I can't see what you're imagining

-Lunar Lounge- “Of course I am nervous about my daughter... Any good mother would be,” Loralee answered, “But I support her decision in this.” She gave a small smile to the reporters, knowing what she really wanted to say, but also knowing that would be a bad idea, “But I have been seeing my husband do this for a while now, and if our daughter even just has half the skill he has, she'll be perfectly fine.” |

Lunar Lounge The reporter continued to nod, trying to keep her cool... "And your husband is a very talented man, so we'd have to agree. But let's talk about their attitudes. They've both expressed no real problems with the Empire's concerns about maintaining the human genome safe from mutagens-yet you've voiced concern that this is improper. With the records of cybrid chemical attacks-and more-in the past two centuries right up until today, wouldn't you say that it would be a valid concern?" By now, her own camera technician was starting to get nervous, believing that she was REALLY going too far... |

-Lunar Lounge- “Because it flies in the face of rational science,” Loralee said simply, glaring at the reporter for a second now, “The human genome mutates regardless. Genetic drift, it is a well established phenomenon. To say that there is one way the human genome should be is a horribly outdated and a simply wrong way of thinking. My husband and daughter have different phenotypical traits from average. That simply means they look different. Genotypically they're no bigger of a variation then any other human.” Loralee adjusted her glasses, “We are human because of our culture. Without culture we would descend into chaos. Looking inside to others of our own species, accusing them of not being human? That's from the Dark Ages of humanity. Accusing others of being subhuman, or being not human, I consider to be much more of an act of a saboteur, someone working with the Cybrids.” The blonde woman then smiled, staring right at the reporter. “So, that's what these people are trying to do. They fly into the face of science and aid our enemies by making further baseless accusations. Anyone who does so, I would assume could be a Cybrid spy, trying to force us away from the science that allows us to build our HERCs, keep the Emperor alive, build our defenses, colonize further outposts, etc.” |

[The Moon] “Light it up.” Mustang called over the com-link. [Lunar Lounge] Garnet looked nervous. She opened her mouth to speak, but suddenly a man rapidly approached the tables. He wore all black and had an obvious earpiece in. He leaned down and leaned something to Garnet and she opened her eyes wide. “I’m sorry, I’m afraid I have to go.” Garnet said to the reporter. She stood up and followed the man out of the room. Once she was in the hallway, out of earshot, she looked to the man and frowned. “How bad is it?” “We don’t know yet, milady. Please, we need to hurry.” [Carter Flats, Mars] Rica smirked. He could see what the Police Chief was getting at. The man stood and rubbed his chin, grinning like a maniac. “I understand. I’ll make sure it happens. Is there anything else, sir?” [Tifa’s Bar] “I’d like to try to get in touch with Harabec, actually.” Barret said, as he finished making the arrangements for the officers. He walked forward and sighed, taking a seat near the bar. “This incident only proves we gotta do something about the police corruption. If we don’t, things are only going to get worse.” |

The Moon "Yes sir!" Didymus called. "Hawkins! Light that thing up!" he said, firing at one of the drones still nearby his position, destroying it. "We're breaking through!" he called. The tower's energy buildup was reaching a peak... Lunar Lounge The reporter grinned. Yes, THIS was the kind of thing she was looking for. Lady Fayre could always be counted on to get ratings, she thought. Still, she pressed. ""Rational science" also created the Cybrids, and tells us that the human genome DOES have a set structure, even if varying pieces of code can exist within it. You can't deny your family is a special case-" "Kendra!" one of the camera crew said. At this point, Garnet ran outside. The reporter raised an eyebrow, as the camera crew tried to tell her with looks she was really getting out of line. OTHER cameras had been turning to face them, occasionally, but now they had turned to watch Garnet leave the room, as other reporters began to speculate what that was all about... Carter Flats, Mars Navarre shook his head and spoke. "No, no, I believe we are finished here." he handed him a small computer drive/flash drive. "This is the information-SECURE information-to contact me in private." he said. "There are numerous rebel cells we either know of or suspect you should be able to approach them concerning. Go, and bring glory to the Police and the Empire!" he said. Tifa's bar Tifa nodded, watching with clear discomfort as their captives were taken away. "Well, we have his contact info. I can set us up downstairs..." she said. "...and can someone help me clean this up? Oh, the miners are gonna be disappointed and there'll be questions as to what happened...I suppose we can say there was a drunken brawl..." she added. |

-The Moon- “Yes sir!” Elysia said, opening fire on the target, shooting at it with everything she had! -Lunar Lounge- Loralee frowned at the reporter, shaking her head. “There is nothing rational about creating an artificial intelligence without safeguards and letting it get loose,” Loralee said, “The Cybrids are a perfect example of someone misusing science.” Her face then grew colder, glaring at this Kendra, “If you are accusing that my husband and daughter are not human, I suggest you think long and hard about that. They are as human as everyone else... They are not the ones saying that science is bad, or accusing people of being inhuman, and trying to sow dissension and weaken us as a species.” Loralee stepped forward at Kendra now, “If anything, I think the evidence suggest that you are more likely to be a Cybrid agent then anyone else.” -Tifa's Bar- Hammah moved forward to help Tifa pick up the bar, his father bending over to pick up a chair and help as well. “If anyone asks, blame me,” Spork said to Tifa, “Tell them I was demonstrating an invention and it went screwy. They'll believe that enough.” |

The Moon As Elysia fired, the structure crumbled into rubble! "Energy readings from the structure are nil, sir." Didymus said. The remaining drones in the area were easy pickings for Didymus' squad, as the drones in front of Mustang, Alice, KxS and Jimi continued to dare them to approach... But something else was going on. "Um, sir, were there supposed to be TDF units operating in this area? We have a few that seem to be making their way south toward the observation lounge..." Didymus said over the com-link to Mustang. He paused. Lunar Lounge The reporter grinned inwardly to herself. THIS would get ratings. She was about to speak (and offer an apology, however insincere, this WAS an aristocrat she was talking to), when something on the tacitcal map that was displayed on one of the screens in the room for the viewing pleasure of the aristocrats. "What's that?" she said. There were readings of Terran Defense Force HERCs making their way towards the Lounge... A voice sounded over the intercom, the TDF officer in charge of catering to the aristocratic observers for the exercise's voice coming through. "I apologize for this unexpected event, I am attempting to get in contact now..." he said. "...attention pilots, you are in a restricted zone. Divert from course and report to grid point zero-tw-" Another voice, one uttered as if being forced forward by someone-or something-that did not quite have a grasp of controlling human vocal cords, cut off the officer. "ELIMINATE HUMAN///ANIMAL UPPER CASTE...DESTROY HUMAN///ANIMAL PREDATOR DESIGNATION "KNIGHTS"...HURT///MAIM///KILL...ACKNOWLEDGE///SUBMIT-" The channel was closed. "...I apologize. The officer said. I am alerting the First Knight at once." The Moon "Attention all knights." Caanon's voice sounded over comms. "We have Cybrid Trojan Horse units in a group of HERCs making their way towards the Lunar Longue. The training drones are shutting off now-our mission is to intercept the Trojan Horses. ...Mustang. Your men are closest. Move south and intercept the infiltrators before they can cause any damage. We will join you with all speed." he said. Didymus blinked. How...oh dear...I guess this just became a combat mission. he thought. Tifa's Bar Tifa nodded. "Thank you." she said. "That...sounds like a good cover." She still seemed a bit shaken up, but began to open the door to their hideout in the basement... |

[The Moon] “What?” Mustang gasped over the com-link. His eyes were wide and anger burnt through him like a flame. Then something else sparked behind his eyes – opportunity. The Cybrids attacking like this would be a huge deal – and there was sure to be a lot of blame passed around. If Mustang’s crew defeat the threat… “All Units! This mission is now real. Our new objective is to protect the Lunar Lounge at all costs. Get to it!” [Tifa’s Bar] “I’ll help clean up.” Sama said as he walked over and started picking up pieces of the broken furniture. “If we all chip in, it won’t take long.” |

The Moon "Yes sir!" Didymus' voice sounded through the comlink. "Alright people, southward!" he called. "This training exercise just became a combat op! That means the shots back at us are gonna be REAL. Fired by things that are actively TRYING to KILL YOU! So watch each other's backs out there, work together, maintain formation unless we HAVE to split up! Now let's MOVE! Southward!" He began taking his team southwesterly, to rendevous with Mustang's team and to intercept the cybrid infiltrators... Tifa's Bar Tifa nodded. "Thanks." she said, then went behind the bar, taking out the "closed" sign, and going over to the door, hanging it up. "I can open a...channel...downstairs..." she said. "...if you want to talk to someone about this. But in the meantime, I have cleanup to do." she went to go grab a broom. |

-The Moon- “Oh heck no!” Elysia scowled, taking aim, “Permission to open fire? I can nail these robots no problem.” Aiden brought her own HERC around, ready to provide a distraction for the others. -Lunar Lounge- Loralee frowned, turning her attention away from the reporter and towards the screens. “...Be careful...” she said quietly, thinking of her husband and daughter, who were out there. -Tifa's Bar- Spork and Hammah continued to help clean up, Spork pausing for a moment to check his electronic device on his wrist, looking at some numbers and frowning. “I might need to head out soon. Experiment I'm working on is getting to some crucial stages,” Spork said to the others. |

The Moon Didymus paused, reflecting on the situation. "Maintain formation...and fire at will. Fayre, be ready to break off if necessary, but this isn't likely going to be a baiting tactic with you. Remember to use your mobility to navigate this, if we close on them it may become a melee in which our formation will by necessity fall apart...cover each other, but stay out of each other's lines of fire." he said. "And check your fire, we don't want to hit the lounge that the CYBRIDS are trying to hit. Though that should still be outside our range..." Elysia could, as she had the longest range of them, open up...but they were still a ways ahead. The squad was gaining, though... Tifa's bar Tifa shook her head. "Suit yourself." she said. "Even if you're taking the fall for the mess, it may be good if you distanced yourself from this scene...we don't know if more cops will come if these guys fail to report. We need to get them out of here...and Barret, do you want me to set up a call for you to Harabec, still?" she asked. |
