[Vertibirds] Connor looked over to Sarai. The last thing he wanted to do was end up dead – he cared deeply for Sarai, and he wanted to protect her no matter what. “I have to, Sarai. I have to fight… I have to avenge my parents… I have to make them pay for this!” |

Vertibirds Sarai was rather flustered so she was unable to form much proper speech, so instead the girl moved forward grabbing his hand and reverting back to tracing letters with shaking fingers. Then....i'll....come....with....you Sarai looked back at him. She may have seemed very weak, but there had been something inside of her that had made her once kill a man twice her size. |

[Vertibirds] Connor’s eyes widened as she traced the letters on his hand, and he realized what she was spelling out. “No!” Connor shook his head. “I don’t want you in anymore danger, Sarai. You’ve been through so much already…” Connor had met the girl when she was an Avox. He knew she had killed someone, but all Connor cared about was keeping her safe. He had healed her, and he never wanted to see her hurt again. |

Vertibirds Connor was right, Sarai knew that very well. The last few years of her life she wished she was dead. She was extremely afraid of the idea of pain and knew she'd probably freeze up when faced with having to kill another person. But she wanted to help if Connor was intent on fighting. She would be willing to feel more pain if it was for a good cause like that. She took his hand once more, this time just too embarrassed to say the words out loud. Dont...Leave...Me...Please |

[Vertibirds] Connor’s heart nearly broke as Sarai traced out the words. The boy felt awful. He immediately put his hand on her cheek and leaned forward, looking deep into her eyes. “I would never leave you, Sarai. I love you. I’d die for you. But I can’t let the Enclave get away with what they did to my parents.” |

Vertibirds Sarai stiffened as Connor touched her cheek, but a few seconds later relaxed at his touch. She would probably remember there were people watching in a few moments but for now she moved forward, pressing her lips against his carefully. She then gave him a tiny nod, admitting defeat....For now. "P-Ple-Please d-don't d-d-die fo-for m-me...." she mumbled, pulling back. She didn't feel worth it. SARAI IS DEPRESSING. |

[Vertibirds] Connor melted into the kiss, and for a brief moment he forgot about the pain in his body, or the pain in his heart. When she moved back, he gave her the best smile he could even as his eyes started to water. “I won’t die… but you have to stay safe too. You’re all I have now.” |

Vertibirds Shizuo tilted his head toward Maize. A brief smirk formed on his face but it faded as soon as it arrived. "Obvious, isn't it? The Rebels have been biding their time..and they just swooped in and brought us out. Seems simple, seems like there should be more, but no. That's..it." He sighs, his rib-cage rattling slightly as he leans against the wall behind them. Did he end up breaking something while the pylons were off? He doubted it. "As for you...I guess you won't be fighting me, after all. Not like it'd matter, I guess. Everyone's a loser in the games. Glad that it's gone." He turns to her, staring to her through his shades..which were dirty and broken. But they were still his. "So..care to start talking about how you learned all the things you did?" He asked, with slight skepticism. --- Shipper smiled happily as Aiden emerged and sat on down by him. "Oh! Thank goodness! It's good, it's great!" He began laughing uncontrollably, all too happy that Aiden had made it out. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he grabbed her hand, clutching it tightly in his own. "Oi, Aiden! Soon as we land this thing, I'll go salvage a Nuka Cola and we can split it in celebration!" He still doesn't fully understand the games, and as far as he's concerned, he met Aiden. That makes him a winner in his own right. Camp Echo Cole felt sweat bead his neck. This was..awfully strange, the whole setup. A mummy in SWAT vest inviting him to take a seat in the midst of a bunch of corpses and chat about baldy and a platinum chip needed by a reclusive yet wealthy man behind a computer screen...oh, and the mob was watching his every move. Cole's life hasn't been very normal, lately. "I was contracted to find a certain chip and deliver it to a certain someone. The chip was last seen in this man's possession." He unfolds the picture of Old Man Sensei and presents it to Graham. "He was seen around Caesar's lands before absconding. Caesar knows him, and he's old enough that I'm led to believe you know him too. Caesar wants your head for information, but I'm not exactly stupid enough to follow him." He was nervous, but he tried to remain brief and calm..Graham seemed like the kind of guy who could smell weakness and snap your neck in the following moment. |

The Arena Unfortunately for the Enclave, most of the Tributes were already gone and no longer "tributes". The rebellion made a surprisingly effective rescue operation, and very few stragglers were left in the arena. Furthermore, the misfortune increased in the fact that one of said tributes that was left behind knew how to make bombs and explosive compounds, and could make them out of air in relatively large quantities. That by itself was creepy enough, but adding in this particular tribute's penchant for destruction and generally pranking ways, the Enclave was not going to come out of this undamaged. Or so said tribute hoped. Lavan watched carefully from the skyscraper a good distance away from the Empire State Building. He watched and waited, patiently for once, because he could not fail this particular step of his operation. It was too long in planning, too long in motion to fail now. Nothing blew up yet, so he just had to wait until he could see... There! With the Enclave having moved deep enough into the city to reach the farthest point of Lavan's area of effect, the boy pressed a button... And nothing happened. He pressed it again. Nothing. Again... And nothing. He looked strangely at the little controller he had in his hands, and wondered exactly why nothing was blowing up yet. Growling in frustration, he started to mash the button that would send the signal... And still nothing. He went to get up from his hiding position, but just as he did, he dove back down as a n explosion sounded in the distance as one of the skyscrapers began to collapse, its bottom floor utterly obliterated by a payload of high explosive. Next came a second, a third, then fourth, fifth... Explosions were now sounding in a chain as Lavan watched in wonder what his work wrought. First went the farthest explosives, taking down scyscrapers. Then went the explosions under the roads in metro tunnels, collapsing supports as more buildings went down. The rest were explosions set up in series on the actual roads, where high-explosives hidden under rocks and in trash bins detonated with the force of entire bricks of C4. Hopefully, this would cause enough havoc for Lavan to make his own escape... |

[Camp Echo] Graham said nothing at first. He sat and starred at the picture of Old Man Sensei from behind his bandages. For a tense moment, he was utterly silent as if trying to think. The cloth around his mouth moved. Graham was muttering, or perhaps praying, in silence. “… I know him, yes.” He finally said. “I cannot tell you real name. Old Man Sensei is all I have ever heard him called. He is involved with the Rebels who seek to overthrow the Enclave. I’m not sure, but he may even be their leader.” Graham chuckled grimly. “There are a few Rebels who have joined my cause. They thought the Rebellion was moving too slow, and came to me… apparently the legend surrounding the Malpais Legate makes them think I am strong enough to destroy even the Enclave.” He shook his head. “Caesar is lying to you. He does not have the resources to find Old Man Sensei.” Suddenly there was a scream from outside, and one of Graham’s followers poked his head in. “It’s the Legion! They’re here!” Graham stood up. “… They have followed you. No doubt they intend to kill us both.” [The Arena] As buildings fell and subways exploded, the entire city was thrown into chaos. The Enclave soldiers were confused, and in disarray. In the confusion some of the Enclave soldiers even opened fire on one another, believing that the rebels were all around them causing the explosions. It was utter chaos. |

Camp Echo Cole gulped. So Graham was a praying man...? He listened closely as his explanation emerged. "Old Man Sensei?" He paused. He could swear he heard that before..and the Rebellion? Were they even still around? He sighs a bit. "The Enclave are nasty, no doubt..." He looks into Graham's eyes, those icy blue eyes. It scared him, a little. "I didn't think Caesar would give us what we wanted, really...' So they were back to square one. They had a name, an organization, but not a place. "Do you think you could tell us where Old Man Sensei i--" He was cut off by a scream. The Legion? Here? Damn! They were only using Cole to find Graham, weren't they? And Cole was working for House. No doubt that set off a few alarms in Caesar's head. Cole grabbed his amp and clutched it tightly. "We'll stand here and fight with you." He told the former Legate. He didn't know if Joshua wanted help or expected it or was going to demand it. |

[Camp Echo] “You can stay and fight if you so choose.” Graham said as he stood up and drew two .45 caliber pistols. He was ready for combat as he moved towards the front of the tent and bent down near the door. “Or you can go. I cannot blame you for being Caesar’s pawn when I myself played that role for so many years.” He gazed out of the tent flap, and saw several Legionnaires pouring into the camp. They threw spears, slashed with knives and fired rifles and handguns. Graham’s men were being cut down, but they fought back. “I can try to lead you to Old Man Sensei if we survive this.” Graham called to Cole, and he rushed out into combat, firing! |

-Vertibirds- “I don't think you can really call any of us kids anymore...” Edda said to Nanami, frowning a little as he rubbed his hands, “Not after all that...” He glanced towards Connor, “Especially him...” “...My father taught me,” Maize answered, “I'll tell you more, when we have some privacy.” She glanced around at the NCR soldiers. She knew of them, her father telling her, but had no hatred of them, as neither did Ethan. She was just pretty sure it would be a bad idea to mention the Legion around them. “I wonder where we're going though...” Aiden said, holding Shipper's hand and leaning against him, smiling softly. She paused, looking at all the soldiers, “That sounds nice Shipper...I'd love to try some...” -Camp Echo- Zeke cursed pulling out his gun and turning towards Cole. “So what's the plan Cole? Should we run or help them?” he asked. Karma Moment? |

[Vertibirds] Nanami paused, looking to Edda. Then, with a deep sigh, she nodded. “You’re right. You lived through the Games. You’re not children… but you’re not soldiers either. Leave the fighting to those of us who are trained for it.” |

The Arena Unfortunately, the initial set of explosions was only the beginning. However, before anything else decided to spontaneously declare to the world that it was no longer intact via a deafening blast, Lavan began to act out on his own. He leapt over the ledge of the window, right out into the open and concentrated, focusing on a soldier platoon passing right underneath him. Two tanks a dozen or so foot troops and a few heavies... Nothing he couldn't handle. And that wasn't bragging. Reaching for the correct amount of power while you're falling from one of the top floors of a damaged skyscraper that detonates right behind you can be relatively difficult. For a second, Lavan almost thought that this PROBABLY wasn't his brightest idea, but that thought was chased away by sheer exhilaration and adrenaline as power flared in his hands, and the street beneath him erupted into white-hot fire, burning anything it touched, heating metal and obscuring vision. A second later, a pair of burning wings snapped open from the boy's back, preventing him from smushing into the concrete street as he veered into a falcon-like dive, leveling out when he came close to the ground and passing right above the heads of the soldiers, his wings trailing even more flame, much like rocket boosters. The force of the compressed ignition and the heat covered the boy almost completely from opposing fire as he landed on the first tank. Now came the hard part. Focusing on his internal reserves, Lavan collected a large chunk of the force that burned within him, transferred it into his hands and slammed the top of the tank. The heat transferred near-instantly, passing through the metal much faster than the laws of physics allowed for and heated it to beyond its melting point, turning the entire top of the tank and its swivel and cannon into molten putty. Screams erupted from within, but Lavan paid no attention as he moved on, jumping to the second tank and gathering much less power this time, snapping his hand out and lashing at the top cover of the moving machine, melting a hole in its top and revealing soldiers inside. Without any hesitation, Lavan pointed inside and his pointing finger erupted into a flamethrower, sending a burning wave inside and scorching everything. While the heat wasn't quite enough to damage machinery, it sure was enough for the tank operators. All this happened within just moments of the initial explosion. Just as Lavan jumped inside of the tank, the building he used to wait in shuddered and split straight down the middle, falling apart as if bisected down the middle by an extremely large knife. The tank protected the redhead from any falling debris as he pushed aside a burning (and still screaming) man, grabbed the controls, and set the reactor to begin overloading. Usually, a reactor overload meant that the tank was going to blow up. Self-destruct. Turn itself into atomic dust. However, it did so by shutting down the coolants and overcharging its main capacitors, letting the heat take care of the rest. A fusion reaction without containment and active capacitors defined the overload sequence. However, if there was no heat, the reactor could still operate under normal terms. It wasn't a shutdown, but an overload, and it produced even more power than the tank really required. Lavan didn't need that power. What he needed was the heat. With an external input of energy, he now minimized his own drain as he controlled the large amounts of excess heat in the tank, forming it into a shell around the metallic structure, a shell that sprouted a much LARGER pair of wings than even he had sported previously. With heat now compressing and providing thrust... Lavan turned a slow, hunkering machine made of solid steel into a FLYING hunkering machine made of solid steel. As it began to accelerate down the road, Lavan's focus began to shift elsewhere as he looked over the controls of one of these machines. He wasn't exactly an expert, but if he was guessing right, THIS here would be the cannon... With a press of a button, the tank fired an overcharged, bright-green ball of plasma into an incoming building, blasting a hole straight through the structure as the tank followed its own shot, accelerating through the building's interior and finally lifting into the air as it exited, passing over the heads of yet another, stupefied Enclave squadron. "YEEEEEEHAAAAAAW!" A groan next to him interrupted his overjoyed yell, to which Lavan just answered with a solid kick. "Shut up. I'm yeehawing here. You can groan in horrible pain later." |
