mother who was looking over a wound. Several people had lined up for some stew that she was making for people who lived on the margins here in District III. It was, technically, free, but many of the people traded anyways. Mostly things they made or grew, or occasionally services, such as fixing their wagon or getting them a better deal on other supplies.

They also gave out stew to any of the military from the training facility, or those on the Defense Corps on the wall.

District I

-Aristocratic Manor-

“That would be correct,” Claire answered, nodding slightly, glancing away from Mustang and looking over the party, “From what I know about you, Colonel, you seem to be an ambitious man. Forgive me for asking, but what is your goal? Do you want a nice cushy job near the top, where you won't have to see combat? I know quite a few Elite members seek that, even if they don't say they do. But you... no... You want something else, I can tell. I'm curious as to what your motivation is. Usually those idealists who wish to truly prove themselves heroic go to the Survey Corps, and sadly get themselves killed.”

District Three

Streets

Jason and Melanie followed Lily and Galv to their wagon where their mother (and a small baby) were. Melanie stayed close to her brother, but by her expression she was very excited to be around people for once. Jason, on the other hand, was not as excited. He was in a hurry, and still had no clue what he was going to do with Melanie when they got to the training facility.

“Why hello there Melanie. If you need some water, we have some in back. Galv, why don't you be a gentleman and get her some?”

"Say thank you Melanie" Jason said softly when Galv came back with the canteen.

"T-Thank you!" she said with a smile, taking a very long drink. Jason continued to watch the girl, still seemingly cautious about everything.

Once Melanie was done she gave a smile, handing it back to him, empty. "S-Sorry, I think I drank it all"

Jason sighed, reaching in his pocket for some coins, offering them to Levina. "How much do I owe for it?" he asked.

"Ambitious, yes. But I'd say most men who choose to be in the military are, wouldn't you? We're all just trying to climb a ladder here." He smirked. He didn't want to show is hand. Not yet. Mustang nodded a bit, looking..a little sad. "I saw many die beyond the wall to try to protect this society. I nearly died a number of times, too." But he hadn't. He had earned a reputation as a hero, as it was, and many people recognized him. "You want to know what motivates me? Every day behind me."

District 3

Town

Jericho scowled a bit. "It is about that time, isn't it? Tradespeople, farmers, etc. Everyone comes to the market to barter and trade." Jericho had nothing on him worth trading. He had a pocket watch inscribed with the symbol of the government - an old heirloom passed down his family. That was all he really had besides junk and metal and skill.

He approached a market stall before taking out a pen and writing on a small notebook. He ripped out and began to haggle with the owner of the market stall.

Shipper stood in the soup line nearby. He walked up to the pair. "Miss Fayre! Nice to see you again. I smelled your cooking all the way over at the forge." Shipper grinned cheerfully. He was a regular. "And Aiden! How are you? You look as nice as usual."

He cleared his throat. "I didn't forget! I owe ya for the food, I've been skimping out on tabs heheh.." He held out a silver necklace. "Ta-da! I don't get to make jewelry a lot, so it isn't really all that great." He rubs the back of his head, embarrassed slightly.

District III: Town

Didymus sighed. He was on his way back to his residence, soon, or perhaps back to his post...

...but first, supper. He didn't really like the idea of discount stew on the go, but...there were little more time-efficient options at this point.

He sighed, depressed by how this day had gone and how the near future looked, but got in line, fingering some money. He could at least try to pay for it...

[District One]

[Aristocratic Manor]

“My name is Rica.” He introduced himself, as usually saying as little as possible. Rica enjoyed a certain level of secrecy and anonymity. It was essential for his job, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t let his name slip for a pretty woman.

[District Two]

[Lara’s Workshop]

Lara grumbled a bit, halfway between wondering if she should turn this girl in, or if she should allow her to hide. Ultimately she decided that if she DID turn in Chloe then the police might make a mess of her workshop.

“Ugh.” Lara groaned as she approached the door and opened it. She spoke with the police officer for a while, and after a few minutes he left. She closed the door behind him and leaned against the wall, letting out an enormous sigh.

“You can come out now.” She called. “And you’d better not have stolen anything!”

[Streets]

Verity paused for a moment, raising an eyebrow. This was a bit strange… maybe this girl was connected to things after all.

“Alright. I’ll accept, for now at least.” Verity said simply. “Lead the way.”

[District Three]

[Cadet Training Facility]

“He’s in his office.” Musashi said simply, leaning back against the wall and sliding his hands behind his head. “But I should warn you, he’s in a bad mood today.”

District III

-Streets-

“Nothing, don't worry about it. We have a well right by our house,” Levina said, shaking her head, “My husband and I can spare it no problem.”

She smiled, bouncing Elizabeth slightly who grinned in her mother's arms, “Where are you two off to? The market?”

-Town-

Paul nodded to a couple people, who nodded back and bagged some food for him, Paul handing over money. He was a regular in the area, as Edda was often here as part of the Survey team.

“Shipper, you know you don't need to pay,” Aiden said, frowning slightly as she looked at the necklace. It was really pretty though... “Just pay it forward!”

“If you really want to make it up to us, you can look over our left front wheel later,” Loralee spoke up, “It's rattling and neither Aiden nor I can really fix it.”

Aiden's mother paused as she saw Didymus stepping forward now, shaking her head, “No, no payment from you. You soldiers put your life on the line for us, soldiers eat for free, they've already paid as far as we're concerned.”

-Cadet Training Facility-

“What a coincidence, so is Nanami. I'm sure they'll commiserate well,” Ila said, with part of a smirk on her face, knowing Nanami wouldn't much appreciate the joke, but not really caring.

-District II-

-Aboy's Office-

Aboy lead Verity to her office, which wasn't too far from where they were. It was small, with most of the room dedicated to a couple large rooms, a waiting area and the actual room where she tended to patients. Right now no one was here, being Aboy's day off to do errands.

Every now and then she considered moving to District III... Not because it would be better, but because she felt like she could do more good there. Not to mention that Fire and Miji were their now, and she knew at least Miji had been considering the Survey Corps...

There was some stairs that lead up to the second floor, where Aboy actually lived.

“Would you care for some tea?” Aboy asked, looking towards Verity, “And over that maybe you can explain who you're looking for?”

Verity didn't seem like the kind of crazy who would go for one's throat, at least. Just... odd.

District I

-Aristocratic Manor-

Claire gave a small smirk, “I see. Admirable, I suppose.”

She took a sip of her drink, looking around the party for a moment, giving another glance towards Kanna and Rica.

“Have you met the King, before?” Claire then asked, “I know he sometimes likes to talk to the soldiers, though The Council scarcely lets him leave District I nowadays.”

Didymus held up a hand.

"Please, this is good work, too."

He placed the money-notably more than what a serving would normally be priced at-in front of Loralee.

"...let me do my good deed for the day. Would ya?" he grinned weakly.

District I

"Rica....Well nice to meet you...Do you have a last name?" she asked, raising a brow. She wondered if this man would be one of her fellow guards...Or someone she'd eventually be contracted to protect. Though this man stuck her as one of those guys who wouldn't let a girl protect him.

"What's a scruffy looking man like you doing at a party like this?" she asked with a slight grin.

District II

“You can come out now. And you’d better not have stolen anything!”

Chloe gave a sigh, stepping out and instantly grinning at the other girl. "Thanks! That was close...And don't worry I didn't take anything! Not like there was anything to take anyways..."

The girl paused and gave a quick laugh "Kidding kidding! But really thanks for the save, here for your trouble"

Chloe pulled out some bills and handed them to Laura once more. "This is not the stolen money, I promise. I always carry a bit of my own cash"

Though she really didn't have much of her own. Which is exactly why she stole.

District III

“Where are you two off to? The market?”

Jason gave a little frown, hesitant to tell the woman anything. Their mother had warned them against doing any if this....Of course she did LEAVE them AGAIN. So he really didn't need to take Kanna's advice. The preteen shook his head. "The Cadet facility. I just got accepted. Our mom left for a couple days I think...So my little sister had to come with me. She's too sick to stay alone-"

"I was suuuuposed to start school, but now we have to do this" Melanie pipped up with a little frown. "And i'm not sick! I'm fine now!"

Jason groaned. "Fine Mel, but you still can't stay alone."

[District I: Aristocratic Manor]

Rica merely shrugged his shoulders. “I have many names, but this is the one I prefer.”

He adjusted his jacket for a moment, smirking like a maniac as he always did. He turned to her, tilting his head for a moment. “Scruffy? Well I admit I’m not exactly the high-society type, but then I find most of these aristocrat shindigs to be insanely boring.”

He took a drink for a moment and then turned to Kanna. “What about you, dear lady? What brings you to this party?”

[District II – Lara’s Lab]

Lara raised an eyebrow as she accepted the bills. She had a bad feeling that this money was stolen, but at the same time it was expensive in the city and her research ate up most of her money.

“Yeah, yeah, don’t thank me, just don’t make a mess of my lab, alright?” Lara sighed as she leaned back against the wall. “So… who ARE you, anyway?”

[District II – Aboy’s Office]

Verity looked around the room for a moment, adjusting her glasses as he examined the place. She walked around in a circle for a moment, occasionally tilting her head. It was clearly some kind of doctor’s office.

“Sure, tea sounds good.” Verity agreed with a small smile, before turning her attention to a window and peering out at the city around them. The crowded skyline, the multitudes walking through the busy streets… it brought a slight grin to her face.

“I don’t know who I’m looking for.” Verity sighed, as she at length turned back to Aboy and leaned against the wall with her arms stuffed in the pockets of her trenchcoat. “It’s… complicated. I know there’s someone I’m supposed to find, and I know it’s very important that I do… but I don’t quite understand why, or who.”

District I

"So just Rica then? What kind of person just goes by one name? Makes you sound like you're hiding something"

Despite this the woman continued. "I work here....Well I will be working here soon. I think the only reason I was invited was to get a taste for the high life before being reminded that I only get to guard them. Which is a shame considering all these rich snobs have the best liquor. Pitty for it to go to waste on such unrefined palates."

District II

Chloe nodded, now extending her hand. It was dirty...In fact, most of Chloe was. She probably needed a bath....Or seven. "The name is Chloe Sanchez, but don't tell the cops, I haven't really thought of a good alias yet. Despite the circumstances it's very nice to meet you! I got in a bit of a scrape with some men I met a few weeks back so i'm doing some side work to get back in their good graces." she then motioned to the rest of the money in her pocket "This is part two of three then i'm home free"

This all sounded a bit confusing, even to Chloe....But she didn't have much choice. The streets were rough, even for a girl as tough as her.

“Aren’t we all hiding something?” Rica laughed, leaning back against the wall and watching Kanna from over the tops of his sunglasses. He stepped forward, placing the glass down on the table.

“I see. So you’re a guard. Interesting.” Rica rubbed his chin. “And just how good are you?”

[District II – Lara’s Lab]

“Relax. If I was going to turn you in, I would have already.” Lara said, shaking her head. She sighed a bit. It was understandable why someone would steal in this city. Things were hardly ever perfect… but at least they weren’t closer to the outside wall and the dangers beyond it.

“You seem capable enough, though.” Lara commented, rubbing her chin. “Ever think of getting a real job?”

KxS began to lead Hammah out of the field.

"I have a good feeling he's out training somewhere. I'm just not too sure where," she told him.

Meanwhile, Strobe and Shimera were having a glaring contest. Not a single other word was uttered from either of them.

District III

-Town-

Loralee sighed a little. She was originally from District I, but after marrying Zadkiel she saw District I, and when he died fighting the monsters outside the wall, she decided to dedicate herself to giving aid where she could. She wasn't really a fighter, but there was other good she could do.

But she also did have plenty of money still, to do things like this.

“Money isn't any good,” Loralee said, “Not to me. If you really feel like you should pay us back, then how about a trade? I could use someone to go with my daughter Aiden to pick up some supplies. Having a soldier along would be a relief.”

While many people in the area didn't bother them, knowing their reputation, there was always that chance of a crazy, or a criminal...

And of course, Shipper is more then welcome to tag along...

-Hawkins' Cart-

“Cadet, huh?” Levina said, “I guess they do seem to recruit young... Which division are you hoping to get into?”

Galv paused, looking towards Melanie, then other to Jason.

“School? Mom teaches around here,” Galv said, indicating his mother, “So if you're going to be around here still...”

Levina had taken some time off with Elizabeth for a few years, but now wanted to return to teaching.

-Cadet Training Facility-

“He might be training with the 3D Gear... I heard there was this guy in the Training Corps who was beating a lot of the records on the courses...” Hammah suggested to Kxs.

A zipline hit the ground between Shimera and Strobe, and a tall figure shot down to them.

Edda landed by the girls, looking between them. A longsword was strapped to his back, out of the way of the 3D Gear.

“Hey... Do either of you two know if the Old Man is in his office? I've heard he's been in and out all day,” Edda asked carefully.

District II

-Aboy's Office-

“I see...” Aboy said, “I can't really help you if you don't tell me any more though.”

She was wondering what was up with this girl... She seemed nice enough... if not a bit crazy.

Lavan shook his head at his old teacher's comment about Nanami.

"Pressure or no pressure, it's highly unprofessional to snap at everyone nearby, especially newbies. It fosters a sense of hostility, prevents the newbies from coming by with pertinent questions, and causes hiccups in the chain of command. People are people, not shouting dummies. Being under stress is no excuse."

He sighed, rubbing the back of his head.

"If she apologizes on her own accord, that's another thing. But if she's the type not to apologize either... Well, I hope it doesn't go there. That's not a pleasant chain of circumstances."

He stretched upwards, and then bent over backwards, touching the floor in a very thorough folding stretch.

"Sure, I'll accompany you, old man! I wanted to see my new boss anyways, and hopefully come to an agreement about my usual modus operandi. And besides, it's been a while since I saw Musashi. Would be nice to see him again, maybe see if I can pants the bastard for trying to get me back. Re-establish the pecking order and all, you know?"

He flipped out of the stretch, landing next to the old man, read to follow him at a moment's notice.

"Oh, duh," KxS said to herself, lightly slapping her forehead. "You'd think I would have thought of that. He is one competitive fellow."

She walked ahead. "Come on then, let's see if he's beaten those records!"

The long-haired girls had to step back as the zipline appeared out of nowhere.

Strobe only blinked. She didn't like answering random questions by random people.

Shimera smiled. "I think he's in! I heard someone crash into his window just earlier," she chimed.

Strobe pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and walked off, hoping to avoid any more confrontation.
