Vertibirds Shizuo frowned a bit, actually fearing the answer. "Can you believe it? The games are over. For the longest time, I expected to turn 19 and be done with it. So much for that." He shrugged. "At least I never had to take a life. Just those..green things.." He was calm, for once. Shizuo didn't make many friends..but he always tried to surround himself with people that wouldn't tick him off. --- Shipper nodded. "They..I heard them mention some place call an ay-cha-cue. Ehhhh...I don't really know what that is, to be honest." He scratched his head anxiously. "But! You'll never have to go back to the orphanage!" From what she said of it, it sounded awful. He then grinned. "Oh yes, cola's the best! It's been around forever and it never goes flat! I bet they're 'll be some at this ay-cha-cue place." Camp Echo Cole folded his arms as the Legate ran out. "We'll fight. If only because he offered to help us out a little more..and that Legion assassin's squad are probably going to try and kill us, too." He sighed. "Of course, this will cement a negative rep with the Legion, but screw 'em." He followed the Legate's example, and ran out with his amp. In truth, it also bothered Cole morally that he led a group of Legion soldiers to Graham. He raised his amp now and brought it down, creating an electromagnetic shockwave; he was hoping to scatter the Legionnaires. Edited by GameandWatch, Nov 11 2012, 09:19 AM.

[Camp Echo] “Now you’re speaking my language, Cole!” Nix said with a grin. She rushed forward and quickly suspended a few of the Legionnaires in a thick, oil-like substance that was highly flammable. “I’m from NCR. Fighting the Legion is a better decision than siding with them.” Kuo agreed, and she moved forward and created a barrier of ice to help them with defenses. Nina… had vanished. Wherever she had gotten to, she wasn’t anywhere to be seen. The Legionnaires poured into the camp, shooting and throwing spears in every direction; but they were no match for Cole, Graham and the others. But then a new figure appeared. Legate Lanius. [The Arena] Lavan had hijacked a tank. Something the Enclave would have called impossible, but they were watching it happen. This was a major problem. If this Tribute seized the tank and it ended up in Rebel hands, then the Rebels would likely reverse engineer some of the Enclave’s precious tech – and that could shift the balance of power, even slightly. Unfortunately for Lavan, the Enclave squadrons were here to deal with a problem in the Games – and that meant they came prepared. “Get the Portable out here!” Dr. Jack Maddox, one of the Enclave’s most brilliant and deranged minds, had been working on something for the battlefield with the Rebels. The main reason the Enclave could not easily exterminate them was because the Rebels established bases outside of the Pylon range, which made assaulting them more difficult. So Maddox had created a portable pylon. It wasn’t as strong, but it was mobile. A tank rolled forward, broadcasting the Pylon signal. As it got closer to the tank Lavan had stole, Lavan would find his powers suddenly growing weaker, and if he got close enough to the Portable Pylon, he would be without them entirely! The Arena Lavan was flying. He was flying and laughing and generally having a good time as the only living tank operator behind him passed in and out of consciousness. The tank was gaining speed and altitude with every second, but it was still relatively low to the ground. Lavan actually had to shift his power to swerve the large, flying object as he avoided some rather distant (but surprisingly precise) plasma shots from the tanks underneath his flying contraption. The tank's outer shell heated further and further, and it was absolutely BAKING inside the steel frame, but Lavan basked in it like in a heat spa, while the man behind him barely held onto his life. Everything was going well until the flame shell around the tank flickered and began to diminish. Lavan's gleeful expression suddenly gre a little more apprehensive as he checked the control panels, but found that most of them had already blown out from the heat. He popped his head out of the top of the tank, and saw that he was losing altitude. "Well... Crappy. Why the heck am I losing altitude? Darn powers, WORK! Wait, is there a pylon around there?" Looking over the area around him, Lavan couldn't make out the tell-tale crystal form and glow of a pylon, which made things even more befuddling, but he figured that at least something ahead of him was doing SOMETHING to mute his ability. Carefully examining the Enclave defensive line, he let his eyes rest on the biggest tank in the area, one that had a surprisingly small gun for something that large... Could that have had something to do with this? Still, he was a sitting duck. He was losing altitude, his control over the heat around the tank was slipping, and the shell of the machine began to cool as its thruster-wings began to dim further and further, the flames no longer supporting the massive weight of the hulking machine as it fell. But Lavan suddenly got this insane, insane idea... And with as much control as he could muster, he leveled out the tank, and let it fly as he rolled to the top of the machine and flew. He was getting closer and closer to the enemy squadron with the strange tank and its entire defensive force. As he flew closer, his control continued to slip at a steady rate, and he could almost be SURE that the big tank was the cause of whatever it was that was happening to him. So Lavan made tiny adjustments to his own flying machine's trajectory and waited until the last moment. When a large object loses buoyancy, it sinks. When it loses lift, it begins to fall. And similarly, the less lift an object has, the more it falls. Lavan's timing had to be absolutely perfect for this, and incoming plasma was NOT helping maters. Luckily, the plasma shots impacted against the hull of the tank, not doing anything to him as they were, but it was STILL converging fire on a tank. It wasn't going to hold for long. Luckily, it didn't have to. Lavan's trick to make the tank fly was to manipulate the heat into thrust. With the manipulation gone, the HEAT remained, but the thrust was gone. The tank was warmed up to the point of being somewhat soft on its delicate metallic parts, such as the copper wiring and other similar control modules. None of the controls in the tank would ever respond ever again. Then, Lavan's contorl disappeared as he entered the actual area of the hidden pylon, and the tank's momentum sent it on a careening course with the largest moving structure amongst the enemy troops (which, Lavan hoped, was the cause of this.) There were a few seconds of vertigo, and Lavan JUMPED, hoping to get away from whatever was about to happen, jumping off the tank and thrusting himself into the air and out into the open. It was suicidal. It was crazy. It brought him into firing range of everything around him. It was the only thing he could do. The tank he was flying in finally impacted... And that was the last thing that finally set it off. Previously on overload procedures, the reactor of the tank was already going critical. With the additional heat, the reactor was close to blowing the moment Lavan's control began to slip. Finally the stress of the impact was too much. The energy reactor of the tank, a power source that could fuel several weapons that could by themselves punch holes in a dozen feet of steel, spectacularly detonated. The blast was tremendous, and so was the heat. Unfortunately for Lavan, his powers were down until the pylon went down, so he had to rely on his own natural resistances for those few crucial seconds. And while he has been around fire all his life and was highly resistant to it, there was only so much that could do against a heat wave emitting from a detonating power generator. It took all of five seconds for the blast to obliterate the portable pylon and everything around it, but during those five seconds, Lavan was in mid-air and wide open for the incoming blast. It sent him careening off to the size, the heat wave washing over him and destroying most of what he was wearing, scorching him beyond recognition. Then, as he was passing out from the pain, his powers kicked in and his passive abilities activated, the heat around him suddenly drawn in like into a vortex, his body going through rapid regeneration. It was a torturous thirty seconds, but the blast was enough to get Lavan completely back on his feet. For a second, he just remained where he was, stupefied. Then, finally, he started laughing. "He. Hehe. Heeheehee. HehehehahahaHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! IT WORKED!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! IT WORKED!!! AAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAaaaaaaaa oooooooooooh god that hurt..." Edited by HellAvatar, Nov 12 2012, 03:15 AM.

Vertibirds Melanie felt like she was having a bad dream...Everything was rather fuzy and her head was pounding. Her heart was racing like in bad dreams too...It took her a few moments to open her eyes, and when she did she was staring at men in uniforms staring back at her. Instantly the girl gave a squeak of terror, and at the same time forced herself not to throw up. Her head was still spinning... "Woah...Calm down kiddo" One of the men said "Go back to sleep. We'll be there soon" Melanie wanted to ask where 'there' was...But she couldn't form words. Instead she just choked on a bit of air and closed her eyes again. |

[Vertibirds] Soon, the Vertibirds had lost their Enclave tail. They flew for a long time, in various directions. Finally they got word it was time to start landing. The Vertibirds flew to a clearing, near a dense forested area outside of Enclave territory. They landed, and in the clearing were several jeeps. “Get the Tributes unloaded into the jeeps!” Nanami commanded as she jumped out. “And get the wounded into the medical truck!” There was a large medical truck, equipped to transport those who had been injured. “Hurry people! The Enclave WILL find this place.” The plan was for the NCR to take the Vertibirds back to their territory, while the rebels moved the Tributes by ground to their base. The Enclave would follow the Vertibirds, and miss the Tributes entirely. [The Arena] With the Portable Pylon destroyed, and a crater created where it had been, the Enclave was suddenly stopped in their tracks. The soldiers were confused, and the leaders had no idea what to do. They moved, trying to find the person who caused this damage, but in the confusion and fires they missed Lavan. |

Vertibirds The Vetibirds started to land and Sarai started to have a full on panic attack once more. She didn't like sudden changes, and all the people yelling (even when they were friendly) was really starting to scare her. The girl clutched Connor's hand as he was being wheeled towards one of the medical trucks....Connor and Chloe were hurt, but she and Edda were okay...She wondered if they'd let her come along for the ride? She promised not to take up much space, or make any noise. She'd sit in the corner of the truck and stare at the floor if it meant she could stay near Connor and the others. |

[Vertibirds] Sarai was allowed to come along with Connor in the medical truck. Nanami came too, deciding that she would protect the injured Tributes herself. Nanami seemed to notice how unhappy Sarai looked. She paused, and looked to the girl. “Relax. We’re safe right now, and soon we’ll be at the base and then we don’t have to worry about the Enclave anymore.” |

Vertibirds "Relax. We’re safe right now, and soon we’ll be at the base and then we don’t have to worry about the Enclave anymore.” Sarai looked up with wide eyes as Nanami regarded her. Instantly she remembered seeing the older girl back when she was very little, watching the games on television like all the other small children. Back before she was an Avox she thought that being thrown into the Games was only what happened to people who did bad things. That's what all the adults told children to keep them behaving after all.... While she remembered Nanami much younger, Sarai still thought she was quite pretty, even now. She also remembered people muttering on about what a shame it was for such a beautiful girl to be thrown into such a horrible game. That she wouldn't even last a day- Obviously they had no clue how tough she was. Heck, even after Nanami's time in the Games people talked about her. After all she had been the one who tried to show up the Gamemakers. Every Avox knew what happened to people like that- "I-I-I w-w-wa-watch-watched you o-on t-t-tele-television" Sarai managed slowly, only thinking about how dumb that probably sounded after she got the words out. "A-A-And the g-guards t-talk-talked about y-y-you" |

[Medical Truck] Nanami paused as Sarai stammered out her statement. She knew that she still had celebrity status, despite how hard the Enclave had worked to make the public forget about her. Nanami and her boyfriend had broken the cardinal rule of the Hunger Games; they had both survived and both been declared Victor. Unfortunately, the Enclave had made them pay… her boyfriend was brainwashed and sent to kill her after Nanami started the Rebellion; and she had been forced to kill the only person she truly loved. “… I watched you too. They showed you and Connor quite a bit on TV. Everyone’s talking about how he healed you.” Nanami smirked. “The Enclave hates it. So you’re alright in my book.” |

Medical Truck “… I watched you too. They showed you and Connor quite a bit on TV. Everyone’s talking about how he healed you.” Sarai blinked, then went very red in the face. She wasn't used to much attention at all (at least no positive attention) so the idea of people watching her on television and talking about she and Connor...Well it made her giddy and want to throw up at the same time. Bu instantly the girl frowned, looking to the side. She couldn't help but to feel bad too- Sarai moved forward towards Nanami, hesitantly whispering in the older girl's ear. The combination of stuttering and whispering probably made it hard to understand but she managed to get it out after a few tries. "I-I t-t-think th-that's why t-they kill-killed C-Connor's pa-parents" |

[Medical Truck] Nanami did heard Sarai’s words, and she frowned. She had forgotten that Connor’s parents were killed… but she was not surprised. The Enclave was twisted, and anyone who opposed them on any level were crushed. “I know.” Nanami said, patting Sarai on the shoulder. “The Enclave has a lot to answer for, and they will. I’m going to kill Don Gallic with my own two hands.” |

Medical Truck Sarai wasn't sure if she should be happy about that statement, or worried. Either way she gave a small nod, rushing back to Connor's side without another word. She peeked back up at the Nanami but decided to let the girl focus on things other things... [...] A suddenly a scream. It seemed as if the bumpy truck ride had roused Melanie from her slumber/unconsciousness once more and now the girl was convinced she was with the Enclave...That or Shinji found a truck. Either way it was scream worthy. It also didn't help that she could feel blood running down her face...Great; Shinji got her with his club AND found a truck- And where was Galv!? Melanie was confused and terrified. |

Medical Truck Melanie was still a bit too out of it to realize that the woman trying to hold her down wasn't trying to kill her, so she continued to thrash about in attempt to escape. The girl became so desperate that her hands started to glow black and she tried to hit Nanami right in the jaw. Don't worry, i'm sure she would apologize later. "Get off me!" she cried out, "Let me go!" |
