Earth, Imperial Palace They had all gathered here. With another season ending, the Imperial Aristocracy was gathered not only to meet and greet each other, but also the knights. Furthermore, today, the emperor would be releasing a statement about the situation on Mars and the status of the Fortress Earth Proclamation...and Lady Brahne, the talk was, would finally be making her first appearence publicly since she was rescued from cybrid captivity... Near the center of the room stood a brown haired, grim faced man with his wife. Caanon Weathers looked over the festivities, even now keeping watch (though he wasn't on duty). He was First Knight, though, and he had to set the example. His dress uniform was clad with a chestful of medals and ribbons showing his status, as well as his indication of rank upon black shoulderpads/lapels of the white uniform, and they seemed to fit naturally on him, some may say, as if he was born wearing them. All who spoke to him (and indeed there were many who wanted to speak to both the heir to the prestigious Weathers house as well as the leading general in the Imperial military) he would answer with cordial greetings and pleasentaries, but he did not appear one for small talk, and when he spoke his voice often sounded cold, or gruff (though not necessairly hostile). Near the edge of the room stood a notably younger, also brown-haired man. Unlike Caanon, his face was clean-shaven (as opposed to the First Knight's mustache) and his uniform was, though ultimately of the same design, much more humble. It was clear: he too was a Knight, but simply a Knight-Captain as opposed to the First Knight. He took another deep breath, not sure of what to do in this mixed knight/aristocratic company. There were many fine-looking young ladies, but you had to be careful who you talked to, or even looked at-some aristocrats wanted to find husbands for their daughters, others weren't so eager to marry their children off to a military man-especially one like he, a "commoner"-though a Knight as well. He shrugged. This really wasn't that bad-the food was good, and most people here at least were polite and could carry on an intelligent conversation for a bit. Mars-Tifa's Seventh Heaven In a somewhat run-down watering hole in a somewhat run-down settlement on the Red Planet, the proprietress stepped in. She looked a little worried. "Hey guys..." she called out. "Hey, where are you?" she looked around. "...and my cash register better still have all the money that was there this morning!" she added. Victoria, Mars, Office of the Chief of Police" Ernesto Navarre looked over the latest reports. Something about a supply convoy near the dust devil fields going down. He cursed, knowing he'd be called to make a statement. The rebel movement was continuing to agitate...and he had no intention of ending up like the late governor...and that meant he needed to be strong, he thought. --- NewsNets Broadcast: Cybrid brain found in accident victim skull. "Cybrids walk among us! Although officials have clamped down on further details, we do know that a hovercar accident in Mega-L.A. led to the discovery by startled medics of a cybernetic brain in one of the victims. How many more Cybrid spies are out there?" "Dystopian Sno-Men" Omniweb/Internet Post: "Straight Talk from the Digital Resistance!" "Hey all you people out there, listening to your news nets chirping away about how great things are on Earth and how perfect it is with little old Peter in charge? Sorry, but we're about to burst that bubble. Just keep your eye on the O-web. We're out there with the truth, your friendly shadows in the snow." Edited by The Vidit of Light, Aug 30 2013, 10:38 PM.

I can't see what you're imagining

-Earth: Imperial Palace- “Ahhh, hello Didymus. I was hoping to see you here.” A tall man with tanned skin approached Didymus. He had white hair, and piercing red eyes. He had a number of decorations himself, and the symbol of a flame on his uniform as well, the symbol of his family, the Fayre's... Zadkiel Fayre, an Imperial Knight-Captain. “I heard about your raid that saved Brahne,” Zadkiel said, “Good job, you certainly earned your promotion. Are you enjoying the party so far?” Not to far from Zadkiel, wearing a uniform as well, though with very little decorations, stood Aiden, who had her father's skin tone, hair, and eyes, though her hair was long, but pulled back, and she wore a skirt with her uniform, but she too had the symbol of the Fayre house on her uniform. “Ohhh, this is so exciting!” a girl with long red hair smiled, wearing a long and poofy teal dress, she spun around a little, the girl next to her sighing. “Kyran, calm down,” Elysia said to her fraternal twin sister. Elysia was dressed in her Knight uniform, though unlike Aiden the black haired girl wore trousers with her uniform. “But it's exciting! And maybe I'll meet some nice guy...” Kyran said, “Our sister is already married and has a kid, you know...” “She's also ten years older then us,” Elysia said dryly, “I promised our parents I'd keep an eye on you here...” Kyran pouted a little, “But most everyone here is a Knight or aristocracy... I want to mingle... They'd all be polite too...” Elysia sighed, “Trust me sis, not all of them are... I know a couple who definitely aren't...” Jimi was at the buffet table, of course, munching some food idly as he watched the room. -Mars: Tifa's Seventh Heaven- There was a sudden loud BOOM from the restroom in Tifa's bar, and a blond haired young man was tossed backwards, smoking slightly with soot in his face, blinking slightly, goggles over his eyes to protect them. “Ooookay, too much powder,” Hammah said idly, picking himself up, and turning towards Tifa, dusting himself off. “Oh, hey there Tifa, don't mind me. Just needed a place to test something dad's using up all the lab at home,” Hammah said, as if using a bar's bathroom to conduct a scientific experiment was something normal. |

Earth: Imperial Palace "I...thank you, sir." Didymus said as Zadkiel spoke. He recognized him; there was talk about how his appearance could have came to be. With the emphasis on protecting and preserving humanity, some said, never to his face of course, that Zadkiel's bloodline was not fully natural, and was ultimately being detrimental to that goal-and while Didymus obviously had concerns about preserving humanity's natural/God-made/what-have-you genetic state himself, he recognized, as did many, that Zadkiel had been made an aristocrat-had show merit and service enough to be granted that honor. "I..it was a blessing, sir. The way things all just worked...no casualties. Just...gotta be glad for that." Brahne wasn't the only one freed in his attack. The base they stormed had many human captives, who had, after being screened for the possibility of being cybrid infiltrators (some of which sadly were), been brought back safely. "The party is nice...though I do hope I don't get too used to all this parading and pomp and ceremony. It's all nice, but I'd hate to let the honors that my people and I have been getting go to my head..." He paused, remembering something. Wasn't Zadkiel's daughter being assigned to his new team, now that he'd been promoted? There had been talk... Shoooooooooooot. So THAT'S why he was here. Made sense, it was in his right to make sure his little girl was looked after...even his duty as a father. Caanon had had enough of a meet and greet with other aristocrats, and began making his rounds-checking up on his knights. Soon enough, he next to Elysia, his wife on his arm. "Hawkins." he said. "You seem tense." he added in his gruff voice, but there was no malice behind the remark. He was observing and, in a way, asking, perhaps, if she was alright. Tifa's Seventh Heaven "HAMMAH!" Tifa yelled. "WHAT are you doing to my bathrooms?! This shop doesn't fix itself, and money's hard ENOUGH to come by out here WITHOUT worrying about the quotas and crooked cops and taxes!" she added. -Earth: Imperial Palace- “There are times to acknowledge when you've done a good job, and there are times to downplay your role,” Zadkiel said, nodding faintly, “If you constantly downplay yourself, there will be those who will take that as a sign of weakness. From what I've seen of you though, I have a feeling you'll continue to show excellent promise... Now then... I confess, my intention to talk to you was not entirely honorable.” He smiled a little, then motioned to Aiden, who still looked nervous. “If you haven't already guessed, my daughter here is joining your squad,” Zadkiel said, “I thought it would be good to introduce you two, formally.” “He-hello, sir,” Aiden said to Didymus, giving him a salute, “It's good to meet you...” She wasn't nearly as confident as her father... “Sir!” Elysia said, saluting Caanon, standing to attention, “I'm fine sir. Just keeping an eye on my sister. She's my plus one to this, sir.” Kyran smiled, pulling Elysia into a hug and grinning. “Hello sir!” Kyran smiled, “My name is Kyran Hawkins, I'm Elysia's twin!” They both had the same height and body shape, though Kyran had long red hair and blue eyes, while Elysia had short black hair and brown eyes. “Fraternal twin, sir,” Elysia said idly, “She doesn't get out much...” Kyran was the girl who got to be Melanie's little girl, since Joyce and Elysia had been more daddy's girls, so Kyran grew up more sheltered then her siblings. -Mars: Tifa's Seventh Heaven- “I already told you, I didn't have any room at the lab back home, so I came here,” Hammah told Tifa, as if that actually explained things, “And don't worry, I'll fix it, I'll always do. I fixed the wiring last time... Sure it was blinking in Morse Code for a bit but I fixed that too.” |

Earth: Imperial Palace "Thank you, sir." Didymus said, as Zadkiel complimented him. When he mentioned his reason for speaking with him, Didymus had to comment. "It seems honorable enough to me, sir. Good evening, Miss Fayre." he said, returning her salute. "But we're indoors, uncovered. That's not necessary." "It's good to meet you as well." he said. Caanon maintained his stern demeanor. "We don't salute without our covers, and indoors." he said. "Unless it is mandated and ceremonial." He was more of a stickler for that then Didymus was. "But tell me...are you two close?" Mars: Tifa's Seventh Heaven Tifa paused. "Hammah...you...that's not the point. It's that these things cost money, and attract attention, and the police come whenever there may be an explosion, and with everyone here..." she paused. "...just...clean it up quick, okay? And don't do it again. Not here." she said. |

-Earth: Imperial Palace- Aiden nodded, still clearly looking nervous. “I he-heard about what you did...” Aiden said, quietly, “It was very brave... I hope I can live up to my father's reputation, and do well too...” “Sorry sir... Nerves,” Elysia said, a bit nervous herself, talking with Caanon. "But tell me...are you two close?" “Of course we are!” Kyran smiled, nodding, “We're twins after all! Even if we're not identical.” Elysia nodded, clearly a little embarrassed by her sister's friendliness in public, but they did come from a huggy family. “Errr, yes sir, we are,” Elysia said, “My family keeps in close contact with each other when we can. Our older sister is a reporter though, and our brother... tends to wander, so we don't always get to see them as often, but Kyran and I grew up together, obviously...” -Mars: Tifa's Seventh Heaven- Hammah shook his head, “Don't worry, really, it'll be fine. And I'm not stupid. I wouldn't do something that dangerous, or illegal, if it wasn't just people we just here. Besides, it wasn't suppose to explode...” He frowned a little thinking, “Definitely too much powder...” |

Earth: Imperial Palace "Thank you." Didymus said. "It did take courage, and we were blessed...but at the same time, it was our duty as knights." When Aiden mentioned living up to her father's reputation, he couldn't help but think about how she'd lose her aristocratic status if she couldn't... Caanon simply looked on, but nodded. "Good. Good. Families need to stick together. I'm sorry to hear that about your...brother." he said. Mars: Tifa's Seventh Heaven Tifa sighed. "Look, Hammah, again, just...don't do that, okay? I'm trying to make a living here and...help...us all out..." she said, trying not to openly SAY "I have a rebel command post in my basement" out loud. |

-Earth: Imperial Palace- “I'm sure you'll do well, Aiden,” Zadkiel said, “You did very well in training.” But training was one thing... actual combat is quite another. Aiden nodded though, glancing back towards Didymus, when Zadkiel spoke again. “I'd be surprised if you didn't get some offers from other aristocrats, Didymus,” Zadkiel added, “Ones with eligible daughters.” He was smirking a little, letting the younger man know he was simply trying to lighten the mood. Aiden's face suddenly went bright red though. “I hear Brahne's daughter will be here, I'm sure she'll be wanting to thank you,” Zadkiel added. “We also have some aunts and uncles and cousins too!” Kyran added, “Our grandmother kind of-” Elysia elbowed her sister softly, and the red head stopped talking, looking a little sheepish. “Our brother's a good engineer, like our dad, so he tends to wander around the system, helping out with various colonies or corporations doing things,” Elysia explained further, “He's essentially an independent contractor...” -Mars: Tifa's Seventh Heaven- Hammah sighed a little, “Alright, alright, I'll be more careful... I just had this idea and had to see if I could get it to work. I'm sorry if I worried you. I'll buy everyone drinks when they all get in, will that help?” |

Earth-Imperial Palace A young woman's high-heels clicked on the palace floor. Dawning a subtle-yellow ball gown and having her extremely long hair in a bun/ponytail hybrid, Shimera was smiling and greeting everyone around her. She would glance at the knights every once and a while and sigh quietly and jealously. Oh,--she thought,--I wonder how much action and adventure they get in one day? If they get as much as I think, I do hope they're enjoying this short break! At Jimi's side, KxS was munching on a couple crackers and cheeses. "Man, the aristocrats sure know how to live, huh?" she asked her partner after swallowing some salty goodness. "I wouldn't be surprised if the chefs here actually made these crackers from scratch." Mars-Tifa's Seventh Heaven Sitting in a lone corner, a female with a large, purple ponytail sat with a mixed drink at the table and a tablet-like device in her hand. Her large headphones were giving her a constant feed of old electronic music and her tablet was giving her the news for today. She winced at the "BOOM" that came from the bathrooms and looked toward the noise to see the strawberry blond male had shot out of it. She shook her head and ignored the rest; she couldn't hear them anyway. Strobe snarled at the news. It was just getting more and more vague each day, and feeding more and more into fear tactics. She swore that the media was run by a load of corn-heads nowadays. She sipped her drink and shut her eyes. What a world. |

[Earth, Imperial Palace] The door to the Imperial ballroom opened and in came a small group of very well-dressed people. Leading the way was a dark-haired man in an officer’s uniform. Several shiny decorations were pinned to his chest and there was a slight smirk playing on his lips. Roy Mustang attracted his share of glances as he made his fashionably late entrance. A billion and one rumors swirled around the young Knight-Commander, some good and some bad. What all agreed on, though, was his intense ambition and his skills as a Knight. Mustang barely tried to hide the fact that he envisioned himself in Weather’s job in the future. In step behind Mustang were two young women. One was a blonde with short hair and shining eyes, who like the older male wore a Knight’s uniform. In her case, it was the uniform of a Knight-Captain. A ceremonial dagger hung from her belt as well, though it was not a symbol of her Knighthood; but a sign of her family. Alice Malvin was an Aristocrat. The other young woman was also an aristocrat, but instead of a military uniform she wore a long, flowing silvery gown. Her long black hair flowed loosely down her shoulders and she gave the best smile she could muster at the moment. She was also the main reason Mustang was so late to the festivities. Garnet til Alexandros had not been easy to convince to come. [Mars, Tifa’s Seventh Heaven] The bells above the door chimed as it was opened, and two newcomers entered the bar. They both appeared to be in their early twenties. The shorter of the two was a woman with fiery red hair and an equally fiery expression carved onto her face. She wore a red jacket and a black cap, and had a patch over her left eye. Her cerulean eyes narrowed and her mouth was twisted in mid-frown. Her hands were clenched so tightly her knuckles were turning white. “No, no, no! I don’t want to hear it! You’re the one who was supposed to bring lunch!” “Why the heck do I always have to be in charge of the lunch?” “You used to own a restaurant, miser stricher!” “I don’t know what you said, but I don’t like the way you said it!” “I called you a bad male prostitute.” “How very mature of you.” The male who argued with the redhead was taller than her by more than a foot. He had messy brown hair that jetted out in the back, with large spiky locks in the front. His eyes were green and there was an exasperated expression hanging onto his face. Like the girl, he also wore a primarily red jacket and blue jeans. The bickering duo made their way over to the bar and sat down at a pair of stools. While they looked like complete idiots, Asuka Shikinami and Sama Rhys were actually highly skilled rebels. |

Earth-Imperial Palace "O-offers, sir?" Didymus asked. It was true, most of the young ladies here did look very nice, though he couldn't say he knew what many were really like... ...then Mustang entered, along with Alice and Garnet, and he glanced over. Mustang...he had always been confused by. He didn't think that ambition of his nature belonged in the knighthood, yet there it was. "Speaking OF Lady Brahne's daughter..." he mentioned. Alice, he had liked what he heard about her, and Garnet...he hadn't heard much, but that she was, perhaps, looked to as the very model of a courtly young lady-and he wouldn't have minded getting to know either a bit better...he imagined he'd have reason to tonight... "Well, it was good to meet you...Lady Aiden, I know I'll be seeing you more very soon, and sir..." he said, turning to Zadkiel. "...thank you. I think maybe I'll go and introduce myself to Lady Alice...or at least...hey, is that? Oh dear..." As he spoke, Caanon had noticed the new arrivals. "You have a diverse family. A wealth of experiences to draw upon." he said to Elysia. "Be sure to utilize that. And if you'd excuse me...we have some new arrivals." he said. "Dear..." he said to his wife. "...go and distract more of the others near the appitizer table, would you?" His wife briefly look concerned, but nodded and went towards it. Caanon himself made his way over to Mustang, Alice, and Garnet. "Mustang." he said. "Malvin. Welcome. And Lady Garnet...welcome to you as well." Caanon was well aware that Mustang saw himself in his own job. It frankly offended him. Not the competition, but the, potential selfishness of it. Ambition was one thing, but careerism ran contrary to Knightly virtue...that, and some of Mustang's...personal habits...seemed to run contrary to their image as well. "I take it everything will be in order tonight?" he asked Mustang. And he paused for a moment. He was cold in nature, yes, but... "And Lady Garnet, I know there will be ceremonies later for this, but several of my knights involved in rescuing your mother are scattered around the room here, should you wish to say any personal thanks. Is your mother coming along well?" Mars-Tifa's Seventh Heaven "There you two are!" Tifa said, as Sama and Asuka entered. "Stop fighting, you know I can make you some lunch anyway..." she added. "And buying everyone drinks will help, yes..." she said to Hammah, her demeanor brightening a little. She looked over to Strobe. "Be sure you get one for her, too..." she insisted to Hammah. She looked to Asuka and Sama. "So, same old stuff, huh? I just got a dispatch from Mole Command..." she added. "...it looks like you two have to finish a job you started..." |

[Imperial Palace, Earth] A slight smirk crossed Mustang’s lips as he turned his attention towards Caanon. With the exception of that smirk, however, Mustang showed the utmost professionalism as he greeted Caanon. “Everything will be perfect tonight.” Mustang replied simply. He knew that Caanon id not hold a very high opinion of him, but Mustang never let that affect his behavior. He knew that he had many detractors who pointed to his level of ambition, or his personal behavior… but Mustang also knew that those under his command thought very highly of him, and that was enough for him. Garnet stepped forward and nodded. “Thank you. You have my apologies for our late arrival. I was not ready when they came to get me.” [Tifa’s Seventh Heaven, Mars] Sama and Asuka immediately stopped their squabbling and looked towards Tifa when she mentioned a job they’d have to do. Asuka groaned a little and leaned on her elbow. “Whatever it is will have to wait until after we get some grub and some drinks. It’s sweltering out there and I need some food.” Sama, meanwhile, simply slouched on the stool. “We should talk about this downstairs.” He suggested, worried that there could always be ears listening in the bar. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Earth: Imperial Palace- Zadkiel looked over to Mustang. He knew the man, of course. Unlike most other Knights, Zadkiel wasn't too offended by Mustang's ambition. He knew Mustang treated his soldiers well, and the white haired man personally believed that was more important then public image. Aiden nodded to Didymus though, looking over towards Alice and Garnet as they entered, looking a little worried. No one would give her much mind with all these others at this place... Elysia nodded as Caanon walked off, letting out a breath, feeling herself untense slightly. Of course, she spotted Mustang, frowning. He was... too eccentric for her. “At least that Musashi guy doesn't seem to be here...” Elysia thought to herself, glancing back towards Kyran who was watching the newcomers. “Ohhh, maybe I should go say hello to Alice and Garnet?” Kyran wondered. “Yah... you don't tend to get food like this back on Mars...” Jimi said idly, watching as the newcomers came in. He was a little nervous being here. While he was a Knight himself, his father had been known for protesting against the Empire... He didn't really agree with his father, but he still did have a lot of respect for him. Jimi then smirked, deciding now wasn't the time to think about it. “You know these aristocrats like to marry their kids off to Knights to help keep their kids in the aristocracy. See any cute guys you might want to dance with?” Jimi said, elbowing Kxs lightly, laughing softly. -Mars: Tifa's Seventh Heaven- Hammah reached into his pocket, pulling out some cash and handing it to Tifa, “This should cover drinks for everyone, including Strobe over there.” Hammah waved to the purple haired girl, then turned his attention back to Sama and Asuka. “Well I said I'd pay for drinks but you're on your own for sandwiches.” |

Imperial Palace, Earth Caanon nodded at Mustang's assurances. "Very well. I'll hold you to that." he said. It wasn't that Caanon distrusted Mustang's overall quality as a knight-commander, he respected the man's skill and dedication to his subordinates. But again, he thought, careerism and womanizing are most unbecoming of a knight, and even the rumors of both on Mustang's part were most unbecoming of one, particularly one of his rank. And all imaging aside, unrestrained ambition could produce very harmful results...it wasn't chivalrous. Nor was womanizing. Those were Caanon's concerns with Mustang... He regarded Garnet. "That's alright. Is your mother coming along well? I understand this is to be her debut since her rescue..." he said, noticing Didymus a bit away from them. "There's one of my Knight-Captains now, he seems to be making his way over here. At any rate, it's good to know you've arrived safely. Has your house provided you an attendant?" he asked. She was a courtly young lady, it may have been only proper she have someone to introduce her. Mars-Tifa's Seventh Heaven Tifa took the cash Hammah gave. "Thank you. This should be a round for everyone. What'll it be, everyone?" And when Sama mentioned they should talk downstairs, she nodded. "Yeah, go ahead and head down there now. But first..." she gestured at the drinks and foods menu. "What'll it be?" Rebel movement or no, she had a bar to run. |

Earth-Imperial Palace KxS laughed at Jimi's question. "If I could, I'd marry this food table," she joked. "But seriously, I don't really care much for 'cute' guys. Know what I find cute? Brains, intelligence. I like learning things, Jimmers. The best person to learn from is someone you're always around." She turned toward the table and looked both ways. "Aw man, I think I ate all the crackers! The horror!" Mars-Tifa's Seventh Heaven At the mention of her name (the only thing she can hear with her headphones on), Strobe took her headphones away from her ears and looked toward Hammah. She gave a little smile at him and a small nod. While she didn't like people, Hammah was an exception. He was nice and awesome enough for her to put on her "people I see as better than people" list. She turned toward the bartender. "Ya, I'll have another one of these fruity mixed drinks please? Thanks." She promptly put her headphones back on and sipped the last the drink she had. |
