[Avalon] Gawain nodded. “Then there’s not a moment to spare… we’ll have to take horses down to Sunderland to save time.” The Knight paused, and turned to face Lancelot. “I must ask your discretion, Sir Lancelot. I know that if told, the King would insist on going to Sunderland personally, and that is simply too dangerous.” Lancelot shrugged. “Mums the word… but I wonder if the King doesn’t already know?” [Ankh-Morpork] [Roof] Nanami approached the Assassin and stopped a few feet in front of him. Her red eyes narrowed and her hand was still glowing with a frosty magic. “Who are you, and what do you want?” Nanami demanded. [Museum] Musashi felt a bead of sweat roll down his neck as he realized the older man he had yelled at was Vetenari, the Patrician of Ankh-Morpork. While Musashi wasn’t too concerned with the guards, he could not afford to be kicked out of the city. “Ah… S-Sorry about that… I do like dogs, but not when their bodily fluids are on my shoes.” Then he realized that Vetenari seemed to know who he was, and Musashi raised an eyebrow. “Yes… I am.” [Vale] [Ruins] The Wise One paused, seemingly considering Garet’s question carefully. “Hmm… you’re not knights… but I’m rarely wrong about character. You seem the type who is destined for these stones. Take them, and restore Psynergy to the world! But… know that if the legend is true, your lives are sure to change forever.” [Shop] Raven stepped into the shop and noticed the green skinned boy in the middle. She had been locked up for a long time, and now both of the first two people she saw were green. It was just weird. She got in line behind Beast Boy and said nothing. |

Avalon Sai chuckled. "And is it so bad for the king to go out and have some fun himself once in a while? It sounds like you people are trying to stifle or baby your ruler, and any fighter of worth would hate that sort of thing. Especially if they have to keep their identity hidden. I wouldn't be surprised if he was going stir-crazy right about now with all the world roused like a poked beehive and he's got to sit around and twiddle his thumbs..." It has been a while before that Sai noticed and noted that any time he spoke of the king, the topic was immediately led elsewhere or no one answered. Everybody, the knights of the round table primarily, were trying to keep the king's identity hidden. The WHY of it, however, escaped him. He had no idea what reason they had for hiding the identity of someone who, by their call and standard, was better than all of them with the sword. "Still. I also rarely get sick, and that's only when the disease or poison is cursed or infused with magic. Any normal disease and poison is completely ineffective against me, so I'm not too worried. This place is turning out to be a lot more fun than I expected, to tell the truth. I always thought Avalon was a pretty boring place, but I think knocking on the castle doors was the right decision to find some fun." Grinning, he pulled a small statuette of a horse from his dimensional pocket. It was a representation of a horse, a massive steed of pitch-black. It also looked as though the mane and tail were aflame, and the eyes glowed a menacing red... Sai let his power trickle into the statue as he spoke some sort of activation word in some arcane language, and the statuette began to grow. He dropped it on the ground as it grew into a full-size representation of an enormous horse, easily bigger than any horse has any right to be. It seemed to lose the flames and glow to its eyes, but the red remained as the sound of shattering glass filled the air, followed by movement from the horse as it reared up on its hind legs and neighed into the air. "I've got my horse, so I'm ready to move out." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vale Shop Umbra followed the girl quickly, walking past the many that threw glances his way. While he had several orcish features, such as a distinct green tinge to his skin, pointed ears and square facial features, he retained most of the human side of his characteristics. This, combined with the fact that his armor was nothing like the orcish primitive plates that the race was so fond of using made for an interesting sight. Well... He was also big. REALLY big. And so was the hammer on his back. The big half-orc actually had to duck to enter the shop, and still almost got stuck in the doorway as the handle of his maul caught on the edge. He had to step sideways, bent over slightly and bunched in on himself. While it was more spacious on the inside, he had to avoid the lantern in the middle of the shop, for he surely would knock it aside with his head. "Well ain't dis a quaint little place, eh?" The big guy immediately headed for the corner of the store filled with weapons... And picked out the biggest, toughest-looking bow he could find. While the bow wasn't much bigger than the standard size, it was made to be solid and hard to draw, made for strength and not quickness like most elven bows tended to be. It was this bow that Umbra took right up to the counter and waiting Raven. "Dis be de bow I got ta buy, Raven Girl. An'..." That's when he first noticed the green boy. "Whoa! Dat's not any kind o' half-blood I've ever seen..." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ankh-Morpork [Rooftops] The assassin fired a crossbow, from point-blank range, at the man that was standing behind him. It was more often than not a lethal attack, one extremely hard to dodge and almost impossible to block unless one had a shield with them. It was too close to swing a sword in defense, it was too close to really try to move in response. No, instead, the bolt was simply caught. Caught in between the middle and fore fingers of the man who was simply sitting there, the bolt's sharp tip just a few inches away from the man's chest. Dyne just sighed in response. "One does not attack without knowing truth at first. To attack from behind without announcing is the coward's way, but to shoot someone who frightened you is the idiot's way." His presence never stopped, a massive ki pressing down on everything that came close. He couldn't have been human, no. A giant was sitting there, a titan who was just roused from sleep and glared angrily at the little bugs that dared to awaken him... And then, the feeling was gone as Nanami began to interrogate the poor man. "Ah. We meet again, young crow." |

Gondor Didymus spoke. "A sad day, perhaps, if a Paladin is not warned or cannot notice the presence of a creature of shadow when a mage can sense it clearly...but what is important now is stopping them. ...they ARE adverse to blessed steel, right?" |

-Avalon- “Alright, let's go then,” Samuel grinned, rubbing his hands together. He wondered if he might see the King there anyways, based on what Gawain and Lancelot mentioned to the other. “I take it you Knights will loan me a horse, perhaps?” Samuel asked. -Vale- Ruins Garet nodded slowly, then hurried to the next statue, taking the third Elemental Star. After that shaking had died down, he hurried, and grabbed the fourth. “Well that wasn't too hard...” he muttered. Shop The green skinned youth paused, turning as others entered the store. One was a pale girl, and the other a large, green skinned half orc. “Hey, I'm not a half orc,” Beast Boy frowned, “I just had an...accident, when I was little...” -Ankh-Morpork- Roofs The assassin was breathing heavily, eyes darting from Nanami to Dyne, then heard scrambling, seeing Angua appear up on the roof too. “Officer!” the assassin yelled, throwing himself forward, “I demand to be arrested! I'm only doing my job!” Angua paused, looking towards Dyne and Nanami, then back to the assassin. “Someone hired you to kill her?” Angua asked, pointing towards Nanami. The assassin was quiet, not wanting to answer. “You know, Mister Vimes is going to want to know too,” Angua mentioned. A flash of fear came over the man's face. “Oh...ummm...yes...She is on contract,” the assassin said, “I don't know who put her up though...” Angua frowned, then leaned closer to him, “Personally, I wouldn't mind letting you go, so you can tell all your other friends not to mess with her. But since she's the one you tried to kill...” Angua straightened up, turning back to Nanami, “Your choice. What do you want to do with him?” Museum Vetenari gave Musashi a small smile, turning back to look at a tapestry from Wutai, “Young man, if I didn't know who was in my city, I would scarcely be qualified to rule it.” He paused, his eyes turning to the Talisman on display, then back towards Musashi, “Tell me young man, why are you here? Are you looking for a leg up on your older siblings to become Emperor, perhaps?” |

[Avalon] [Camelot] Gawain looked to Sai and shook his head. “You are a skilled warrior… but you lack priorities. There are far more important things in the world than simple combat. The King has many responsibilities to the people, and all are more important than combat.” Gawain soon led the group out of the courtyard and in front of the castle, where there were already horses waiting for them. They were large and powerful horses, all clearly fine steeds, but one stood out among the others. This horse was black, with large white streaks throughout its body, and over its face. The animal had certain majesty to it. In truth, it was a gift from the province of Rohan – and it was well known that the Horses of Rohan were the finest that mankind had ever bred. The moment Gawain saw the horse he could only groan, for he knew what it meant. The woman from before soon appeared. She was still wearing the blue and white dress, but now she had greaves, gauntlets and a breastplate. She had a sword hanging on the left of her belt, and on the right her belt sagged as if a sword was there as well, but there was nothing to be seen. “I must object to—” Gawain started, but she held up her hand. “We have no time for a debate today, Sir Gawain. I am going. Lancelot, you shall stay and see to things at Camelot.” The blonde woman stated. Lancelot merely sighed. “… Alright.” Gawain wasn’t quite done arguing, however. “Be reasonable… I am traveling with… strangers.” “Yes, I noticed.” She replied, her eyes briefly flashing to Sai and Samuel. “They are your responsibility. Keep them in line, Gawain. Now, enough talk. Saddle up, we ride.” [Vale] [Shop] Raven looked over at Beast Boy for a moment, and she had to wonder just what he was. His ears were pointed like an elf, but his skin was green like an orc. She could not imagine an orc and a elf having a child together, so this seemed… odd. Then again, Raven had a rather peculiar parentage as well… but that’s a topic for another quest. She ignored Umbra and Beast Boy, and instead went looking for the food. She had not eaten anything but the prison slop for quite a long time. [Ruins] The moment Garet took the fourth Elemental Star, the flames at the bottom of the chamber erupted in full glory! Fire shot up and magma began to spill into the room. The chamber was quaking, and stones were falling from above. “It is done then…” The Wise One mused. “Ah, wait! Okay… so, valiant knights… or, ah… children… hmm…” He trailed off as a large rock hit the ground next to Felix. He jumped back. Then the Wise One spoke again. “Oh, right. So… you are the ones who found the Elemental Stars! So, it falls to you to restore Psynergy to the world! You must seek out the Elemental Lighthouses and relight them with the Stars. Ho-horum… but it will be fraught with danger.” [Gondor] [Cart] “Believe me, boy, this is hardly the first time Shades have crept up on those who should be able to sense them.” Cid frowned, looking out the back of the cart. “It is precisely why they are so dangerous…” The Shades were closing in on the cart. The shadowy figures, cloaked all in black, were letting out horrible hissing noises. In their ‘hands’, they clutched black blades that seemed to be leaking out horrible smoke. “I have not fought such a creature since I was just a lad,” Cid recounted. “But they will fall to our blades. Still, I would rather we not cross swords with them at all… they are sneaky, and will likely target the Princess.” As the creatures got closer, Cid clutched his sword, ready for battle… but suddenly there was a streak of light across the blackened sky, and something smashed into the ground several hundred yards ahead of them. The horses of the cart, surprisingly, seemed to immediately run towards the impact… [Ankh-Morpork] [Rooftop] Nanami was not an expert on the laws in Ankh-Morpork, nor was she particularly eager to make an enemy of Angua or the City Watch in general. “Who hired you? Was it a woman called Maghda?” Nanami demanded. “And more important, why did they hire you?” Nanami had been careful. The only time she had shouted since arriving in Ankh-Morpork was during the battle with The Butcher. Still, if someone knew what she was, they would likely send assassins. She had to wonder… [Museum] Musashi blinked. He was still surprised and suspicious that Vetenari knew who he was, but when the Ruler of Ankh-Morpork speculated on Musashi’s motive, the boy could only laugh. “I wish I had the time for luxuries like trying to get the throne.” Musashi shook his head. “No, sir… I’m here in the museum because I’m on a date, though I suppose by ‘here’ you probably meant Ankh-Morpork… in that case, I’m here because I’m looking for a man who wronged me long ago.” Musashi didn’t really want to tell Vetenari about the whole ‘death curse’ part. |

Gondor Didymus simply listened as Cid spoke. Not the first time? So this is a REGULAR occurrence? Heh, that does NOT do my concerns any good at all...and he'd rather NOT cross blades with them? So, we can't even hold the line? Is that the idea? I thought we were to give not one step back in the face of heresy and shadow... Still, when the streak of light occurred and the horses bolted, he cried out and hung on! "BLAST! Now runaway horses!" He leaped to the reigns of the cart, battling with them while still holding his sword. |

-Avalon- Samuel wasn't a genius. He had met several people in his travels who could think rings around him. Usually he beat those people from his sheer tenacity. But that didn't mean he was an idiot. Whoever this girl was, she was important. He rubbed his chin, thinking. “Hmmm...maybe she's the King's daughter? Is the King even old enough to have a daughter that old? Don't really know much about the guy...” Samuel thought to himself, then shrugged. He'd find out later, or he wouldn't. “Don't worry ma'am,” Samuel said to the girl, “You don't have to worry about me. The name is Hawkins. Samuel Hawkins.” -Vale- Shop While the storekeeper was use to a certain amount of unusualness, the three currently in his store were pushing that a bit. He frowned, but as long as they didn't do anything, he'd just sell what they wanted and take their money. “Hey...uhhh...” Beast Boy paused, looking towards Umbra and Raven, “This might sound odd...but are you two headed towards Ankh-Morpork?” The shop keeper seemed to relax a bit at this. People heading to Ankh-Morpork? That seemed a good explanation for why they were odd. Ruins “It's a bit fraught with danger right now!” Jenna yelled, as Garet avoiding a flaming rock, jumping for his life and heading towards the others. -Ankh-Morpork- Roof “I don't know who hired me! That's kept secret!” the Assassin said, holding his hands up, “All I knew was what you looked like and the price I'd get for the job!” “He's telling the truth,” Angua frowned. She could tell because she could smell and hear the man better then anyone else here...though she wouldn't say why, “It's the senior members of the Guild who deal directly with the clients...” Museum “You can find much in Ankh-Morpork. Love and revenge are two excellent examples,” Vetenari mused as Musashi explained why he was in the city, “I would suggest inquiring with the City Watch, they've gotten quite good at their job. Possibly the Thieves' Guild as well, or the Beggars' Guild. They see more then they let on, but be careful of your money in both cases.” Kyran frowned a little, looking to Musashi, but didn't say anything. She was curious about this person who wronged him. |

Avalon Sai shook his head at Gawain's comment. "No, it;s not the fighting that I'm talking about. Don't get me wrong, I like a good fight as much as the next guy, but you're limiting the king to serving the country, and he's missing out on adventure. I don't know about all of that responsibility, but I'd hate to be buried in papers and complaints from fat nobles all day long." The elf shrugged casually. "But I hate politics and I'd make an absolutely terrible monarch and I know it. It's why I don;t join in on all of that hype about world dominion and taking over other countries. There isn't anything waiting for me but disappointment. It's much better to find adventure instead of locking myself down to a some task or another." He patted the mane of his own steed, diving into his dimensional pack and pulling out a bag of feed, wrapping it over the rose's mouth so it could eat. While the magical statuette WAS an inanimate construct, it gained energy from consumption and rest, just like a normal horse. It could rest while in statuette form, but it did have to eat, and demanded food every time it was summoned. Not like Sai denied such a requirement. Horse feed was common and easy to buy. But he was running low on his own stores... He'd have to buy more soon. That's when the woman appeared, and Sai's eyebrows shot up the moment he saw the sagging belt. He couldn't see the blade. He couldn't even identify its aura. But what he COULD see was the massive air current, compressed and twisting around the vague image of a blade, the magic so potent and powerful that it made him want to squint even though there was no bright light around him. That wasn't any normal sword, and this ability wasn't anything normal either. It masked even against his usually magically-sensitive eyes and his presence was rebuffed by it as well. That kind of protection... Why hide the blade so well? Well, whatever. She had her secrets, he had his. Just like her blade's magic was hidden, his swords were also covered by his own presence, unidentifiable by magical eyes. But the comment she continued with gave Sai just the right amount of annoyance to work with. He ignored the blade and crossed his arms, glaring at the woman. "Oi. I haven;t insulted you yet, and I respect you as a fellow swordsman, but I also expect to be respected as a warrior in return, and not talked down to like some untrained mutt. Gawain doesn't need to watch me like some babysitter, I've lived for long enough to take care of myself." Having spoken his peace, he jumped onto the back of his steed, settling in the saddle of the large, black horse and looking down at the unsaddled group. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vale [Shop] Umbra nodded quickly. "Yup. We're headin' in dat way, yeah, what's it to ye?" He let the shopkeeper look at the bow and set his price before pulling out a pouch of coins and drawing out the hundred or so gold coins for the weapon and ammunition. He slung it over his shoulder a second later, and clipped the quiver to the side of his rather enormous backpack, making sure the arrows were well within reach. "Ye don't need ta worry much 'bout de food, Raven Girl. I can pick some of da stuff we come across. Jus' need some spices an' stuff to cook meats and greens wid. Pick out some of da bread an' cheese if ye want t'ough, I ain't got de stuff to bake bread or make de cheeses." Umbra was a wandering fighter, and spent a lot of time on foot and by himself on the road. He had learned how to cook simply due to necessity, and could prepare meals simply from the things he picked in the woods. They were basic survival skills, something his mother made sure to beat into his thick skull before sending him out into the world. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ankh-Morpork [Rooftops] Dyne rose from his seated position, standing on the rooftop with his jingling, ringed staff as he looked at the assassin curiously from under his straw hat. "Then perhaps you could take us to the one who actually does the deals? The monkey would be very interested in the same thing as that woman in black armor, and this Maghda has caused quite a lot of trouble on her path of destruction. This monkey here would REALLY like to know if it is her and any information about her." He walked towards the assassin, smiling pleasantly and his ki back down to normal human levels, but it was the sort of assured walk that the man knew that the assassin could not harm him, however hard he tried right now. "So, you will take us to the person who made the deal, or somebody who knows who made the deal. You will, won't you?" |

[Vale] [Shop] “I’m sure you can keep us with food on the journey, but it’s been a while since I’ve eaten anything… good. So I’m looking for something for right now.” Raven admitted. She had been living on a rather unpleasant gruel while in captivity, and some kind of solid food sounded absolutely divine. Raven’s eyebrow rose when Beast Boy asked if they were headed towards Ankh-Morpork. She supposed it wasn’t too suspicious for someone to assume that. Raven was a fairly creepy young woman, and Umbra was a hulking half-Orc. They were a very odd duo, and Ankh-Morpork existed largely because of oddities. “Yes, we are.” Raven replied, watching Beast Boy with suspicion. She had just escaped from a dungeon where she was used as a energy source for evil magical experiments, so she wasn’t in the most trusting of moods. “Why?” Raven asked in an icy voice that even Nanami would have been jealous of. [Ruins] “Garet!” Felix called out. “Come on, everyone, we have to get out of here now! This whole place is coming down!” [Ankh-Morpork] [Roof] Nanami let out an annoyed sigh. Normally she would have interrogated the assassin more, but Angua seemed convinced that he was telling the truth. “We don’t need him to find the Guild Leaders. I’ll head down to the Guild myself.” Nanami replied without missing a beat. On some level, Nanami knew that it would probably be very difficult to simply walk up to the head of the Assassin’s Guild and find out who his clients was, and she had to wonder if perhaps the City Watch would even be on board for helping with this one… At the same time, it didn’t detour her in the least. “If this is simply someone trying to kill me for some personal reason, that’s fine, I’ve dealt with assassination attempts before… but I fear that this is Maghda’s means of keeping me off her trail.” [Museum] Musashi couldn’t help but smirk a bit. “Finding love and revenge would be excellent… but for right now, I’ve got a preexisting engagement. Nice meeting you, sir.” Musashi knew how to be diplomatic, to a point, but he was eager to get away from Vetenari. The man was a bit scary, and Musashi was well aware of how good he was of putting his foot in his mouth. [Gondor] Cid was silent, watching the Shades as they followed them, hissing loudly. However, when Didymus started to fight with the reigns, Cid held up his hand. “Stay your hand, brother! I have a feeling the horses are going precisely where they should.” Garnet was silent, out of terror. Her face was white and she was clutching her arms. “C-Can we defeat those things?” Garnet asked. “We can,” Cid replied instantly. “But no one has fought a Shade since the Great War, and I would rather engage such nightmarish things in Avalon.” The cart was rapidly approaching the place where the streak of light had smashed into the ground. There was a great light emanating from the site, and as they approached, the Shades suddenly came to a halt. They hissed and shrieked in a horrible voice, and they fired black arrows towards the cart, but none of them seemed to connect. The horses suddenly calmed and stopped as they came to rest just next to the impact zone. Cid’s face lightened a bit. “Perhaps our situation is not as dire as we thought…” [Avalon] [Camelot] “You wish for my respect? Then show some in return. You speak boldly, boast of your abilities, and you flagrantly use all manner of… questionable magic… while a guest in Camelot. I have no time for your hurt feelings.” She turned back to Gawain and Samuel. “Now come! Saddles your horses, for we ride. If the rumor of what is happening in Sunderland is true, then we must move with all haste. I will not allow these things to happen in Avalon.” |

Avalon Sai chuckled, honestly amused, not in the least bit insulted by what the woman said. She rebuffed him with more lip and sharper tongue than many men have done before, and that by itself also impressed him. The hidden sword, her posture, he absence of combat tells... It all pointed to the fact that she was more of a warrior than any of them in this group. Maybe even surpassing his own skill with the sword... It definitely got his blood pumping. Besides, it wasn't as if she was lying or speaking wrongly about him. Confidence and arrogance walked hand in hand, and he often did end up boasting about his abilities. He knew perfectly well that his own attitude was arrogant, confident and often rubbed others the wrong way, especially those who valued humility over arrogance. "Oh, I'm definitely going to like working with you, woman. I foresee a lot of interesting things in the near future." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vale [Shop] Umbra tapped his chin in thought. "Ye got a point... T'ough I need ta tell ya ta be cautious 'bout eatin' a lot. Ye've not had any of dem solid foods fer a while, so yer stomach may rebel. I'm gonna set up some soup fer tonight, if ye want." He was VERY familiar with that particular problem. On his trial of manhood, when he was sent by his ma to live in the wilderness for three months during the winter, that's when he found that going hungry and then gorging on solid food only made him very sick. He's never done that again since then. Thankfully, he could help others by granting such advice. Raven was a skinny thing, almost waifish, and she definitely needed feeding, but he couldn't let her eat too much. Then again, maybe that magic stuff gave her an iron gut... "... ROIGHT! Fergot about sumthin'. Oi, shopkeep! Ye gots any mead in stock?" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ankh-Morpork [Rooftops] Dyne shook his head, barring Nanami's path with his jingling staff. "The crow may wish to wait before hasting to a failed objective. The rabbit is often caught, no matter how fast he sprints for his home. Similarly, the rabbit just as often escapes the hunting wolf, who is left hungry and annoyed by the rabbit's getaway." He pointed the shakujo at the assassin. "But if you watch the rabbit fly to his home, find the home and follow it, then the chances of you getting more than one prey is rather high, don't you think? One must lure out the turtle from it's shell before you could harm it." He shook the staff once, letting the rings jingle again. "Take us there, assassin. Lure out the one in charge. [Avalon] Arturia said nothing. She simply motioned for her steed to ride forward, and it did so. The horse began to gallop away from the castle, and Gawain soon followed. Gawain still seemed unsure about all of this. Sai and Samuel were interesting, and Gawain certainly wanted to get to know these strangers, and perhaps show them the value of a Knight’s way of life – but he was uneasy having them around Avalon’s King, even if they did not know who she truly was. They would ride towards Sunderland! [Vale] [Shop] The shopkeeper nodded. “We’ve got many varieties of fine meads and ales. We even have an old Nordic Mead recipe. It was handed down generation to generation, since the First Age.” The First Age referred to the time before the Great War. The world had changed a lot since that time – when the nation of Skyrim fell and became the Dark Lands. Raven, meanwhile, was still interested in Beast Boy, and his questions. She was curious… and suspicious. [Ankh-Morpork] [Rooftops] Nanami’s first instinct was to merely evade Dyne’s staff, but she decided not to. Instead she turned to look at him as he spouted more cryptic talk. She followed along with what he was saying, but his concern was misplaced. “We hardly need to follow him to find the people in charge of the Assassin’s Guild… and I’ve always preferred to simply break the turtle’s shell rather than waste my time luring it out.” Nanami replied. “I’m sure the Head of the Assassin’s Guild will see me. If he refuses too, I’m simply start knocking down the walls of his Guildhouse until he changes his mind.” |

Ankh-Morpork [Rooftops] Dyne shook his head calmly. "If you attack the walls, the rat will slip underneath. If you cover from underneath, it will slip through a broken wall. Unlike a turtle, a rat would seek escape through the smallest of cracks, and get away while the rat-catchers search in vain." He lowered his staff, bringing it back to himself with a practiced motion, letting it jingle again as he used it as a walking stick. "One must use a hunk of cheese to lure a mouse. If you try to catch a mouse within its caverns, it shall simply run and hide. But if it comes to you, then perhaps a mousetrap could be handy." Sure, he was cryptic about it, but Dyne's message was relatively clear. If they tried to go there and seek an audience with the guy, the assassin head might smell something fishy and escape before they could catch him. But if they lured the man so he would meet with them instead without knocking down his walls... Then that offered much more opportunity to get the information they needed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vale [Shop] Umbra grinned widely. HE saw no reason to distrust the shopkeeper in his claim, so he leaned over the counter eagerly. "Really? Ye gots actual NORD mead??? Den I'm buyin'! A full cask of it, if ye can be so kind. Dat and a bottle for de Raven Girl here." |

[Ankh-Morpork] [Rooftops] Nanami shook her head yet again. There was wisdom in Dyne’s words, and they would apply to most occasions, but Nanami knew that things were never as they appeared in Ankh-Morpork. “The Assassin’s Guild is a reputable, licensed organization in this city.” Nanami explained. “If the Guild’s Head slunk away like a rat every time someone tried to talk to him, the Assassin’s would be the laughingstock of every Guild in this city.” She sighed. “There’s no reason to make this complicated. We simply go to the Guild and demand an audience with him. If you really want to play it safe, then you or Angua can go and request the audience so he won’t know it has anything to do with me.” [Vale] [Shop] Before the shopkeeper could ring up Umbra’s order, Raven paused and stared at him. For a moment, she just starred in a very creepy manner and then she sighed. “He’s lying, Umbra. It’s not ‘Nordic’ mead. It was made in his garage, and using a very basic recipe at that.” Raven explained. The shopkeep gasped. “W-What? How did you know? I mean, err… no, she’s wrong… the recipe is from the old Nord country…” Raven simply rolled her eyes. “What was the Nord Country called?” The shopkeep blinked. “Err… ahh… Nordland?” Raven shook her head. “Wrong. Now… how about our food is half-priced, and I won’t tell everyone in Vale that you’ve been lying about selling Nord Mead so you could raise the price three times higher than what Alexandrian Mead sells for?” The shopkeep paled up, and he hastily agreed. |

I'll bite your legs off!

Gondor When Cid told him to stay his hand, Didymus complied, but reluctantly. Feelings were never much of a guiding star to him, and he was reluctant to act when someone said they had a FEELING that a decision should be based on. But he followed orders. “But no one has fought a Shade since the Great War, and I would rather engage such nightmarish things in Avalon.” "I'm not sure being in Avalon will make any real difference, elder!" Didymus called. Didymus observed the situation with caution. "A mage was the first one to be alerted to these things, rather than us. And now appearently the animals are comforted by this..." he said. He said no more, keeping his sword up, but he was wary. I've seen the ability to reach out to and comfort animals-it's one of the favorites of pagan tribes...and this shade being detected first by a mage and not us...making me wonder about THEIR nature...I do hope this is good, but...all manner of heathen faiths-or lack of a faith altogether-have false lights... He simply stood, quiet, somber, wary. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Ankh-Morpork- Rooftops “There's only two cops the head of the Assassin's Guild will agree to see. That's Mister Vimes, or Captain Carrot,” Angua said, “We have little occasion to talk to them as it is. They no longer take out bounties on Vimes, and they always leave their card on those they kill. We could go to Mister Vimes or Carrot and ask them for help.” Angua sighed, “If you want to just bust in...well, you have to realize that you will be walking into a place full of people whose job it is to kill others. Just because this one wasn't able to handle your magic doesn't mean all of them will be that easy. This one's young, inexperienced. Plus if you do that, the Watch will have to arrest you. It sucks, but that's the law around here. You'll be attacking citizens of Ankh-Morpork. But if you think it's Maghda, then this is a Watch investigation still, plus...” Angua smiled, “Vimes really doesn't like the Assassin's Guild. He'd be willing to help you just on that.” Museum “Of course, of course,” The Patrician said, bending down and picking up Mr. Wuffles, his dog, and holding the elderly mutt carefully, “Enjoy yourself in this fine city. My office door is always open.” He headed off, and the men in nice black suits following behind him, leaving the museum. “So why are you trying to get revenge?” Kyran asked now, poking Musashi. Elysia sighed. “Sis, you can't just ask someone why they're trying to get revenge...” Elysia said, but then narrowed her eyes at Musashi, “But whatever it is you better not get my sister involved in all that...” -Vale- Shop “Errr, I was wondering if I might be able to tag along?” Beast Boy asked Raven, “It's a bit of a way there, and I'm by myself...” He grinned sheepishly towards Raven, “I can pull my own weight, don't worry, I won't be a burden or anything!” Ruins Garet made it back to the others, running for the door still. “Come on, we better hurry!” Jenna yelled, pulling Isaac along as well as they headed for the exit... -Avalon- Samuel rode off with them as well! |
