I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Camelot Castle Town- Blake nodded to the knights, pausing as he turned his head slightly, seeing a brown haired man walking along towards the castle as well. Blake's eyes grew wide, and he disappeared from his seat in a sudden puff of shadows, darting towards the man and stopping in front of him, taking the brown haired man by surprise. “I found you!” Blake said, grinning, “Grandfather!” The man, Samuel, paused, looking down at Blake for a moment, before recognition set in. “...Blake? Is that you? You got taller!” Samuel said after a moment, ruffling Blake's head. Blake had referred to Samuel as his grandfather...though they looked more like brothers then grandfather and grandson... “What are you doing here in Avalon?” Samuel asked, after a moment. “Joyce is with a child,” Blake answered, “I thought you'd want to know...” Samuel paused, sighing a little, “So I'm going to be a great-grandfather then? Huh... Still...I don't think it's a good idea. Your dad isn't very fond of me, you know.” “You're his father. I'm sure Dad misses you,” Blake said. -Ankh-Morpork- Carrot let loose with an arrow, firing at Lucien as he charged, then prepared to stand his ground... There was a low growling noise, and a wolf darted at Lucien from the side, moving fast and intending to tackle him and try to rip his throat out! Sergeant Angua seemed to have disappeared, though... Beast Boy swiped at the Shadowkhan coming towards Raven, roaring loudly, as the other members of the Watch moved. There was a terrible twanging noise, and several Shadowkhan vanished in a haze of wood and feathers, along with part of a wall behind them, Detrius having leveled his converted siege bow at them, which fired a number of arrows at high speeds. Slow to reload, and only a troll could really effectively use it, but it was infamous among the criminals of Ankh-Morpork. -Forest- Kyran frowned, “If I can handle myself in Ankh-Morpork, I'm sure I can handle myself in a forest.” She probably didn't realize that with Elysia in the Watch, most of the other Watch members probably helped make sure no one tried to mess with Kyran... Galv sighed, “You're stubborn like me. Alright, just be careful. There still might be something dangerous in the woods, but I do want to check out the well before we head back...” |

[Camelot Castle Town] Cid chuckled a bit and nodded. “Yes, I’d heard you had quite the journey after we parted ways.” Cid nodded, with the slightest of smirks at the corner of his mouth, half-hidden by his beard. He clapped his gloved hands. “After you have dropped the Princess off at the Castle, come to the Chapel at the Top of the Hill. There are matters we must discuss…” Cid seemed as if there was more he wanted to say, but he did not. He let out another small chuckle and patted Didymus on the shoulder, then he turned and headed off down the road towards an small, very old chapel that sat at the top of a hill on the edge of town. [Ankh-Morpork] Lucien dodged the arrow, but he was knocked to the ground by the wolf. He threw his arm forward, letting the wolf bite down on it instead of his throat. His skin was shielded by a thick leather gauntlet. “Get off of me!” Lucien cried out, and he used his free hand to throw a black powder at the wolf’s face. It was an extremely spicy, grounded pepper that would surely hurt the sensitive nose of a dog. Raven stood in the middle, watching the battle unfold. Detrius and Beast Boy were both proving themselves spectacularly, and she was impressed. There was little Raven could do to help, though, without risking the safety of everyone. ‘Do it, my Daughter. Do what comes… natural. Kill them all. Slaughter them. Raze Ankh-Morpork to the ground and flood the river Ankh with their blood.’ Raven paused and turned as white as a sheet. It had been years since she heard her father speak to her. She shivered, grabbing her ears and dropping down to her knees and whimpering. “No… no, go away… no…” [Forest] Musashi nodded. “Oh yeah… the well…” He paused, and frowned. Ochu didn’t have any connection to water, outside of the usual for a plant. He wondered if the well had a signifigance. |

Camelot Castle Town "I must also drop off the prisoners, Elder." Didymus said. "But I shall go to meet you when my tasks are done." He went first to the castle... "Here we are, Lady Garnet...I can escort you in there, perhaps, if you like, but I do have other errands to attend to. Don't know how much longer the prisoners will remain sedated, as it stands. And they can probably do with a Paladin guard until turned over..." He called for some guards or someone trusted to take Garnet into the castle... |

[Ankh-Morpork] All the talk about dragons and the Dark Brotherhood went right over Umbra's head. All he needed to really know was that there was evil afoot, and his help was needed. So he followed the dark girl and the local authorities to a place where they apparently set up some ambush. Then, Raven started to project some sort of strange power that made his own skin crawl. It was dark. Malevolent. And he actually wondered how she managed to keep herself from doing things with this energy... But she wasn't using it for anything. When the creatures suddenly appeared along with a man in black, Umbra went for his hammer, but paused. His gut was telling him something. That something was off. And he was proven right. Beast Boy and the local guard were handling themselves marvelously against the newcomers and summoned creatures, and Umbra really needed to brush only one of them aside (by brush aside, it meant that the massive half-orc's fist sent one of them flying through a nearby wall with an almost careless-looking backhand). But his help was needed elsewhere now, and as Raven began to mutter to herself, one of Umbra's massive hands ended up on her head. "Ye need ta get yer head outta yer nightmare, Raven-girl. It ain't gonna help ye if yer stuck in yer head all de time." |

[Ankh-Morpork] “Be gone, Half-Orc. These matters do not concern you.” Raven looked up at Umbra and she now looked very different. She now had four eyes, instead of two, and they were glowing completely red. There was no trace of a pupil, and the voice that she spoke in was not her own. It was harsh, brutal and unlike anything Umbra (or the rest of them) would have ever heard before. It was a voice that nothing on Eptina had heard for countless years… nothing save only the Dark Lord. Raven stared up at Umbra for a moment and then suddenly a massive blast of shadows shot at the Half-Orc! [Camelot Castle Town] Garnet nodded to Didymus and she smiled for a moment. “Thank you. I would not have made it here without you… nor would I have survived. You have my eternal gratitude, Sir Paladin. And if chance arises, please pass my thanks onto Master Orlandu and Blake as well.” Garnet said, and she bowed for a moment and then turned to the Knights who would escort her up to Camelot. |

Camelot "Of course, Lady Garnet." Didymus said. "But I would insist that thanks be given unto God." he added. "All the same, I hope things do improve with you." He turned to leave, and after a detour to drop off his prisoners, he went to go see Cid... |

[Camelot Castle Town] As soon as Didymus arrived at the old chapel on the hill, he would find a small host of Paladins already there. One of them quickly directed him to a small room in the back of the chapel, where Cid was waiting. The room was rather plain, with a single table and no chairs. There was a small alter against the wall, and some very old papers on the table. “Brother Didymus, I think it is time I fill you in on some details.” Cid said, as he turned around. His usual friendly smile was gone, replaced with the hardened look of a man on a mission. “I have conferred with the Elders, and they have spoken with the King. We believe we have finally ascertained the meaning behind the King’s dreams of late. Are you familiar with the story of the Great Knight?” Cid asked. |

Camelot Didymus was a tad surprised, perhaps, to see so many already gathered in the old chapel. Nonetheless, he went in to meet with Cid. "Loosely..." he said, in response to Cid's question. "...loosely." |

[Camelot Castle Town] Cid nodded, and rubbed his beard. “I am not surprised. It is an old story, and one that is not told much in these days. However, it is an important story none-the-less. The Great Knight defended the Nation of Man during the War with Darkness. Without his valiance, mankind may not have had a home to return to at the end of that war.” Cid went and stared up at the stained glass window. “After the war, he was witness to a prophecy that was given to the King at the hour of his death. The Knight was the sole witness, but he was instructed to tell no one until the time was right. He spent most of the rest of his life in a monastery, under a vow of silence. In many ways, he exemplified what our Order stands for. He was a man of faith and bravery.” Cid turned around. “As an old man, he departed Avalon. He sailed off to places unknown… but it was said that one day, one who walks the same path he did, would find him and would learn of the prophecy given to the King.” Cid crossed his arms. “He was a man who lived for Faith, and Country, and who stood against the darkness when many others fell. To that end, we Paladins are those who walk the same path he did. We believe the time has come to find his tomb and learn of the prophecy… and I believe you are the one who must do this.” |

Camelot Didymus was quiet as Cid explained the story again, keeping his own thoughts on the subject (which were somewhat mixed) silent. "...I imagine the other Elders have concurred?" he simply asked. |

[Ankh-Morpork] Umbra was the large sort. However, no matter how large he was, magic was always something that defied any sort of physical law or convention. As such, even with an opponent as small as Raven, Umbra was at a disadvantage because she had power... And he didn't. So when he was blasted point-blank by the girl, he went flying with a loud grunt of pain, the force of the energy impact slamming into him like a freight train at full speed. It was a wonder no bones snapped from the impact, for the magical wave was strong enough to send him flying straight through a nearby wall, just like he had previously sent one of the shadow-like creatures through one. His flight was finally stopped outside as he skidded down the street and slammed into one of the walls on the other side, creating another indent before finally dropping to the ground. In the meantime, his hammer went flying in a different direction, luckily not harming anyone but whistling awfully close to Lucien before embedding itself in the ground a few yards behind him. "... Dat was uncalled fer, Raven-girl..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Dark Brotherhood Base] The magic being projected above was simply too interesting for Saren to pass up, so as he stood off against Nanami, he just put away all of his weapons and focused, a ball of force appearing between his hands as he weaved some spell or other, muttering to himself. The ball glowed a bright white and yellow suddenly, before dissipating, and Saren chuckled. "... Huh. I forgot about that." Again, his hands went together, but this time each was glowing individually with the same golden-white light. Slowly, ever so slowly the glow began to dim, tendrils of black and purple slowly permeating through the red and gold and intertwining, dimming the light as Saren's own magical aura began to change from something that was almost fully life-infused magic to something of a balance between life and death. He grew paler, his eyes changed from a steely grey to a brick red, and it looked like he was gaining vampiric traits, before they too faded into a somewhat paler countenance than before. The glow dimmed finally, and he let out a sigh of relief. "Muuuuuch better. Now. Distantia Visionem." Again, an orb of power appeared between his hands, shifting and pulling upon itself before stabilizing into a transparent orb, with a somewhat reflective surface. Saren focused, and an image of Lucien Lachance appeared in the orb, along with images of other people. Once the images stabilized, Saren let his focus drop a bit and watched intently, now ignoring Nanami and the other two watchers completely. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Ankh-Morpork- The wolf whined, moving away from Lucien and rubbing at her nose, trying to get the smell away. Carrot stepped forward, and pulled his sword. It wasn't very fancy. It had a long, tapered blade, and was sharpened often. It was good steel, and it's handle was rather simple, but made well. It was a blade meant to be used. Captain Carrot Ironfounderrson stepped forwards at Lucien, wielding the sword, then struck at him! “Woah, calm down!” Beast Boy yelled, changing back to normal, “What's wrong?” He didn't quite get the whole demonic possession thing. -Dark Brotherhood Base- “Huh...that's the Watch!” Jimi said, looking into the image Saren had made, “Yah...that's Captain Carrot...” Everyone knew Captain Carrot. -Forest- “Right,” Galv said, and took the lead, heading to the well, making sure to keep his eyes and ears open. Kyran smiled and took Musashi's hand in her own, walking with him and humming a bit. -Camelot- “I still don't think it's a good idea...” Samuel said to Blake, “I shouldn't...Galv looks older then me now...It might...it might be hard to face that...” “We're still your family,” Blake said. Samuel sighed, “I have something I have to do here though. I can't just turn my back on it.” “You turned your back on your family,” Blake said sharply. Samuel winced. His grandson had a point. “...I...suppose. I have been getting an ill feeling...” Samuel sighed. He was always worried that Rica would show up again... It still amazed him that Blake would not be here if it wasn't for Rica. Sometimes good things can come from bad... “Who were you traveling with?” Samuel then asked, changing the subject. “A Paladin and a ward of his,” Blake answered, “We met when they were fighting a dark foe. I aided them and they consented to letting me travel with them to here...” He sighed a little, “I have a feeling as well, though, that my travels with them may not be over...” |

[Camelot Castle Town] “We are all in agreement.” Cid confirmed, nodding his head. “Personally, I believe that there is too much happening to be mere coincidence. I believe that this quest is one of great importance.” He turned to Didymus. “What say you?” [Ankh-Morpork] Lucien’s knife flashed out and caught Carrot’s sword with a loud clang. LaChance stepped back, his spare hand flashing with a dark energy that formed into three long points; he thrust his hand forward and threw the magical blades at Carrot! “You cannot defeat the Brotherhood!” Raven was no longer in control of her body or her powers. A great and terrible darkness spread out from beneath her feet, flowing up around her. She held her hand forward and a great claw of darkness slashed at Beast Boy! “This one belongs to me now, as was always her fate. Flee before me and perhaps you will survive a few days more.” The terrible, thunderous voice echoed from Raven’s mouth. [Dark Brotherhood Base] Nanami paused as she looked into the orb. She immediately frowned, seeing the sights that were happening above them. “… I’ve never seen anything like this before. There’s a power at work here that’s… terrible.” She was now positive that there were bigger fish to fry than Saren. [Forest] “Why have you disturbed this forest?” A female voice spoke out from the well. Musashi froze, and reluctantly released Kyran’s hand. He walked over towards the well and peered down; and then he gasped and jumped back. A creature shot out from the top of the well. From the waist up, it resembled a woman in golden armor, with a terrifying mask and long black hair. From the waist down, she resembled a snake. She carried a massive gold spear. She was Lamia. “Has not the contract been made? Who are you to break what was agreed?” The woman asked. |

[Dark Brotherhood Base] Saren watched, looking quite gleeful... And curious. "My, my, the architecture of Ankh has changed quite a bit. So did the construction materials... And they are certainly having quite a bit of fun up there. I can feel that energy all the way down here, she must be one heck of a magician... Except for the entire control part. No self-respecting magus would ever try to remove all their veils and shields like that and project their power. It's obvious, pretentious, and childish." To him, it might as well be. But then again, the presence was tainted, evil, almost daemonic. The fact that it was trying to intimidate everything in the area was quite obvious. "... Curious? Want to go up there and join the fun?" That question really was asked out of nowhere as Saren continued to watch the fight. |
