Timeskip Time passed, eventually the train arrived at the Training Center. For the next week, the Tributes would train every day, learning whatever they wanted. Anything from combat and weapon training, survival, hunting, fishing, basic medical skills… For that week, the Tributes worked with their partners and mentors, forming plans and strategies for surviving the Games. Now, that week had passed. The time for training was over. [Staging Area] The Tributes were all taken, with their partners, into separate rooms. In each room there were large glass tubes which people could fit in, which would bring them up to the Arena, where the Games would begin. […] In the room where Galv and Melanie stood, waiting, Rica appeared. He had been sober for a week, and he had done his best to work with them. “Alright. We only have a few minutes left now…” Rica said, looking to them. “Is there anything else we need to go over?” […] In another room, Connor and Chloe would be sitting alone with their mentor. Connor was nervous… everything he had done was now flashing through his head. He felt like he might pass out. […] In every room, the Tributes were waiting… |

Staging Area Lavan was... Relaxing. It has been a week since he has been "captured" by the Enclave and held in a holding cell for the most secure and annoying of prisoners. A week since he met Pibb, the mountain of a man with whom he spent the last week, training until he dropped from physical and mental fatigue. And only yesterday did he get enough sleep, the nights previously spent in the most intense training regimen possible for a human being. And now? Now he was waiting, surrounded by four armed guards, lounging around on one of the seats within the small room into which he had been brought not half an hour ago. He was calm today, well-rested and had WAAAY too much energy. But he had to restrain himself, for the focus of his energy would be wearing out the combatants... "... Ssssooooooo... You, guy, yeah you, the one with the wonky chick-sticker on your left shoulder. What can I expect in there? Giant monsters? Zombies? Aliens? Trees that hug people? Or maybe... Maybe I'll end up in a sultan's palace! THAT would be awesome. Say, you don't happen to have any war paint, peacock feathers or some heavy-duty engine grease, would you?" |

[Staging Area] “Wait. I want to talk to this one.” A man appeared in Lavan’s room. It was Augustus Autumn, the Head Peacekeeper, and the Head General for the Enclave’s military. He stepped forward, his eyes narrowed as he saw Lavan. “So. You’re him… you’re the one who blew up my helicopters and killed my men.” Autumn glared at Lavan, but he had a smirk on his face. “… The President seems to think that the Games are a good punishment for you. Personally, I would put a bullet in your brain right now. Would you be charming enough to give me a reason?” Autumn smirked. |

I can't see what you're imagining
|
-Staging Area- Galv stood close to Melanie, glancing to her. Soon they would be in the arena, and find out where they were, all of them scattered about... “I think we're good...” Galv answered, sighing a little. He had already talked with his father...said his goodbyes. Samuel just looked sad, but hadn't tried to talk Galv out of it. He looked to Melanie though, wondering if she had anything to say. Hammah was nervous. He kept glancing towards the tubes. It had been a week, and he had learned as much as he could. Ila just smiled a bit, nodding towards the two. “Don't worry, I'm sure you two will do fine!” Ila said. Hammah didn't feel any better. One of the soldiers frowned a bit at Lavan, though no one would know, his face hidden under his helmet. Then Autumn walked in, and he stood up a little straighter, giving a salute like the others. Walter didn't particularly want to be here, he would rather be with his sister, who was talking to her Tributes, and probably having a hard time of it. Erin looked to Kimi and Shinji. “Ummm...are you two good?” Erin asked, “Anything I can do for you here before you go?” -Spork Residence- Agoi had the TV on, staring at the screen. The Games would be starting soon...Jimi was off, somewhere with the Rebellion right now, talking to them. He sighed, as they showed various clips of the interviews and the Tributes, as time counted down to the start of the Games... -Rebellion Headquarters- Old Man Sensei also sat down, staring intently at the TV. Cess and Shimera might be able to find out where the Arena was this year, as they infiltrated the Game Center. But still, he needed to see if for his own eyes, to help contact Kimball, to coordinate a rescue... |

[Staging Area] Rica frowned, and nodded. Then he paused, and looked to Galv. “And… you’re still… committed to your plan?” Rica asked, raising an eyebrow. It was purely selfish, but Rica didn’t want the boy to change his mind… [...] Kimi just shrugged her shoulders. “I’m fine, lady. I can handle this stuff, no problem.” Shinji, however, just grinned and sidled up to Erin with a horrible smirk on his face. “I can think of some things you could do for me.” Shinji replied, his eyes… wandering. [Rebellion Headquarters] Nanami was sitting on the ground, her legs crossed and her eyes closed. She could hear the television, but she was not watching it. “… I might go out later. Do a patrol. I don’t like being here when these start.” |

Staging Area "Blew up your helicopter? Killed your men? Naw, you must have me mistaken with some other redhead past his twenties with a love for explosives and a penchant for trouble. In fact, he's a few cells down from here, you should be able to find him just fine!" Lavan was grinning the entire time he spoke. "Oh, and he was saying something about it not being all. Remember that base that disappeared? Yeah, that was him. And the patrols that kept vanishing and then reappeared as dog chow? Same. What about that time you lost one of your "special project" caravans? That was him too." He shrugged carelessly, waving a hand about. "You might want to shoot him, yeah. But that's the thing... Your superior will be very, very displeased when you do. Why? Simple." Lavan suddenly leaned forward. He knew that Autumn wouldn't be fooled, so he was only talking at this point to annoy. "Because I am. His way. Out of. Making any promises. To the public. I am the guy on whom Good ole Donny Gally can dump the fact that NO ONE won this competition. See? He waits for me to clean up everyone, comes in, kills me himself and doesn't have to spend a penny or give a single reward. And who's to blame? The criminal he captured. Simple, yes?" He shrugged leaning backwards. "Other than that, you might not want to shoot me for one more reason. If you try to, I'll kick you in the crotch and then use you as a human shield against your own Enclave buddies. After all, we all know that the aim of your average soldier is no better than a 1-year-olds ability to do complex science equations. So go on, shoo, leave me to my fate of death... And pick up some good cologne. The stuff you use smells like you just came from a cheap bar." |

[Staging Area] Autumn simply smirked the entire time that Lavan spoke. He could tell this man was… not right in the head. There was an astounding level of arrogance in Lavan’s speech. Then again, Autumn pretty much wrote the book on arrogance. Still, he was not angry, in fact he seemed amused by everything Lavan had to say. “You are a piece of work, young man. You’re so confident that you can win these Games… and so confident that you could survive me, if I were so inclined as to make a move.” Autumn chuckled. “Good. That arrogance will make you fun to watch. I’m tired of sniveling little kids from the District who want to whine and b*** because their name was chosen. You might actually make this a year worth watching.” |

Staging Area Lavan grinned, giving Autumn a thumbs-up in an almost off-handed, lazy way. "Just watch me, old fart. I'll make this one hell of a competition to remember. Just make sure to keep your eyes well-trained on the prize... Who knows, you might even LEARN something. Then again, when they say things about old dogs learning new tricks, I think they didn't account for dog brains in a human body..." He shrugged. "But you really can't blame what's going on out there. They're kids. They're suppose to whine and moan, they're supposed to be able to do things like that, because they're not supposed to mature and kill people. Especially people their age in a blood sport competition." He shrugged. "Meh. That's life and they fell into it. Just mark my words, old fart. One day, Donny Gally will end up in a coffin. And you will join him as a pile of ash. And I'll be there." He smirked, giving a menacing look at Autumn, even though he still remained completely relaxed. "And I'll piss on your grave." He snickered again, and waved a hand dismissively. "Now, shoo, fly! Don't bother me." |

[Staging Area] Autumn’s smirk was still firmly in place, but there was a twitch of irritation. His eyes seemed to twitch a bit, and a vein in his forehead was now visible. He was far less amused by some of what Lavan had to say now. “… Well, it’s nice to dream. I’m sure each of those kids is dreaming of winning and seeing their families again. Hell, one boy actually made a bet with me for the life of an Avox! Some of them have some level of spunk… but the world is a far more predictable place.” He looked Lavan in the eyes. “You see, in the real world, I have thousands of soldiers under my command, and we have all manner of machinery. Not you with all your arrogance, or that Old Man whose arrogance makes you seem humble will ever triumph. The Enclave, you see, is too strong.” He gave a smirk. “You see… The Rebellion is going to be destroyed before the year is out. Time will pass, and more people will die in the Hunger Games while I watch, and laugh. And perhaps, when Gallic decides to retire, I will follow my grandfather’s footsteps and become President of this Enclave. As for you? In a few days, you’ll be dead… and then I will piss on your corpse before we feed it to the Deathclaws.” |

-Staging Area- “I am,” Galv nodded, “I'll make sure Melanie lives...” He sighed a little. He did wish there was a way they both could survive though...but he wasn't going to say it out loud. He didn't want Melanie to think it too... Erin frowned, staring at Shinji, feeling uncomfortable and wishing her brother was here with her. “What...what is that?” she asked carefully. Worse came to worse she could just stab him repeatedly. -Rebellion Headquarters- Old Man Sensei frowned a bit, but nodded. “Don't stray too far...we may get lucky and be able to identify the arena quickly,” Old Man Sensei said, “And I will want you with me when I need to contact someone...” |

Staging Area Lavan was just sniggering through all of Autumn's speech. The more the man spoke, the more Lavan sniggered... Until in the end, he just couldn't hold back a few snorts of laughter. "My god, can you get any more stereotypically evil? I can't believe that someone like YOU... No, wait, I take that back. I finally understand why the Enclave can't aim worth crap and why your guns keep jamming so often. YOU'RE in charge. It must REALLY suck to be you, seeing that none of your soldiers can't keep their eyes uncrossed long enough to fire, and their equipment in working condition..." He stood up, surging to his feet and stretching languidly, as if DARING Autumn to shoot him there and then, presenting a larger target. "Good luck then, I say! Good luck trying to tame a flame that will never disappear. Good luck watching games that won't go the way you want them to. Good luck trying to continue your pappy's homoerotic legacy. And BEST of luck, old fart, with finding me in a grave." He moved suddenly, without any warning, his face suddenly right in Autumn's, just a fraction of a moment for him to cross what was almost ten feet, his movement so sudden that even the soldiers guarding him had no time to shout, let along bring weapons to bear. But all Lavan did was whisper to Autumn, grinning like a lunatic. "You'll need it." And then, he calmly turned around and walked back to his seat, flopping into it, careless as always. "Now shoo. Go on. I tire of your ugly mug, your cheap cologne, your bow-legged stance and your less-than-adequate attempts to make yourself look like a poser. Go away and let me enjoy a conversation with some steel-dressed mannequins. They're more intelligent conversation anyways." |

[Staging Area] Rica nodded, and he sighed a bit, hating himself for the fact that he was relieved that this kid was going to sacrifice himself for Melanie. “Well, I’ve trained you all I can… Remember, the moment the Games start, run as far as you can away from the Cornucopia. The food and supplies will be tempting, but you can’t win in a fight with everyone else.” […] Shinji gave a horrible grin and stepped a bit closer to Erin. “How about we kick the shorty out of here and spend a little quality time?” Kimi just grunted. “I’m going to laugh when you’re dead.” […] When Lavan was suddenly in his face, Autumn did not even flinch. Nor did he move for the gun on his belt. He was tempted to put a few bullets into Lavan’s leg, just to get him ready for the Games, but he decided not to. “No, you’re the one who will need luck. Because there is no way that you will survive the next few days. I might even make an announcement that whoever kills you will get extra medicine and food.” Autumn chuckled to himself. “Though part of me hopes you DO kill all of the other Tributes. I would so love to kill you myself. Then we’ll see if my men can shoot…” He paused for a moment. “… Though, you know, you’re not the only one. There’s another prisoner in the Games. One of Caesar’s servants. I’m eager to see which of you will live the longest.” He shook his head. “It was nice to meet you, and it will be nicer to see you dead.” [Rebellion Headquarters] Nanami nodded a bit, and retrieved a bow from the closet. A long, black bow with tactical attachments and a scope. “I’ll take my radio… and I’ll stay close. Call me if you get anything, I’m very eager to go.” |

Staging Area Lavan just put a pinky in his ear and twisted it a bit, looking for all the world like he was cleaning out his ear. Then, he looked up and raised an eyebrow. "... Still here? Come on, I thought I told you to leave." He turned to the nearest Enclave guard, smirking. "Come on, can you tell your pet to get the hell out of here? It's starting to smell like wet dog. Or maybe you can spay him? You might want to do that, he looks like he's the uppity type. And we all know what happens to uppity dogs..." |

[Staging Area] Autumn narrowed his eyes for a moment, but then his face relaxed into a gentle smile. Which, from him, seemed even worse than a fierce glare. “Good to see you can enjoy your last few hours.” He turned and headed out of the door. -Staging Area- Galv just nodded. He really didn't want to talk to Rica...Heck, he wanted to be alone with Melanie so he might be able to kiss her one more time before the Games started...just in case the worse happened. “We'll be fine...we know what we're doing...” he sighed. Erin frowned at Shinji. “What do you mean? And Kimi and you both have to be here...The Games start soon...” Erin said. She paused, shuddering slightly, not because of Shinji, but because she was recalling the Game she had been in... Autumn left, and Walter shifted position slightly. He didn't like Autumn that much, but then Walter didn't like anyone very much, outside of his sister and his mother. “Alright, the rest of you take position outside. I can watch the prisoner,” Walter ordered to the other guards. They nodded, then walked outside. Walter then turned to Lavan, and removed his helmet. “You are either very brave, very stupid, or both,” Walter said simply, staring at the red haired young man, “I heard you met Pibb...” |
