[Arena] Shinji jumped to the side, avoiding Galv’s tackle. He wanted to snap Galv’s obnoxious little neck and have his way with Melanie… but he couldn’t fight and he’d lost his shotgun! “I’ll kill you later!” Shinji screamed out and he turned and stumbled away into the rain, disappearing into the fog. […] Connor frowned. He didn’t really want to think about Sarai right now. The games were too horrible, and he had nearly died twice, when her life was depending on him. “… I don’t know.” Connor replied quietly. “I… I wish I’d had more time…” […] Kimi looked down at the redheaded boy she had stumbled upon and raised an eyebrow. “I don’t know what crack-addled fantasy you have in your head, but you’d better get over it real quick. Now who the hell are you? I don’t remember seeing you during training…” Kimi had paid attention to the other Tributes during the training phase. I’m surprised too. [Caesar’s Camp] Lanius looked down at Zeke, and for a moment he wondered why this outsider was walking around alone. Then Zeke mentioned the Courier. “… I know McGrath. I’ve heard of him… he is weak.” |

Caesar's Tent Now Cole was in a minefield. He knew the Legion was Caesar's pride..and to damage it meant he damaged you. "I am impressed with your organization. I don't think anyone else could be. The NCR has spread itself too thin, the families under House are just dressed up murderers, the Enclave are impure idealists, and the Rebellion is decaying." He was saying what Caesar wanted to hear; the idea that the entire wasteland has gone to hell and he was their only salvation. On a more honest scale, Cole had no idea which way was best for the Mojave. He knew the Enclave wasn't the answer..but in no way were they pursuing them. And the Rebellion was only targeting the Enclave. Without the Enclave, the Rebels had nothing to fight. Ideologies were such fun. Arena Shizuo gave Maize a side-way look. "You seem to know more about what to look for. And..I'm a bit tall to try sneaking around like that." He snaps a branch off the tree and lugs it with ease. He had some natural strength on him, after all. "I'll watch camp if you feel like scavving." --- Giacomo suddenly emerged from the pile; with a steady arm, he shot the Chinese Assault Rifle at the turret, hopefully bringing it down. He then ducked back under to reload and prepare to loose it again. --- Shipper frowns. "Aiden..I...I'll find a bedroll. You deserve something more than the cold hard ground, eh?" He smiles. "Alright. I'll go look around for things in those buildings over there...anyone want to come with me?" Rebellion HQ "I see you got the wheels spinning. You know where the arena is this year?" He asks. He puts his hands into his lab coat with a smile. "You seem to be busier with more than just noodles." |

Arena Chloe went quiet, knowing she was making the boy uncomfortable by bringing up that Avox girl. She had no idea of the deal he made back at the Capital to keep the girl safe, but she was fully aware that he liked her...After all she walked in on the two kissing. "Well who knows, maybe you'll win this thing, go home and sweep the girl off her feet" Chloe said with a grin "And if you don't at least you're in the presence of a really impressive chick right now" Chloe laughed at her own joke. [...] Melanie rushed outside, chest heaving and clutching her still bloodied nose. It was still raining pretty steadily, but she needed to make sure Galv had made it. By the time she was out the girl noticed Shinji was gone....While she was relieved to be without the boy she was still very scared. "G-Galv! Are you okay!?" She exclaimed, dropping down to where the boy sat looking worse for wear. Fancy Party Kanna headed out of the party, relieved to be away from the crowd. She was never good with people, and would much rather be alone.... Kanna looked to Ethan as they walked....Well, almost alone. "So do you live in the Capital?" she asked casually. Narroh Residence It took a second for Jason to process what Erin had just said, the boy going rather red in the face and stuttering a bit. "W-With me!?" he exclaimed. He had just kissed the girl for the first time, he could barely think of what came next! "U-Uh, that's moving a bit fast don't you think?" Jason asked. |

-Arena- Galv cursed silently as Shinji got away, angry at himself for not being strong enough to take that boy down. He was too reliant on his abilities. He couldn't fight effectively without them. Which meant every time a pylon went on, he would be at a disadvantage. Then Melanie appeared, and he stared over at her, slowly picking himself up, helping Melanie back up as well. “I'm fine...come on...we need to go somewhere else. And get you out of the rain...Be bad if you caught hypothermia or something after I helped you win this thing, right?” Galv said, wincing at the pain in his leg. Just his luck, the same leg Shinji injured as the one he had gotten an arrow through earlier. “Alright then, I'll go look around,” Maize said to Shizou, then darted off through the foliage... After a couple minutes, Shizou would hear a scream! The turret was hit, but still functional, Hammah covering his head instinctively. “There's not suppose to be guns in the Games...” Hammah said quietly. Why was there a gun here? There were, in fact, a very sparse amount of guns scattered in the Arena for urban warfare, but they were extremely rare, and their ammo even rarer. But the Enclave had found that Tributes would get cocky with a gun, take risks, and ultimately get themselves killed if they relied on the weapon. Hammah forced himself off once Giacomo stopped firing, taking a running leap and jumping over a sturdy wooden box, laser fire ripping into where Hammah had just been, who ducked behind it, holding some string. He breathed slowly, then pulled the string, using a basic bear trap he had quickly modified, sending a small piece of debris up into the air. If he was wrong, then nothing would happen. If he was right... Laser fire shot out, destroying the small rock. “Okay, it detects motion...” Hammah thought to himself, staring at where Giacomo was hiding. “I just have to be patient...let him waste his ammo then come out looking for me...” Aiden glanced to Coral and Van, then back to Shipper. While Aiden lacked some basic common sense and was quite naïve, she wasn't stupid. Something was bothering her about all this. It was one thing to be nervous around the competition, but Coral and Van, Van especially, seemed very uneasy about being around them, like they might have to do something they'd really regret. “I'll go with you!” Aiden then answered, then smiled towards Coral and Van, “Our base is your base! It's the least I can do for you saving me earlier from that evil creature.” -Caesar's Tent- “Well, your big boss wanted to meet him personally, so he's gotta have something going for him,” Zeke grinned at the massive man, “Besides, he's done a lot of impressive stuff, and he's just a courier.” -Rebellion HQ- “It's a place I visited in my travels,” Old Man Sensei answered, “I recognized some landmarks from the Games footage. “As for being busy, well, we're working on getting everything ready for mobilization,” the old man answered, “Everyone wants to go now, but if we botch this up, everything and everyone will not being coming back. We only have one shot, and it's better to take a little time and do it right, rather then do it fast and get it wrong...” -Capitol Streets- “I do not,” Ethan said, “I live a bit outside the Capitol, about an hour or so away. It's not too bad, but I often come here to attend to various things, such as the party. One of those elder gentleman wanted me to look at something for them, so it's why I was there.” He took a small breath of air, frowning. The only thing he missed about the Legion was the fresh air. Here in the Capitol, it felt so restricting, polluted. “How about you? Did you grow up here, or out in the District?” Ethan wondered. -Narroh Residence- “Am I?” Erin said, stiffening slightly, “I don't know, no one's ever told me this stuff before...I didn't mean to scare you...I'm sorry...Maybe I should just go now...” She moved away from Jason, getting up slowly and looking around. She wasn't entirely sure where the door was... |

Arena Shizuo looked up. "Could be a trap.." He lugged the branch like a club. "I'll take my chances." He ran in the direction of the scream, quick on his feet. It's not like there was anything at camp anyway. --- Giacomo didn't want to spend all of his ammo on a stupid turret. He dug around in the supply bag, trying to find more. Stimpacks, insta-healers, were here and there and a single super stimpack lie at the bottom. These would be good if he got into a jam or injured. A bottle labeled 'buffout.' There was a wrap of throwing knives, the c-4, some rations, a hatchet, and a box of matches. Looked like an overall well-made bag of supplies. Medicine, weapons, the ever so rare explosives, (Gamemakers preferred slow deaths) food, a couple of tools for surviving in the woods. Of course, considering how many traps were in the building..seemed the more traps there were, the better the prize would be. He couldn't let Hammah have any..not after this treacherous behavior. Then, the laser turret went off. Looking up, he had made the same observation that Hammah had: the turret was motion based. This could be advantageous. Stowing the one gun he'd probably find back into the bag, he picked up a few rocks from the rubble pile. Grinning, he began tossing them at Hammah's location, hoping the laser fire would follow. Careers are not only brutish..they're pretty crafty..and they'll do anything to win. --- Shipper smiled. "O-oh, you will? Let's go then! Aye, as far as I'm concerned, we'll find all kinds of amazing things. Just you wait." Oh yes, he completely trusted the other tributes. "Uhm, Aiden? Do you know anything about the gizmos that are sure to be lying around?" Rebellion HQ Grassi nodded. "Well, I think we should find the generators..or at least figure out where they may have put them. We need as much time as possible to go in and get the tributes before the troops are unleashed upon us...which has got me thinking. Do you think there's a weapon possible of harming them under that Power Armor? If they come after us in that...well..we're as good as dead, sir. That armor can catch a lot of bullets..." He then investigated the elder's face for a bit. For once, he noticed how old Old Man Sensei really was. "You know, sir, you look a little ready to go out there yourself. Maybe all of us are. It's monstrous, what they do there. Do you think this move could be the beginning of the end?" |

[Caesar’s Tent] Caesar watched Cole carefully. The balding man’s eyes were locked on the Courier’s face. He was trying to read Cole’s expressions, and determine whether or not he was telling the truth. “… Heh. I wonder if you really believe that?” Caesar shrugged. “Well, doesn’t matter much to me. You came here for a reason, Courier… So what can the Mighty Legion do for you?” […] Lanius scoffed. “Exactly. He is just a courier. Whatever he has done, it is insignificant next to the Legion.” Behind his mask, Lanius was smirking. “Even as we speak… the Legion grows stronger.” [Arena] Coral and Van had been speaking very softly in the corner, away from the others. They were having a fierce debate on what they should do… and whether or not they should stay with Shipper and Aiden. Finally, Van looked over to Aiden when she spoke up. “Thanks.” He smiled. “I don’t suppose you guys have any food, do you? We’re… sorta out.” He rubbed the back of his neck. […] Connor looked over to Chloe. He tried to smile at her joke, but the truth was he was terrified of losing… he didn’t want Sarai to die because of him. How could he have made that insane deal with Autumn? “… You are impressive Chloe, I’ll give you that.” Connor said softly. “… but you know… I still feel like I barely know you. I mean, we have a minute… if we’re going to work together, we might as well be friends, right?” |

Arena Chloe looked to the side at Connor and gave a shrug. She wasn't sure she wanted to tell the boy who could be trying to kill her in a couple of days her life story but really at this point what did she have to lose? "Eh, what the heck. We're all gonna die anyways. What do you want to know about me miho?" she asked. [...] Melanie nodded and heading out of the street with Galv. They would have to find a new spot now to stay, after all there was no telling if Shinji would come back to try to finish them off. As they walked Melanie noticed Galv's limp. "Are you okay?" she asked softly, rubbing at her sore face. "He didn't hurt you too bad did he?" Capitol Streets "Grew up in the District, worked my way up to a house on the edge of the Capitol. It's good enough for now." she said simply. While she had always wanted to live in the center of the Capitol where things seemed so much safer she had never been able to make it that far in life. Of course now that her daughter had been thrown into the games she was seriously rethinking her goals in life.... "I thought this place would be a safe place to raise my children." Narroh Residence Instantly Jason jumped up, going over to Erin. "N-No wait! You're alright! It's just i'm not really used to talking to someone...Like you" Well that didn't sound much better. Luckily he realized this a moment later. The boy groaned. "I didn't mean it badly" Jason explained "You're amazing, it's just...Well you're a little naive about some stuff" |

-Arena- Not too long later, Shizou would come to a clearing, where two Super Mutants were standing, each of them brandishing a large club. Slung over one of their shoulders was Maize, who seemed to be unconscious! The lasers hit the rubble, Hammah ducking to avoid getting hit himself. “Okay, he's smarter then I was giving him credit for...” Hammah thought to himself, “And he's stronger then me...but I know I'm still smarter...there's gotta be something...” “...Okay, so we're both hiding here from the turret...” Hammah called out, “Neither of us can walk out without the turret blasting us, and we can't reach other without the same. I doubt there's any food or water in that bag. Even if there was, we're both just waiting for the pylons to turn off, right?” He took a moment, frowning. His cover provided him enough space to hide from the turret, and Giacomo. It was possible he might be able to push the box, but it was pretty heavy and solid, and Hammah didn't think he could move it for long. And besides, it would activate any trap it ran into, or leave him open to either an attack from Giacomo, or the turret. A pause. The box. He kept thinking it as a cover. But it was a good, solid, heavy, wooden box. Boxes held things. Like supplies. Hammah produced the knife he got from Giacomo, using it to carefully ripped off a board of wood, then placed it to the side. At the very least he could try and use that like a club. He reached into the dry straw through the gap he made, really hoping there wasn't some kind of trap in it. He gulped, feeling a few items and pulled them out. One was a thermal blanket, useful for the cold. He found a small backpack, and checking it found a canteen and a couple bottles of water. Finally his hand felt something cool and metallic, and Hammah carefully pulled out a sword. He inspected it carefully. The edge was sharp. Hammah knew some basics of sword fighting, from fighting with his brother and other neighborhood kids, using long sticks they found, but never an actual sword. Of course, in the Games, a sword was more useful then a gun in the long run, but here and now Giacomo still had the advantage here. Still...it was a start. Hammah bet that he was more patient then Giacomo... “Ummm...I don't think we have any food...” Aiden frowned, thinking, “Unless Shipper found some before we found him...” She sighed, looking a little distraught, “But if we find any we'll be sure to bring it back here for all of us to share!” "Uhm, Aiden? Do you know anything about the gizmos that are sure to be lying around?" “...What's a gizmo?” Aiden wondered, scratching her head. “Don't worry, I'm fine,” Galv said, giving Melanie a smile as they hobbled off in the rain. After a few moments Galv glanced towards Melanie, then back to the street. “...So did you agree to work with him before?” Galv asked after a moment, “What made you change your mind?” -Rebellion HQ- “The biggest defense of the Games has always been their location,” Old Man Sensei said, “They won't have that many troops there. Some, but nothing we can't handle. As for the generators, there's only a handful of places they could be if they want to deploy them properly, so we don't have to worry about that...” He paused, sighing softly for a moment, checking the noodles, “Cess should have planted a bug into the Gamemaker's network too. It'll confuse them and stop them from activating the fail safe as well. But we'll have to move fast. At the same time we're striking to get the Tributes out, we need to get their loved ones to safety, otherwise they might refuse to come with us...” “Do you think this move could be the beginning of the end?" “Oh yes. Definitely,” the old man said, taking a sip of water, “It's just who's end I'm worried about.” -Caesar's Camp- “Well if you're going to compare one man against an entire nation, I suspect anyone is going to seem small compared to that,” Zeke mentioned idly, “But I bet compared to any one of you, Cole shines.” -Capitol Streets- “I suppose we shared that thought in common...” Ethan said, “We both thought this place would be safe for our children...” He sighed a little, glancing back towards Kanna, “I sense you've sacrificed much for your children, haven't you?” -Narroh Residence- Erin nodded slowly. She calmed down a bit. She liked being around this boy. He seemed nice, and warm...It wasn't just his body heat, but his demeanor. Warm...She liked it. A lot. She moved forward and decided she wanted to kiss him again, so she did. “Thank you...” she said quietly, “You're being very kind to me...You're the first person besides my brother who has been...” |

The Fort-Caesar's Tent "Straight to the point. I like that in a leader." 'Okay, don't push your luck Cole.' He smiles, producing the picture. "My latest employer wants me to find this man. He has a package that needs delivering. He was last seen here, on your turf." "If you've seen this man and could point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated." Arena Shizuo stopped. Okay. This was going to suck. With the pylons, he was vastly weaker. They outnumbered him. But he couldn't let his partner get hauled off and killed. He had no idea how to survive in the wild. His life was tied with hers. Maybe he could stall them until the pylons reactivated. He dropped the branch and picked up a stone. "Hey! Put the girl down!" He throws the stone as hard as he can at one of them...and he was prepared to distract them. ---- Shipper paused. "Ah, there wasn't any food. Again, that lobster monster could probably be cooked but.." He looked at the Mirelurk..which was probably still gnashing its claws and attempting to get out. "Eh. He looks hard to cook. You'd have to strip the shell and cook the meat." He turns to Aiden with a frown. "I was afraid you'd say that..see, there are two types of techno-things we'll find. Good kinds that can heal or act like weapons, and bad kinds, like traps. We'll have to keep our eyes open if we want to live." ---- Giacomo grimaced. A freaking stalemate. And so early. As Hammah's voice droned out to him, he punched the ground. "Alright whiz kid. I don't know how you made the turret pay attention with the pylons on, but you'll have to do it again. Don't know why, don't care." He crossed his arms. "Of course, who knows how long they'll be off. You work with me, we get out alive, we part ways. You've got a tribute-to-tribute's promise." Giacomo was blood thirsty, but not enough to impair his judgement. The fact he had saved Hammah from the runaway car before may have helped convince the other he was honest. After all, they were both tributes. Their end-goals were to get out alive. Rebellion HQ "Right. So any power armored kooks show up, we'll let the Colonel's men and our rebel infantry deal with it. We'll secure the generators and then.." He pauses. "We can go about it in a variety of ways sure. I haven't played with a shield generator before, but all generators can be taken out in a similar manner. Option one, we could reprogram it. Shut it off, let our vertibirds in, shut it back on, trap anything inside. Considering the place is full of strange creatures, robots, weapons, and what-have-you, that may be best." "Option two: we can overload the generator with power until it naturally burns itself out. That would take the shields out permanently. Option three, we could search around and see if we could pull a few wires." "Then, there's the brutish option four where we just smash them. But that could take time, considering they could be made out of a tougher alloy." |

Arena "I....I don't know why I agreed to work with him...I guess "I just thought he was my best bet on winning this thing" Melanie admitted as they made their way through the rain. The girl kept her eyes out for an overpass or empty building for them to sneak off into. She couldn't help but to feel like a small animal, rushing from place to place trying to avoid predators. "I changed my mind because....Well....I'm starting to like you" the girl gave a small cough and a bright red blush. "Uh, as a partner. I trust you more than him, especially now." Narroh Residence Jason relaxed as Erin kissed her. "You deserve to have people be kind to you...You're a very nice girl- Capitol Streets "I suppose...But that's a mother's job so I really can't complain" Kanna said softly, heading into a tall apartment building near the edge of town. She never told the man to leave, instead she just headed up the various flights of stairs. "Excuse the mess, Melanie was the one who usually cleaned-" Kanna opened the door, blinking as she caught sight of Jason....And some GIRL...KISSSSING. (Have you been missing scary homicidal Kanna who kills puppies and punches babies? No? WELL TOO BAD) "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?" Kanna exclaimed, rushing into the room and catching her eldest child off guard. Instantly Jason stumbled back from Erin, red in the face. "K-Kanna? What are you doing back!?" He stuttered. |

[Arena] Connor paused. He hadn’t really expected her to answer him… the boy rubbed his neck for a moment, and then sighed. “Well… what will you do if you win?” Connor asked. He didn’t know why he was curious… he knew that to keep his promise, Chloe would have to… Connor shook his head. She had saved his life twice… how could he be expected to kill her? It was then that he realized he likely wouldn’t win the Games… […] “I know a thing or two about technology.” Van said to Shipper, rubbing his neck. “I mean… I’m no genius or anything, but I can probably do SOME stuff…” Coral just rolled her eyes. “Oh yeah, I’m sure you’ll be reeeeal useful.” [Rebellion HQ] “Or there’s option five… we get someone in the Enclave to turn the shield off for us.” Nanami stepped in the room. She looked decisively less annoyed and bloodthirsty than usual. She immediately walked over to them and from the look on her face, it was obvious she was excited. “Musashi was contacted by a former Victor. A man named Rica… he’s got a daughter in the Games this year, apparently. Rica claims he can get access to the control room, and he’s willing to sabotage the shields if we agree to save his daughter.” [Caesar’s Camp] Now Lanius had to bend down and looked at Zeke, his stone mask just in front of the man’s face. “Compared to any of them, perhaps he can shine… compared to me he is as weak as the rest of you.” […] Now Caesar’s eyebrow rose. The face on the picture… “Ha… ha ha ha ha ha… is that what this is all about?” Caesar started to laugh. After a moment he stopped and stood up. “I can help you, McGrath.” Caesar announced. “… but nothing in life is free. A man of your reputation could be useful… I’ll help you, you help the Legion.” Because making a deal with Caesar can’t possibly end badly. |

Arena The redhead was immediately intrigued. "Oooooh, someone actually PAID ATTENTION? That's somewhat new. And audacious, I have to hand it to you, since you came out and said it to me instead of keeping such interesting secrets to yourself. I like the confidence." He surged to his feet, stretching widely and yawning. "And I am most CERTAINLY not on crack. High on chem fumes maybe, but NOT on crack. Nothing illegal here, no! ... Well, not that you know of." He smiled almost disarmingly at the girl. "But if you want to know who I am, then let me TRULY, for once, introduce myself as I ever should, for I am... The extreme! The audacious! The only! [Arena] Kimi stood silent and stone faced as Lavan went on his tangent. She had a feeling she was going to have to kick him in the teeth in a few more seconds, and when he mentioned whipped cream, nudity and old men she had to take a step back. “What the f*** is wrong with you? Is that how you greet people? Damn, everybody complains about MY greetings, but you’re a pure freak of nature. Look Strudel, or whatever the hell your real name is, I don’t care what freaky fetish fantasies you have going on in your pea-sized brain, leave me the hell out of ‘em!” Kimi was never one to be polite, or one to be afraid. Sure she was in the middle of a barbaric tournament that resulted in several dead children, but even that could not dampen her spirits. “As for who I am, I’m the person asking the questions! Arena Lavan, in the meantime, started to calmly walk around the girl as though he was inspecting a horse, making sure t take note more of the fact that this girl was STRONG. She had the build of someone who used strength to get her way, and while lithe, she definitely had muscle definition. He wasn't sure if she had any power yet, but he wouldn't be surprised if she did. "Hey, a man can dream. Don't worry, you don't figure into them." He spoke carelessly, almost as if what he was saying up until now wasn't important in the least, and his mind elsewhere as he examined the girl. "I already answered who I am, you know. And I was SLEEPING. Obviously." He blinked, stopping in front of the girl after making a full circle around her. "And since I answered your questions, you can at least be nice enough to answer one of mine. It's just one small question. I do expect a truthful answer, however, since I gave you one as well. And the question iiiiiis!" He clapped a few times, as though to a beat. "... Are you having fun in this tournament?" That question, however, was asked completely seriously. His voice was no longer full of laughter and curiosity and that spark of energy. Instead, it was an intense question, something that he expected an answer to. And somehow, it was very important to him. |

[Arena] Kimi felt annoyed. Her first instinct was to punch this guy in the throat, kick him in the gonads, steal whatever food he had lying around and then high tail it out of this building… but she felt the awful sapping effect of the Pylons and knew that as long as her powers were restricted, she might have a hard time killing a man taller and heavier than her. "... Are you having fun in this tournament?" Now, Kimi had to blink. She immediately crossed her arms and gave a grunt of frustration. “… Who the hell COULD? If you’re the kind of guy who gets his jollies off by killing children then I should do the world a favor and toss your ass out the nearest window, because you’d make a better splatter on the pavement than a person.” Kimi looked back up at him, and she matched his serious expression. “This tournament is hell, and it was organized by the devil himself. If you’re enjoying it, then I’ll just do to you what I’d like to do to Gallic.” |
