The District: Office #72 Rose watched as Agoi said goodbye, the woman attempting to hold back her tears. It had never been goodbye for more than an hour....But it always filled her with dread. "It'll be over soon darlings" Rose then said, coming over to her children and giving both of them a tight hug and a kiss. "Love you" And then Rose, Agoi, and Jimi were off to the stands. Colette looked around when she heard the odd buzzing. Other people were looking around, but no one moving. She supposed it was normal, though she wasn't sure what it did. Instead of focusing on it she found her eyes wandering around in attempt to spot her brothers and parents...Too many people. She supposed she was on her own for a moment. [...] Melanie stood staring straight ahead....She felt herself shaking a bit. [...] Seneca Crane stepped on stage, surrounded by several heavily guarded peacekeepers... He had a large grin on his face as he took his seat and waited. Capitol: Holding Area Crystal nodded, knowing Sama was right. They'd be in a lot of trouble if they weren't watching the Reaping. Everyone was required.....If you lived within twenty miles of the actual event you were required to attend, if not the Capitol was sure to provide giant screens projecting the selections around the District. Fourtunately...Or unfortunately, they were close. |

[The District: Office #72] The screens all around Panem were lit up. In the office, all talking had fallen silent after the buzzing of a bell. All over the nation, in every city controlled by the Enclave, a hush had fallen on people. Then, on the screens appeared the face of Augustus Autumn, the Peacekeeper General. He was wearing a very flashy officer’s uniform, black with gold trim, and he had several medals pinned on his chest. He wanted to look his best for the cameras. “Ladies and Gentlemen of the Enclave, the Reaping has begun. The names will appear on the election board behind me, and I’ll read them out for all to hear.” There was a low hum of electricity, and then one by one, names began to appear. Autumn then began to read out several names. (Since I don’t know the full list of who is in the Games, if your character’s name is not listed below, that’s okay! Just assume it was.) Kimi… Colette Spork… Coral McCartney… KxS… Connor Jackson… Aiden… Van Venture… Maize Vire… Edda Adwr… Galv Hawkins… There were several more names (any characters who I didn’t specifically mention who you want in this, plus a few evil surprises later)… And then, the final name was read. “Melanie Narroh.” Augustus Autumn said. He paused, as if waiting for applause for reading a list of teenagers who would all likely be dead in less than a month, and then he continued. "And I've been made aware that this year we will have a few... extra Tributes in the Arena. Criminals who will be punished." |

Capitol: Holding Area Lavan pouted again. "Oh, come on, I like introducing my name in a grandiose way! It's an awesome name! Epic name! Have you EVER heard of ANY other person who was named "Strudel"? I haven't, and that's why it's so awesome. It's unique. I bask in the uniqueness of my name." However, when Gallic mentioned that the Tributes would get a reward for killing him especially, Lavan just had to burst out laughing. Heck, there was no way Gallic could know his plans, because Lavan didn't even have a plan, just a vague idea of what he wanted to do. And that was get into the games, kick ass, have fun and toy a bit with the Enclave. That comment had completely set him off. Gallic's humour, however morbid, was still present, and Lavan had to admit that he would have done something similar himself, just not in such a violent, horrible way. "Oh, the irony! Who would have though: Don Gallic with a sense of morbid humor! Alright then, fine! If I get to choose the reward my enemy gets for offing me, might as well make it a big one! I am quite the catch after all, and someone who removes me from the map should get a reward fit for kings! Sooooo..." He snickered again. "Hey, for whomever beats me... Give them and their family a lifetime supply of noodles. THAT is a reward fit for such an accomplishment!" Finally settling from his moment of hysterical laughter, he moved about on the bed, frowning. "You know, you COULD have gone with a better bed. No, really, this thing itches like crazy, it's got lumps and bumps everywhere, and there is a spring poking into my behind! That's harrassment, I tell you! Did you make it personally?" |

The District: Office #72 Seneca grinned, standing up. "Please! Lets have our wonderful tributes onstage! Give them a round of applause!" [....] Colette looked up at the screen, eyes wide and not quite believing what she saw. Her name was on the screen....The man had said it out loud....She was going into the games.... The little girl was shaking, and felt as if she was about to fall over....The only thing keeping her up was the hand of a Peacekeeper, pulling her towards the front. [...] "....N-No no no this can't be happening" Rose was having a breakdown...Her knees felt week and she clutched Agoi's sleeve in a deathgrip. "N-Not my b-baby" [....] ".....No." Melanie whimpered breathlessly, suddenly feeling very nauseous and overheated in her large white coat. She couldn't have been picked, it had to be a mistake. Every year since her name was in the mix her mom guaranteed that she wouldn't be picked. Her mom was always right. "Come along miss" Melanie looked over, wide-eyed as a Peacekeeper, motioned for her to follow. She now desperately whipped around, looking for any sign of her mother or brother. Someone, anyone, who could save her. "MELANIE!" Melanie gasped, hearing her mother's yells...She couldn't see her though. [...] "MELANIE! NO YOU CAN'T TAKE HER!" Kanna was now screaming, being held back by Jason. The woman was desperately trying to get down there, trying to get to her baby. "Calm down!" Jason exclaimed, knowing very well that now since Melanie was a tribute they had to act very careful. Any of their actions could impact her negatively. "They'll let us see her, just wait" |

I can't see what you're imagining

-Capitol: Holding Area- “Noodles?” Gallic said, scratching his chin, then smiled, “I suppose we can do that. I am nothing if not generous.” He paused, pulling out a remote, then clicked a button. A screen appeared on the wall, showing Colonel Autumn. “So you can see who will be killing you,” Gallic said, Autumn reading the names for the Reapings, pictures of those chosen appearing on screen when they were called. “Maybe you've met some of them before while you terrorized the Enclave. Maybe they're all strangers. Either way, I'll be damn sure they'll want to kill you...” Gallic added. -The District: Office #72- Colette...Colette was chosen? “I volunteer!” Hammah shouted, pushing past the people in front of him, many of them relieved they hadn't been picked, as Peacekeepers came to take the Tributes away. He got to Colette as soon as one of them put a hand on the girl, grabbing the arm. Instantly he was tossed back, but he sprung back up, growling. “I volunteer!” he yelled again, “In place of my sister!” A pause, the Peacekeeper talking into his ear. “...Fine, come with me then kid,” the Peacekeeper shrugged. Hammah nodded, turning to Colette. “Looks like your brother is willing to die for you, kid.” Jimi was frozen. Colette was chosen...then Kxs...his sister...and...the girl he really liked... Then Hammah had charged forward, shouting that he'd volunteer and take his sister's place. No, no, this couldn't be happening. “...Hammah...” Agoi said, eyes wide, “No...Colette...why...why them? Why...” Rose clutched his sleeve, and he turned to her, holding her tightly. They needed to be strong...But Hammah had very little chance of winning. He had no abilities, at least none that they knew of. Sure, it wasn't impossible to win without one, Old Man Sensei being an example of that, but someone like Hammah... He was chosen...he was going to have to fight to the death...Along with... Galv glanced towards Melanie. She had also been chosen. That was just great. He knew he wasn't going to make it out of this alive, not with Melanie also in the Games... |

[The District: Office #72] Connor was stunned. Slowly, painfully, he started walking up towards the stage. Van sighed. He had just arrived from the bar, and swore. He was chosen. And he wasn’t the only one. “Sh*t.” Van sighed, and he walked towards the stage. Coral was shaking. She looked like a leaf in a storm. A Peacekeeper had to drag her towards the stage. Kimi shrugged. She walked towards the stage quickly, cursing as she walked. “Outta my way ****heads!” She called as she pushed through the crowd. In the corner of the room, even the drunken Rica had taken pause. That last name… Narroh. “… Oh… ha ha ha…” Rica shook his head. “Oh… of all the families… hahahaha…” He took a huge swig of vodka. |

District: Office #72 When KxS got here, she nodded at Jimi. "I hope the best of lu-" Her eyes widened. She looked around herself. "OH GOD, I FORGOT MY BAG!" she thought to herself, panicking. And then she was chosen. Oh God, no, this couldn't be happening...! Why did it have to be her? And Colette too?! KxS did not hide her fear. This was the worst possible thing to happen. She turned to Jimi and hugged him so tight that his ribs might have ended up crushed. "Jimi, don't let them take me...!" she cried. "Don't let them take me!" |

District: Office #72 Shizuo stepped up. So did Izaya. Shizuo had a slasher smile. It was odd. He finally had an opportunity to murder that son of a- Izaya was smiling too, but for different reasons. Shizuo was a beast, there'd be no reasoning with him. But the other humans would be so easy to twist and play with. Giacomo was really happy. The competition looked weak, so weak. He couldn't wait to spill their blood. Shipper was quiet, awestruck. He was hauled to the stage before he could control himself. His father and mother were stone-faced and shocked. Their son! Why them? |

The District: Office #72 She couldn't say she wasn't expecting this, after all Hammah said he would, but Colette felt a pit in her belly when he brother took her place. Hammah was so nice...So selfless...He wasn't gonna come home. "Hammah! Hammah no!" Colette exclaimed, trying to get to her older brother. She didn't realize it until now but she was sobbing. [...] "He's going to die...They're going to kill my son..." Rose whimpered, now crying. Her knees finally gave out and she fell to the ground. "Don't let them take him! He can't!" [...] Melanie was led onstage where she finally got a good look at the crowd as well as the other tributes...Some looked stoic, others panicked. She was a mix of the two. She tried to spot her mother who she could hear before-Oh! There! Near the back. Melanie caught her brother's eyes and the little girl came close to crumbling. She had to look away before passing out. Quickly she looked to the side and spotted the boy from earlier...Galv. He had been chosen as well...She would have to kill him to stay alive? She would have to kill ALL of these people....She was doomed. [...] "I need to find someone" Kanna said, breaking free of Jason's grip. "Who?" Jason asked. He knew the woman had connections, but he wasn't sure how many. "A couple of victors I know, I NEED to talk to them before they meet with the tributes. " [...] "Those poor kids...." Crystal said sadly "It's not fair...They're kids..." |

[The District: Office #72] “I volunteer.” Shinji called from the crowd. He stepped forward and looked up at Autumn. “In place of who?” Autumn asked. “No one. I just… volunteer.” Shinji grinned, licking his lips. Autumn raised an eyebrow, but nodded, and Shinji climbed on stage. He stood next to Coral and grinned, stealing glances at her figure as she shook and struggled to maintain her composure. […] Sama nodded. He was quiet. One of the tributes… “Sh*t…” Sama looked up to see Kimi on the stage. He knew her. They frequented the same restaurant, and had met after fighting over the last piece of cake in the café. […] Rica was still downing vodka. |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-The District: Office #72- Kxs was holding Jimi tightly, begging not to be taken away. What could he do? Run away with her? That would be impossible... The Peacekeepers would be on them in seconds, and his family...what would happen to them? “...I'm so sorry...” he said, “We can't...I'll try something...I...” His brother...Kxs...what...what could he do? He paused, then pulled Kxs up. He only had a few seconds. “...Be strong, I'll figure out something. I'll get you and Hammah out of there...” he said. And then he kissed her. Galv stood on stage, looking worried, glancing towards his father. Unlike many of the parents, Samuel was not breaking down. Galv knew that his father was trying to stay strong for him. He hated this... Aiden frowned, looking at the others. She seemed to be one of the youngest here, and unlike most of the others, she had no parents to cry as she was taken. She sighed, simply looking sad. Ethan punched a nearby wall. Thankfully with the Pylons active, he was unable to knock it down with said punch. His daughter was up there on stage... He was...annoyed. But truth be told, he simply wasn't sure if this was better or worse then what he had run away from... Agoi knelt down with his wife as she fell to her knees, crying as it seemed Hammah might be killed. “Honey...be strong...” Agoi said softly, “Hammah has a few tricks up his sleeve...he can make it...somehow...please, we can't give up yet. He needs us. We have to be strong for him...” |

Capitol: Holding Area Lavan smirked as the viewing screen popped up, and scrutinized the competition. And he WAS smirking and looking forward to this, because he damn well knew that he was going to do this HIS way, not Gallic's way. Gallic's way had the kids killing each other where they could. Lavan? Well... He had other goals here. And he really DID see potential in a lot of the competitors. Some of them looked especially capable, and some looked pretty weak to him. Still, it was going to be one hell of a fight. "Well, then I guess I have to ask for a stipulation, oh greatly and powerfully undersized-where-it-matters Don Gallic. I am sorta-kinda-maybe useless without a bunch of explosives. So here is the deali-o. I know you're a sketchy and stingy character who's not going to give up a lifetime supply of noodles for nothing, because we both know that Noodles are the food of the gods, so I will ask for a stipulation. For the purpose of the fights, gimme some bombs and a pair of dao blades, and I can assure you that you'll get the show of your life." He shrugged. "Of course, you can ignore my request and be bored to death in the stands as I stumble about and get killed mercilessly by the weakest little upstart ever, but we both know you're not going to do that because you get perverse enjoyment out of seeing the kids do good, solid battle." He was smirking through his entire speech. Whether Gallic knew it or not, Lavan had already figured that he would be given what he wanted, just because Gallic was the type of person to send masses against the best and crush them completely when they find that their best wasn't enough. It was a simple tactic in the games, revisited every time they ran. And Gallic, the president himself, had quite a bit of say in this. "... And can you do something about this mattress already? It's being awfully invasive on my behind right now." |

The District: Office #72 KxS was dumbstruck at the kiss. It was awkward, but the timing couldn't have been better. She started kissing Jimi back, her tears still apparent in her eyes and on her cheeks. She trusted that Jimi would get her out of this mess. The Capitol: Streets Shimera made a flushed twirl. She absolutely ADORED the flower Cess gave her. It was so pretty and it smelled so nice. Just a simple symbol of loooove |

The District: Office #72 Melanie heard some people start clapping once all of the tributes were on-stage....probably just the Gamemakers and their supporters...But eventually the clapping became louder and louder as it seemed everyone was doing it (though probably not by choice). She stood there, staring out and trying to remain calm. After a few minutes of this the tributes were led off stage, and each brought to a separate room where they were allowed a few minutes with their families before being shipped off to the Capitol.... Melanie was brought to a cold room, and allowed a seat. The girl instantly sat and started to wait.... [...] "You should ask Samuel to be her mentor...." Jason said quietly, as they were being led down a long hallway. "He'd protect her" "He'll want to protect his own son..." Kanna answered stoically "I didn't even know victor's children could fight" Kanna was no longer freaking out...Now she was mad. People had promised her this wouldn't happen. They lied.... "We can't just let some crazy former winner train her" Jason muttered "I know who will train her, just gotta find the drunk bastard" Jason blinked. |

[The District: Office #72] As if by chance, as Kanna and Jason turned the next corner, they would smell vodka. And there, leaning against the wall was Rica. He was laughing merrily, the only person here to do so. He was sloshed out of his mind. He paused when he noticed Kanna. “… Ah… so I was right.” |
