District Office 72 Shizuo found himself in a room with his only family member left. His brother. "Kasuka." He mutters. His brother's lethargic eyes looked him up and down. "You'll be fine..the strongest man in the city...you'll be fine." A tear fell down his cheek. They shared a quick embrace. ----- Izaya had a frown on his face. He may have 'loved humans' but he did NOT love his sisters, who were bawling and hugging him. He wanted away from them as fast as possible. ----- Shipper had been talking to his family. "It'll be fine. I'll do my best." Optimism as always. "I'll do you proud, dad." His son grins, pats him on the head, and hands him a pocket watch. "Family heirloom right there. Take it into the arena with you and fight proudly. We will be with you every step of the way." |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Capitol: Holding Area- Gallic was quiet, listening to Lavan's demands. “The blades will be in the Games,” Gallic consented, “But they won't be given to you. You'll have to find them, like any Tributes have to find supplies. As for explosives...well...” He leaned back, “I'm sure someone of your expertise can improvise with naturally occurring elements found in the wild. But...I'll make sure they can be found. I won't give anything to you, but you'll get that chance to find them.” -The District: Office #72- Jimi wanted to just keep kissing the girl, but he couldn't, as several Peacekeepers came, taking Kxs away, dragging her to the stage. With the pylons in effect, Jimi couldn't do anything to stop them, just watch... Agoi knelt down with his wife as she fell to her knees, crying as it seemed Hammah might be killed. “Honey...be strong...” Agoi said softly, “Hammah has a few tricks up his sleeve...he can make it...somehow...please, we can't give up yet. He needs us. We have to be strong for him...” “I couldn't be her Mentor if I wanted to,” Samuel spoke, moving near Kanna and Jason, “Mentors are chosen from a list of Victors. Sometimes one isn't picked...” Samuel frowned, remembering all the years when he had been chosen to mentor...they...had not been fun. He doubted he'd get the chance to mentor his son though. There wasn't any particular rule against it, but the Games were made for drama, and it was so much more dramatic for a parent to Mentor against their child... “...With any luck you might get this drunk...” Samuel said, looking as Rica appeared. They knew each other, both being former Victors. Samuel wasn't especially fond of him. Despite this being one of the most horrible days of the year, Cess was feeling a bit up. The Reapings were soon, and he accompanied Shimera and Coral, frowning during the entire thing. Then Coral was called, and Cess' eyes went wide as the girl was pulled up on stage. “Damn...” Cess said, shaking his head, “Why...?” |

The District: Office #72 Kanna frowned, wrinkling her nose. While she enjoyed drinking Rica tended to smell like the bottom of a flask...But who was she to blame him....He was a Victor and most of them tended to have more than a few vices. "I don't care who mentors her, I just want my daughter to come home alive" Kanna interrupted. "She's not meant for this. She can't fight." [...] "But he's H-Hammah...He's too sweet, too kind...He's not meant to kill anyone....And I don't want him to be killed either" Rose was suddenly consumed in sobs again, burying her face in his coat. She was so distracted that she didn't even notice that some of the children who were lucky enough not to be picked were returning to their parents. "Momma...Daddy..." Colette stood in front of them, eyes red and puffy. |

The District: Office #72 KxS was screaming as she was being pulled away. "No! I don't want to go! Jimi! JIMI!" Nothing she could shout would stop the Peacekeepers and she knew it. But screaming was all she could do. "Jimi! I...I LOVE YOU!" she cried. She had to say it...this could be the last time she'd ever see him. After she said what she had to, she stopped struggling. She just cried. -- Shimera gasped. "That nice girl in the Games? Why would they do that?" she asked Cess. Yes, she was with the Capitol, but she didn't like the Games. She didn't like to see sad children and crying mommies. It was too sad for Shimera. |

[The District: Office #72] Rica looked over to Samuel and waved a bit. He knew the man from the previous years as mentors. Some of Rica’s tributes had been killed by some of Samuel’s, and some of Samuel’s had been killed by some of Rica’s. Then he looked to Kanna. He sighed and stepped forward. “… Coming home alive can be worse than dying in the arena.” Rica said softly. |

The District: Office #72 Rica had a point...Winners of the games were reminded every day that the Capitol still controled them....It drove most of them to insanity, and others to horrible addictions. Case in point: Rica.......And yet Kanna refused to believe it. "I don't care, she has to come home...I can't watch her die on cemera...I won't let her hurt." Too late she supposed...There wasn't much she could do. |

Capitol: Holding Area Lavan chuckled. "Sure did your research, didn't you. Yeah, I'll improvise. Don't you worry, I'll find all the toys I need, and you'll get the show of a lifetime." He would definitely at that. If there was one thing that Lavan always excelled at is turning things into explosives. He didn't care about mechanics, about interesting tech, about anything but the way to blow something up in a spectacular manner. It made things easier to deal with, simpler, and thus... Very, very efficient. Gallic must have done his research to know that Lavan was good at putting things together from scratch. "So, uhhhh... About that bed spring... Or will you let me out soon? I don't mind starting at any time. OH! One more thing. Give my thanks to that guy who can use ice and water for not braining me with that club. I never like waking up with a headache." Hey, if you were a captive, best play nice until you know you can get nasty. For now, Lavan was trapped to a bed with one of the most powerful power users and THE most powerful political figure in the Enclave in the same room. He'd bide his time. And one day... And with those thoughts, he grinned again. "Sure is a lot of kids this time. Hey, do you always get this many applicants?" |

[The District: Offuce #72] Rica nodded, and took another swish of vodka. “Yeah, I can understand that… watching your kid die sounds terrible…” Rica shrugged, putting the vodka bottle in his pocket. He was being crass, but he was wasted. Then, a Peacekeeper walked up and handed Rica a slip of paper. Rica read it, and his eyes widened. “… Well… good news for both of you… your kids are in the hands of one of the finest Victors the Games ever produced.” Rica said, and then he sighed. “… Me.” |

-The District: Office #72- Samuel frowned, then sighed, shaking his head, “Either way...I need to go visit my son...” He turned, walking towards the building the Tributes had been taken. “Colette...” Agoi held his wife tightly, then held out his other arm, grabbing Colette and bringing her into the hug as well. “We should...go see Hammah...” Agoi said after a moment, “So we can tell him we love him...” Jimi shook, watching as Kxs was pulled away. He had...he had to do something...but he couldn't do anything now... “...Jimi, you should talk to Kxs...” Agoi said, “I know Hammah would understand, and she doesn't have any family to wish her well...” This didn't help. Kxs had been a friend of Jimi's for a long time, almost like another daughter. Heck, Agoi had somewhat assumed that the two would get together after this Reaping, when neither of them had to worry about being chosen... “...I'm sorry...I was looking for you...but I couldn't find you in the crowd,” another voice said. Aboy, Agoi's niece, was looking worried, seeing the family in such a situation. Cess frowned, pulling Shimera close to him. “It's always horrible...” Cess said. Ever since he met Shimera, every Reaping he wondered about telling the girl about the Rebellion and his part in it...but he couldn't...he would worry her immensely. He held her close, just trying to comfort her... -The Capitol: Holding Area- “You're lucky you got that bed...” Gallic answered, “Originally it was just going to be a metal sheet, but I felt charitable today. As when we'll start, it'll be soon...Just have a little patience...” "Sure is a lot of kids this time. Hey, do you always get this many applicants?" “It's always children...The best way to remind the District that another rebellion will doom all of their children,” Gallic responded, “There is a large number of Tributes...should be a lot of fun.” |

[The District: Office #72] Coral frowned. Her mother had come in to see her, but the older woman broke down in tears, screaming and running out of the room. Coral was in tears. She looked out of the room and saw Shimera and Cess, but she wasn’t allowed to go and see them. She just slumped down on the bench and cried. […] Van, meanwhile, was lying still on a cot. He had expected this… somehow he had expected this. “… I wonder what kind of meat they’ll have in the arena?” He wondered. That was just how his mind worked. […] Sama sighed, leaning against the wall. He was still in pain from earlier. He frowned and looked over to Musashi. “I hate this place.” Sama sighed. “We have to do something. Do you have any bombs?” Musashi shook his head. “Don’t be stupid. If we cause a scene now, we’ll just get killed.” |

The Capitol: Holding Area Lavan scoffed loudly at Gallic's remark about the bed. "I prefer a metal sheet. A metal sheet does not have sharp, pointy things trying to burrow their way into your backside. And this one is the extremely uncomfortable sort of sharp pointy thing, because it doesn't point straight up either. Stupid springs..." He tried to move around a little, but the chins holding him only made things worse. "... Gallic, if someone is under my bed, trying to work a bedspring into my spine, it's not going to help with the entire "seeing the show of a lifetime" thing. And you should know how uncomfortable it is to sleep on a bed with bad springs." He sighed, settling down a little. "Still... For a horrible dictator, I would have thought you would be a little smarter about keeping things eating from the palm of your hand. I'm disappointed, truth to say, that the games are not there for some sort of underlying meaning except for suppressing rebellion." He stretched as much as he could, moving his back around on the bed a bit to ease some of the itchiness away. "Though I have to hand it to ya, the games tend to be a fun little idea. Except for the entire killing the participants thing. That's just uncouth." He yawned widely suddenly, before looking at the screen showing the various participants. He HAD seen some of those kids, wandering around the District as he had, some of them he remembered as vague faces. Nothing concrete, but some of them did stick out a bit. "... Say, do you mind if I grab a drink of something? Something that's not poisoned? And preferably doesn't taste like sewage? Or does your government make sewage the standard drink? Because I have to tell ya, some of that swill they sell on the open markets... That stuff can turn a housecat into a deathclaw. I'd not give it to even my enemy." |

The District: Office #72 KxS just accepted that she was chosen. Her loud bawling had reduced to silent tears. She had this nagging feeling that she'd be the first one dead. She refused to fight. KxS refused to kill the life of someone who had a family. She'd only defend herself without killing. Or just die. She didn't want to be the cause of a mother's sorrow or a father's loss, or even the nights that a loving sibling would stay awake wishing that their older brother was still alive. The poor girl slammed her fists on her legs. "If only I didn't leave my bag..." -- Shimera sighed softly, hugging Cess a little more gently than usual. "I don't like how sad they all are," she said quietly. She was also disturbed at one girl she heard screaming as she was being dragged away. It was sad to see lovers be separated as well. |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Capitol: Holding Area- “You can always push the mattress off if it's not to your liking,” Gallic suggested with a wry smile, “As it is...you're just a sideshow. An appetizer, if you will, with the Games. You won't be the main focus, just something there for a little spice. Superfluous, at best.” He sighed now, “The Games continued to exist for a number of reasons. I believe someone once said it is greater to be loved then feared, but I don't think they ever considered being both.” Gallic held up his hand and made a motion. A figure appeared, Gallic speaking now. “Two bottles of water,” Gallic ordered. After a moment, the figure reappeared, handing the bottles to Gallic. He then turned back to Lavan, tossing one of the plastic bottles to him. “Here. Sorry it's not something a little stronger,” Gallic said, “My chief of security was uneasy about me being here even with you in chains and at least five different back up pylons. Glass objects were simply out of the question.” -District: Office #72- “...Kxs...?” Jimi showed up in the room she was in, looking nervous. “Hey...they almost didn't let me in...” Jimi said, rubbing the back of his head, “I had to lie a bit...” He didn't say how he lied, just walking over to the girl, “I couldn't bring your bag in...you're not suppose to bring anything with you.” Jimi took a seat, looking worried, “Look...it'll be you and Hammah in there, together...watch each other's backs, keep each other alive. I don't know how, but I'll do whatever I can...Just please...don't give up. Don't let yourself die..” “It's all just...horrible...” Cess frowned, watching as families headed into the building where the Tributes had been taken. Shimera, being a Capitol girl, had never been in danger of going to the Games. Cess had been, but had been lucky enough to avoid them, his name never being chosen. Of course, it helped that Cess didn't technically exist in any database, but that was besides the point. “I couldn't imagine being a parent and having to see my child taken away...” he sighed. |

The District: Office #72 KxS looked up at Jimi. She expected he'd visit her, but she wasn't really thinking about it. She wiped the tears from her eyes and took a deep breath. “I couldn't bring your bag in...you're not suppose to bring anything with you.” She nodded solemnly. "It's okay, I guess. No amount of luck can stop fate." “Look...it'll be you and Hammah in there, together...watch each other's backs, keep each other alive. I don't know how, but I'll do whatever I can...Just please...don't give up. Don't let yourself die..” KxS nodded again. "I'll do what I can. I can't bring myself to fight Hammah...or anybody, for that matter," she choked. Her throat was still aching from the crying. It messed up her voice pretty bad, but she still tried to talk. "I don't want to kill anybody, Jimi..." --- Shimera shook her head. "I can't imagine it either, the poor children..." This was all just making her sad. She didn't understand why hardly anybody in the Capitol felt sad during the Reapings. She supposed she was just one of a kind. "I don't even know why we have to have the Hunger Games," she thought out loud. |

Capitol: Holding Area The red-haired captive finally sat up from his bed, moved about until he found a spot that was finally without the damn protruding bedspring, and stretched. "Ooooh, so scary, I guess I will try to kill you with my amazing Self-Manicuring Nail Growth Powers. Right. Even that doesn't work amongst these pylons, and they're worried about GLASS of all things? Tcheh. Your chief of security sucks, by the way. Might wanna consider replacing him with someone smarter." He grabbed the bottle out of the air calmly, unscrewed the lid and gulped down the life-giving liquid, emptying most of the bottle in one go and letting out a loud, happy sigh right after. "Aaaaah! Finally, something that tasted like water, not sewage! Sheesh, you get the best little things here, don't you, prezzie? Too bad they don't hand out alcohol like that, but I can see why they wouldn't. Besides, I don't drink. It plays havoc on my liver when I do." Drinking up the rest of the water, he calmly put the battle back on the old, used and abused bed, before getting up and stretching out again. "So, when does the show begin? I wanna get this going before I grow any more bored... Or any more nauseated. You REALLY have to clean up sometime, you reek of cheap cologne like some red-light worker. What would your dear old mother say if she ever smelled you? ... Hold that thought, do you even HAVE a mother, or were you born to a pair of demons? Or monkeys? You know, now that I think about it, I can see the primate resemblance..." |
