The Arena Melanie wanted to tell Galv that she was fine, but she was exausted. She gave a little nod, absently tracing her fingers against his arm. "Galv...." she muttered quietly, deciding to get this out of the way before they were back to being in the public eye. "I'm sorry for everything...Never noticing you and probably acting like a brat...You're...Amazing....And I was as blind as a bat apparently" [...] “Chloe? Now that we’re safe, I really think I should heal you.” Chloe looked over to Connor and nodded, motioning him over. "Alright miho, you can do it now" she said, her head feeling much too light. Sarai meanwhile nodded at Edda, bringing the cans over to the fire and carefully pouring a few of them together. They didn't have much, but there was a small tin bowl included with the cans. She combined what little they had and then held it over the fire with shaky hands. Her hands were the only method she had of communication, she didn't want to burn them. The food cooked for a few minutes, until it started to bubble and it became too hot to keep holding steadily. At this point Sarai placed it down and pulled out the crackers for the group. The meal was tiny but she supposed it would work for the three teenagers. Sarai herself didn't want to eat. Hawkins' House I would say poor Jason, but I doubt he views a half naked girl as something to be sad about. The young man stuttered pathetically, trying to back up lest he melt at that moment. "Y-You can't come with me...It'll be dangerous..W-We're going into hiding...With the rebels, they're going to get my sister out of the games but until they do we have to disappear...They'd use you if you came...." Stop looking down Jason. Focus on her face. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-The Arena- Galv smiled faintly, holding Melanie in his arms as they rested against the wall, “It's okay...I should have tried a little harder to get your attention...I was just always so nervous, I couldn't work up the nerve to talk to you...It's my fault too...” A soft sigh, “We have a few more minutes, at least, until they start watching us again...What's your favorite color? Your favorite food? Favorite subject in school?” He wanted to learn as much as he could about the girl, those little details... Edda ate his part of the meal happily, before walking over to what looked like a pile of debris, grinning. “Here we go,” he said, producing four chocolate bars, “Found these a couple days ago, they're still good.” He handed one to everyone, “Even if you don't like chocolate, you can always use the calories here in the Games.” Edda bit into his own bars, munching it. -Hawkins' House- Erin frowned, “I'm not a stranger to danger. I was in the Games after all...” Where she wigged out and killed the other Tributes by either stabbing them or sucking the air from their lungs. “I want to go with you,” Erin added, “Please...My brother will be fine...I don't want to lose you when I just met you...” Samuel turned to Rica. “We should head off now,” Samuel said to Rica, “We have a lot to do...” |

The Arena Melanie sighed, closing her eyes and thinking about the questions he was asking her. It was strange, for as close as they had become they knew almost nothing about each other. And before now they couldn't even ask each other basic questions, after all they were supposed to be lovers and know everything... "Ummm blue, strawberry cake and literature" She answered after a few seconds. "How about you? What kinds of things do you like? What was life like for you?" [...] Once Edda had eaten Sarai brought the bowl over to Connor an Chloe, leaving it at his side for once he was done working on Chloe's wounds. She backed away from the two and was suddenly met with a candy bar. The girl blinked, tempted to shake her head no....But her stomach growled. Even if she didn't like to eat she needed to do so to survive. She took the bar and opened it carefully, looking down at it. She remembered chocolate....She remembered that it tasted good, but she couldn't place exactly what the good taste was. Sarai moved to a corner of the room, facing a wall and sitting down alone. She then proceeded to break the bar into tiny pieces before eating. She sat silently, chewing and wondering what it was supposed to taste like. Hawkins' House "I know it's dangerous...But it's a different kid of danger." Jason tried to explain carefully. "They want to use you as bait...To get what they want from the Enclave. I don't want you to just be some piece to them. They know about your family and are willing to use that." Jason sighed, stepping back "Why don't you g-get dressed and we'll get into contact with your brother." Yeah. Like Erin's going to accept that. |

[The Arena] Connor could smell the food, and it smelled much better than he ever imagined such a paltry meal could smell. He couldn’t eat yet, though, even though he had suddenly become aware of how hungry he was. Connor’s hands started to glow once more and he gently placed them over the worst of Chloe’s wounds. Normally, this was no big deal… but he remembered how tense things had been with Chloe before, and now Sarai was just a few feet away. So suddenly Connor was getting very nervous. [Hawkins’ House] Rica nodded. “We do. Kanna, you get Jason and get out of here as quickly as possible. Things are going to get… interesting.” Rica paused for a moment. “We need to contact the Rebels. I’m sure they’ll want a head’s up before we do this.” |

The Arena Immediately Chloe bit back a yelp, chewing on her lower lip for a few seconds while Connor's hand brushed over her bloody collarbone and neck. She only relaxed when his powers began to work, and the warm energy he possessed flushed over her. The girl have a long sigh and leaned back in her seat. While she was much more focused on how much better she felt Chloe couldn't help but to notice just how nervous Connor looked working on her. She supposed this had something to do with last night, but didn't want to press that topic lest Sarai end up hearing. "Thanks" she manage with a grin when her neck was fully healed. The girl had a few other cuts and bruises, but that had been the largest and most troubling. Chloe then reached past Connor, taking a bite of the soup and crackers. "Never thought i'd crave slop so much" she said with a laugh. Meanwhile Sarai kept her own eyes down and her back to the group as she attempted to slowly eat. Every now and then she'd peek back at the group though, curious to what Connor was doing.... Hawkins’ House "Fine then....But be careful...." Kanna said, looking away "Jason we're leaving! Hurry up!" she called out before turning back to the group of men in front of her. "I suppose Ethan will take care of our arrangements while we're gone?" |

I can't see what you're imagining

-The Arena- “Hmmm...my favorite color is yellow right now, but I've been thinking about changing it,” Galv answered, “My favorite food is pizza, or, well...anything with a lot of calories...” Galv's electricity burned through a lot of calories, “My favorite subject was history, but I also liked anything in science when we discussed electricity, for obvious reasons.” He sighed softly, snuggling a little closer to Melanie, “And life was...alright...It was just me and my dad...my mom died shortly after giving birth to me... And my dad often has to do things for the Enclave, so I was by myself a lot...” Galv shook his head, “My dad said the Games were the reason I exist...Without them he might not have met my mom. Her family's part of the Enclave...so I guess my dad thought I'd be immune from being picked from the Games...” Edda munched his chocolate bar, lost in thought. Edda often thought outside the box, looking for different solutions to things. It was the only reason he had lasted this far in the Games. He often did things that other Tributes didn't think about doing. It didn't help he had some survival training as well. “So...Sarai is an Avox, right?” Edda asked after a moment, “That means her tongue has been cut out...” He was silent for a few more moments after stating the obvious, a puzzled expression on his face, then he turned to Connor, “Couldn't you use your healing powers to fix that? It's technically a wound, right? If you need more energy, I may have a few more chocolate bars to help out.” -Hawkins' House- “Alright. Rica, you'll contact the Rebels, I'll get in contact with Mr. Tuirill,” Samuel said, “He'll help too, but probably nothing overt. We'll meet outside the Game Center in about an hour, okay?” Ethan paused, then shook his head at Kanna, “No, I'm coming with you. I have no family but my daughter, and she's also in the Games. I have connections, but I'm sure a lot of people saw us leaving that party together last night. If I stay behind they'll take me in and ask where you went. I wouldn't tell them a thing, but I don't want to give them an opportunity. Besides...” He grinned a little, “The Rebellion is somewhere out beyond the border, outside the fence. There's a lot of creatures there who will make mince meat out of anyone who wanders out. You're too distracted and frazzled right now Kanna, you won't be able to defend yourself effectively. I can. But...” Ethan turned to Rica, “We'll need to know where we're going. Perhaps I should come with you at first and then meet up with Kanna somewhere by the fence?” Erin frowned, “If they knew about my family, then they would know the only one who would care is my brother.” Claire didn't really care about Erin, just a nominal nod to the girl out of respect for her son Walter. “And if someone tried to blackmail him, he'd just come after them and kill them,” Erin said, shaking her head, “I'm coming with you. He'll probably be sent to go after you guys anyways...that way I can be with you and explain things to him then...” Erin then headed back into the bathroom, changing. Walter, being a male, had just grabbed a few things at mostly random, and Erin stepped back out, wearing a pink dress. “Don't say no. I'm coming,” Erin frowned. |

The Arena Melanie was silent, listening to Galv explain several aspects of his life. He seemed a lot like her, just a kid trying to enjoy life...His father didn't think he would go in too... "We're a lot alike" Melanie started quietly, thinking about it. "Mom mom said I wasn't supposed to go in, that people like us never do...She wasn't very right though....I always asked her how she'd guarantee something like that but she wouldn't tell me...Jason said it was because of the people she spent time around." Even at sixteen she had no clue what that meant. But she was fully aware of the nights her mother would disappear and not come back for several hours. [...] Chloe turned to Edda, eyebrow raised as he pondered Sarai's problem. The girl couldn't help but to shudder a bit, while Sarai had never even opened her mouth to yawn around the girl she didn't imagine the wound to be pretty. "But what's the point in trying to heal her tongue when it's not even there anymore?" Chloe asked, now moving to her chocolate bar, leaving the rest of the soup for Connor to finish. "Oh geez, I wonder what they even do with all those tongues...Gross." Meanwhile Sarai was still in the corner, staring at the wall rather than the group. She could hear them talking about her but didn't want to butt in...In fact she found herself clenching her teeth shut tightly, as she didn't want anyone around her mouth. Chloe was right; she was pretty gross. Hawkins' House "Outside the fence?" Kanna said with a frown...She had never been out that far. Even as a girl she would hesitate when her friends would dare her to go out and throw something at it. She was sure she'd get electrocuted or something. "How do we get to the outside without being spotted?" she couldn't help but to ask. [...] Jason sighed when the door closed....Erin wasn't going to let up. Between Walter and Kanna's reactions to this he was going to be screwed. Great. Suddenly the girl came back out, in a rather pretty dress. Jason blinked, looking at Erin, his face pink again. "You l-look really nice" he managed. And she smelled like cinnamon. Yum. “Don't say no. I'm coming,” "I have no choice do I? You must have a death wish for me Erin" He said with a weak smile. |

[The Arena] Connor sat and he wondered about Edda’s words. He had never tried to heal someone of a missing appendage. He knew that his powers had limits, and he could not regrow a lost limb… but a tongue was a lot smaller, there were no bones… he might be able to fix Sarai’s tongue… “I’ve never tried healing something like that before. I don’t know if it would work.” He paused, looking over to Sarai. She looked upset, which made Connor suddenly feel horrible to be discussing her as if she wasn’t in the room. “… It’s up to you Sarai. I don’t mind trying…” [Hawkin’s House] “If you want to come while we contact them, you can.” Rica said with a shrug. “I’ll make the call. Hold on.” Rica disappeared out the front door for a few minutes, and when he returned, he had a small transistor radio. He sat it on the counter and took off the front, revealing a small microphone he could speak through. Converted radios like this were how the Rebellion communicated in most cases. |

The Arena Sarai stiffened when Connor turned his attention on her, the girl peeking back over at the group with wide eyes. She found herself shaking a bit, trying to debate the pros and cons of Connor helping her. Well a definite con would be that it wouldn't work. Or that he wouldn't be able to bear looking at her mutilation. That or it would hurt so much that she would flat out die. "Come over here" Chloe said, "Let us look at it, maybe it isn't all that bad" Sarai froze, no longer hungry. Instantly she shook her head and slapped her hands over her mouth. She didn't want all of them looking at her! She was still trying to convince herself that even Connor would be okay. Of course Chloe didn't seem to want to take no for an answer and the girl got up and walked over, cornering Sarai like a mouse. "Come on, we're only trying to help!" Chloe insisted, taking the girl's chin in her hand. "Stop being so stubborn and open up" Instantly Sarai panicked, thrashing about and keeping her jaw clenched shut. "Woah, geez girl calm down!" Chloe exclaimed. |

[The Arena] Connor would have rather handled things delicately. He knew that Sarai had a lot of emotional trauma from being an Avox, and that she seemed extremely shy and lacked confidence. So he didn’t want to do anything sudden that would terrify her. … Naturally, Chloe had the tact of a grizzly bear fighting an alligator. Sarai seemed to be freaking out, thrashing around and practically squeezing her head together to keep her jaw shut tighter than a bear trap. “Sarai! Calm down, please!” Connor rushed over and hugged her, and then he glared at Chloe. “Leave her alone! Geez, Chloe, can’t you at least try to consider her feelings?” |

The Arena It took a few moments for Sarai to calm down, the girl finally relaxing once Chloe was a safe distance away and Connor was holding her carefully. “Leave her alone! Geez, Chloe, can’t you at least try to consider her feelings?” "Well I didn't know she was going to flip out!" Chloe countered, glaring at Connor. "She needs a thicker skin! You'd think someone who had enough guts to do something to get turned into a freakin' Avox would be tough!" From her spot Sarai looked away. She really wasn't that tough. She was just some kid who got caught up in a bunch of trouble and wanted her old life back. She wanted to be able to talk...Perhaps she did need to toughen up... Sarai reached out suddenly, grabbing Chloe's hand and tracing furiously. Chloe blinked, looking down at her hand and following along. Suddenly the girl's eyes widened a bit. "You killed someone?" Chloe asked, brow raised. |

[The Arena] Connor was ready to argue with Chloe, when Sarai suddenly started tracing on her hand. Connor couldn’t see what Sarai was spelling out, but he did see Chloe’s eyes widen in surprise. “You killed someone?” Connor let out an audible gasp. He had known that Sarai had committed some kind of crime to become an Avox, but he never imagined it could be something serious. The girl seemed to kind and timid. “W-What?” Connor gasped, looking to Sarai. |

The Arena Connor gasped and Sarai felt a pit form in her stomach. She probably shouldn't have mentioned that....Now they all probably thought she was some ruthless murderer...The girl stiffened a bit, but forced herself to nod carefully. She couldn't lie. "Ooooh who'd you kill?" Chloe asked, more interested now than afraid. Sarai started to trace on Connor's hand, though her fingers were shaking. She wanted to explain everything but it was too long of a story. "A...P...e...a...c...e...K...e...e...p...e...r" she traced, trying to focus. |

[The Arena] “You killed a Peacekeeper?” Connor asked, looking at Sarai. He had never imagined that she could kill anyone, much less a Peacekeeper. The Peacekeepers had always scared Connor. He had seen some people stand up to them… and usually he watched those people as they were gunned down by the Peacekeepers. “Sarai, do you want me to try to heal you?” Connor asked. |

The Arena Sarai couldn't tell if Connor was impressed or horrified that she was a murderer...But he still seemed willing to try to help her. That surprised her. Sarai nodded timidly, though still hesitant to open her mouth. There were still too many people staring at her in her opinion. |
