“I see...” Blake said, then turned towards Garnet, nodding to her.

“Thank you for the trust. I can only hope I continue to live up to it,” Blake said to her.

Now he felt bad, as though he was deliberately misleading them, considering his other grandfather.

Samuel seemed to notice Blake was concerned, and put a hand on Blake, talking to him quietly.

“You shouldn't worry about that...What matters is who you are,” Samuel said, so only Blake would hear.

-Forest-

“Hey! Stop hurting my boyfriend!” Kyran yelled at Lamia, glaring at the creature, “Dad! Shock me!”

“What? Honey, no-”

“Do it!” Kyran yelled. Galv frowned, then focused, sending a blast of electricity at his daughter.

Kyran yelped a little, then focused, holding up her hands as the electricity began to supercharge her shadows!

They grew bigger, then came flying at Lamia, attempting overtake the creature and freeze her!

-Ankh-Morpork-

“Alright, take this!” Jimi yelled, running towards the Licker. He threw his fist forward, and a spike shot from the ground in front of Carrot, stabbing at the Licker, as the wolf continued to try to fight it!

Hammah focused, seeing Raven. He took a deep breath, then shot a blast of lightning at the girl!

I hope her shadows don't get stronger with electricity too...

“… There is a dark cloud on the horizon. It may consume us all. We need do whatever we can to protect against what is coming.”

Didymus paused, unsure whether to speak up...and decided against it. Though it may or may not have been little secret he was under the impression that dark clouds had already arrived and were raging, had been for some time now...

"...when do we leave, what supplies shall we take, and where do we convene?" he asked.

Throughout the entire fight, Saren stood to the side, watching intently. He seemed to be unconcerned by the creatures everyone was fighting, ignoring them even as they came at him, only to be repelled by a barrier of some sort that shimmered only upon impact, sending ripples across a semi-spherical surface.

Finally, he raised a hand into the air, letting out a loud thunderclap of noise with a snap of his fingers, throwing the creatures back away from his sphere, and stepped past them, in full view of the building in which Raven was still going absolutely nuts with her magic.

Saren knew magic. It sang in his blood, twisted in his veins, scorched across his mind on a daily basis, and magical eddies and flows were very familiar to the mage. It didn't take him long to know that whatever was going inside wasn't true magic, but the result of it was. And powerful magic was something that he had a great amount of experience dealing with.

It was time for his own move.

"Man, I can't decide! What tactic! Dear got, what tactic shall I use???"

With that gleeful shout, he made to go for the building, when a massive form shot right by him. Umbra, having finally awakened and cleared his head of the blow that knocked him silly a few minutes before, rushed past Saren without further thought and smashed right through the wall, creating yet another hole as he barreled through like a juggernaut, hammer sweeping aside two more of the dark creatures that decided to make him a target, heading right for Raven.

"Ya bettah let go o' him, ye ain't in yer right mind!"

Umbra didn't understand really what was going on. His friend, the girl that he had followed so diligently and promised to help, was now hurting everyone around her. Where did he go wrong? Was it somehow his fault? Did he misjudge the girl, and unleash an evil unto the world? No, she was too haunted! It couldn't be! He refused to believe it! So he fought off the creatures, standing a little ways from Raven.

"Ye don't have ta do dis, Raven-girl! I know ye ain't one ta hurt yer friends, so stop hurtin' em already! Come on, Raven-girl, come back to us!"

Outside, Saren looked rather put out by the half-orc's sudden rush by him, indignantly shouting after him, but being ignored just as quickly... It was enough to make him annoyed. But he wouldn't take out his annoyance on the Orc. No, he now saw the source of the twisted, evil magic, and since he could see it now, he could fight it.

So he began to weave a spell...

[Camelot Castle]

“The only way to reach the Knight’s tomb is by ship. I have already alerted Avalon’s Naval Commander, and we have our finest ship ready in the harbor.” Arturia explained in response to Didymus’ question.

“It’s been fully stocked. You’ll have all of the supplies you need. The crew is standing by as well, some of the finest sailors in Avalon.”

Arturia paused. “I would like to give you all time to set your affairs in order…”

Merlin stood up and cleared his throat. “With respect, Highness… there is no time. Every day that we delay brings us one step closer to a war the likes of which the world has not seen for more than a thousand years.”

Arturia sighed, and nodded. “You are right. I must ask you all be at the docks in no more than an hour. My apologies if that is not enough time, but our lives may very well be in your hands.”

[Forest]

The shadow consumed Lamia, and she let out a terrible scream! Her body temperature had plummeted, and being cold-blooded that was very bad for her. She collapsed to the ground, her blood running cold and her energy low.

“Augh… what is this… how can you humans have such powers…?” Lamia asked with a groan.

[Ankh-Morpork]

The stone spike jabbed upward, stabbing into the Licker and killing it. The beast writhed for a moment before it finally died, its body now lying still before it evaporated into a group of billowy black smoke and a pool of blood.

Meanwhile, Umbra and Beast Boy were trying to get through to Raven, but she still seemed lost in her own mind. The darkness was growing around her, becoming darker and more powerful.

Giant tendrils of darkness began to emerge from the ground around Raven, moving in every direction, and shooting towards everyone!

As usual, Didymus' face showed little but earnestness, hiding his thoughts and emotions behind it as Merlin and Arthuria spoke.

"...I imagine that everyone else shall be protected or able to move about safely till we set sail? If so, I shall attend to some provisions and some other affairs and await at the docks. Will that be all?" he said.

“There is still safety to be found in Camelot.” Arturia replied to Didymus earnestly. “Whatever dark cloud has crept into Avalon, it has yet to reach us here. The Castle City is safe. The Paladins of your Order and my Knights see to that.”

Her words were true. Camelot was one of the safer cities in the world. The city guardsmen were constantly on the streets, and there was an abundance of Paladins and some of the chief Knights of the Round resided in the city walls.

"Very well." Didymus said.

"In that case, I have a few things I may wish to attend to, and some provisions to gather, unless those are to be supplied, before we are off, if we're done here?" he asked.

Cid stood up and nodded.

“I’ll insure that any supplies you need will be on the boat and waiting for you. If there’s anything specific you need, just let me know. You have access to anything the Order has that you believe you will need.”

"Very well." Didymus said. "Thank you, elder, but I believe that after one affair that I should be able to take care of, I may simply want to write a letter and pray a bit..." he said, preparing to depart for those purposes.

Cid nodded.

“Of course. You don’t have MUCH time, but you have some time. Use it wisely.”

He paused. “And go gladly into this assignment, Brother! Although the circumstance be grave, it is quite exciting to think you will be finding the tomb of the Great Knight. If I could, I would like to go with you… but I have too much to do here.”

If war did come to Avalon, Cid would be playing a key role. He was a Paladin and a Knight, and he had several responsibilities to both groups that he could not abandon.

Plus, let’s face it… he’s old.

Didymus' face showed a small hint of a smile when Cid spoke, then it softened/saddened a bit, before becoming a tad earnest once more.

"As faith and Order dictate, elder." he said.

He moved to take care of his intended errands, including sending off a letter and praying in the cathedral, before heading to the docks...

Umbra was skilled, powerful, and an exceptionally strong opponent to face on the field of battle. But he had one inherent weakness, one that eclipsed all others: Magic. His understanding of magic was incredibly limited, and he didn't know how to fight spells except to power through them. So when Raven began to spike everything in her sight with tendrils of shadow, the half-orc was immediately forced on the defense when he found that striking the shadows with his hammer did absolutely nothing.

His hammer passed through them, but they drew blood where they struck and generally made his life difficult to keep.

Thankfully, he wasn't lethally damaged, and a second later he had a backup. Saren, having finally finished his spell, clapped his hands together and his amulet flared, acting as a powerful focus...

And from his clapped hands, the gray-skinned elf unleashed a glowing-white sun along with a calmly spoken: "Lux Maxima".

The spell, a ball of light so bright that it was impossible to look at, bright enough to illuminate almost the entirety of Ankh-Morpork (where the light could reach without being stopped, of course), hovered in front of Saren's hands, the glowing orb making Raven's shadows smoke and vanish as if scoured away. That's when Saren threw the ball straight at the girl with a loud "Catch!", the light growing no dimmer as it traveled in a parabolic arc through the busted entrance into the building, illuminating everything inside with the brightness of a shining sun.

[Ankh-Morpork]

The moment Saren created a blinding ball of bright light, the shadows extending from Raven’s body began to retract. Yet they did not disappear. They instead fled back beneath her feet, but hovered around her without ever going away.

For the shadows that Raven had called upon were not shadows at all; they were True Darkness. Ancient, powerful and unbelievably dangerous, the darkness was spreading across her body.

And yet, her four eyes that burnt like flames were clenched shut in the bright light, and the darkness seemed to congeal at her feet. Red sparks of lightning shot from her body, and the darkness seemed to swirl at her feet like a vortex.

“She’s weakened!” Nanami called out. “Knock her out!”

When Nanami called for action, Saren immediately started to cast a second spell... But blinked in surprise and lowered his hands, letting his magic fade as Umbra, spurred by the sudden urge of the situation, rushed forward, past all the retreating shadows, passed Raven...

And snapped about with a mighty chop to the back of her neck, landing with enough force to snap any normal human's neck.

Thankfully, the daemonified Raven wasn't nearly as fragile as that... And hopefully, this would take her down.

Saren blinked again, and shrugged.

"... That works."

“I see...” Blake said, sighing softly, then turned to his grandfather Samuel, “May I ask you a favor.”

Samuel nodded, “Of course...It's the least I can do.”

“Give my regards to the rest of the family. Tell them what I'm doing here. And...help protect them, okay?” Blake asked, “Because if he's back...”

Samuel frowned, nodding again, “Yah...He'll almost certainly make a move...You're right. I'll go find them. I'll bring them back here...Though...”

“If they find out...Mom...myself...my siblings...” Blake said. If they knew their connection to The Dark Lord...

“Do you have a plan in case they find out?” Samuel asked, glancing around, looking towards Didymus for a moment, before returning his attention back to Blake.

“I don't know...I think I should tell them, honestly. Better they find out from me, then from someone else,” Blake said, “Perhaps on the boat...”

Samuel sighed again, “Alright...it's your choice. I'll do what I can for everyone else.”

Blake sighed, then paused, moving forward and embracing his grandfather, “Thank you, grandfather...”

Samuel paused as well, then returned the hug. “Good luck Blake...”

Blake then disengaged, turning and walking away.

“I don't require any special provisions. I am ready to go whenever everyone else is,” Blake told Cid.

-Ankh-Morpork-

Raven was attacked from behind by Umbra, Hammah and Jimi pausing as they stared.

Carrot had closed his eyes against the light, and was now searching for Lucien, wondering if he was still around...

-Forest-

Kyran frowned, stalking forward to Lamia, glaring down at the severely weakened monster.

“It doesn't matter! You shouldn't have tried to do all this evil stuff!” Kyran said, then focused. Her shadows formed around her, creating several shadow daggers. She focused, then sent them downwards at Lamia!

Kyran's showing some of her inner-Kanna.

You might want to run, Musashi.
