[Arena] Connor frowned, afraid that Edda might be a threat. He was in no condition to fight. “S-Sarai…” Connor tried to mutter, but he could not speak, so he simply allowed her to take off his shirt and get his ribs bandages. […] Just as Melanie was nearing the supplies, a Tribute with a broken neck landed right in front of her! Standing over the dead Tribute was Sire, who cracked his knuckles and chuckled, looking down at Melanie. “Hey little girl…” And he tried to grab her throat! [Narroh Residence] “If we’re ready, we really should go.” Rica said, and for once he didn’t seem too worried about Kanna and Ethan. Instead he headed out towards the door. |

Arena Sarai quickly went to work, the girls once flushed cheeks were a bit red when she peeled off Connor's sticky shirt and put it to the side before wrapping the boy's worst wounds with bandages. She worked quickly and carefully, despite an injured hand and quite a few injuries on her own. Eventually she finished with the main wounds, pulling him deeper into the old abandoned building. Sarai didn't know what to do...She didn't even know exactly where she was. All she knew was that this place was a very bad place to be.... [...] Melanie gasped, stumbling back as Sire grabbed at her throat. She instantly threw her hands forward, both shining with dark, cold energy that could cause frostbite in a normal person. Of course many of the tributes here weren't 'normal' so she wasn't sure what would happen. Narroh Residence Kanna frowned, following the two men out. Though she had no clue why she cared the woman seemed troubled by the fact that Rica seemed so upset....Of course he had every right to be....But still! "You're upset with me aren't you?" she asked, trying to looked as if she didn't care what the older man thought. Victor's Village "Intentions...With her?" Jason asked, trying to think of an answer that wouldn't get him stabbed with an icicle. He rubbed the back of his head, trying to think. "I just met her, I just thought she was nice...And pretty...You know how it is..." No Jason, you can not use the 'you know how it is' play when the other guy is her brother. Jason sighed. |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Arena- Galv panicked, seeing Melanie grabbed by the taller figure of Sire, taking her throat. He hesitated a moment, knowing if he shocked Sire, he'd shock Melanie too... But then... A fleeting memory. Last night, when just a small spark had increased Melanie's shadow abilities exponentially... He focused, keeping the wattage low, sparking not at Sire, but at Melanie! It might sting the girl but it would boost her powers! Edda landed by Connor and Sarai, looking around to make sure no one was paying attention to them. “I know you don't have any reason to trust me, but I can help you,” Edda said quietly, “I want to help...” -Enclave Streets- Ethan walked along with them, keeping pace with Kanna as they headed to the Victor's Village... -Victor's Village- “You know how it is” works even less when it's Walter you're using it on, who probably regards romance as a strange and unneeded thing. “I'm going to be honest with you...I'm not happy about this, but I want Erin to get better. Whatever this is between you does seem to help her. A week ago my sister would have freaked out and probably caused some kind of incident. She didn't with you,” Walter said, “But if I even suspect you of hurting her in anyway, I will kill you. Understand?” Walter doesn't beat around the bush. |

Arena Melanie didn't see the shock coming so when she was jolted she gave a gagged yelp of pain. Despite this the shadow in her hands grew suddenly, being filled with raw energy! [...] Sarai moved back, staring at Edda with wide, scared eyes. The girl didn't trust anyone, she had no reason to with how she was treated through her years as an Avox.... But Edda didn't seem to pose a threat. In fact he seemed to want to help...Sarai slowly moved forward, handing him the extra bandages with her shaking hand. Victor's Village Jason blinked (having a feeling Walter wasn't joking with his threat) but gave a short nod. "O-Of course" he said with a frown. "But don't worry, I don't want to hurt her...She's really nice. I'd like to get to know her better" |

[Enclave Streets] "You're upset with me aren't you?" Rica tried to ignore those words, but he could not. Instead he looked over to Kanna and his expression alone was enough of an answer. He was glaring at her, and even with his sunglasses hiding his eyes, it was clear that Rica was livid. “Of course I’m upset,” Rica snapped at her. “I had a daughter who I only found out was mine as I was sending her into the f***ing Hunger Games! The only experience I’ve ever had with my daughter is preparing her to kill a bunch of other children, and telling her to rely on her partner until she has to stick a knife in his heart.” Rica shook his head. “… I can understand you not wanting to be with me… but you still should have told me about Melanie.” Ehh, you are a traumatized drunk whose only guests are the pizza guy and hookers. You’re not exactly father of the year material. [Arena] “Gah!” Sire roared out as Melanie’s hands exploded with shadow, freezing at Sire’s chest. He immediately dropped her, staggering back. Interestingly, Sire had only reacted after Galv’s spark increased Melanie’s powers. Her initial attack he seemed to shrug off, almost as if he was used to the pain, and it was only the more intense attack that made any effect. […] Connor did not want to trust the stranger, but Edda seemed like he wanted to help. Even if Edda was just trying to get close to hurt them, there wasn’t much Connor could do. His rib was broken, and he was in horrible pain. |

Enclave Streets Kanna flinched when Rica snapped at her, the man having every right to do so...This was her fault after all. She shouldn't have hidden Melanie from Rica, but back then she couldn't think of a good way to mention to the man that he would be a father. At the time she had fallen out of touch with the man, and was just trying to get by on her own with her son. That's all she cared about. Kanna sighed, looking to the side, continuing forward. "...Sorry" she admitted hesitantly "I should have told you before all of this happened" Arena Melanie fell, grasping her throat and coughing violently. She looked around for Galv, hoping that Sire wasn't coming for him now. That had been a stupid move. |

[Enclave Streets] Now, Rica is a horrible bastard. He’s a drunk, a whoremonger, a thief, a jerk and he’s killed a LOT of people. However, when Kanna apologized, the words cut into him like a knife. He was still angry at her over all of this, but most of that anger was coming from the fact that he had never known Melanie, who was now in the Games. … but it occurred to him that as absolutely miserable as he felt, Kanna had to feel worse. Melanie was her daughter, after all, and Kanna did have sixteen years of memories weighing on her. Rica groaned. “You should have, but… forget it. We can’t afford to fight now. Let’s just focus on getting you and Jason out of town.” |

Enclave Streets Kanna sighed, but gave a small nod. She wanted to make it up to the man, but she doubted there was much he wanted other than for Melanie to be in his life...And considering that right now that wasn't possible... "If you help her get out of this i'm sure she'll love to have you as a father...." Kanna muttered, following the men out. Soon enough they would be nearing Victor's village, a place that Kanna frequented in her younger days. Both Rica and Samuel lived here, so she had a lot of memories connected to the place. |

-Arena- Sire had dropped Melanie after Melanie's enhanced powers hurt him. Galv jumped forward, bending down to scoop Melanie up, holding her in his arms. “Don't worry about the supplies, we have to go!” Galv yelled, then ran for it, trying to get away from the carnage! Edda gave Sarai a reassuring smile, then paused, looking at the girl as he took the bandages, placing them in his bag. “You're not one of the Tributes...too young to be a prisoner...” Edda said, then looked to Connor, “You know him it seems...Not related...” He scratched his head, frowning. Tributes often times left behind a boyfriend or a girlfriend when they went into the Arena. If they were truly unlucky they both went in. But he had never heard of the Enclave putting someone in after the fact... “...Who are you?” Edda wondered, frowning a little at Sarai. “Why are you here?” -Victor's Village- Walter was quiet for a few moments, then produced a piece of paper and a pen, writing something on it, then handed it to Jason. “Here. The address where Erin and I live,” Walter said, and then unshouldered a small bag he had been carrying, handing it to Jason as well, “A change of clothes for my sister.” Erin was still in the dress she had on from the party. “I don't think she's ready to come yet, but I expect her back by nine o' clock tonight at the latest, understand?” Walter said, staring very hard at Jason, “Every minute late is another ice pick. Got it?” -Enclave Streets- Ethan was quiet as Kanna and Rica talked. It seemed they had horrible things in the past as well...Was there nowhere that humanity wasn't forcing itself to act in ways that brought them despair? “So which one?” Ethan asked as they entered the Victor's Village. |

Arena "Ugh...I'm sorry...I'm sorry" Melanie groaned, holding on tightly to Galv as they rushed off away from the fight. She had just caused more trouble, she didn't even get anything! Well at least they had got the phone..Melanie wanted to contact Rica... [...] Sarai continued to stare at Edda as he tried to figure out just what she was doing here. The girl stayed totally silent but eventually moved forward, leaning down so that she was sitting on the old dusty floor. It was coated pretty thick with dust so she used that to her advantage, shakily writing her name in it... She looked back to Edda, motioning to her name. She didn't bother to write then explanation of why she was here, it was much too long and through her years of basically being a slave to the Capitol she hadn't been able to write more than a handful of times...She wasn't very good at it anymore. Hopefully Connor would be able to explain things later...If he was okay... Victor's Village It was weird. Walter was entrusting Erin with him but at the same time he was threatening Jason's life. "Uh...Thanks" Jason said, taking the clothes and address carefully. "I'll bring her back with time to spare" After all he didn't want to die... Enclave Streets "It's right down this way" Kanna said, leading them right to Samuel's door. She stopped at the door for a moment but then walked right in, after all she hadn't needed to knock for years. "Samuel? Are you in?" she called out. |

-Arena- Galv nodded to Melanie as he ran, eventually coming to a stop when he thought they were safe enough, ducking behind a partially collapsed wall. He put Melanie down carefully, then held out his hand which held the phone. As he opened his hand, he froze, staring at the piece of plastic. It was badly burnt, parts of it looking slightly melted even. His eyes widened, flipping it over, looking at it. It sparked briefly at him, it's screen cracked. “Oh no...I...I must have...” Galv said, then brought his hands to his face, resisting the urge to scream and give away their position. “I'm so sorry Melanie. I messed up. I messed up big time. I ruined the chance for you to talk to your dad...I'm a horrible ally...I'm so sorry...” Galv said, closing his eyes, falling to his eyes, “It's all my fault...” Edda paused, a realization coming over him. “Oh...you're an Avox...and you...” Edda paused, glancing towards Connor. The way the girl was looking at Connor earlier... “Ohhhhhh...” Edda said, eyebrow raised, “Well that's interesting.” Edda then turned back to Sarai. “Can you understand and use sign language?” Edda asked, asking the same question in sign language at the same time, “We can communicate that way if you can.” -Samuel's House- “Well I'm popular today...” Samuel muttered, walking out into the hallway and seeing Kanna. “Ah, hello Kanna. Your son's in the living room. He brought a girl over again...looks like they fell asleep on the couch...” He paused, frowning, “Girl's a little more unusual then the type your son usually chases though.” Another pause, and he looked at Kanna. She looked a lot more nervous then usual. “...Is something wrong? You're usually just pissed off when Jason does this kind of thing,” Samuel wondered, “Is it Melanie? Galv? Did something happen?” In a manner of speaking... “Good,” Walter said, then turned around, seeing Erin staring through the doorway, having opened it just slightly. Walter then smiled, a rare act, stepping forward and talking with Erin quietly for a little bit. Erin then paused, smiling brightly, then walked into the living room, towards Jason. “Can you show me where the shower is?” Erin asked, “So I can clean up and change?” |

Arena Melanie collapsed against the wall, squeezing her eyes shut for a few moments while she took a couple of deep breaths. After she had calmed herself the girl looked anxiously over to Galv- just as he revealed the destroyed phone. The girl stared down at the burnt phone with eyes wide, covering her mouth with her shaking hands. It was destroyed. Her only chance to speak to her father...Perhaps her last chance to speak to him before she d- Melanie suddenly let out a sob, shoulders quaking pathetically as she stared down at the phone. She was trying not to cry (knowing on tv it would come off as pathetically weak)but she couldn't help it. [...] “Can you understand and use sign language? We can communicate that way if you can.” Sarai looked up from the dusty floor staring at Edda's hands as he tried to communicate with her via sign language. She had experience with it, after all she had tried to learn many methods of communication upon losing the ability to speak. But of course the men and women in charge of Avox servants in the Capitol would punish them if caught trying to communicate in any way. She never had much of a change to master it because of this... She did know the alphabet though. Sarai shakily brought her hand up and started to spell out words using sign language. A little. Go slower she managed. She wanted to learn, but this wasn't the place to do it she supposed... Samuel's House Kanna let out a little breath when Samuel said Jason was in fact here... But she was obviously annoyed when he mentioned that her son had yet again brought a girl here...She knew who too. She was about to go strangle the boy when Samuel spoke again. “...Is something wrong? You're usually just pissed off when Jason does this kind of thing,”Is it Melanie? Galv? Did something happen?” Kanna paused, turning back to the man. She was in fact very nervous. "Y-Yeah...Rica thinks he knows a way to get them out" [...] "Uh yeah, of course" Jason said, cheeks a bit pink as he led the girl up the stairs and towards the bathroom. As he walked he could have sworn he heard Kanna (not to mention a chill went up his spine) but he tried to ignore it for a moment. |

[Samuel’s House] Rica popped his head in and he looked around for a moment. He rarely socialized with the other residents in Victor’s Village, and usually when he did it was only to shout insulting remarks while he was lying in his own driveway, drunk out of his mind. He said nothing, instead he just slipped his hands in his pockets and looked around. [Arena] Connor gave a groan and he stirred. He was fairly sure his ribs were broken, and he was simply too drained to use his power on himself. He would be able to later, if he survived, but right now he felt helpless. “Sarai…” Connor looked over to her. He paused, and looked up at Edda. By all indications, Edda wasn’t trying to kill them. It was a lucky break on their part, since if he wanted to, he likely could. “Thank you.” Connor muttered to Edda. He tried to sit up, but the pain was too much so he slumped back over. “I don’t get it… I made a deal… I thought you’d be safe…” Connor said, his eyes going back to Sarai. Connor, you made a deal with a crazy general who won’t even obey his boss half the time; why would he honor a deal made with a tribute? |

Arena Sarai turned fast enough to cause whiplash when she heard Connor speak, instantly rushing over to the boy and looking him over as he spoke. “I don’t get it… I made a deal… I thought you’d be safe…” Sarai bit her lip, suddenly feeling very guilty for being thrown into all of this. He was hurt because he was trying to protect her after all....The girl took his hands and started to trace shakily. "S...o...r...r...y..." she managed |

[Arena] Connor frowned immediately when he saw the dejected look on Sarai’s face, and when he saw her trace the word ‘sorry’ onto his palm. He suddenly sat up, ignoring the immense pain, and he threw his arms around her. “You don’t have to be sorry,” Connor muttered. “It’s them I’m mad at… they had no right to put you here…” |
