[Gondor] Garnet climbed aboard into the cart and she sat down, silently hugging her knees to her chest. “I had no idea we would be in so much danger.” Garnet sighed. “The Moblins… Garland… those Shades… but it makes me believe that I am right in my actions, if our mutual enemies are trying so hard to stop this journey.” |

Gondor Didymus wondered how to respond to Garnet as he climbed aboard the cart and took the reigns. "Or it could just mean that they saw we were doing something, and decided to try to stop it." Didymus said. "Let us hope, indeed, even pray, that this was a right action...but I'm afraid that the simple presence of our enemies does not necessairly mean it is such." He paused. "Encounters with foes are not particularly uncommon, perhaps, depending on the circumstances. Take those orc raiders, for example. They probably just saw some people in the wilds and thought we'd be easy targets. And then the other things. As much as I hate to say it, it may not be uncommon for minions of darkness to be somewhere just because they may have caught wind we had an operation in the area, in hopes of nothing more or less than messing with the Order and maybe reducing our numbers by one or two..." He shook his head. "...I guess the takeaway may be...let's be careful how we categorize these attacks. It may be best to pray and set our minds about getting back safely." -Ankh-Morpork- Galv was nervous, but determined, making sure no one could hear him except Elysia. “It's about...your sister...and your brother. Kyran and Blake...” Galv said, “Your grandfather over there...he heard some kind of prophecy a while ago. Something about a child of shadows and involving him and my own father. But the thing is I don't even know what it was, just what my father told me. But it has something to do with Blake or Kyran, the two shadow users in our family. You and Joyce have my spark, something else...So whatever you do, you need to protect your sister. He's probably going to be after her...” Kyran smiled faintly, nodding to her mother. “Oh! Mom, this is Musashi!” Kyran said suddenly, thinking now was a good time to introduce Musashi, “He asked me to have his kid!” She's a little loopy from using so much power at once, and thought that was a hilarious thing to say. Good thing Galv's out of ear shot. “I studied with them briefly, learning many things,” Chase said, stopping just outside the range of a Shout, “As for what I'm doing here, I wanted to see what you could do...Pity, I hoped you'd do better. Needed that fool to kill the dragon, and whoever those two are to fight Maghda.” He sighed, shaking his head, “You are not as strong as I thought you'd be, Nanami. Let's see if you're tough enough at least!” Chase suddenly dashed forward, throwing a fist at Nanami! -Sunderland: Graveyard- “Not quite,” Gallic said as Saber managed to block his Shout. “But that's just details.” He dashed forward at Saber, slashing at her with his telekinetic claws! -Gondor- Blake was quiet as he listened, nodding to Cid as he hurried off with Garland. He paused, walking over to Didymus and Garnet. He nodded deeply to them. “I do not ask for any recompense, as I am sure you would have aided me had our situations been switched. If you will, perhaps, allow me to journey with you, I think I may be of use. I do not think it simple chance that I came across you on my journey. If you don't think that to be wise, I can leave, if you wish...” Blake said towards the two, “My own journey is one which I am stalled on as it is, and the one I am searching for is, as they say in Ankh-Morpork 'not going away for a while.'” |

[Gondor] Garnet shook her head. “I cannot pretend that I have much experience in the world outside of Alexandria Castle, and I do not doubt that there are many dangerous encounters experienced by travelers every day, such as the Orcs who attacked us… but believe me, Garland is a servant of terrible and horrible darkness. He did not come simply to bring me home – if he had, he would have brought the Knights of Pluto with him.” She frowned. “Garland is one of many symptoms of the problems in Alexandria. He was a noble and wonderful man, once. When I was a child, I looked up to him. He would tell me stories of noble knights riding across the world to battle all manner of evil creatures… but in the last several years, Garland has changed. So has my mother, and many others in Alexandria.” Garnet sighed. “Believe me, it is no coincidence that these things have happened – at least as far as Garland and the Shades are concerned.” Then she looked over to Blake, and Garnet hesitated. “I would welcome your help. I believe that with what pursues me, the more help the better… but it is not my place to say. These Paladins have already risked their lives and gone far outside of their comfort zone to help me. Whatever Sir Didymus decides, I will abide by.” Garnet was well aware of how irregular this mission was… though she had a feeling that it would only become more irregular in the future. [Sunderland: Graveyard] Saber had to dodge quickly. Thankfully, she was nimble on her feet, even wearing the bulky armor, and most of Gallic’s attack she could either dodge or block. However, one slash of his telekinetic claws caught her on the left side and slashed across a weak point in her armor. She felt terrible pain and the spray of blood – but it did not daunt her. “You have chosen the wrong person to battle, Don Gallic. I have spent my life preparing to battle things far worse than you.” Arturia replied, and she suddenly used the winds that kept her sword invisible to launch her into the air – and them come down at impressive speeds, and try to bury her sword in his head! [Ankh-Morpork] Musashi froze up and made a little whimpering noise. Kyran was unbelievably cute… but he was starting to think she was also oblivious. “That’s not… um I mean… I ah… so… Wutai… the Shen Gon Wu… errr… magic pants…” Musashi wasn’t sure what he was trying to say. Neither am I. It’s 6:38 am and I should be asleep. Nanami narrowed her eyes to Chase. It took more than simple taunts to throw her off her game. She said nothing to him, instead keeping her scarlet eyes trained on him. She was ready for him to make a move. As Chase rushed at her with a punch, Nanami did not move. She stayed entirely still until Chase was basically upon her, and then she moved with impressive speeds and grabbed his fist as the punch came. “Don’t underestimate me.” Nanami hissed at him, and she tried to punch him in the gut! |

-Gondor- “I understand,” Blake said, nodding to Garnet and turning his attention to Didymus. He held out his hands, palms up. “I know I am not of your faith, and the shadows I use may seem wrong or even evil to you, but I swear upon my honor that I am not an evil man. My father himself carries a great light, and while my mother also carries the shadows I do, she also chose the path of light with him, and thus I also walk the path of my parents,” Blake said, “If you know of a way I can prove myself, I shall do so. But I also understand if you can not take my word, and if you say no, I shall part with no ill feelings, and wish you luck on your journey.” -Sunderland: Graveyard- Gallic darted to the left to avoid Saber's strike, but was not quite fast enough, Saber's powerful sword ripping into his shoulder, removing his right arm in a wrench of bone and muscle. Gallic roared with pain, spinning around and glaring at Saber. His removed arm suddenly burst into flames, burning into ash, scattered to the winds Saber produced. “That hurt,” Gallic scowled, clutching the missing stub that was his arm, “I'll make you pay for that...” Fire burned from the stump now, Gallic's body twisting slightly, bone crunching, muscle and skin reforming, growing back his arm. He smirked, flexing it slightly, as his clothes shifted to cover his arm, looking unhurt, aside from the blood stains still on his clothes. “But I wonder if you can do that too,” Gallic laughed, eying the girl. -Ankh-Morpork- Nanami grabbed Chase's fist, then returned with one of her own. Chase pulled his grabbed fist back, using his entire body for momentum, heavier then Nanami, attempting to make her get off balance and stumble! Jimi and Hammah glanced to each other. They wanted to help, but weren't sure how right now...They'd either get in the way or hurt Nanami as well! |

[Sunderland: Graveyard] Saber watched as Gallic’s arms slowly reformed in a flash of flames. Her eyes widened and she realized this was a very bad situation to be in. Who or whatever Gallic was, there seemed to be a good reason why he was buried beneath Cold Iron. “I don’t need too.” Saber replied, her eyes narrowed. “I can destroy you. You have no idea what you are up against.” Saber did not wish to boast too much, or to reveal her secret… but she was confident that if she had to, she could defeat him. She rushed forward, slashing once again! [Ankh-Morpork] Nanami stumbled and fell forward, but she twisted herself away from Chase for fear of landing on him and getting in range of being stabbed. She twisted to the side, falling away from him. Meanwhile, she burst forward with a frosty spell, cold winds, ice and snow erupting from her hand into his, attempting to make him release her! |

Ankh-Morpork Elysia gave a nod as her father spoke. "Of course I will. I always keep her out of trouble dad" she told him with a slight grin. She then turned serious. "But you'll have to protect mom then, since she's one too...It could be her right?" Elysia wasn't too worried, she knew her dad would never let anything happen to mom. |

-Sunderland: Graveyard- Saber slashed at Gallic, the man holding his arm up and focusing, using his telekinesis to block Saber's invisible air! “Oh, a way to destroy me?” Gallic laughed, “That's what George thought too, but he was sadly mistaken...I said the blood of a dragon runs through me, but that's not all I have...” Fire sprung from his free hand, ready to fire at Saber! Samuel suddenly charged from the side, wearing the cold iron gauntlet, taking advantage of Gallic's surprise to punch him hard in the face, forcing him away. Gallic scowled, twitching on the ground, healing a little slower then usual with the effects of Cold Iron in play... “Two against one? Hardly sporting...” Gallic said, forcing himself back up, “I think it's time I took my leave.” Fire burst from his back suddenly, orange and red, hot and radiant as they briefly formed the shape of wings. Gallic laughed, the fire overtaking him, disappearing... Samuel cursed, shaking his head, turning to Saber. “...This is all my fault...” he sighed. -Ankh-Morpork- Chase spun backwards, letting go of Nanami's hand when she began to try and freeze his. “Not too bad, Nanami...You are skilled in single combat...” Chase said, then jumped upwards, avoiding the pitfall that suddenly appeared below him, landing safely at the edge. Jimi frowned, back in an Earth bending position as he eyed Chase. “I don't really know who either of you two are, but this girl here just helped kill someone who felt seriously evil, so I'm on her side,” Jimi said, “You'll have to deal with us too...” Hammah nodded, focusing his Fire Bending, moving into a stance with electricity sparking at some fingertips. Chase laughed a little, hands behind his back, “I see. I suppose gathering allies can be an effective way to fight.” Galv shrugged, “We don't really know...But I'll always protect your mother.” He smiled to his daughter, then lead her back to Kyran, Melanie, and Musashi. Galv frowned at Musashi, but sighed then spoke to him, “I don't know how you got involved in this mess, but if you decide to leave now, then I can't blame you. But if you want to help, I would be...grateful...” As in he might let you explain if he caught you in a compromising situation with one of his daughters. Might being the key word. “Now hurry...find Joyce, and get out of here, head to...to...” Galv paused, thinking. Where would be the safest place...? “Head to Avalon. Probably the safest place you could be right now,” Galv decided. Plus, he was pretty sure Blake had been heading somewhere in that direction, last he heard from his only son... Galv then took a deep breath, focusing his electricity, before finally turning back to his wife. “If you want to go with the kids, dear, I think that might be best,” Galv said to Melanie, “I don't know if you'd want to face your parents...” Galv then focused, holding up his hands, suddenly firing a blast of lightning at Rica and Kanna! |

[Sunderland: Graveyard] Saber watched as Gallic disappeared in a puff of flames and smoke. She frowned, and slowly sheathed her invisible sword. “… A most unfortunate turn of events.” Arturia sighed. This would weigh heavily on her heart. “Had I used my true blade, perhaps…” She shook her head, and turned to Samuel. “The time for blame is not now. I shall have the Knights of the Round search for that man… and I shall alert the Paladin Order, and have them conduct a search as well.” She sighed. This was an ill day… [Ankh-Morpork] Nanami kept her eyes locked on Chase, and barely acknowledged Jimi and Hammah as they came to her aid. It was not that she was ungrateful for the help, but she would always prefer to take a battle alone. “Don’t patronize me by judging my skills.” Nanami hissed at him. She darted forward, jumping towards him and holding up her hands, sending a blast of giant icicles at him! […] “Of course I’ll help.” Musashi nodded to Galv. He was a little confused about what was going on, but Kyran was amazing, and while Elysia was a bit rude, she was also pretty cute… and Musashi’s code wouldn’t let him let a cute girl get hurt. When Galv turned and fired a blast of lightning at them, Rica merely sighed and held up his hand. Suddenly there was a large shield of ice between them, which shattered from the lightning but did protect the two of them. “Hawkins… for someone charged with lightning, you’re not very bright.” Rica sighed. Then he let out a sadistic smile. “You have no idea the power coursing through my veins… you are less than nothing compared to me.” Rica growled. He snapped his fingers, and suddenly the alleyway had gotten very dark. ((Yeah Rica is insanely over-powered here… but he’s also the Big Bad. XD)) |

-Sunderland: Graveyard- Samuel put the gauntlet away, still frowning a little, then paused, looking towards the girl. “So you're the heir of Uther Pendragon, huh?” Samuel finally said, “I've heard rumors about Avalon's king...” He turned towards, “I suppose I should be candid with you, considering what I've unleashed. My name, as I said earlier, is Samuel Hawkins. And I am immortal.” -Ankh-Morpork- Chase focused, green fire bursting around him as he dodged the icicles, focusing as he fired a blast of green fire upwards at Nanami! “How else am I suppose to judge you then, girl?” Chase asked, “If not by your skills, what then? There is no other way to judge a warrior's worth but by the speed of their strikes, the power of their blows, and the knowledge of their movements!” Kyran hurried off, Musashi and Elysia at least in tow, Galv frowning as the alleyway grew dark. “Yah...I know you're not afraid of me...but you really should be...” Galv said, electricity sparking in his hands, focusing on his powers. He still couldn't see Rica, and blasting randomly could be dangerous, and he didn't have the same amount of raw power he did when younger... “Because your plans are all for naught. That prophecy...I don't know everything about it but I know it's vague enough. I know what my father told me, and why you were worried about me and Melanie...A child of Light and Dark. Well that was Melanie...but then I came along...now you have more to worry about...And all of them know not to trust you...” |

[Sunderland: Graveyard] Arturia’s eyes widened a bit at Samuel’s words. She wondered if what he said could possibly be true, although she had met many unusual people, including the White Wizard. “… Are you? Interesting, although I wonder about that. All things fade given enough time, even the mightiest of mountains can eventually fade.” She shook her head. “But I digress. This Gallic person is a threat, and I must warn the Knights. We should make haste back to Camelot…” [Ankh-Morpork] Nanami watched as the flames came at her and she held up her arms. They twisted around her body, but did not burn her. She jumped back, panting a bit as she was pushed to move quicker than usual. “You are unqualified to judge me at all! I have little time for the likes of you.” Nanami was still concerned as the safety of Ankh-Morpork… the dragon had fallen and Maghda was finally dead, but she feared that things were not over. […] “Yah...I know you're not afraid of me...but you really should be...” Rica laughed aloud, a hearty laughter. “Arrogant whelp! It took the assembled armies of Man, Elf, Dragon and Angel to defeat me. What hope do you have?” Rica was saying too much as he stepped forward. “You know nothing of me, or of the prophecy. Your father is a fool, and you take after him. Unleash the worst you can do… you will not even scratch me.” |

Gondor Didymus was reflecting. Pausing. "...anyone who does not keep the faith walks in darkness." he said, at long last. "...with that said, we may be about to be attacked again, and if indeed things remain as they have been, or Garland was smart, there are elite guards or something about to swarm this position or sweep the area. And I should like to think that I'm not the type to abandon someone to be found and taken like that. Get in, if you so desire. But...I feel obligated to say, I'll be watching. So much as a shadow begins creeping up the lady's back-or mine, for that matter-and you're off the cart." Edited by The Vidit of Light, Nov 24 2012, 10:24 PM.

I can't see what you're imagining

-Sunderland: Graveyard- “If you want, you can try to stab me with your sword,” Samuel said, tapping his chest, “Or just a simple dagger if you'd like. You think an adventurer like me wouldn't be missing some teeth or some serious wounds when I don't even wear armor?” He chuckled a little, shaking his head at various memories, bandits jumping him, thinking him easy prey, only to find him bashing them down one by one before those left standing fled... “As far as I know I am, and if I lived each die like I'd lose my immortality, then what would be the point of having it? But I digress myself now. Since the beast's revival is my fault, I will aid you and your knights however I can.” -Ankh-Morpork- “Unqualified? Who else is qualified to judge a Dragon Born but another?” Chase asked calmly, holding his hands up, “Rejoice, dear girl. Maghda has been slain, the dragon defeated, and Ankh-Morpork saved. I have no desires to see this place fall, I simply wish to test one who might be worthy of my skills.” Chase smiled now, “You could join me, become my protege. You could become so much stronger then you are now, if you'd let me teach you...” “If you're really so powerful my father wouldn't have been able to challenge you himself way back when...you wouldn't be here in the shadows of an alleyway, talking. You're weak. You're terrified of the light in me, even if it's not because of what I can do to you personally...” Galv declared. “If I can keep him talking...hopefully it'll stall him long enough for them to reach Joyce, get out of the city...” Galv thought to himself, “They're smart...and as much as I hate to admit it Sage does have contacts that can probably help them too...” If Sage had been anyone but a certain blond creeper's son, Galv would probably count himself lucky that Joyce had ended up with a guy like him, instead of possible alternatives. Galv may be wiser then he use to be, but he was still brash and too hot headed for his own good sometimes, “Your shadows can't touch me. Not with my electricity, my light...” A bluff, of course... -Gondor- “But in the dark it's easier to see the light,” Blake replied with a small smile, before bowing to Didymus and Garnet. “I understand, and I promise I shall not act against you. If you wish to ask me anything, I will answer it. It is the least I can do for your trust,” Blake added, then climbed into the back of the wagon, finding a small spot to sit in. Thankfully Blake was small, smaller then his parents even, so he didn't take up much room. |

[Sunderland: Graveyard] Arturia was unsure about Samuel’s words… but he was not her enemy, or at least he did not appear to be, and she had graver concerns at the moment. “I welcome your aid. We must return to Camelot and muster the Knights, and I must send word to the Paladins. I would have liked to stay in Sunderland and meet with the Eisenberns… but there is no time.” She sighed, but quickly shook it off. “See if you can find Gawain and the Elf.” [Ankh-Morpork] “To become your protégé would only make me weaker.” Nanami replied coldly. “I study with the Graybeards, whose knowledge and power makes yours insignificant by comparison.” She narrowed her eyes. “A pointless battle brings me no joy… but I will fight you if you insist.” […] Rica actually laughed aloud. “Your father, for all of his immunity, is insignificant next to the powers that I possess.” Rica boasted. “You speak of my ‘shadows’, and only prove your ignorance… I am no mere shadow, boy. I am the vessel of Darkness itself.” He snapped his fingers, and suddenly several tiny hands of darkness shot out of the ground, and out of the walls, all darting towards Galv and trying to grab him and rip him apart! [Gondor] “I cannot tell either of you how to feel…” Garnet spoke up. “But I have seen the corruption spread in my land and to my own mother… I do believe we are facing a threat worse than anything any of us can imagine… the more allies we have to stand against this threat, the better we will be, I think.” |

Gondor "The dark is the absence of light by definition." Didymus said. "But we discuss physical semantics when was speaking of spiritual truths. Anyone who does not keep the faith, or at least tries to...walks in darkness." He took the reigns, and ushered the horses along, and they were off. |
